Heyo! I just wanted to confirm something. So if I'm doing a thread that breaks IC rules, such as sneaking out past curfew, etc, is there a chance you might get caught? Or is the thread protected or something? I know no matter the situation you might get caught for sneaking into Hogsmeade, but does the same principle apply to other rules?

When you break rules IC, you can always be caught The prefects roll a dice on the discord server and might catch your character. In that case, you'll likely get detention.

But is there a certain time limit for how long it takes? I don't want a prefect butting in before we can at least get a short conversation in.

If you'd like to work with a given prefect, you can post in the RPG request or specifically ask a certain prefect (if you had one in mind) if they'd be okay with joining the thread and catching you, and then you could engineer how long you'd like to wait before doing so. To catch a student breaking the rules in a thread they did not explicitly agree to joining is a chance-based system where we roll a die, and it also depends on when the staff do their patrols. So we can't give an exactly solid answer to a time frame unless you worked it out with said staff.

You'll be assigned a thread OOC to serve detention but ooc you can't join in other threads but you can continue threads that you already were in until you finished the detention requirements

IC- you'd do what the teacher/prefect gives you for detention... For instance- Cody went against Willow (prefect) order and duelled even as she was there the next day, earning him detention to scrub every inch of the duelling club.

What if you wanted to do a roleplay thay involved moving all over the castle? Should I make a new thread each time we change locations or is there a certain forum for those kinds of RPs, or something else?

Um- im not sure how to answer that- but... As I Rp'd Cody's leaving- I mentioned him going from the Huffle dorm to the great hall, and to the owlery- then leaving to America- instead of doing different threads- but if you mean like- you want to do individual classes or go different locations... I'll give it a thought... I haven't thought about that before.

It depends how much moving around you were doing. It might be best to just do the RP in Corridors, and then move to Grounds if you went outside
