althea was born in edinburgh, scotland on may 10th, 2014. her two loving parents lincoln and rose, were very present in her childhood and they have an extremely close relationship with one another. she has an older brother, atticus, a 3rd year gryffindor. atticus is very protective of althea and is always looking out to protect her from harm. when she was 6 years old, her family moved to the countryside just outside of edinburgh into a humble cottage. growing up, she was always around animals and nature and deeply values that aspect of her life. althea grey is a rather quiet individual. her mother is a magizoologist and her father works with potions. as a child, she spent endless days with the farm animals. as a child, she went to primary school just down the road and excelled at her studies. she did not have a lot of friends growing up (besides the ones that were non-human of course) and struggled with a bit of social anxiety as she felt different from her peers. her parents explained to her that there was a chance she was magical like them and to not tell her classmates as they might not understand. when she was 7, she had her first experience with magic (see below) which proved her parents point. she was very close with her family growing up, often going on family holidays to england to see her grandparents or day trips up to the scottish highlands.

at 7 years old, there was a big thunderstorm on the farm. althea ran outside crying because she was worried that the plants would not survive the sheer amount of rain. as she sat beside them, sobbing, a single tear fell onto one of the plants and caused vines to grow and weave together, shielding the flower. it was at this moment that her parents knew she was magical just like them.
