Hufflepuff seemed unable to decide how to respond to the ongoing threat to their team, and Slytherin took advantage of every hesitation as a serpent was apt to do when it noticed a creature's attention wavering in the slightest degree as an opportunity to either strike or flee as it saw fit.
All three viridians would cast the most basic dueling spell in their arsenal, Flipendo, and all of them were directed at one target: Alina. Livia's and Evpraksiya's concussed her with devastating outcome--though it seemed to Piérre that Livia struggled to conjure the spell for a moment before it finally sprang to life at her will--but Luca, despite doing just about everything perfectly, was the one spell that Alina did manage to somehow elude by a narrow margin.
Hufflepuff was looking more and more battered by the second, and Piérre's brows furrowed. At this rate they would be looking at a first casualty soon. Hufflepuff's performance so far had been hit and miss, but he was certain that there was some plan in mind. At least Amelia was finally back on her feet, even though she was still blindfolded.
The grey cloud grumbled, but no spark was allowed to manifest itself.

Moments did, unfortunately, exist when the magic did not come as easily to Livia as she might have wished. Her usual self-assurance failed her when she lifted her wand, the smoothened chestnut cool against her fingers as if it were cold, unmoving bone. Livia set her jaw and pushed aside her doubts – she would not allow this to be like the last time she had cast flipendo in front of her beloved Evpraksyushka. She would not crumple beneath the weight of her own arcane power.
Hher voice was soft, its low timbre grating against the three syllables as she nearly growled, 'Flipendo.' It took its time to come to fruition, pulling at her heartstrings like a puppetmaster might a marionette. Livia inhaled sharply and honed her concentration on the spell first, and then at her target. It finally sprang forth, and her targeting could hardly have been faulted; the spell, which she had worried so much would backfire upon herself, battered one of the Hufflepuffs across the piste, and Livia was able to breathe a small huff of relief. Even more comforting was that the incantation had left Evpraksiya's lips at nearly the same time Livia had expelled them; that the two moved in tandem assured the young Slytherin that, this time, she would not make the same mistakes.

Alina hurt. She was angry, more so than she expected to be. This match was not going well. Apparently she had been graciously lucky in her first matchup. But not now. She had once again been used as target practice, and taken not one but two knock back jinxes that sent her reeling onto her back, the wind knocked out of her. For a second she could only stare at the ceiling, wondering if this truly had been a good decision. She had gotten incredibly lucky to have avoided the third spell, less she end up in the hospital wing, as it was looking more likely to be. She had been lucky the first time around... maybe not so much here. Did they feel bad? She had, the time she had caught Aislin in the last match with a well placed Incendio. She fought through the pounding in her skull and the gnawing urge to vomit. Alina couldn't count on luck, she had to be smart. She shoves herself up from the piste, her arms shaking with adrenaline and exhaustion. It was only round three, dang it. She dusts off her robes, trying to reset. She spins her wand around in her hand. Start over. She flicks her wand around again. Rematch, whatever you want to call it. Seven more rounds to go.

Getting up off the floor, Amelia felt her body aching with pain. Pain and the forceful tingling feeling in her chest. Frustration.
As she attempted to comfort her own position, she took very little notice of the spells flying around and towards her teammates. In fact, she wasn’t even sure what had happened that round.
But brown haired girl was sure about one thing. Hufflepuff would win. It didn’t matter what it would take. She wasn’t going to have lay petrified on the ground for no reason. She didn’t like feeling helpless. But the Badgers were no longer helpless.

Evpraksiya's eyes slanted over to Livochka's as her flipendo hit Carnell a split second after her own had struck the girl. There was no time to express the sentiment now, but she was overjoyed that Livochka seemed to have improved since their last duel and her smile was no longer a pleasantry. Luca on the other hand, seemed to have missed this time but as he'd been the one to land the obscuro on Lerelle she supposed she didn't have much room to judge.

Moving on from his attempts to blindfold his opposition, the strategy had shifted to a more frontal assault. “Flipendo!” the Slytherin said as he completed the wand movement. You can only control the cast, Luca. Never the dodge. Luca noticed his intended target had evaded. Nevertheless, he analyzed the situation briefly, deciding that his attack being dodged could have placed his target in the path of his teammate’s attack. Teamwork was crucial to any duel, and the Vipers were three steps ahead.

In yet another show of unified force, the three Slytherins went for their blinded prey with one accord. While Amelia was working the rest of the loose knot out, she would be punched thrice with three different knockback jinxes. The force of them combined would almost take her out, but continue to stand and waver she did. She had one good round left in her yet, perhaps more if she was lucky enough.
Alina, having been spooked by her own three-point assault the previous round, had dedicated herself to avoiding further harm--a sound call but one that had not paid dividends due to the chosen target of ire in this instance. Meanwhile, Minnie attempted to sling a Flipendo at Livia, who evaded it despite the rather good aim that she had put on it.
The cloud continued to stay silent as Piérre watched it with slightly suspicious eyes. Perhaps it really had had only one good bolt in it after all...

As if a voice whispering in the far regions of her mind, Livia could not help but wonder why they had not ceased to target her. She side-stepped a flipendo, casting a sidelong glance at where the spell had gone instead. Although it might have hurt had it hit, she maintained that it was no longer her problem with which to deal. Thus, she focused on her own task instead.
Duelling always resulted in a victor – at least, proper duels did. Those that resulted in 'draws' did not count in Livia's eyes. Having a draw was yet another form of cowardice. Thus, mercy, too, was not to be had. That she was attacking an opponent at a disadvantage hardly bothered her; no, it was merely seizing an opportunity. Her voice was calm and flat as she murmured, 'Flipendo,' once again, watching with catlike intrigue as her teammates' spells similarly hit their mark. She kept her gaze on the girl who was their target, waiting to watch her topple over; this did not occur. That was fine – so it would take a bit longer.
Content to observe in search of yet another opportunity to seize, Livia began to move along the piste, almost as if a prowling predator eyeing its prey. Her weight remained on her toes, her grip still secure on her wand as she watched, and she watched, and she watched.

Alina had made the smart move by dodging... well she thought so anyways. She hadn't gotten anymore hurt, and that was good in and of itself. Amelia however had not been so lucky, and Alina had suspected those hits were coming, but not nearly as severe as they were. She had taken three flippendos at full power, and Alina could only watch in horror. She wishes there was something she could do to help her teammate, but she didn't have a whole lot in her arsenal. She puffs up her cheeks and lets out a long slow breath. The next round would be critical.
