I am Yash, talking in against the motion on the Whether Hotdogs and Sandwiches are same.
The speaker stated that a open faced sandwich is a sandwich which is sandwich but a sandwich is which has different slices of bread and not a single cut in a single piece bread the add the sausage.
In majority of the world vocabulary, Hotdogs and Sandwiches are always considered different. Sandwiches are more versatile can they can be made with various materials and meat whereas Hotdogs are more restricted to sausage.
In the context of history, Sandwiches were eaten by the elites and the ones who were rich showing its ease to eat and classy whereas Hotdogs were a street food which the commoners eat as it was easy to make and cheap.
I would like to conclude my speech by saying that, Sandwiches are very different from Hotdogs in terms of making, history and even vocabulary.

Hot dogs are sandwiches. They include all the characteristics of a sandwich, with meat sandwiched between two pieces of bread. Both have the same intention, using the bread to make sure you don't get your hands dirty.
The "sandwich" term is broad. The Merriam-Webster dictionary actually stated that sandwiches are "two or more slices of bread having a filling in between." Hot dogs fit in this category— a piece of bread, (which is also split by the way) with a filling (meat) in between.
Also, hot dogs are not just restricted to the sausage. Like all sandwiches, you can add whatever you want in the hot dog, whether it's sauce, cheese, chili, or anything else you want to add. In conclusion, a hot dog is a sandwich, and belongs in that category.

To answer to the last speaker, if hot dogs are sandwiches, there wouldn't be a separate term for them. Hot dogs are named in a different way because if you go up to a street vendor to ask for a hot dog, they'll definitely get one of those bun-and-sausage-not-two-slices-of-bread-plus-any-filling for you.
You wouldn't usually expect a hot dog as you ask for a sandwich or a sandwich as you ask for a hot dog, proving public and industrial recognition separates them. If hot dogs are sandwiches and could have any filling in it, you would have heard of 'Cold Tuna' or 'Warm Eggs' for names of tuna sandwiches or Egg mayonnaise sandwiches.
Lastly, in fact, In New York (if I remember correctly) tax law, sandwiches include gyros, burritos, and wraps... but NOT hot dogs. This shows governments themselves don’t treat hot dogs as sandwiches.

Nobody at a baseball game bites into a hot dog and shouts, “Wow, what a delicious sandwich!” We don’t go to Subway to order a footlong hot dog, do we? The hot dog has claimed its own unique cultural identity. The fact itself, that you say a "hotdog" and a "sandwich", is proof you don't accept it as the same thing, like you are arguing it is.
Sandwiches are versatile. You can stack meats, cheeses, veggies, peanut butter and jelly, chips and pretty much anything. But hot dogs? It exists solely to deliver one thing: the sausage. It’s a single-purpose food, a baton of meat snug in its dedicated holster, and that's it.
