Sooo I need yalls opinion on something

Back when i first created my character i did a lot of mapping out of J.Vs storyline and character development. I thought of temporarily sending them to Mahoutokoro in their fifth year because I figured i'd be busy with school ooc by then though i find myself very busy currently and was debating on sending them this year. This way i have time to work on school and do some great character development for J.V and then return to Hogwarts next year.

I don't know if its allowed to send your PC to another school, but either way, I'm sure it'll be fine to take a hiatus and have an IC reason for it even if it can't be Mahoutokoro you can do homeschooling or anything else you come up with

Mahoutokoro only takes students that live in Japan, so J would actually need to move to Japan for that year. But since someone else sent their student to Beauxbatons for a year, I don't see why that wouldn't work as long as the school's conditions are fulfilled. But I assume strongly that you can't have J visit Hogwarts with the other Mahoutokoro students for NPC events and such if you do that. Hm. I'd ask a lore person about that.

To explain J.Vs story furthermore, their birthparents are japanese, and their birthfather tries to contact them and so they go to japan and attend Mahoutokoro. I thought that maybe this would be possible since as you said, there have been others that send their pc to other schools like beauxbaton. I don't plan on doing any sort of threads involving J.V actually interacting as a Mahoutokoro student, Mahoutokoro is really just a IC excuse for a ooc hiatus and for some character development.

If you're in the Discord I'd contact someone on the staff team that knows the lore better, like Pei said, who can give you a clearer answer tbh

hi!! i'm the person who sent their pc to another school. this was because i deactivated ivy last year and used the beauxbatons storyline to explain where she went. however, i REactivated ivy's account this year, and since i'm away for most of this year without internet, i thought it'd be more convenient just to keep her there until i'm back for good. i've talked to a staff member about this and i'm allowed to keep this storyline - but there are limitations; i obviously won't be able to rp her as a beauxbatons student, and the details about her time there have to super super vague, like all she did was go to class etc. i think they prefer if chars are homeschooled to avoid issues and stuff, but i don't speak for the lore team and it'd definitely better to ask them

just wanted to clarify that ivy being at beauxbatons isn't just a plot device haha

A bit complicated when it involves deactivating an account and going to another school. A lot of these cases are individual cases so I would check (and screengrab) with Index regarding your plans. One person does not speak for a whole team either so make certain that this is an official conversation with someone because a user's opinion (mine included) is not a green light for anything.

The restrictions above are a part of it yes. But there is more to it than that, if an account was deactivated during graduation you may be stuck as the same year so in this case you would have to say you perhaps "failed" or were absent for too long for instance. Going to another school for a semester (off screen) is a great means of placing your character off to the side while you are busy with life while claiming that they continued to get an education but you would need to still be active on site around graduation and be back at Hogwarts in time to graduate the year.
