Slytherin vs Ravenclaw: Match 1
Well, then. With all the praise for her own shield charms, it was only a matter of time until the universe shook things up. Confringo's rebound—generally rare for Phaedra—caught her off guard, and the robes twisting around her ankles certainly had not helped, for the dark fabric stifled her attempt at evading. The sheer impact left her wobbling and aching in several joints; a bitter outcome, indeed.Doing as strategized (x)

4th November 2023- Morning
Just because the last round of spells had been mildly quiet didn’t mean the next needed to be. Any semblance of peace on the dueling piste would be dismantled by the two teams - why one would expect anything else would be the real surprise.
Slytherin was leading the charge against silence (and everyone’s eardrums). The trio would honor the Murder with cries of ‘confringo!’ The dueling team, turned firing squad, would all level their wands at Delilah. The hubris of her untouched shield would need to be punished.
The birds would opt for a round with a bit more strategy. The result of which ranged from wildly successful to wildly disastrous. Aida would continue the trend of textbook perfect magic, summoning up a blazing Incendio duo. Maybe it was some sort of twisted homage that made her conjure such a spell as she took aim at Bridget. Delilah however, would show the stands exactly what you didn’t want to do when casting. If it was distraction, carelessness or exhaustion, no one could say, only that her reparifors was a total loss. Such a loss that it would sting its caster. Amongst the two ends you had Phaedra, with a perfectly average Fulgari.
As Delilah recoiled from her failed healing she would be assaulted by the Viper’s barrage. Bridget’s would connect squarely first, while Astrea’s exploded to the side. Dmitri on the other hand, would accidentally send his explosive bundle of magic towards Bridget. Galton could only guess that both Bridget and Delilah were sick of being exploded. Bridget would dodge the wild spell, but that was never enough with confringo. Shrapnel was always an issue.
Bridget wasn’t in the clear yet, however. Aida’s perfect ball of flames would easily find the poor snake. In all the chaos of friendly fire Bridget wouldn’t be able to even attempt to dodge. The last spell to cross would be the bundles of rope soaring to constrict the snakes. Phaedra had elected to spread the fulgari, sending one to Astrea and the other to Dmitri. Astrea would not even need to bother with dodging, as her rope went way over head. The same couldn’t be said for Dmitri. The cords would wrap around his limbs and being to tighten. It seemed he once again found himself unable to fully move.
Somehow after all the magic had crossed and collided, everyone was still standing. Yes, actually standing. A few dualists looked like they couldn’t take much more, but they were still mobile. Galton wouldn’t have guessed after the first round that they’d all still be here, but duels always surprised you - that’s what made them so much fun. He wouldn’t even attempt to wonder what surprise was next.

Slytherin vs Ravenclaw: Match 1

"RAWRRR!!" growled Aida, not dissimilar to a particularly ferocious kitten with a strikingly melodic high pitch. Yet, however little fear such a display struck into the hearts of the Slytherins, the wix's perfect incendio would burn true.
"You're going down!"
While the Ravenclaw team was looking a bit worse for wear, they were all still standing and the match could still go either way.

Throughout his years dueling, the boy has seen the full range of powerful duelists and master spellcasters. In this instance, there was only one thing Dmitri Kazimir Jones learned was true about Ravenclaws:
They were really good healers.
Full stop.
So it was no surprise to him to witness what could have been another one of the predictable Reparifors this team was known for. What was surprising to him was the fact that this attempt at a Healing Spell failed to the point where it looked like it hurt their team rather than fixing any of their wounds.
"You know, I think St. Mungo's would be a good career path for you. Dueling? Not so much."
He was too busy trying to rile up his opponents that his spell went haywire and exploded near Bridget, instead. Double that by the fact that he was immediately bound by conjured ropes, and Dmitri was sure his mouth got the better of him.
Ah. Crap.
He didn't mind, though. In fact, it was a compliment. Having your spellcasting skills feared so much to the point where people would rather disarm you than duel straight up—it doesn't sound too bad.

For every positive there was a negative this duel. It was satisfying to see her spells connect, but the constant fiery bombardment? Not the most enjoyable thing. Such was the reality of what Galton had titled the battle of their houses' best.
But the friendly fire was a surprise. With any other partner she barely would have blinked at it--mistakes happened, spells didn't always go where you wanted them to--but this was Dmitri. If you asked him, he was likely to say he was the best of Hogwarts, and yet he'd made the same error, and she shot him a bit of look, maybe a bit less even-keeled after being repeatedly exploded, but he was now busy with Fulgari's tight bonds. Between that and the fire now licking angrily at her clothes, things could certainly be looking better... but they could also be worse. Delilah looked close to tipping over.

Slytherin vs Ravenclaw: Match 1
In the span of a single round, the temporary recess of imminent hearing damage imploded on itself as all three of the Vipers chose pure chaos, blasting charms firing off in rapid succession. For Astrea’s part, past Dmitri's uncharacteristically veering Confringo and the disarmingly inaccurate binds headed towards her, she could theoretically consider herself the most currently capable capacity wise. The duel had just begun and yet — as expected from the strongest of the senior league — it seemed that such power could only burn so bright for so long.
Already, one member from each team looked worse for wear, rendered communal target practice in the name of dignity and sport. What they needed was just another tip in the right direction… From there, even the cleverest of schoolyard taunts could not shake a crumbling sandcastle.

@Astrea Soleil Neptune | @Bridget Collins | @Dmitri Jones | @Aida Mòrsgor-Ama Ellwood | @Phaedra StavrouShe got hit again... and again... and again. This wasn't looking great, she was immediately brought basically to her knees, getting hit with 3 of those giant spells on the bounce was painful, like really painful. Her body stung from head to toe almost instantly as they hit her like bang, bang, bang. She was still standing! Who knew for how long though, her vision was starting to go a bit.

Fulgari was a rarer charm, even at the senior league. In most duels, there wasn't a need for it that couldn't be achieved with alternatives. Here, however, Delilah's dogpiling left them in a precarious situation; one which forced Phaedra's hand into abandoning its raw destruction for the new mission of getting Dmitri off their ass. Her wandwork sharp, Phaedra bound his limbs with a satisfying pull of rope. The thought of it leaving a friction burn, or several, entirely made up for her other split gone haywire, and Phaedra was not above flashing him the pettiest grin that she could muster. “You were saying, Jones?”Doing as strategized (x)

4th November 2023- Morning
Another batch of spells meant another torrent of flames and explosions. Neither the Vipers or the Ravens seemed to be fans of any somewhat "humane" offensive spells - no, they needed to try to take each other out with as much brutality as possible.
The Murder would be the loud ones this round, their chirps and songs slowly destroying everyone's ears. Phaedra and Delilah would both wind up with confrigo. Phaedra's cast went off without a hitch, but Delilah's didn't even seem to produce any magic. But who could blame her, her body had to be pushed to it's absolute limit. Unexpectedly, Aida would wind up for another Incendio duo. And, like Aida had proved time and time again, they knew how to cast it.
The Vipers would take a break from the all out bombardment, with Bridget electing to try and help Dmitri out of his bindings. Though Dmitri had shown a bit of strength earlier, most duelists needed all the help when it came to anything physical, and with the particular tightness of fulgari robes it was no surprise Bridget would assume he'd need some help. Sadly the help would not provide the boy any results. Astrea would be the only one to carry on the (not-so-figurative) torch, producing a double dose of Incendio Duo.
Balls of flame and pure kinetic energy would be flung across the piste. If Galton wasn't worried one of the duelists would go down soon he would have covered his ears to spare himself some pain. Phaedra's confringo would catch Astrea squarely, the terrible noise and force would surround the snake. Aida's ball of flames would be close behind her, setting the duelist aflame. But Aida wasn't done there. The flames from their wand must have been so hot it left behind a blinding light. The piste would be lit up with a wild Lumos Maxima - how impressive. Astrea would have her revenge though- the duo globs of flames would both find their mark. It was too much for Delilah, the duel had claimed it's first KO in round 4.
Galton's hand went up. "PAUSE!" he made sure to yell as loud as possible to compensate for their ringing eardrums. Mediwizards would remove the battered and bruised youth before he would yell out "RESUME!" a tad quieter than before.
It took 4 rounds to claim the duels first victim. The only thing Galton could wonder was how many more until the next?!

Slytherin vs Ravenclaw: Match 1

"Oh no, Delilah! Stay with us!" Aida mourned with a rising, hopeful intonation, only for their comrade to fall.
"You'll pay for that!" called the white wix, and as if in response to Aida's anger, the Ravenclaw's wand lashed out with an additional spell. With a hiss of annoyance and wincing with focus, the wix knew they would have to pull out all the stops to keep their team in the game.
