There sure had been a lot of scavenger hunts around the school lately—but that wasn't an issue for Della. This was good, safe fun. And a creative puzzle to solve. This one seemed to utilize the wide expanse of quidditch pitch—a smart idea since the Hogwarts summer camp festivities didn't usually involve actually moving around the pitch; only the summer quidditch matches and broom races usually used the entirety of the large stadium. It was interesting to explore the professional stadium as it was—not transformed into a Hogwarts student playground.
The first clue seemed easy—find the advertisements and pick up something that would be on the school grounds. It could be an uncomplicated first bite, or Della could be completely overthinking it. But she when turned up at the scoreboard, there was already a large swath of students milling about. If it was the wrong idea, at least they all had the wrong idea together. There were three piles: quills, candles, and sticks. Another gimme—Della grabbed a few sticks and cradled them in her arms. She looked around to see if anyone she knew had also signed up for the hunt. She saw a few familiar faces but plenty of new ones. Many of the new first years were here—good to play the Hogwarts games while they're still safe; enjoy them while you can. She sighed; a lot of the students around her age were probably snogging in their tents somewhere.

Leather gloved fingers clutched gingerly at the edges of a piece of parchment, held just beneath the edge of a large sign in the distance. The quidditch scoreboard was presently blank of any scores, but that didn't mean it was barren entirely. A plume of white dissipated following a low scoff. When Evelynn had awoken that morning to find an envelope mysteriously at the foot of her bed containing what was presumably the first clue to a scavenger hunt, she had been intrigued. Although her participation in the hunt for the Spring Ball's key had been withheld, she did enjoy a good riddle and an amiable stroll through the London Quidditch Stadium grounds—as opposed to exerting oneself in various sports and energetic activities—was just the sort of activity she could actually get behind.
In fact, she considered herself generally quite good at this sort of thing. Yet countless minutes had ticked by as she hunted for where the advertisements show. Her first assumption had been the bulletin near the entrance to the grounds, where the students had initially filtered in and found adverts for all the various events for which they could sign up. Or perhaps amidst the tents of food that displayed the delectables they were serving. Or perhaps the announcements of the games that had passed and those that were yet to come. Regardless of what marketing-related notion had come to mind, however, she never seemed to be able to find three piles of anything, let alone whatever it was to which the clue alluded.
She'd almost given up entirely, pausing long enough to simply amble about the tents and grounds, and investigate the pitch to see if anyone was practicing. And it was there that she'd seen the sign. It was so obvious, and yet, somehow it hadn't occurred to her until it had quite coincidentally found itself centered in her line of sight. Now that she'd seen it, however, there could be no other answer. The rest was simple enough. On discovery of the piles so nicely organized on a table at its base, she moved without hesitation to collect the first of what would be an unknown number of scavenging paraphernalia.ACTION: Taking a stick

Emily wasn't going to waste time waiting for her tentmates for this one. She was up and out, dressed, as if being pulled by the winds of fate themselves. A Scavenger Hunt! She hadn't done one before so it's not as if any further explaining was needed as to why she was so eager to participate. She was game the moment she found the first riddle stuck to the end of her bed.
The thing was, however, Emily loved to think and daydream so much that it was very easy to catch herself off by overthinking things. As she was getting dressed that morning, Emily already found herself thinking up the most left-field answers to what she would find out in the end be a completely simple riddle.
She wandered about the grounds with the clue still in her hands. She glanced down, reading and re-reading it, and for the first time she silenced all tangents in her head and kept her train of thought linear. Much like how a candle can light up a room with a focused gaze, Emily was able to hone in clearly on the answer to the riddle.
The Scoreboard. Sure, it was natural for one to assume to find the scores on said board but given how impractical it would be to find advertisements attached to the goal hoops or even the concessions... unless they were advertising new treats...
Emily shook her head. She was doing it again. She was contradicting herself.
I'm already here... Just go with the flow...!
It was at the Scoreboard she was then greeted with three objects sat neatly on a table; sticks, quills and candles. She referred to the riddle again before her eyes darted back and forth between there and the items.
Quills can appear everywhere with all the birds on the grounds... then again...
In the end, Emily went with her inner gut and picked up the sticks.
I've always had faith in the trees, so therefore...

THE SECOND RIDDLE HAS APPEARED!
Those who travelled first to the Scoreboard would find themselves congratulated by a short display of golden fireworks and the appearance of a stack of scrolls on the table underneath the giant advertisement-riddled blackboard. Each participant could take a scroll and open it to reveal the second riddle of the Scavenger Hunt:
Your journey's just beginning now

Nothing, and he meant nothing, was going right today. It was just one of those days full of heat and pressure and he would not be at all surprised if at the end of it he turned into a diamond. Of course, magic would have to be involved because the glacially slow period under which something so magnificent would be produced would see his long buried and brittle dry bones crushed and turned back into the dust from whence they came.
He wouldn't care except for EmmaLee. She caught him all sweaty and overheated after his morning run earlier today, and he was trying to so hard to zero in on what she was saying, but he missed some - okay - a lot of it. He did catch something about a scavenger hunt, and that did sound like a lot of fun, but all he could think in the moment was that his perspiring self needed a shower or he would have taken off with her right then.
"Oh, that sounds like a lot of fun. I'll catch up with you. I have to get cleaned up and then I'd love to go on a scavenger hunt with you. I saw something at the end of my sleeping bag this morning, but I was trying to get up and out before disturbing anyone and forgot all about it. You go ahead and I will be there. Promise."
He watched her walk off and thought how pretty she looked, and had wanted to say something, but considering how pretty he didn't look in the moment, he thought it best not to bring attention to such things. As he turned to hurry into the Cygnus tent, he ran over to his bedding area and started looking for the clue she had mentioned. Confusion turned to frustration turned to near panic when after three minutes he did not see it anywhere. Well, isn't this just fan-freaking-tastic! Was this going to be another Masquerade Ball incident where she just wonders where the blazes he is? Standing her up once, sort of, was bad. This would be unforgivable.
One more slow, methodical search located the elusive clue. He must have tossed his fleece over it when changing this morning, and it stuck to it due to static. Whew! Crisis averted. He quickly scanned it, and knew immediately it had to be the staduim's Scoreboard. No time to shower now, so he did three Scourgify's upon himself and felt much better. He donned his black jeans and a cream cable knit sweater, and black trail boots, and he was off to catch up to her. He had no doubt she would have gone to the Scoreboard as well. He just hoped he wasn't too late.
He hurried, but he did not run. As he bypassed a lot of familiar faces, he nodded, but didn't stop to chat. No time. The Scoreboard was a decent distance away, and it gave him time to think this would be so much better than their time in the Barbie Pink clashes with Pepto-Bismol pink circus crafting tent last summer. Then he stopped to think about how after they got to talking he was almost unaware of the tent color any longer. EmmaLee had a way of doing that to him; making him forget things or not notice things he would normally be hyper-fixated on in any given moment. She also made him notice things he would have never thought he would, and at that thought he shook his head and continued on.
There were a lot of folks hanging around the area, so he hoped that meant he wasn't too late. He looked down and scanned his instructions again before seeking her out. Walking up to a table, he looked at the three choices. Well, clearly the answer had to be sticks, so he reached for one and was going to look for his hunting partner, but he was just a little too late as the second clue appeared before he laid his hand on the stick. Well, damn. His luck for the day was was not getting any better. Whether he won or not, it would be nice to have a fun, relaxing time with her, and he'd hope he might be helpful during the next round. Maybe it would help things get back to normal between them...
Whatever normal between them was.
When he spotted her, with her stick in hand, he walked up to her sheepishly. "I'm sorry, EmmaLee. I really am. You have no idea how hard I tried to get here on time. I just barely missed it, but I'm glad to see you got your stick in time!" and he smiled widely at her, trying not to feel like everything was slipping away from him.

Eugenia was at Summer Camp. A summer camp full of awesome events. The first being the Scavenger Hunt. Being a bit tired, she didn’t start immediately. But at least, she did.
Eugenia held the piece of parchment with the riddle in her hands. Softly her lips moved, without making a single sound. She had to find the answer. Where the advertisements show, where the advertisements show. Of course! The scoreboard! The girl walked towards it and approached.
The board in question was faded, an old advertisement on it. Well, I guess that has not been used in a while… Eugenia looked at the items before her. Something you would find at the edge of school grounds. There was a quill, a stick and a candle. Now, she really had to think. Candles? Hmmm. Who would leave candles at the edge of school grounds? No one! I haven’t seen any at my one year there.
Next option. Quills. Quills were something students sometimes dropped at the edges of school. But in no way would you see many of them, in no way compared to the sticks. For a moment she thought harder. Oh Yes! Sticks are wood. At the edge of school grounds, there is the forbidden forest! And it is wood! Just like the sticks. They must be the answer! She confidently picked up some sticks. Yes, this was the answer.
Action: Going to the scoreboard (a bit late) and picking sticks as item.

Oonagh rolled her eyes at the spectacle of golden fireworks, though she reveled in her victory and defeat of riddles, as well as bask in the glory such wild sparks promised. Perhaps she would be able to find where they stored the fireworks and set some off in the tent or something... Regardless she pushed through some students to reach the table with the scrolls and picked up one of them, only to groan.

"I thought I was done with riddles!" she called out in frustration as her gaze glanced over the paper. One boy in particular amongst other students in ear shot to hear her little rant before she took off to where the next clue would lead her. Perhaps there was something to be said about the school and its riddles, wasn't the school's logo in some ancient weird language too? In what kind of place had she landed? She kicked the snow angrily, if she had to go to a stupid summer camp, it should have at least been summer-y rather that this misery.
Apparently she couldn't even send her parents a proper letter, not without catching some bird and tying it to its legs in the hopes that it could magically find her parents. She was still convinced that was some kind of elaborate prank and as soon as she tried to catch one of those birds and had claw and beak marks all over her arms and face, some students and teachers would jump out of the bushes with a huge 'Gotcha!', so no, Oonagh would not fall for their stupid tricks and riddles.

Tone exclaimed with a smile. "Hah, yeah. I went with blond this time." He told her and nodded when she spoke of how long it had been. "Yeah, it has! Tone didn't have to move much as he hadn't moved away from the area in the first place. Opening it, he read through the contents of the second riddle and thought for a few seconds. It must be that place, he thought to himself and glanced back down over at Zophyr. "Good to see you again. You haven't run into any dogs this time around, right?" Tone asked with a smile, remembering their time together from before. "I'd love to chat more but we need to move to the next location first. See you there?" Tone said and then flew off. |

It was a drowsy morning, seemingly for all the activities in the camp that had tired out some of my muscles. I was quite surprised to see an envelope. Ah! The Scavenger Hunt! It was today? Geez, I lost track of time.
As I unfold the envelope, the first riddle was written beautifully on it. I murmur,"Where the advertisements show, huh? The Scoreboard usually is the advertising place for all kinds of commercials, so Scoreboard it is!"
I hurriedly get myself ready, in a comfortable grey hoodie and jeans, with a pair of warm boots on. I rush to the Scoreboard and find the three mounds of items that was mentioned. I am quite unsure as to how this items shall be needed by us later on. There were sticks, quills and candles.
I wanted to intuitively go for it. But well, I will be damned, as everyone was choosing sticks, I was truly more inclined to it {even though I had a feeling the quill would have been in handy for noting down something?}. I did end up picking up the stick, right on time I guess.
No sooner, there were golden fireworks and another scroll was presented. The second riddle already? Gosh, hope I am right with my choice.

time⠀morning⠀ date⠀30/07/24⠀ dialogue⠀#c992a0⠀ interacting⠀open to interactions!“If I meet that guy who decided to make everyone freeze to death...” Charisse huffed as she wrapped a scarf tighter around her neck. And why was she fully dressed with a scarf and overly large mittens during the summer? Blame it on the summer camp planning committee.
“I swear - ” she violently tugged on a mitten. “Which part of Summer Camp don't they understand? Do I look like I want to live in the cold for like, 30 days...” With a defeated sigh, Charisse diverted her gaze back to the piece of paper clutched in her hand.
It had originally been the word advertisement that led the girl to the scoreboard. Charisse had been to Quidditch matches before with Luca and Levius and she remembered the self writing letters embossed in gold. In fact - she squinted at the giant board - a faded Gladrags Wizardwear advertisement could still be faintly seen scribbled in the lower left-hand corner there. Positively scowling at this point, Charisse began to climb up the stairs leading to the wooden table. So, so many stairs. Always the stairs…
“Take something from the pile that you'll find on the edge of school grounds - Huh?” She read the riddle once again after finally reaching the base of the scoreboard. Problem was, Charisse hasn't never been to the grounds - or even the school - yet. How was she supposed to know what was on the edge of some stupid school ground? Still, she doubted there would be any candles or quills on a field, so that only left one answer -
“Welp,” Without a moment of hesitation, her mittened hand closed on a stick. This better be correct.going to the scoreboard and picking up a stick (too late)⠀actions
