Character Backstory:

As a baby, Dido was adopted by Andy Bleaklane, a pureblood squib and Irene Bleaklane (née Murray), who wasn’t herself magic but her brother’s best friend (who was) briefly dated Andy and they ended up meeting through multiple mutual encounters. After adopting Dido (and naming her for the mythological queen), the family continued to live in Glasgow for several years until Dido was about six. They then moved to London, so Andy could be closer to the Ministry Records as she attempted to write the sequel to her first book, the bestselling “History of Unsung Magic: Muggles, Squibs and Avoided Conversations”. Dido grew up very happy, adoring her brilliant parents: the author and the teacher, and for a good few years, being content to just have fun.
Along the way, Dido picked up a love for learning, perhaps originating from her idolisation of her parents, and not a day went by without Dido’s insistence to acquire a new fact, skill or opinion. However, around eight, while her classmates began to read more interesting books and stories, Dido developed a passionate hatred of reading. Much to her parents dismay, it wasn’t because she found it terribly difficult, they had organised several dyslexia assessments to check, but instead she just disliked it. This caused the first and only (as of yet) innate conflict between Dido and her parents but eventually, with much “Umming” and “Ahhing” from Andy and Irene and several devoured cookies from Dido, they came to a solution. Dido loved to write. So, instead of forcing Dido to read, they instead set her off with little prompts like “Write me a story about a duck and a lamp” for her amusement or “Can you create a fact sheet about food chains?” for her studies.
As well as being a home full of books, pens and missed deadlines (Andy promised she was trying hard on her sequel), the Bleaklane household included many family pets. Old Hippo, the rat, died a few months after Andy and Irene adopted Dido, then there was Percy the tortoise who needed more space than in their London garden so had to be sent to London Zoo and then, more recently, the family has had Hellie, the cat, and Terry, the very noisy parrot. Leaving Hellie and Terry was the hardest thing, apart from leaving her parents, that Dido could imagine when she realised Hogwarts was boarding school but, deciding that they would keep her parents company, Dido convinced herself to leave them.

In fact, it was with Hellie and Terry that Dido had her first instance of magic. When Dido was 9, Dido was playing with the Hellie and shaking a cat toy for her. Hellie grabbed it with her claw and began pulling. Dido pulled back hard until, in the other room, the parrot's cage burst open, flying off its hinges and Terry flew into the kitchen, squawking loudly. No one realised that Dido was to blame and, to this day, the poor parrot has been chastised repeatedly for breaking its cage door!

Character Special Race/Talent: MetamorphamagusReducioWhen born, Iridia came out screaming like a normal wizarding baby, there didn’t seem to be anything unusual or gifted about her, she was perfect, with brown hair and grey eyes. But, a few hours later, her parents stumbled to her bassinet, and found with light blue hair, screaming her little lungs out, before her hair changed again, red, then orange, blue and back to the brown hair she had been first born with. The Metamorphmagus gift had been in her fathers side of the family, and her great-great-great grandmother had been one, but the gift had not been seen in generations, and it was thought to be extinct, but seeing her there, hair changing colours as she cried, her father was beaming with pride as he picked her up, cradling her, declaring that she was ‘the best gift the family could have gotten’
Both families, the Calathes’ and the Wyall’s now had something even better to pride themselves on when it came to the heir of their families. A metamorphmagus was a rare gift, and with the heir being the one to have it, it gave the families something to boast about. They would be respected, but other Purebloods would want to make connections with her, although as Iridia got older, she was not a fan of these meetings with other heirs, so she used her abilities to her advantage. She would change her hair colour, or the shape of her nose, or her eye colour, and go run to a crowd of children, hiding herself within them, hoping her parents wouldn’t find her. Although her tries were in vain when she was hoisted up by her mother or father, and her hair would turn a deep red as she angrily rambled at them about her displeasure or having to make new friends, preferring to play alone, or with her stuffed animals, who she thought were much better company.
Growing up with an ability was extraordinary, but also challenging for her parents, especially when they went to events where they needed her to present herself as a respectable young lady. As a young witch she had almost no control of her magic, and so she had to make sure her hair or eyes didn't change colour, or that parts of her would change size or length was hard. Any time she felt an overload of an emotion, anger, happiness, stress, worry, sadness, disgust, it didn’t matter which, led to her hair changing colours, it could go from a bright yellow to a dark blue. If she lied, her hair would go a light purple, if she was embarrassed, it would go a bright pink.
As she got older, her parents looked for an older, more experienced metamorphmagus to help her learn to control her abilities, but she was young, full of energy, and a little rebellious when it came to listening to her parents, so it had very mixed results. She could to some degree control what colours she could change her hair and eyes, or what length her nose would be, for the most part, it still happened randomly, or when she felt strong emotions, or any emotions in general, and now at 11, and in hogwarts, she is hoping to learn to control them more, but she also wants to let her abilities be themselves, as they are apart of her, and her characteristics, and she isn’t sure who she would be without them.
Character BackstoryReducioGreece, that’s where Iridia grew up for the first 5 years of her life. Her father, Linus Calathes, is the now family head of the calathes family, a Greek Pureblood family. So she grew up speaking two languages, Greek and English. Iridia was born as a metamorphmagus, something that was thought to be extinct on her fathers side, as her great-great-great grandmother had metamorphmagus abilities, but no one in generations had shown the abilities since. Her family saw her as a blessing, and confirmation that they still had the ability, and it had just been lying dormant. She grew up as an only child, and therefore the heiress to that half of her family, which meant she had a status and a reputation to uphold, but also one that she could change, and make great. It was a lot for a child, but she had been raised for it. Despite most of the family living in Greece, every one of them had gone to Hogwarts for their schooling, all of them being Gryffindors, because, as her grandfather said.
‘We only want the best for our family and heirs’
And the best was hogwarts. Her mother, Eileen Wyall, was the heir, and now like her father, family head to the Wyall family. A British pureblood family, of all Slytherins, with a dark past, killing innocents and throwing random spells at them for no reason other than blood status, something that did not better them, but that’s all the information Iridia knew, she has never got any more details than that, however she is constantly asking her mother about it, but she never has any luck with finding out more. Her grandparents and mother had been strict, and when she was born, an only child and heiress to not only their family, but her fathers too, meant they wanted the best from her. She grew up with etiquette lessons, learning family trees, their families history, the bad and good. Her mother had wanted to raise her how she had been raised, strict Pureblood values, while she did not care for much else, her father was the fun parents. Her mother made sure she had everything she needed to learn, and did not let her slack, and genuinely didn’t give her much luck as she grew. While her father and his family were the opposite, they surprisingly agreed on a lot, and one of those was providing Iridia with every opportunity possible as she grew up. So ballet lessons, ballroom dancing, languages, tutors. She grew up going to events with other heirs, making friends, or, connections as her grandparents and mother called them. Despite that, she still tried to be her best, to be herself, and do what she wanted to.
Despite growing up as an heiress, having to do things a certain way, and having to learn how to speak, walk, she still had a happy life. After moving to England at the age of 5, she was quick to enjoy her time at their new home, the main Wyall estate the family head and their family lived in, which was now her mother’s, and would be hers one day. She loved playing pranks on her parents, trying to hide herself with her abilities, especially when they were at events her parents friends held, although unsuccessfully, as her parents could always tell who she was, despite what she did to change her appearance. Her mother never liked her doing it, and led to her being scolded, or grounded if needed. Her mother did not approve of such pranks, but her father did, so she did, somewhat, grew up happy, cared for and loved, although with a dark shadow looming over one of her heirships, due to the dark past it held, and her mothers tough love, or lack of love, always holding a piece of her away.
And now she is 11, and at hogwarts, something she had been excited for ever since she was a young girl, although she knows she has expectations to uphold, two family names to better, one that may be challenging, and that people may judge her for. But despite that, she is determined to have fun, make friends, if she doesn’t get too nervous. She wanted to be able to enjoy herself, and make life long connections, maybe even find a future with someone, like her parents, if she is so fortunate.
First Instance Of MagicReducioIridia’s first bought of accidental magic happened at the age of 3, early for some, although late for her father’s line, and it came after arguing with her mother about a picture book she had wanted to buy in a small store in a wizarding village near their home in Greece. A few tears, sudden yelling, and BOOM, the whole shelf was floating, and then it crashed to the floor, scattering books around the place. But, instead of anger, her mother picked her up, payed for the damages and took her home, and shouted at how she had her first bought of accidental magic. Her whole family, well the whole of her fathers extended family had been there, and they are celebrated for her, proclaiming she would be the best heir they had, and hosted a small party to celebrate.

Part Veela. Elise has maintained a deep connection to Veela magic from her earliest years yet she cannot control this magic which she fails to comprehend. The ability exists as permanent feature which she displays through her existence. A peaceful state brings forth a soft energy which affects other people who come into contact with her. The situation causes people to feel at ease because it makes everything from their experiences to their daily tasks become simpler to handle temporarily. The way she interacts with others creates friendly conversations which make people enjoy spending time with her for unknown reasons. The effect exists as a natural and mild phenomenon which people can easily overlook because they show no interest in the details. Elise does not deliberately create this feeling; it simply happens when she is peaceful and comfortable. The complete disappearance of the effect occurs when she experiences anxiety or distress or when she becomes completely overwhelmed. The quiet warmth which exists within her presence disappears at those moments when she experiences common human emotions. Elise understands the patterns she has observed but she lacks complete comprehension of them. She sometimes wonders whether people treat her kindly or whether she has simply experienced good luck during her interactions. She has never thought about the effect as anything special because it depends on her emotional state which shows inconsistent patterns. Her connection to Veela magic can be traced back to her grandmother, who was herself Part-Veela. Elise’s grandmother possessed a beautiful appearance and a soft personality which drew people to her. People preferred to spend time with her because she created an environment where they could relax without needing to pay attention to her. Elise’s mother inherited some of these same qualities, though to a lesser extent. The traits of kindness and warmth which she shared with her mother, turned out to be weaker than her mother’s Veela traits.The present moment shows Elise starting to develop the same characteristics which her family members possess. Her grandmother shares this ability to bring peace to others through her presence although it exists in a limited and incomplete form. The way Elise demonstrates her Veela heritage shows her Veela ancestry through silent behavior which lacks the powerful attraction of traditional Veela appearance standards which show confidence and beauty. Elise likes to spend her time reading while she chooses to remain alone and connect with a few special people. She feels uncomfortable when people notice her because she prefers to stay hidden from their observation. The way she interacts with others creates a unique situation because her Veela background makes people draw closer to her in quiet ways. She shows a tendency to stay in a state of non-knowledge about the situation because she does not understand which path leads to her discovery. The family shares their Veela heritage through indirect ways which they continue to hide from others. The community understood this information but people chose to keep it as a secret. Elise has lived her life without understanding her true identity and her future capabilities. The only thing she sees about people is the way they suddenly start to listen when she talks and the way they feel comfortable around her although she cannot explain these things. At this stage in her life, Elise’s Veela heritage remains a quiet and undeveloped part of her identity. The existence of this feature operates as a background element, which she does not think about actively or utilize. The connection between them might develop into a stronger bond as she acquires new life experiences. The present moment shows her existence as a soft hidden trait which requires further research to achieve complete comprehension. The ability functions as a natural response which exists through their magical bloodline instead of serving as an active detection system.

When Elise was eight years old, she had her very first experience with magic. It occurred when Elise was playing in her yard by balancing herself on a low garden wall, and she slipped. For a brief moment, she felt like she was falling. However, before she went down, she felt something gently stop her from falling. Thomas was born on the seventeenth of May in London, England in 2014 to Edmund and Daphne Lancaster. A Half-blood he grew up between two worlds, though he is more familiar with the magical side, as his father cut ties with his family when he was younger. The absence of his muggle family never bothered him however, and he grew up with loving parents.
Thomas went to muggle school where he got to connect more with his muggle heritage, bringing him closer to his father, while on the weekends he got to help his mother in her potion lab (when he was of an appropriate age, of course), mostly by preparing ingredients or maybe by stirring the cauldron if the brew was stable.
Thomas got to spend some summers at his maternal grandmother’s house, in the English countryside, there he got to see some magical creatures, such as nifflers and in rare occasions, fairies. This led him to want to learn more about magical creatures and he started looking for books about them in his grandmother’s library. There he found a copy of Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them, and he was simply fascinated by what he saw and read. When his grandmother found him, on the floor with the book in front of him she simply sighed and let out a small chuckle, telling him he’d be more comfortable on a chair. From then on, he spent every day with the book, reading through it over and over.

Thomas had his first bout of accidental magic when he was eight years old. He was playing in a park with some muggle friends of his when they came across a beehive. His friends wanted to mess with the bees by throwing rocks at them, something that Thomas didn’t want to do. He then told his friends it was a bad idea, and that seemed to convince them, or at the very least they moved on to something else. Thomas stayed behind and for a bit when he heard a noise, his friends had thrown rocks at the hive from a safe distance, agitating the bees within. Thomas being the closest to the bees was attacked by the incoming swarm, but he wasn’t stung: a magical bubble had formed around him, shielding him from the swarm. However, this happened in a crowded park full of muggles, and so the Obliviators had to intervene.

Character backstory:ReducioSelina was born In Birmingham 16th February 20214. She lived as an only child with her parents in a small house in the center of Birmingham. Her mother a witch. her father a muggle. . Making her a half/blood. She was always quite proud having both sides. Not just pure blood or muggle born, but both. Her mother was Thai and moved to England to live with her english father. Her father always made sure to keep the magic stuff away from his own family. Her parents always expected the best from her, seeeing as she was their only child, and they themselves were quite powerful. So she always did her very best, hoping to prove herself everytime. Tho it worked sometimes, but sometimes it also wasnt enough.
She never really knew how to make friends, it wasnt exactly an ability she possesed. Its not that she wasnt confident, cause that she was, but talking was not her strong side. She was quiet and shy and always kept to herself. She never reallly had the guts to approach anybody, in the risk of looking stupid, cause that she envied. She hated being looked or called stupid. Being looked down on. Some ppl called her weird, but that was something she could live with. So she learned to be indepandant. Figuring things out on her own. Entertaining herself when no one else could. Learned all sorts of hobbies. Music was her escape route and fell in love with it. Self taught herself to play the guitar and loved singing along with songs.
She was homeschooled most of her childhood. Everything she knew she either figured out herself or her father taught her. Her parents trained her. Her mother with anything wizard and magic associated and her father muggle asoiated. Her father trained her to become a quidditch player. Throwing quaffles, beating bludgers, trying to find the snitch , which was her favorite. Her parents even took her on adittional trips around the world. Giving her the option to visit other countries, espicially Asia. She became quite clever for her age. Some use to call her a nerd, which wasnt a lie. Besides with being clever, she had a wild imagination. Used to imagine all sorts of fake scenarios in her head when she was bored. It made her quite delulu, but she didnt care. It was a place she could escape when the real world got too compilacated. She absouletly loved star gazing when she got the chance, it was her place to think in peace. To stare at the stars and the moon.
Even tho she enjoyed being by herself and her life was good she always thought something was missing, like nothing was ever enough to satisfy her.
Then The day her Hogwarts acceptance letter came. she was thrilled. She had woken up and taken the mail. She saw the mail with her name on it and knew exactly what it was. She jumped in happiness. her mother had always talked about hogwarts and how she missed it and I had waited for her's to come, and today it did. When she showed her parents. They were proud, ofc they never expected less from what they thought was the perfect child. Hogwarts was where she belonged, she could feel it. It would be the place she could prove herself show all the ppl that doubted just the slightes they were wrong. The missing piece she was looking for

His dad took him around Diagon Alley early to meet some of his friends, so he is not unknown to the people of the wizarding world. He also noticed a Niffler in Magical Menagerie, which immediately caught his eye. As he continues through Diagon Alley, he meets fellow Hogwarts students whose names are Ethan L. Young and Logan Han (real players). Anirudh and Ethan met at Flourish and Blotts and quickly bonded over their love of Quidditch and books. They then met Logan Han, who appeared out of Knockturn Alley. He seemed to be mixed in with a little bit of Dark Magic, but he also enjoyed books and Quidditch. The three quickly became friends and promised to talk to each other at Hogwarts.

Application for Parselmouth: Astria's mother (a pureblood) is distantly related to the Gaunt family, who spoke Parseltongue. That gene passed on to her mother, and then Astria. Astria discovered she could speak the language when her mother bought a pet snake, and as Astria was looking at it, she started to talk to it. Her mother heard hissing noises, and ran to Astria. That's when they discovered that she could speak Parseltongue, as Astria was the one making the hissing noises, and her mother could understand her. For fun, Astria and her mother speak Parseltongue to each other, and have a pet snake at home that they speak to. It fits her character because although she's a Hufflepuff, her pureblood mother passed on the ability.

Character Backstory: Kylie was a great student at her formal school, getting only straight A+s every day. She has photographic memory and absolutely loved reading, studying, and anything that’ll make your future brighter. She also liked drawing, designing, and yeah, almost anything. Kylie actually liked playing and doing homework alongside her sister because they didn’t have a lot of time to do things together, so they savored every moment. Kylie also had an amazing relationship with her parents, as they were very kind and always supported her and her sister. They also trained Kylie to be ready for adulthood ever since she could do math. They’d come to her bedroom every week and hand her Japanese money that equalled to 20 Pounds and then would have her give them 5 pounds (well, japanese Yan but it equaled 5 pounds) back to them for “rent” (which was obviously fake because she didn’t need to pay to live in her parents house) and Yan that equaled 3 pounds for “Tax”. All the money she paid for the “tax” and “rent” is saved up to pay off her college. Kylie’s parents let her buy whatever she wants-as long as its appropriate and she calculates and is okay with losing that amount of money . Her parents still buy her things though, like her Phone and her Watch. She is great at bargaining and also has lots of cute, kawaii outfits and stuffed animals along with her small trading toys and toys. When Kylie was at her Muggle School she got bullied by most of the other kids about her passion for work and her style. Kids also told her that her toys were lame and her snacks bland. Almost everybody hated her name, calling it untraditional, and trash. She only had four friends, but they supported each other, played together, traded, and really, really liked each other. Kylie became furious with rage, as that binder had a lot of her things that she ever had! Kylie felt a switch turn on in her brain as all the ripped paper reattached and reorganized itself in Kylie’s binder, her glasses got repaired, flew onto her face, and the kid? The kid that was bullying her went flying back, smashing into the wall! (It got her suspended for two weeks)

Robin's parents, a muggle-born wizard and a pure-blood witch from England, lived together in Inverness, Scotland after graduating Hogwarts. They were both magizoologists, but his mother studies in nature and his father prefers to be in a lab. Robin's parents share details of their work with him, also educating him on the basics of the wizarding world. Hearing so many stories about his parents' time at Hogwarts, Robin looked forward to attending the academy since a very young age.
However, they might have overdone some parts of the narration; Robin is a curious soul, but he does not, or rather "no longer" holds a passion for magical creatures due to his parents' constant oversharing. Judging by his parents' knowledge on the subject, Robin got the impression that magical creatures are plain and simple, boring, even. Instead, he puts his effort into reading about subjects that are shrouded in mystery - like the dark arts or ancient runes. In short, he is interested in the questions his parents cannot answer, and would hope to discover those answers himself one day. To devour knowledge . . . that is his ultimate goal in life.
Financially, his family is quite comfortable, so he always had the means to explore his interests by purchasing an extensive amount of books, whether fiction or educational. This gave him the opportunity to become friends with the more "nerdy" kids in his neighborhood, whom he shares book recommendations and plays games (Exploding Snap and Wizard's Chess) with. One such friend, later his only friend, is Noah Kelly. Their mothers quickly became friends after the Kellys moved into their neighborhood, prompting the children to talk to each other in small parties. Robin and Noah, both reluctant to socialize, eventually realized their shared interests and became good friends. After Noah's little brother Neil could crawl and use single words, they became a group of three.
However, they might have overdone some parts of the narration; Robin is a curious soul, but he does not, or rather "no longer" holds a passion for magical creatures due to his parents' constant oversharing. Judging by his parents' knowledge on the subject, Robin got the impression that magical creatures are plain and simple, boring, even. Instead, he puts his effort into reading about subjects that are shrouded in mystery - like the dark arts or ancient runes. In short, he is interested in the questions his parents cannot answer, and would hope to discover those answers himself one day. To devour knowledge . . . that is his ultimate goal in life.
Financially, his family is quite comfortable, so he always had the means to explore his interests by purchasing an extensive amount of books, whether fiction or educational. This gave him the opportunity to become friends with the more "nerdy" kids in his neighborhood, whom he shares book recommendations and plays games (Exploding Snap and Wizard's Chess) with. One such friend, later his only friend, is Noah Kelly. Their mothers quickly became friends after the Kellys moved into their neighborhood, prompting the children to talk to each other in small parties. Robin and Noah, both reluctant to socialize, eventually realized their shared interests and became good friends. After Noah's little brother Neil could crawl and use single words, they became a group of three.

When Robin was eight, he went hiking with his mother and got distracted by animal tracks. They were separated for about five minutes, but during this short period of time, Robin found himself facing a red deer. It was not particularly hostile, just silently standing in front of him, but he was nonetheless frightened by its size and sharp antlers. As a relatively quiet child, Robin usually gets even more quiet when nervous or scared. This time, however, his voice boomed as he muttered "Go away", startling the deer and causing it to disappear into the depths of the forest. The amplified volume of his cry was also how his mother found him shortly after. Ever since, Robin developed a fear of deer with big antlers, and in some instances antlers themselves.

Diana grew up in a fairly poor part of the city. A council house and three younger siblings. Her parents were loving, taking care of Diana and her siblings and making sure she had as much as they were able to provide. Far from well off, but instilling a strong sense of acceptance and support. Something that Diana was always glad of, even if there were moments of jealousy towards friends in school who had more than she had.
There were a number of friends that she had growing up. Whilst none were exactly steadfast friends for life, she found herself in social circles, able to be seen as "alright" to the majority of people around her, earning invites to Birthday parties and the like. Her own real rival was a classroom bully named Alicia who Diana got on the wrong side of after standing up to them in place of another, shyer kid. There was some name-calling and mild pranks that Diana dealt with from them, but nothing that ever kept her down for too long.
When she first got visited, when she first got told that she was a Witch... Diana almost didn't believe the Professor who came to reveal things to her. Though, of course, in time... she had little choice but to do so. It made sense. The weird things that happened. The uncanny luck. All of it explained how she was just a little bit different. For someone as family bound as Diana, leaving home to attend Hogwarts was a big decision. But, one that she was ultimately excited to do so.

For someone as active as she was, it was lucky in the end that Diana was a witch. Her first instance of unintended magic came at a young age, whilst playing outside. Diana blasted a ball, full force, into a nearby tree and, being an overconfident child as she was, gladly climbed up to try to get it back. Overly ambitious, she slipped, losing her grip climbing and dropped down to the ground below. Thankfully, Magic kept her from suffering any breaks on the fall, simply bouncing off of the concrete below as if it were rubber. There were a number of little instances like that growing up. Things she couldn't explain. Music playing when she was bored, or lost belongings just showing up out of nowhere. Diana always just thought she had an overactive imagination.
