Even as a toddler, Taros’s love for living creatures had always been present. He would excitedly pick up worms and frogs (among other things) to show his parents and older siblings, and would even watch birds and squirrels like they were the most wonderful things he had ever seen.

He had been five when it was discovered that this ran even deeper than expected. His family was going to have a picnic in a field near the edge of a wooded area, and while the others were distracted—his siblings playing and his parents setting out the picnic blankets—little Taros had heard a rustling in some bushes and wandered off to investigate it, hoping to find an animal, and he did. Peering into the bush, he had crouched down and set eyes on a small slithering form. Wait, come back! he said urgently, and the snake turned to look at him. He giggled. You heard me. But not only did the snake hear him; it understood. I haven’t heard one like you before, it responded, and Taros’s eyes widened. You know what I’m saying? He lay down in the grass and smiled widely, continuing the conversation with the snake.

By now, his family had noticed his absence, and his sister and brother came running up to him, intending to get him to come play with them. But they stopped suddenly when they heard it—hissing, coming not from an animal, but from their brother. “Taros? What are you doing?” his sister asked with a frown, spotting the snake. It didn’t just sound like a normal kid hissing when spotting a snake; this had a different quality to it, and the snake was looking right at the five-year-old. “Oh, I’m talking to my new friend!” he responded brightly. His siblings looked at each other, slightly unnerved, and while his brother tried to convince him to just come join their game, their sister went to get their parents.

“Taros is being weird. He was hissing at a snake and it was looking at him, hanging around instead of escaping. He said it’s his friend? He sounded kind of creepy when he was hissing, though, I don’t know…” she told them. The two adults exchanged a look, suspecting what was actually happening, and walked over to Taros. “Hey, bud, it’s time for food,” his dad said gently, crouching down to pick him up. “No!” Taros flailed. “No, put me down, I’m not done talking to him!” His bottom lip quivered and he looked at the snake desperately. Please don’t go, wait for me, I’ll be back. I can’t wait forever.

Upon hearing the hissing for themselves, his parents exchanged another glance, looking concerned. “Don’t you guys hear him? He can speak!” “Taros, come on, it’s lunchtime. You can look for more snakes later,” his mother said, trying to compromise. “You don’t understand him?” Taros pressed. His mother sighed. “No. But we can talk about this later.” Taros frowned deeply, but stopped resisting and went with them. He was distant while eating, too busy thinking about what had happened to pay any real attention to whatever his siblings were talking about. When they went back to playing, Taros noticed his parents glancing at him as they spoke in hushed tones.

Of course, this meant he was a Parselmouth. It turned out that one of his great-grandfathers had also been a Parselmouth, so it wasn’t entirely unheard of in his family, but there was still stigma around it in wizarding society at the time, and his parents were concerned for him, instructing him to keep it a secret and only speak to snakes when he was alone.

Character Backstory: Taros grew up with a lot of warmth in his household. The house could get a bit crowded during his childhood, as he is the second youngest of five children, but his parents still managed to make time for them all and were supportive.

His oldest sister was born in Spain, where their parents had lived at the time, and spent her early childhood there. When she was five, the three moved to Ireland, right before the second child was born, and they lived there ever since. Multiple languages were spoken at home, and Taros developed a love for languages very early on.

The siblings generally got along, although there was some fighting, as there was with any pair of siblings. The age gaps between some of them felt large at the time—considering there were roughly thirteen years separating the oldest and youngest—but, later in life, even those who hadn’t been close in childhood formed better bonds. At the very least, Taros had always been very close with one of his brothers, who was only one year older than him, and they had been quite inseparable.

Taros had been a bit quiet and shy in his first few years of attending Hogwarts, but he grew into himself with time and encouragement, meeting friends and professors that he was able to connect with and discovering more about his passions. He did like spellcasting, but Potions, Herbology, Astronomy, and Care of Magical Creatures were the classes where he really shone. The natural world drew him in.

By now, Taros has had plenty of experience working with a variety of things within the fields he was interested in back at Hogwarts, in particular with magical creatures of many different types. The opening for Groundskeeper came when he was looking for something new in his career, and the way it combines many of his interests made it particularly appealing, along with the opportunity to give back to his old school.

First Instance of Magic: Taros was three and happily babbling away to his parents when he excitedly thrust his arms in the air and confetti shot out of his little hands.

Character Backstory:
Wyn,‍‌‍‍‌‍‌‍‍‌ even though she was raised in a caring and tranquil environment, sometimes thought that she was caught between two different worlds. The family on the mother's side had been witches and wizards for a very long time, and they were very proud of their magical ancestors. They would not stop talking about spells, flying on brooms, and the most famous magical scholars whenever they ‍‌‍‍‌‍‌‍‍‌came. Even though they loved Wyn and were full of bright prospects for her, their happiness was often mixed with an air of quiet expectation. They assumed it as a given that she would make it in magic, that she would be the one to marry and keep the family heritage going, and that Hogwarts would be the next immediate step. Wyn was not so sure that she could be the person they anticipated. In contrast, the father's side of the family had no knowledge of magic at all. To them, Wyn was just a clever girl who would soon attend a "special private boarding school." Whenever she was with them, it was always a requirement that she be very careful—she had to be sure that she did not speak about the self-watering flowerpots or the quills that write by themselves and, more importantly, that no one thought that the plants in her mother's greenhouse were making a little noise when they were talked to. She frequently thought that she had to split herself in two: one who could talk about magic with no restrictions and the other still being silent and cautious. The fact that she had to keep the secret made her feel different, although her father's family loved her very much. Right now, with her letter of acceptance to Hogwarts, Wyn is both excited and worried. In‍‌‍‍‌‍‌‍‍‌ her thoughts, Hogwarts is the place that has endless hallways full of secrets, classes where spells are done, and you can actually see them, and other kids who also live with magic every day But she is apprehensive that she may not be sufficiently good—what if her magic is not powerful enough? What if people laugh at her instead of being nice to her? Anyway, under all her doubts, there is still a tiny bit of hope in her heart that maybe Hogwarts will be the place where she will not be able to hide anymore and will eventually find out who she really ‍‌‍‍‌‍‌‍‍‌‍‌‍‍‌‍‌‍‍‌was.

First Instance of Magic:
When‍‌‍‍‌‍‌‍‍‌ Wyn was just six, she found a baby bird lying on the ground beneath a tree in her backyard. The bird must have come down from its nest, as its wings were small and untested, and it made a very weak call, shivering in the dirt. Wyn took it very gently, but her hands were also shaking as she tried to keep the bird warm. Wyn had always been a softie, and the sight of something so small and helpless made her chest hurt. She was sitting on the back stairs, talking to the bird in a low voice, her eyes filling with tears and wishing she knew how to help it. While the bird was made to feel warm and safe in her embrace, an unusual thing took ‍‌‍‍‌‍‌‍‍‌place. The area around her seemed to get warmer, not in a fiery or bright way but in a gentle, kind glow—like sunbeams after they had passed through the leaves. The bird stopped shaking. Its very small breaths became regular, and it made a quiet, sure small burst of sound. It is not that it got fully and suddenly strong again, but it no longer looked scared. It went on Wyn's hand as if her touch was enough to make it safe. Her mother came out just in time to see Wyn surrounded by the very faint glow in the air—a sign of surprising magical power. She‍‌‍‍‌‍‌‍‍‌ did not move an inch, and her eyes were as wide as saucers. The surprise was not at the magic itself, but at the experience: calm, friendly, and comforting. She dropped down to the floor next to Wyn, softly speaking and helping her to find the bravery to release the bird to the nest ‍‌‍‍‌‍‌‍‍‌again. When they talked about it later, her mom told her that for certain people, their magic lives in their feelings—in particular, empathy. Wyn didn’t deliberately cast a spell. She was only so overwhelmed with feeling that her magic did it all by itself. And up to now, Wyn's magic has shone like a candle when her emotions rather than logic have ‍‌‍‍‌‍‌‍‍‌prevailed.

Character Backstory:
Mary was not a normal kid by normal standards. She always had pointier ears than most and black eyes (that part was normal though, but for the fact that they just looked off). She had always been a fraction shorter than her friends and was very clever, far more than both her parents combined. She had been adopted by her dad, who was a muggle, but her mom was a witch. Her biological parents were a not well known pair in London, but her muggle mother's health apparently didn't let or her wizard father be able to take care of her leading to her adoption by who she now calls mum and dad (this was from her parents, all this happened when she was still a baby). She had a pretty nice childhood as she had her father as a very influential and rich person and her mother also had quite a lot of earnings from her job at the ministry, quite enough to finance anything she and her younger sister wanted, but for some reason, neither she nor her sister were spoilt and neither of them were treated as the 'favorite sibling'. When Mary grew a bit older, she was told that she was adopted, but her sister was a biological child. Still.. that never mattered. Her parents loved her and that was all that mattered. She attended a muggle school, but her mother also gave her wizarding tutions. Apparently, it was important for her to be able to survive in both worlds.

First Instance of Magic: Mary's first instance of magic was when she was seven. She was out playing and a branch broke over her head. Even as she watched, instead of hitting her and causing injury, it slowly floated away (without any wind) and landed ten feet away from her. She was surprised, but concluded she was a witch too! Finally!

Character Backstory: Zephyr grew up in a small family farm in Swansea so his life is surrounded by fields, hills, and animals all day. They’re not rich, but they’re a close-knit family and hardworking people. His dad is responsible for taking care of heavy work on the farm while his mum handles the house, the garden, and the bookkeeping. He helps them with both even as a child. Often, he will wake up early, before sunrise, to help feed the animals or gather eggs before breakfast. He has a younger sister, Zaria, 7 years old. She likes following him around. He looks after her whenever their parents are busy working. They have opposite personalities, he’s quiet, she’s talkative, which made him a great listener but he really likes having her around. They have established a home that is simple but warm and welcoming. The kitchen always smells of baked bread or stew. When they all sit down together during meals, the house will be full of laughter. He didn’t have many friends having lived in a farm, it is a bit far from the nearest town. The kids he met were from the small local school or neighboring farms. They do have common activities such as football, climbing trees, or fishing in the nearby stream. Life was simple for them, it was quiet, very predictable, and filled with small routines until his Hogwarts letter arrived and everything changed after that.
First Instance of Magic: It happened when Zephyr was just about eight years old. It was raining that time and he was helping his dad bring the sheep back to the pen. The wind was strong, and the animals were restless and they keep on making panicky sounds. One of the lambs was able to escape. Seeing that, he shouted for it to stop and the next thing he knew, a strong gust of wind came out of nowhere that pushed the lamb back toward him. It stumbled but landed safely on the grass. He, on the other hand, stood there, in shock. What just happened? He tried to understand what just happened. His dad saw everything and from then on, he shared everything about the magical world. Apparently, his father came from a pureblood family but decided to leave that world when he fell in love with his mother. He was disinherited by his family for falling in love with a muggle so he chose to live in the muggle world since then.

Character Backstory: Anna grew up in a thoroughly non magical fashion. Her Mum was a witch yes, but she kept this fact hidden from Anna. It was apparently good for her to have exposure to the muggle world as much as possible, given the possibility she might have to survive there if she turned out to be all muggle. This would be easier if she herself had no idea magic existed. Her father knew of this plan and approved. They kept any reference to magic well hidden including any wizarding pictures and her mother's wand. As Anna grew up, she excelled at muggle school, which her parents sent her to. She skipped a few grades and was with kids five years older at the age of ten, reason being she was so extraordinarily gifted and talented, more than was required for higher grades. Her parents were really proud of her. They still kept magic hidden from her though, until she got her hogwarts letter, despite several instances of magic. When she got the letter though, her mother showed her all she knew of the wizarding world, and Anna was really excited to begin there! This was so much better than muggle stuff! (She began reading the new wizarding books the moment she got them too and had them memorized by the time she left for Hogwarts)
First Instance of Magic: Anna's first instance of magic was when she was six, and an earthquake happened when she was in the library. Normally, at least twenty books would have landed on her head, but the all just seemed to miss her. This couldn't be a coincidence, but it was explained when she found out about magic and got her Hogwarts letter

The ability to speak with serpents is something that has always been quietly present in my family, though it has skipped generations and rarely been spoken of aloud. My mother, a skilled witch but not of Slytherin blood, often told me that our family line carried certain gifts that she herself did not possess. Among my ancestors was Alaric Whitaker, my great-great-grandfather, a cunning and ambitious Slytherin who was known for his affinity with serpents and subtle manipulations of magic. Stories of him were whispered at family gatherings, never in detail, but with an unmistakable reverence. My mother never expected me to inherit such a gift; she believed it had faded over time, hidden beneath the blending of Muggle and magical bloodlines.

Yet, from an early age, I noticed a quiet attentiveness in the way I perceived the world. I would spend hours at the edges of the Sandringham estate, watching the natural movements of wildlife and, in particular, the serpents that slithered through hedges and gardens. I felt a strange connection with them, as if their movements and sounds carried meaning I could understand without conscious thought. The first real confirmation came one summer afternoon when a large grass snake became trapped near the garden pond. I knelt beside it, speaking softly, almost instinctively, and the snake paused, lifted its head, and moved away unharmed. The experience was unnerving, yet illuminating. I realized I was not forcing my will but communicating in a way that demanded attention, a subtle negotiation rather than a command.

Practicing this ability over time revealed more about myself than about the serpents. I found that patience, observation, and restraint were necessary to communicate effectively. I learned to listen carefully — to notice what others overlooked, to sense intention beneath surface movements, to move quietly and deliberately. These traits are not only essential to Parselmouth magic but also define who I am as a person: mysterious, watchful, and deliberate. I do not seek attention, but my presence is felt; I act only when necessary, and I consider every motion and word carefully.

Parseltongue suits me because it is a gift that requires subtlety rather than spectacle, strategy rather than brute force. Like my ancestors, I approach magic with patience and careful calculation, but my personality tempers this with a quiet compassion and thoughtfulness inherited from my mother’s side. It allows me to engage with the world in ways that others cannot perceive — to notice, to understand, and to influence without overt display. In learning this ability, I have cultivated focus, calmness, and an understanding that power is often quiet, deliberate, and unseen.

Parseltongue is not simply a talent; it is an extension of my nature, a reflection of my family’s legacy, and a discipline I continue to refine with care. I use it deliberately, with respect for its subtlety and potential, confident that it complements both my skill and my temperament.

Character Backstory
Reducio
Knox was born and raised in Sandringham, England, in a house tucked between the forests and the quiet stretches of the royal estate. The Whitaker home stood apart from the rest — old stone, ivy creeping along its walls, the kind of place where secrets settle easily. His mother, a witch employed by the Ministry’s Department of Magical Accidents and Catastrophes, carried herself with the same calm restraint Knox would later mirror. His father, a Muggle literature professor at a nearby university, taught him the art of observation, to read not just words, but people. Magic in their household wasn’t forbidden or celebrated. It was present, a quiet thread running through everyday life. With four children, noise was constant — arguments, laughter, spells gone wrong. Yet, somehow, Knox always found quiet. His twin sister, Nora, understood him best; she was the only one who could read him, and the only one he trusted completely. His older brother, already working as an Auror, pushed him to be brave. His younger sister, endlessly curious, tested his patience and reminded him what gentleness looked like. Hogwarts changed little about Knox, he arrived as if he’d been there before. Professors noted his calm focus, his instinctive grasp of spells, his unnerving ability to succeed at tasks he’d never been taught. He never seeks attention, but it finds him anyway — the kind of attention that comes from quiet talent.

First Instance of Magic
Reducio
My first instance of magic wasn’t flashy. No sparks, no bursts of color — just something quiet, unsettling, and a little too real. I was eight, sitting on the front steps of our house in Sandringham after a fight with my older brother. The rain had just stopped, leaving puddles scattered across the gravel drive. I remember clenching my fists, wishing he’d just listen for once — and then, all of the sudden one of the puddles began to twist. Slowly, the water coiled into a small whirlpool, trembling like it could feel what I felt. The air around me grew heavy, humming softly, and for a moment the whole world seemed to still. Then, it stopped. The puddle went calm, reflecting my face as if nothing had happened. Nora came out soon after. She looked down at the water, then at me. She didn’t ask. She just nodded once, quietly, and went to tell Mum. Mum wasn’t surprised. She came outside, placed a hand on my shoulder, and said only, “You feel things deeply, Knox. That’s where your magic will come from.”

I didn’t realize it then, but she wasn’t praising me — she was warning me.

Character Name: Cassian Morvale

Character Statistics: STAMINA: 5 | EVASION: 4 | STRENGTH: 2 | WISDOM: 6 | ARCPOWER: 8 | ACCURACY: 5
Character Special Race/Talent: Parselmouth

Special Race/Talent Application:
The Morvales’ bloodline traces back several centuries and they are known for their cunning intellect and their mastery of serpentine and defensive magics. Old family documents hint that one of their ancestors, Septimus Morvale, experimented with bonding serpents through enchantments. The Parselmouth gene is said to have manifested from him with an occasional Parselmouth in the line. For generations, the gift was seen as both a curiosity and a curse. To Dorian, it was definitely something best kept private, especially with his job at the Ministry. However, for Cassian, it became the first piece of himself that didn’t belong to his parents.

Cassian can still remember the first time he experienced Parselmouth by accident. At seven, while exploring the gardens behind their Kensington townhouse, he spotted a small garden snake coiled up on the edge of the stoned fountain. Seemed to be basking in the sun, enjoying the warmth. He crouched down in curiosity to watch it, freezing in his tracks when he realized he could understand what others would consider as hissing. However, it wasn’t really the words Cassian heard, but there was an understanding of the meaning. The snake seemed to be griping about the chill in the air when Cassian couldn’t help but respond. However, what came out while felt familiar to him wouldn’t have been to others.

He spent the rest of the summer speaking to the snake when he could, infatuated with the dialogue and strange connection between them. When his parents discovered the truth, their reactions were measured. His mother found it oddly fascinating, while his father was horrified and forbade Cassian from speaking of it outside of their home. Dorian felt that people would misunderstand such things, even in today’s time. Dorian was scared of the potential of being careless with the unique ability. While Cassian understood his father’s intent, he couldn’t help the flicker of pride he felt. For once, something in his life was finally his all alone.

As Cassian grew older, his Parselmouth ability felt almost instinctive in nature. While he always kept quiet about his unique ability, he had a private strength tucked behind the polished exterior expected of a Morvale. Everything shifted however the moment he was sorted into Gryffindor. The choice imposed on him by the Sorting Hat stunned him and everyone who knew his family. For the first time in his life, Cassian felt as if the ground beneath him was being tilted away from the path that had been laid out for him since birth. Instead of abandoning the traits that deemed him worthy of the Morvale name, he began to see Parseltongue as the one part of his legacy he could carry into Gryffindor on his own terms.
He plans to explore the gift more freely away from the rigid expectations of his household, studying serpents, their magic, and the way the language connects to deeper forms of understanding. For Cassian, Parseltongue becomes less of a secret curse and more of a private compass in a House where he feels out of place, guiding him as he learns how to blend who he is with who he is becoming.

Character Backstory:
Cassian Aric Morvale was born on the 13th day of June in the year of 2014. He was born into one of London’s oldest pure-blood families and had a childhood full of quiet luxury and subtle pressure. This was brought by an upbringing marked by tradition, expectation, and the constant reminder that Morvales do not falter.” His father, Dorian Cassiel Morvale, works within the Department of Magical Law Enforcement. He is known for his precision and influence in wizarding politics. On the other hand, his mother, Selene Vervain Morvale (née Ainsleigh) was a more relaxed and refined as a Potioneer. Her Ravenclaw upbringings instilled both intellect and restraint Together, Dorian and Selene created a household where discipline was disguised as civility and affection came in the form of correction.

Cassian became more clever, perceptive, and mischievously patient as he grew up. He had a knack for finding cracks in the rules and knew the right words to use in to wiggle out of trouble. His mother described him as charmingly impossible, while his father referred to him as too clever for his own good. Cassian learned early on that consequences would rarely land hard in a family like his, no matter the trouble he caused. The Morvale name always smoothed it over. This understanding shaped Cassian, so he began to see trouble not as failure, but as freedom from his norms.

There was genuine shock when the Sorting Hat placed Cassian in Gryffindor. Everyone, including Cassian, assumed Slytherin would claim him without question. He carried the Morvale poise, the ambition, the careful way of observing a room before choosing his next move. But the Hat saw something else beneath that calm exterior, a quiet sort of boldness that didn’t fit neatly into expectation. Cassian wasn’t loud or reckless, yet he had a steady, stubborn kind of courage that shaped every choice he made. He still carried the Morvale charm and cunning, though he used them more for curiosity than manipulation, and he still preferred to listen before acting so that his decisions had purpose. Gryffindor didn’t erase who he was; it simply revealed a different strength that had been there all along.

Cassian has the utmost respect for the structure of tradition; however, he chafes against its chains. He admires his father’s control and his mother’s intellect, yet resents the rigid expectations that came with both. For him, mischief isn’t rebellion for its own sake. It really was like a pressure valve, a reminder that he had a choice in who he becomes. He’s proud of his bloodline but wary of letting it define him. While he guards his Parselmouth ability closely, it remains a quiet part of his identity. It is a private reminder that power doesn’t always have to announce itself to be real.

First Instance of Magic:
At the age of seven, Cassian first had his rendezvous with his magical abilities. It was during one of those endless luncheons his parents loved to host. There were too many adults, too much talk about Ministry work, and too little patience left in him. In his stiff robes, Cassian had to sit pretending to listen when he noticed the giant golden-tinged floral centerpiece in the middle of the table. It was a constant eyesore and was obstructing his view, not to mention it smelled dreadful. All had could think about was the entire thing moving from his sight.

Well, it did just that. The vase trembled, then slid a few inches to the side. A couple of flower petals fell straight into someone’s soup. The room fell silent for a bit. His father calmly fixed the vase with a small flick of his wand under the table. Selene smiled like nothing strong had happened, explaining it away first signs of magic. Cassian felt his stomach flip with a mix of shock and pride.

Later that night, alone in his room, he couldn’t stop replaying the scene in his head. He hadn’t meant to do anything; he hadn’t even moved an inch himself. Something in him reached out and the world had listened. While not grand or frightening, it was just small, sharp, and completely his. That night, he realized magic wasn’t only spells and wands, but sometimes it was feelings that slipped out when you stopped trying to hold everything in.

Character Special Race/Talent: Parselmouth

Special Race/Talent Application:
It can be traced back many centuries, the Morvales’ pure-blood lineage. They were known for their cunning intellect and had an infamous knack for serpentine and defensive magics. In the archival family documents housed at the family estate, it can be hinted that one of their ancestors, Septimus Morvale, experimented with bonding serpents through enchantments. It is spoken that Septimus is the reason for the family holding the Parseltongue gene, as few with Parselmouth abilities have manifested over their sacred family timeline. To Cassian’s father, Dorian, it was something that should be kept private, especially given his position at the Ministry. However, for Cassian, it became something more tangible than his namesake, something he could call his own and not contributed to by his parents.

Cassian could remember his first time experiencing Parselmouth like it was yesterday. At the age of seven, he was out exploring the gardens behind their Kensington townhouse, playing amongst the blooming flowers. This was one of his favorite places at the time to play. Cassian spotted a small garden snake bathing in the sunlight, seemingly enjoying the warmth, sitting amongst the stone fountain. Piquing his curiosity, he crouched down to watch it further, freezing in his tracks when he noticed that he could understand the hissing coming from the snake. It wasn’t really words that Cassian was picking up from the hissing sounds, but he could understand the meaning nonetheless. The snake was having a fuss about the chill in the air when Cassian felt compelled to respond. What came out of his mouth, he would later learn, wouldn’t have been noticeable by the normal ear by known speaking languages.

The rest of the summer, Cassian spent his time speaking to the snake whenever he got the chance. He was infatuated with the odd connection that had grown between them. When his parents discovered the truth about his newfound ability, their reactions were measured. While his mother found it to be oddly fascinating, his father felt horrified and forbade Cassian from speaking of it outside of their family. Even by today’s standard, Dorian felt that many within the wizarding community scoffed at the idea of Parselmouth. His father was scared of the potential that could befall Cassian had he not been disciplined with his unique ability. Cassian did understand his father’s concern, but that didn’t stop him from feeling a great sense of pride. For a change in his life, he had an ability that was all for him to take up and develop.

He would continue to secretly forge his abilities up until he was off to Hogwarts. And with Cassian’s recent shock and disdain for his sorting, he soon began to embrace a new philosophy with his Parseltongue birthright. He would hide behind his polite gestures toward the professors while deeply desiring to undermine them at every chance he gets. A beast was now born, slowly slithering its way into Cassian’s heart and mind. This fate seals the deal on Cassian’s struggle between honoring his father’s wishes for doing great work in the Morvale name and burning a hole through the warm, cozy fabric of an environment that his less fortunate housemates have taken for granted.

Character Backstory:
Cassian Aric Morvale was born in 2014 of the zodiac Gemini, on the 13th day of June. He was born into a prominent pure-blood family that is among the older London wizard families. He had a childhood that was luxurious yet quiet and full of subtle pressure. This was due to his upbringing being steeped in tradition, expectations, and a constant reminder that “Morvales do not fail.” His father, Dorian Cassiel Morvale, works in the Department of Magical Law Enforcement and was known for his precision and influence in wizarding politics. Selene Vervain Morvale (née Ainsleigh) was Cassian’s mother and was more relaxed and refined as a Potioneer. She valued intellect and restraint, which sprouted from her Ravenclaw upbringing.

Discipline ruled the Morvale household under the guise of civility and affection manifested as a form of correction. As Cassin grew, he became more clever, perceptive, and mischievously patient. There was a knack in him for finding ways to bend the rules, and he knew the right words to utter to wiggle out of trouble. Charmingly impossible were the chosen words of description from Selene, while Dorian commonly referred to him as too clever for his own good. Consequences were not something Cassian ever feared, as they rarely landed hard on his family, no matter the trouble. Morvale had a weight to it, and Cassian felt it could smooth any transgression. He saw trouble as a conduit for freedom, not ascribing to those who felt the opposite. This comprehension of a worldview helped to curate Cassian’s mindset.

There was a disdain when Cassian heard the Sorting Hat sort him into Gryffindor. Cassian and his family all assumed it would be clear he would get sorted into Slytherin, no question. There was a certain demeanor that the Morvale family brought to every gathering. Sparked by their ambition and a careful ploy, their observation before choosing the next move was uncanny. Cassian could only imagine what befell the Sorting Hat when it declared his intent for independence as a strike of boldness to break away from the stereotypical norms. If only it had followed the choices of the witch or wizard it was placed on. For this wizard knew, while not loud or reckless, he had a steady, stubbornness about him. This could be a rude awakening for those around him. Gryffindor didn’t change who he was; it simply manifested a different strength and power that had been there all along, waiting to take control.

First Instance of Magic:
Cassian had his first instance with magic at the ripe age of seven. This would of course, happen during one of those long-winded luncheons that his parents loved to host. Cassian had had enough of all the adults roaming through their estate with all of his father’s colleagues from the Ministry of Magic. He really was ready for the whole charade to be over and done with and had little left to give in manneristic exchange. Cassian grew short of patience as he had to sit and stare at what seemed to him a hideous god-awfully smelling obstruction for a centerpiece. It was becoming an eyesore and obstructing his view from the rest of the table. Not to mention, it really smelled something dreadfully foul. All he wanted was for the thing to be out of his face.

No sooner than he thought it, he saw the vase tremble, releasing a few petals from the flowers within the arrangement. Next thing, the vase wobbled a few inches to the side as the room fell in silence from the gasps. Dorian quickly flicked his wand under the table, fixing the vase back as it was, while Selene pushed away the subject with those closest as the first signs of magic, laughing it away as casual early child mischief. Cassian, on the other hand, couldn’t be more elated as his stomach jumped in joy.

Later on that night, while he was alone in his room, Cassian could help but go back in his mind, replaying the scene. He never intended to do anything to the vase; he hadn’t even physically moved from his chair due to his stiff robes. However, something within him was reaching out, and the vase was adherent. It was just a small gesture of magic, nothing he should be too proud of, being nothing grand. On the other hand, it was completely his to own and manifest, his own power. After that night, he no longer looked at magic as simply a wand and spells, but several other variables, like emotions and innate ability. Honing those other variables could yield positive results in countless scenarios, all of which Cassian planned to be prepared for when the day comes.

Character name: Charlotte Golden
School Year: First
Does any Profile Card info need changing? No

Character Statistics:Stamina - 6 | Evasion - 7 | Strength - 2 | Wisdom - 8 | Arcane power - 4| Accuracy - 8

Character Special Race/Talent: none
Character Backstory:Charlotte had an exposure to both the muggle and wizarding world before she came to Hogwarts. She grew up in a wizarding household with her mum and dad both being a witch and wizard, but her grandparents being muggles (they loved magic though). She only knew of the existence of the wizarding world until she was five, when her parents introduced her to the muggle world and neighbours with a promise from her not to reveal the wizarding world to any of them, and to behave like a muggle. She had had quite a few lessons on muggles, and how to act like one from her parents and grandparents, and made a very convincing muggle, knowing all basic muggle school stuff and how to navigate the transport with her friends, except for the times she made a few magical instances happen which thankfully were never traced to her. She loved learning about the wizarding world too though, from her parents, who were only too happy to teach her. She wasn't the quickest student, but she was on the brighter side, and certainly worked hard. She particularly liked potions, and transfiguration, though she didn't have a wand and could only do the theory, but it was nice seeing her mum demonstrate it, and couldn't wait for the time she would be able to do it herself. When she got her Hogwarts letter, she was ecstatic! This was great! It was now confirmed that she was a witch!
First instance of magic: Charlotte's first instance of magic happened when she was six and playing soccer with the boys in her locality when one of them fouled so badly, but the team captains didn't give a damn. She got really angry at the captains, and kicked the ball hard. Normally it would have hit the opposite compound wall, but it rebounded in midair and knocked both the team captains flat on their face. She was surprised but privately thought that they richly deserved this.
