1 July, 2023 - First day of Summer Camp
For some reason, the first person to respond to her was Bloom, and that surprised her. But what made her heart absolutely sink were the words that were delivered in a very resigned, disappointed tone. That caught AngelFyre off guard and she quickly scanned the list for a different name this time, that of Howard White. Nope. He was not on the list either.
Ahhhh. That explains a lot.
Bloom was a graduated 6th year, soon to be 7th year, and as such, AngelFyre had no reason to believe that she was not telling the truth. The girl looked like AngelFyre felt... crestfallen. "Admittedly, my offer was a knee-jerk reaction to a most unfortunate situation," and she sat herself down in one of the overstuffed arm chairs. Looking at Bloom directly she said, "I am sorry that your other half will not be with you, either," and AngelFyre meant it.
She heard Bloom mention some "wise words", attributed to the red haired boy, about taking advantage of her space and she smiled wanly. Simon and AngelFyre were simply not a couple that liked to have space. It was not a jealousy issue or anything of the sort. They just honestly enjoyed being together every chance they got. If they could be together 24/7 that would suit them just fine. Even if there was no talking, it was the being together part that settled them both. They both always did better when together.
As she turned her gaze to look out the windows, she began to wonder if this had been a severely wrong calculation on her part. She had decided to be here for the summer because she thought, well they both thought, that it would afford them even more time together than they had as students in the same House at school. Here they would have to say good night at 9 pm. They had not done that in... well... come to think of it... had they ever parted at 9 pm? Good grief. If she had known this was going to be the situation, she might just honestly have gone home. The cost/benefit analysis was suddenly not adding up favorably.
She missed Hillary immensely, but it was the time she had opted to not spend with Grandma Ruth that was now eating at her. All owls had indicated she was pretty hale and hearty, so that mitigated some of the guilt. Still, AngelFyre knew the day was coming when that would not be the case. She had gambled and lost a little. No sense in losing even more. She decided right then and there to make the most of a cruddy situation.
Looking back around at her trunk, she decided it was time to find her quarters for the next month. A quick unpacking session and she should would be ready with a hustle in her bustle to get out and find out where her boy was. Maybe together the two could think of something, no matter how drastic. She snapped her forearm down and her wand slipped elegantly into her hand from the wand holster on her forearm. Motioning it as appropriate towards her trunk, and intoning, "Wingardium Leviosa!" AngelFyre directed the trunk before her and went in search of her bed.
Fifteen minutes later she was unpacked and running out of the cabin, ready to find Simon.

At the question of drawing, Rosella nodded her head slightly. "Yes, much of my free time is spent drawing or painting. I did not bring any of my painting supplies with me though, I was not risking it getting lost or stolen." It was true, the girl spent quite a bit of her time attempting to draw or paint the things around her. She had difficulty imagining things to draw or paint but as soon as she had something in front of her she could actually see, she was instantly using it as reference.
"Everyone should be able to speak a little bit of English, but don't worry if you don't understand something because I still mess up. Hello Nikolai!" The girl was happy to see someone else she actually knew, although she knew Nikolai better than Roksana because of the Hex-team. At least the tree of them would hopefully be comfortable with each other and would have people to talk to when needed.
Glancing over at the other student, she smiled. "We were just about to go introduce ourselves to the others, would you like to join us? You do not have to if you do not want to though." Rosella was never going to force someone to interact with others if they were not comfortable, but she also did not want to just leave Nikolai after he had just gotten there.

───────────────────────────────────────────────Some of the tension that had settled in his shoulders eases up with the small spot of familiarity his schoolmates provide. Nikolai had strongly considered just staying in Russia for the duration of the summer break, but the promise of competition at the Scottish school had reeled him back in. Only time would tell if the decision was worth it.
The invitation to join the two girls for a round of introductions draws a moment of consideration. While he wasn't particularly keen on the prospect, having to spend the next month not knowing anyone's names sounded more annoying than anything else. Nikolai is about to offer up a response when a girl enters and takes it upon herself to announce her name to the entire cabin. The boy blinks at her. Well, it was an efficient way to go about it if nothing else.
Nikolai looks back to Rosella and Roksana and offers up a modest shrug as he voices his agreement. "Yeah, sure, I'll tag along. Probably best to do it early on regardless. We'll be stuck here with everyone for the next month one way or another." He takes a moment to look towards the small group of disgruntled older students huddled around a piece of paper before the one girl darts off again. A small huff of laughter breaks free. "I've no doubt it'll be an interesting time if nothing else." Shoving his hands into his pockets, he begins a slow meander towards the larger population of the cabin despite still addressing his schoolmates. "Anything either of you are looking forward to in particular this summer?"────────────────────────────────

Tristan turned from his book and looked at the person he heard speak to him and recognized her. It was Ava, he believed from his Gobstones Club. He thus asked her to confirm, “Ah, you are Ava, I believe you're a member of my Gobstones Club, correct?” His expression was neutral and pleasant, nothing too emotional. As he heard her comment on the people around the room, Tristan bantered back, “A bit of an exaggeration don’t you think?” He then continued and said, “Although I must admit I am not one for small talk either.” He said this with a slightly humorous undertone and gave a slight smirk. He saw another boy walk in, slightly younger than him from what he could tell, but he walked over to another girl, so he did not pay attention to him any longer. At Ava’s compliment, he on the inside was annoyed at the continued attempt of small talk, he would rather desire direct conversation but he showed the opposite externally. Letting his eyes sparkle, he gave a smile and replied, “Thank you for your compliment.” He considered the way Ava had come straight to him and deduced that perhaps she did not know anyone else but as he would be a fifth year next year, she was too young to be a friend, but he soldiered on and asked, “I’m assuming you do not know anyone else in the cabin as you came straight to where I was. Will you be staying at camp all month?” Goldfish all these lots are but he kept his pleasant smile and expression on at all times.

Felix didn't instantly recognize any of the little pests living in his cabin when he entered with his large duffle bag slung lazily over his shoulder. There was a small group of people he cared about, and whoever these people were... Well, they weren't George, his Durmstrang crew, or a few of the other Hogwarts people he considered friends. Bleh, gross.
It was July, and the heat was present but the white-haired boy insisted on wearing another leather jacket. Because leather was, of course, meant for all leather. His shirt was buttoned down, revealing an array of metal necklaces. His black jeans had more holes in them than the surface of the moon, but they still managed to hold well enough together.
He slammed his bag down onto a random top bunk, and grabbed the latest issue of the Daily Prophet that was sticking out from the side pocket. Crossing his arms he scanned the room to check out his new room mates for the summer. Some were getting too comfortable already. A familiar looking jerk had his legs up on the couch, nearby a comfortable looking armchair. Did Felix have no other seating options? Eh, he could easily sit anywhere else. Was he going to poke at him for the hell of it? Sure, why not. Surely George or someone else would be here soon. If they weren't... Well, he'd make his misery everyone else's problem.
"Oi. Move it, matchstick." Felix grunted, attempting to use the tip of his right combat boot to shove the boy's legs off the table. "I don't want to be staring at your fucking ham feet the entire summer." He dropped himself down onto the armchair closest to the couple, tucking his wand into his jacket's pocket before opening up the Daily Prophet.

Roksana was just then wondering what she was going to be doing all camp long. There were sure to be lots of activities, some interesting, some...not as much so, but she was intent on doing at least a few. At least. She might as well do more, 30 or 31 days was a lot of time to do a lot of things rather than just lying around all day doing nothing. Roksana almost hadn't heard what Rosella had been saying about drawing, but she nodded her head in response to what she had heard.
"Everyone should be able to speak a little bit of English, but don't worry if you don't understand something because I still mess up." Rosella responded to Roksana's reluctant grumbling to introduce herself and saying that she'd only be doing conversation if they knew enough English. Roksana kept forgetting that in Europe, where she(barely)lived, mostly everyone there was bilingual, knowing their native language(s) and also English, possibly.
"Yeah, I guess so. It is most likely that mostly everyone here is at least semi-fluent in English, so I guess I have nothing to worry about." But, at least Roksana would be meeting this pack of students with two people she knew, she still had yet to get used to interacting with people from different schools and/or countries. But she was looking forward to staying at Hogwarts now, for one, it was so warm in July, unlike in Murmansk, which was practically located in the north pole.
At least she could finally wear t-shirts now. Roksana turned to Nikolai after she and Rosella invited him to join them in meeting the other members of their cabin. He agreed, and Roksana felt relieved. Roksana got up and followed Nikolai toward the larger group of students. Then Nikolai asked, "Anything either of you are looking forward to in particular this summer?" Roksana grinned. "I'm really excited about broom racing," she said. And I guess we're going to find out all about the different activities taking place here, so I'm kind of anticipating that, too."
It was true, Roksana was anticipating all the fun activities. She'd never really gone anywhere on her own for a long while, besides Koldovstoretz, of course, so this would definitely be a new experience for Roksana.

A small smile was all that Bloom had left to give to the girl who seemed to also not have their other half a part of their cabin. Perhaps this was intentional. But really, it was a sick joke for those who were seventh years and experiencing their last summer camp of their lives. Bloom remembered that they were in the same cabin last year, why couldn't this year just be the same? She watched her get her luggage and head over to the sleeping quarters. Something Bloom should have probably done the minute she walked in rather than looking at the list and now wishing things would have been different.
As she was mentally moping, leaning back on the couch next to Matt, a random person nudged Matt's leg, rudely remarking his feet. The nerve of some people, Bloom thought. Bloom sat up ever so slightly and stared him down as he went to the armchair, reading the Daily Prophet. From what Bloom could tell, he was definitely not from Hogwarts, but her gut thought some European school like Koldovstoretz or Durmstrang. The kids from these different schools were so bloody rude.
"It's a shame you didn't catch up on manners," Bloom said, rolling her eyes and leaning back once more against the couch. "I can teach you, of course, but I don't think you'd have what it takes to keep up," Bloom mumbled, but loud enough for the boy to hear. It seems that within an hour's time, Bloom had not only made an acquaintance, but also a possible enemy. What a great summer this will turn out to be.

Ava nodded at the older boy’s inquiries. She was surprised he remembered her, what with him being at least three years older than her. "Ava, that’s me."
Apparently he couldn’t appreciate a good exaggeration. She looked around at the growing crowd and shrugged. "Not far from the truth," she shot back with a grin, tilting her head at the new arrival who had just insulted another’s shoes. She would’ve continued, but Tristan added on a comment about small talk and she closed her mouth sulkily. There was no need for him to kill her vibe. Even though the comment had been said somewhat jokingly, she glared off at something in the distance instead of continuing to carry the conversation. If that was how he wanted to be, fine. She could be like that.
She didn’t even respond when he thanked her for the compliment, however rude it was. But she did cave and respond to his attempt at small talk with her own jab. "I thought you didn’t like small talk," She muttered, crossing her arms before finishing, "and it’s none of your business." She would probably remain this sulky unless someone she knew showed up, which was highly unlikely. So it seemed that you could add another annoyed student to the count.

The girl claimed that she was dating Howard White. She defined him by 'hotness' which was a subjective description, the undead frankly did not meet said criteria for him. Something about the cold embrace of death, fangs and claws that was a bit of a turn off for him. But he did know a Howard white, well he knew -of- him. Quidditch Star, in site of his unliving condition he could make an exception. That uniform really worked for anyone. "OK, agreed, he's hot," Pride commented. "Damn his probable heterosexuality." Well, that and the fact that they were sort of like cousins-in-law in that was a thing. "I've definitely seen him around," he confirmed.
First world problems Matt.
A girl he did not know was looking for a cabin swap. He would glance in her direction, some little blonde thing. She looked a lot like the other girls in the school. Why was it that most girls seemed to look alike? He was not going to remember who she was, he never even got a name before she was unpacked and ran off. It seemed like the Professors perhaps knowingly separated any potential lovers for the sake of dignity and hygiene. Merlin damn it.
"Well, we only need to sleep here," he commented as he saw the blonde walk off. "Might be good for me... us," he self-corrected. He was coming to terms with the state of his summer. The last few trips to Hogwarts he was in no state to attend to Winnie, a majority of his time as spent in the infirmary. The assertion by his uncle sounded mad but his various injuries seemed to reinforce the 'danger' that Hogwarts posed. He did not get injured with the same frequency when he was a student but as soon as he seemed to enter the grounds as of late, something terrible would befall him.
A bottle of peroxide would make his way into the room. He was not particularly unique, the black and white checkerboard look was pretty much every 'edgy' barely teen's dream. He had to go out of his way to push through Pride's legs. "I would be more afraid of magnets, bleach boy."
