EmmaLee frowned as she awoke and yet another pair of humans were taken down. This game was not going well for the humans. She moved into her thinking pose and closed her eyes, half listening to the others chatter about who might have done it and half trying to think through her own reasoning.

She felt really bad for voting for Aurelia, but she really hadn't had many other options than the go with her gut at that point. She started thinking through the wolves victims. Rita, Hunter, and now Akira. Who had they accused?

Rita seemed to be a first round one off. She had voted for Pax as leader and didn't say a single thing after.
Hunter had voted for Sophia to be leader. He had voted for Pax to go in the round where he died. Come to think of it, Beatrice and Bubba had voted for him to go overboard that round.
Lastly, the tragic Akira. He voted for Sophia as leader. He had voted for Aryaan and Aurelia to go.
Xailah, Della, Pax, and Emma had voted for his death.

EmmaLee found it odd that there was a three way tie between Akira, Aurelia, and Pax and Pax had ended up being the only one who didn't die. Did that make Pax the protector?

Pax, Pax, Pax, Pax, Pax. She really was just showing up all over the place. It was hard not to bring her into the suspect pool, even though EmmaLee did believe her about being the protector, but her steadfastness to have at least one vote in every round and still be alive at this point was interesting. Maybe Pax was the protector and was just protecting herself and no one else.

Maybe it was possible that Sophia did not pick Pax for the plank because they are both wolves and they knew that Aurelia and Akira were not wolves. There was solidly an alliance there. She was sure that if one of them was a wolf, the other was as well. They had both voted for each other to be leader.

EmmaLee's head swirled. Usually more of a pattern emerged by now and honestly the only think she saw was Pax. Pax as leader, Pax as protector, Pax as wolf. She frowned deeply. The votes against Pax were piling up and although she was certain that her gut was right, she felt like voting otherwise wouldn't really matter at this point. She took a deep breath and thought some more.

Who had Pax voted for? Aryaan and Akira
Who had Sophia voted for? Aurelia, though reluctantly at the time, Walter, and then broke the tie with Aurelia.

There wasn't even a pattern there. EmmaLee frowned further in frustration. Everyone's voting strategies just seemed to be all over the map. Some voting on gut and some voting on who was a popular target at the moment. No wonder they hadn't stumbled on a wolf, yet, and they really needed to stumble at this rate. She agreed with Florian and Walter, they needed to get logical about this and start debating and agreeing more.

Although EmmaLee didn't really suspect Monica at this point, but she suspected Pax even less the more she thought about it and Monica had the most votes otherwise. If Pax was lying and she and Sophia were in cahoots, they were doing an excellent job and she would have to buy them chocolates if they won. She would vote Monica and hope for hope that she was right about Pax.

"I agree with others. I am not sure why there is such a heavy suspicion on Pax and Soph-Uh I mean Captain Bluemane. They may have voted for each other, but none of their other votes match. Even yesterday Pax voted for Akira and Sophia picked Aurelia. Unless they are just trying to throw wrenches in the voting, why would they vote differently if they were partners? What if Captain and Pax are human friends instead of wolf friends?" She explained to the others.

"More importantly, we need to try to start voting with more logic and discussing, instead of just throwing out accusations like 'he talks too much' which is what got Aryaan killed. If we all can start agreeing more on someone, we may weed out those who don't want to vote for their own kind."

Bubba was still very set in his mind that Pax was a wolf. It was the only conclusion that made sense to him and no one had convinced him otherwise. That being said, he was still willing to listen to someone else and be convinced. He had listened carefully to everyone around him. Some had been good, others, not so much.

He first carefully considered what Monica had said about Sophia. Sure, the wolves could've gotten one of their own into a position. It was certainly possible but there was nothing compelling about her argument and the idea that she was a wolf just because she didn't vote to make Pax walk the plank didn't wash with him. "I don't necessarily think we can just chuck Sophia in the bin solely based on not making Pax walk the plank, just because I don't believe Pax doesn't make everyone else suspicious if they disagree."

Astrid's accusation against him was just laughable, he apparently talked too much and she was a 'professional wolf hunter' yeah, right, uh-huh, sure. "For a professional wolf hunter you're pretty shit at it aren't you? Caught any yet?" He asked in a scornful voice before rapidly continuing on, "Oh yes, I'm sorry for talking so much, it's almost like I'm trying to help us save all our lives, which in case you hadn't noticed," he pointed to the freshly dead body lying in front of them, "Are getting considerably shorter by the passing day. So in short, fuck you, and open your eyes."

And now Florian was coming to Pax's defense, that, if anything, just made Florian suspicious to Bubba. His defense was impassioned, yet unconvincing. "Well, there are two easily plausible reasons that Pax has been unchallenged as to the veracity of their claim of being a protector. A - the real protector knows it's a bluff and if they contradict Pax, they will be next, or B - the protector is already dead and can't contradict Pax."

All in all, nothing anyone said did anything to shake his conviction that Pax was, in fact, a wolf.

Not one human, but two humans. Two human's'd been slain via vote or wolf, and Bluemane was beginning to have the slightest suspicion that perhaps she was partially responsible. The ship'd voted her as the captain - which made sense, given her experience - but things were beginning to shape up exactly as they had on her last ship! A dead crew and sunken treasure seemed to be her fate.

"Not ter worry, lads and lassies. If'n me calculations be correct, there be only a small han'ful o' humans left. As the ratio increases, we'll be raisin' our chances o' deducing the wolves' identities!" the captain announced proudly.

Sure, the loss of life was regrettable, but a life at sea was not a safe one, so it couldn't be helped. All Bluemane wanted to do at this point was make sure that they took out the wolves so that she could escape with her new ship.

She shot a glance to Pax, frowning at everyone else's suspicion. Why did they suspect poor Paxie as a werewolf? The kind little demigirl wouldn't hurt a fly! Well, that wasn't entirely true. They'd hurt a fly, sure, but they would certainly not kill an innocent human! A guilty human, perhaps, but not an innocent one!

Bluemane knew what she had to do. She wanted the ship more than anything, but what use was a ship without a friend to sail with you? Perhaps there was more of Sophia Nelson poking through than she'd hoped, but the idea of having the ship without her friend was a depressing one.

"Listen up, ye scallywags. Ye be tossin' accusations at me matey Paxie and myself, an' I don't appreciate it. I trust me first mate wit' me life. If'n ye doubt us, then cast yer votes at meself. If'n I die, and ye see me innocence, ye'll know that Pax an' I are both innocent.

She crossed her arms, hoping the offer was well received. The general consensus seemed to be that of a partnership between her and Pax, both being werewolves. This was her chance to prove her friend's innocence.

They hadn't been confident with their vote for Akira, but they knew that voting for anyone else at this stage could've ensured their death. It came down to Sophia Bluemane's decision, between themself, Akira and Aurelia. It ended up being Aurelia that was voted out, and she was human.

The next morning, Akira had been killed. And he had been human.

That put an incredibly large target on Pax's back. Both the suspects that were suspected previously alongside them were gone, leaving them the obvious choice to get rid of.

The boat seemed split. There were a group of some who were strongly for voting Pax off the ship. Most others seemed, even if they didn't fully trust Pax, unwilling to take the risk. Nobody else had stepped up to claim any other roles. Many people had voiced their theories on what they believed was Pax's role in the whole affair, and it was time to address them.

First they'd state what they knew. Then they'd begin to address people's opinions. That might take a while.

"So, it looks like there's a big target on my back. Understandable. I was in the final three to be voted out, and miraculously I survived. It doesn't look great.

I will also repeat, despite Sophia's words, I am not in alliance with her. Maybe Sophia is trying to gain my favour, maybe they are a wolf trying to scapegoat me, or maybe they just trust me. But I can't say that I fully trust them, whether or not they vouch for me.

Last night I protected Bubba. Some may think I am lying since I have a track record of protecting myself. So fair enough. I protected him because I thought there might be a chance he would die. I don't know if he is a wolf. He might be.

Bubba, I really don't appreciate being called stupid. I know what I did was risky. And there is a third option to why I've been unchallenged-that I am the actual protector. But you clearly don't want to believe that, and that's your decision. So I won't waste my time on you.

Monica. Beatrice. Vivienne. You all seem to be following Bubba's decision to vote me off. I can see why, but I also think that I've made some valid points. I've followed through each night and told you who I have protected. Whether or not you've believed me. I think that I am not dead because the wolves are probably trying to use me as a scapegoat. I'd be inclined to think that one of you is a wolf. After all, if there are 15 left in total, it gives a 1 in 3 chance that somebody is a wolf. I doubt you will change your mind if you are following Bubba, but it was worth the attempt.

Tonight, if I survive, I am going to be protecting either myself or... Emma Wynn. She has been relatively quiet, and there is a chance she could be the next to go. Though, as much as I've tried to find a pattern in the kills, I'm unable to find anything consistent. She could still be a wolf, however.

As for who I will vote for, I will cast my vote to Monica. It seems she and I are in a race to see who will die first, and I think I have the right to preserve my life, whether you trust me or not. She may be human, and that will look bad for me, I don't doubt. So if she's human, I expect an even larger target on my back."

Satisfied that they'd done as much as they could, which was in truth very little. Those who wanted to vote for them were unlikely to be swayed whatever they said. They could only hope that the right decisions were made.

Silver listened to the older girl's theories. Was the captain protecting Pax because they were wolves or because Pax was the protector? What did the captain know and what was her plan? Worse than the thought of a wolf being their captain was the thought that the captain was as much in the dark as the rest of them.

But Aurelia walked the plank. A human. Silver felt guilt for sending the innocent to her death. Though at this point, the crew should feel used to it. They were no closer to discovering the identities of the wolves.

And another day, another death. Akira this time. Just yesterday, Silver considered him the enemy. In the morning madness, Xailah came to share her suspicions with Silver: Bubbles talked too much. Silver nodded. "It does seem like others agree with you, and the ship is dividing quickly into camps: Pax is the protector camp and Pax is a wolf camp. I think I know which camp we're in. But today it seems a vote against Bubbles will do little good."

Silver knew that voting for her real suspect wouldn't contribute much today, but it seems there was probably more than one wolf, so she followed in the protector's lead.

I am extending the deadline to the end of today 9/7 as Quinn has yet to post. If she doesn't post by the end of today, I will do the mod post tomorrow without her. She's returned from her busy RL and said that she could definitely post, so I am giving her a shot by giving her a day to do so.

DAY 3 - directly before night time

As before, there was much talk about who was responsible for the recurring deaths of those on board. Accusations flew but there was no proof as to who might have killed those who perished during the night time. But they couldn't just let everyone go and so those on board put it to a vote again, hoping that this time, they would finally find the killer.

This time, 4 people were nominated, Pax, Monica, Florian and Bubba.

Bubba only had 1 vote, Florian was given 2 votes, Pax received 4 votes and Monica got a whopping 7 votes. It was obvious who the majority of people on board thought was responsible for the killings. And so Monica was chosen as the culprit behind the killing of Akira and the previous unfortunate souls who had perished during the night time.

However, once again, those on board had chosen incorrectly as Monica would be revealed as a human as she walked the plank and fell to her watery death.

Night fell once more on the Chaos Demon, where the sea surrounded them and prevented those on board from escaping the ship to ensure safety. Those on board had just sent yet another one of their own to their grave. Now, there were 9 humans and 5 wolves. The wolves appeared to be unstoppable. Who would be the next one to die later that night?

Because there surely would be someone.

DAY 4

Perhaps Xailah had been too active when it came to trying to figure out who the wolves were. Maybe she was onto something and that was what had drawn the wolves attention to her. Whatever the reason was, Xailah was the one who was now being targeted by the wolves. She was also someone who showed great logic and possessed sound reasoning behind her claims. It seemed as if that made her a threat to the wolves, who wanted to put her down before she could bring more to her side. Or maybe it was just that the wolves were really hungry and Xailah was the closest to them. Who knew the real reason?

No one would ever know.

All that those on board would know when they got up in the morning was that Xailah's body would be found ripped up on the top deck. The wolves were looking forward to seeing how the humans would react to finding out they'd just lost yet another one of their members. And were eager to see what human they would take out on their own to help the wolves cause even further. Because seriously, they hadn't even gotten one right yet.

Of course, history would repeat itself again, right?

Walter was waiting for everyone else to climb up and make him walk the plank at this point. He was looking down at the body of Duchess from his little spot, not even willing to move an inch out of the nest down or up. Duchess had been the only one who he had actually trusted here, and now that she was dead, the boy at least had the solace to know that he had placed his trust in the right person.

But who else was there left for him to trust? Everyone here had been guilty of one thing or another, and ultimately, the boy didn't care who had done what or where anyone else was from.

He just wanted to be able to sail out of here alive. If the wolves were smart, they would let the kid live if only because of his importance in sailing. Most of the current crew seemed incompetent (at least to Walter), and they would need someone to sail them to wherever it was that they were aiming to go to. Otherwise, they would be lost at sea for good.

The boy didn't trust anyone anymore. He was only out for himself, just like he had been his entire younger life. Maybe, just maybe, he would try and scuttle the ship if it came down to the wire, go out like a hero, at least.

He didn't really offer many thoughts on his own, but would cast in his vote after listening to what others had to say.

Charles: Okayish... I get a bit worried when he gets close. He's certainly as strong-looking as a werewolf is.

Dealla Barfield: I doubt she's a wolf (unless Charles was). There's a high chance that as a newcomer she'll be targeted. If she's not... maybe she is a wolf. Also voted for Aryaan. It seems that Duchess and her have formed a tentative alliance. Perhaps that is for the better?

Aurelia Notresvace: Bad vibes all around. I don't trust her in the slightest. She didn't even say a word at the first meeting. Maybe that speaks to something else.

Akira: Seems strategic and collected. I notoriously distrust these types. Consider them a potential risk. He was the first to level something against Aryaan.

Quinn: Seems upset by this. Maybe she knows that she's the one doing it? Maybe she's being legitimate? Voted for Aryaan.

Pax: One of the ones that seemed to form a certain sect of voting for one another. Is there an alliance between some people here? Are the wolves working together? Why am I suspected by them? Pax claims to be the protector... but we have no way of knowing who is protected the night before, not helpful to trying to figure out the real protector or if Pax is bluffing. I don't suspect Pax, per say, but I do consider them a potential liar, and it is likely that the others do too... and if they were a healer, why wouldn't the wolves have taken them out tonight?

Xailah: Looks like a captain. Also looks shady... but I'd rather put my trust in someone who at least trusts me back a bit than someone who thinks I'm crazy. Be cautious, but also hopeful. She likes my cat! Also, it seems that she puts trust back in me, and I'm more than willing to help in whatever way possible. We both want out of the situation, after all.

Hunter: Seems a bit like me in a way that I can't quite place. May need a bit more time to assess him.

Vivienne: Quiet... cast a vote quickly and seemed unbiased. Observe. Voted for Aryaan. I think this makes her highly suspicious. Either a wolf or a sheeple.

Nessie: Also rather blank insofar as assessments. Observe.

Sophia: Impressive collection of 12 votes total. She must be liked... but maybe her voters are worth looking at for suspect (potential blending in with the crowd), even if she is a confirmed human. Duchess suspects her a lot, which I don't blame, but I (OOC) don't think that it is possible for the wolves to place one of their own as a leader (correct me if I am wrong).

Aryaan: Seems to be a voice of reason and not immediately jumping to pointing fingers. Voted for me... but still keep an eye out.

Emma: A prefect at our school, but titles don't matter at sea. May try to use the position of authority as an upper hand. Seems mostly to herself. Not a red flag, per say, but something of note.

Opelia: Strange, almost shady. I'd keep an eye on her, though a cunning mind may prove helpful in this strait.

EmmaLee: Another young one, but I don't put it past young people. They often have more wisdom than the most ancient adult. Voted with Duchess and I on Aurelia. Either a ploy to sustain trust, or maybe she knows something we don't... or maybe she trusts us.

Beatrice: Duellist, may have experience with strategy. If we determine her role, it may reveal more about how to act with her allies. I'm starting to suspect her more... though for the exact reason I am unsure.

Astrid: Seems skeptical, and is a friend of Charles'. Sounds like she suspects me a bit.. but I can't control how others think. Also voted for Aryaan. Self-acclaimed wolf expert... maybe she knows what's actually up?

Florian: I need more time to assess. Voted with Duchess and I on Aurelia, see above on "EmmaLee". I'm starting to bias towards trust. He seems willing to ration things out logically despite the chaos around us.

Monica: I need a bit more time to assess. Stay wary. Voted for Aryaan. I'm trusting her less and less.

I am certain that at least one of the people who voted for Aryaan is a wolf.
Keep an eye on these people.

Additional note, with wolves and humans reaching equilibrium, humans must all agree on one unanimous vote if we are to have a chance to outvote the wolves. Once this equilibrium is tipped in favor of the wolves, all is lost. We must get this vote correct.

Nobody is innocent.

Emma was slightly disappointed that Florian had only received two votes, namely because she now was curious if they were truly a wolf or not. The group was getting smaller, and it became even smaller when Xailah was the next victim. In truth there were not many people left, and another wrong vote could mean the difference between winning and losing.

Emma wasn't necessarily in need of a win, but she would feel disappointed if they couldn't even find one wolf in the whole group before the game came to an end. She debated changing her vote, but honestly she was stubbornly fixated now, and she really hoped that she was voting correctly.

Hopefully Pax was not tricking them by being so outspoken and casting doubt. After all, the wolves wouldn't want to draw attention to themselves would they? but then maybe that was the best disguise? Honestly Emma was helplessly twisted and just went with the path of least resistance, namely Florian.

Biting her lip, she rubbed her arms, shifting from foot to foot and wondering what would happen now. She really hoped the vote would swing the right way and a wolf would be caught. After all, it would be terrible for the whole ship to be murdered by a pack of wolves. She shivered at the imagery, closing her eyes in protest and trying to block it out but of course her brain just threw the image up more strongly.
