Despite both coming from old pureblood families with similar ideals and political views, the two of them had almost nothing in common, and while they respected and liked each other well enough, the knowledge that they were to be married soon hung awkwardly over them. However, this was how it went in pureblood culture, and they were married without any fuss or trouble, moving into a lovely manor in the countryside of Sussex.

They did not exactly love each other, but the couple would bond over the shared experience of parenthood when their first daughter Lillian was born in 1990. Their efforts to conceive another child were in vain, so Lillian would grow up an only child – and a rather unhappy one, too, as her parents’ marriage began to crumble and arguments became common in Bellamy Manor. In early 2007, Clemence made a trip to London after a particularly spectacular argument with her husband and bumped into an old friend at the Leaky Cauldron – none other than Oliver Beckett. He, too, had hit a rough patch in his marriage, and the two were more than happy to confide in each other, accompanied by firewhiskey and rum. They shared a night together, and agreed to never speak of it again afterwards. However, it would come back to bite Clemence when she discovered she was pregnant.

She made the decision not to inform the illegitimate father of her new situation, afraid that he would make a scandal of it all. Oliver Bellamy did not ask questions and played along despite knowing that it wasn’t his. He would never ask who the father was, and Clemence would never tell.

Their second daughter, Ivy, was born in autumn, on the 7th of October, 2007. Her parents were once again united with the responsibility of a child, and this time no arguments filled the halls of the manor, instead throwing themselves into becoming model parents. It appeared that the Bellamy family had turned over a new leaf, and in 2010, Clemence had yet another surprise baby – Alison. As Ivy grew, it became apparent that she resembled neither of them, but rather her biological father, with defined features, smooth brown hair and stone grey eyes.

Lillian was 18 years her senior, and was more like a second mother than a sister to her. Despite the large age gap, the two of them were extremely close. It went without saying that when she eloped with a Muggle boy from a nearby village in 2015, leaving nothing but a note explaining herself, Ivy was devastated. Lillian’s leaving seemed to break the Bellamy family. No longer did Clemence and Oliver play the part of a perfect parent, instead distancing themselves from their remaining children in their sorrow. Ivy would take on the role of ‘mother’ for Alison, and the burdens and stress that came with being a pureblood hit harder without her parents there. Furthermore, Lillian’s letters to her sisters never reached them; their parents intercepted them, thinking that they would only cause them more pain – and eventually they stopped coming.

Despite her parents’ absence and failure to be there for her, Ivy still felt obligated to please them – much unlike Alison, who rebelled against them in any way she could. They were her [i]parents,[/i] after all, and she was hopeful – perhaps foolishly so – that if she did well enough in her studies, they would come back to her and Alison. Hence, she grew to be a rather uptight perfectionist, afraid to make a mistake for the fear of disappointing her parents.

As all young witches and wizards were, Ivy was excited when her eleventh birthday finally came, and along with it, the promising acceptance letter from Hogwarts, the only present she needed. Her existence at Bellamy Manor was a lonely one – she adored her sister, but she was starved for the company of children her own age and desperate for the freedom that would come with living away from home. She wanted to go so badly that when September arrived, she was practically bursting with longing, the nervousness overtaken with excitement. It wasn’t that she hated her life at home. It was just that it felt so empty and repetitive and meaningless, and Hogwarts – well, Hogwarts was the complete opposite of all that, wasn’t it? It was somewhere she could escape to, a place she could be away from the loneliness of home. No, even better – it was somewhere that could become her [i]new[/i] home.[/size]

The Stewarts are a very small, and now even smaller muggle family that have stayed in the highlands of Scotland for as long as anybody can remember, they have a long history with alcoholism, which lead to the death of David Stewart 4 years before Delilah was born. The family name is dying out quite quickly as it was a small family in the first place, and as Delilah has no brothers to carry on the family name. The Stewarts are known for their stubbornness, especially old Granny Caitlin, despite the fact she married into the family. She was born in the village and she is very determined that she will spend the rest of her days there too, she wouldn't move from that village no matter what. 

The Stewarts don't have a long history, nor do they have a very interesting one, they are a list of people where next to nobody had more than 1 sibling, it was said that they did this to teach children to cherish their siblings because they are the only one that they have. The history of the Stewarts is not a particularly happy one, many of them didn't live past the age of 40 due to alcoholism or just misfortune. Caitlin is considered quite lucky in the village, there weren't many people who lived in the village, maybe 50 if you round up, but the Stewarts have been there since it began. 

The Stewarts are intensely patriotic of Scotland, as most highland-based families are, to the point that if Caitlin catches Delilah talking without using the Scottish dialect, she will get yelled at for speaking like she was English, not Scottish.[/reducio][/i][/td]

[reducio]The Wilsons are an English muggle family, rather big in comparison to the Stewarts, they have history from all over the place, there are American roots, Italian roots, French roots and quite a few others. Until Karen and Aidan settled they were travellers. Delilah doesn't know if any of her family from that side are alive or not because her mother cut off all contact with them when she moved up to Scotland in 1999 for reasons unknown. They were quite a serious family, disapproving of most things fun or entertaining. Their idea of fun is spending money, they were quite a rich family that lived in a mansion around the area of Rochdale that was inherited from generation to generation to the oldest boy of the family to carry on the Wilson name.[/reducio][/i][/td]

Alasdair looks quite similar to Delilah and her Granny always told her how much she reminded her of him. Alasdair had a brother, Iain, but Delilah never met him, he died before she was born.
2.Meghan Stewart, Meghan was Delilah's Mam, she was also a muggle and also died in that car accident in 2008. According to her Granny, she wasn't nearly as close to her mother as she was to her father. Meghan had 3 siblings, 2 brothers and a sister specifically, but nobody has any contact with her family as she cut off all contact when she moved to Scotland in 1999, her family don't even know that she got married or that Delilah was ever born.
3.Caitlin Stewart, the sole survivor (other than Del herself) to carry the Stewart name. Caitlin raised Delilah and taught her quite a lot, although she has some...strange lessons.
