Interacting with @Aurelia Notrésvace
In the face of the elder student's subtle aggravation, and despite the uncertainty and undertones of lingering fear, Evelynn stood her ground. If anything, the annoyance evident in the other pupil's expression and mannerisms only served to strengthen the red head's resolve. She had the growing suspicion that there was more here than what the girl had let on. That perhaps this hadn't been some freak attack, but rather the outcome of something else. Wasn't it often said that in a murder, the primary suspects are often those closest to the victim? This notion began to solidify as the upperclassman spoke again.

I will assure you that it is unlikely that another attack from the dhampir would happen again, Evelynn repeated silently to herself after the words had been spoken. I will assure you. Possible explanations of the attack that Evelynn had previously dismissed began to tease at the peripherals of her thoughts. The only way Aurelia could assure Evelynn of anything at all was if she had information. If she had an inclination — no it had to be more than an inclination — of who had perpetuated the assault in the first place. Had she been lying, then, Evleynn wondered, when she had said she didn't know what had happened? That was beginning to seem likely. All the moreso as she continued, insisting seemingly urgently that she needed to prevent a telltale.

But…why?

Try as she might, Evelynn still couldn't understand. How was it possible that the children of this school could be so complacent with the knowledge that these sorts of things could happen? The expression of the nurse and aide hadn't gone amiss. They had been worried. And rightly so, in her opinion. A dhampir, from her limited understanding, was still terrifying. Not that humans couldn't be of course, but they were in a category of their own. How could this girl be so certain — if she was, actually, certain — that nothing further would come of it? What if once they get a taste for blood…

Her thought caught off with the wave of emotion that accompanied Aurelia's next words. Brows pinched and lips crimped in an affronted expression. Galleons? Supplies? What good would those do in a school where half-giants assaulted students at a ball, and blood-sucking demons lurked in owleries ready to swoop down upon unsuspecting prey. What had happened was wrong. And this, what she was attempting to do, was bribery.

"The only thing I want," she countered, the flint in her gaze sparking, "is to understand. You want to prevent tattling? Then give me a reason not to." Her hands, curled to fists, pressed against the sides of her robes. "You lied earlier," she chanced, growing more certain with that suspicion. "You do know who it was, and what happened."

Her gaze flicked over to where the hole in the wall had been. That was undoubtedly the effect of a missed spell. One that had likely been cast in defense. She'd had time, then, to face her attacker. To see the face. Time, even, to take aim and utter a spell.

"Who was it?" She asked, simply, her tone defiant, but steady. "How do you know it won't happen again?"
