i found the school for good and evil movie really fun!!!! sofia wylie, who plays agatha, is literally GORGEOUS and sophia anne caruso, who plays sophie, is amazing in her role, she's really believable!!!
plus we have the bromance between lady lesso (charlize theron) and professor dovey (kerry washington) PLUS we have KIT YOUNG!!!
i really don't mind about agatha being black in the movie, i mean, does it really make any difference to the plot? sofia is an amazing actress. they have changed quite a few plot points in the movie, since its basically the first three books combined. you should defo watch the movie kim!!

I do intend on watching the movie to see how it is but not until after I read the book(s). But now I'm not sure whether to wait until I've read the first 3 or if I should watch after I finish the first one.

Oh also, regarding movies USUALLY never doing books justice, I totally agree with you. The only one I can think of that was decent was Game of Thrones. I could never get into the books for some reason because they confused me a lot. But the series was awesome until the last few seasons. Apparently the author I think was involved in making sure everything was fine with the series until the last two seasons. And the series was based off the material in the books. But then the last 2 seasons were all original content by the people who were doing the series because the author hadn't written the last few books at the time. So that's why those last 2 seasons were so horrible and didn't make much sense. But usually series do better than movies when it's based off books because there's more time to include a bunch of things from the books in them.

Movies have a time limit of only 2-3hrs. Series can be anywhere from 10 episodes+ unless it's a miniseries in which it's usually around 4-8 episodes. But still, each episode is usually around 1hr so a miniseries would be at least 4-8hrs versus a movie's time which is 2-3hrs. And a series would be at least 10 eps which would be 10hrs vs a movie's 2-3hrs. What people tend to do is cut all material that isn't relevant to the main storyline with movies, thus why they probably cut all the stuff that made better character development and made things make sense (in the SFGAE movie). I wish it could have been a short series at least, would have given them more stuff to work with and maybe they would have included more! But regardless! I'm interested in seeing what they did to it!

Although, upon hearing it's based off THREE books and I've only read 1 I'm wondering if I should watch it after I finish Book 1 or not watch until I read all 3 books..
