I'm of the other mindset - I like seeing a variety of different faces more.
After all, in real life you never see someone with the exact same face. They may be very similar but they aren't exactly the same. Plus the face claim you choose is your own and should be special and unique. To me choosing a FC and choosing a character are the same thing. You wouldn't allow someone to create the exact same character as someone else. So if their FC is that character, they shouldn't be allowed to use the same FC either, as that's part of the character. Or else, why can't someone create the same character as you and the same name too? A FC IS part of your character.
Having the same name (like the same first name or same last name) is fine with me. I mean, in real life I even found someone who had the exact same first AND last name as me. So it is possible.
In real life you see this all the time (having the same first or last name).
But sharing the exact same FC is like sharing the exact same face. I don't like that.
But again, this is just my opinion I'm expressing. You can ignore me if you want, it's completely fine! Yes, there may be FCs that look similar to yours but they aren't the same FC. But there are millions of people out there that are awesome! I think the main gripe about FCs being reserved is that if you had a FC reserve it's not fair to all the new players because "all the good FC's would be taken by those who joined first" but since there are millions of FCs out there, who is to say who is a good FC and who is a bad one? Aren't all of them good? I'm sure you could find a good looking FC! There are lots!
Of course there is one exception to this. If a FC is claimed by someone but a new person wants to use the same one and asks permission from the current person using that FC to use their FC too and gets permission from the current person who has that FC to use the FC too, that's fine! But if they prefer to be the only one using that particular FC then that should be respected.
