Alumni Quidditch Spectators

____Watching an ordinary quidditch play between student-to-student is too mainstream even though the play Millie ever watched until now can still be count with only one of her hand. But now, surprisingly, in this summer camp they announced a quidditch game between alumnus. There are also two headmasters from another schools playing in the team from what Professor Weems had announced. Now that's impressive, she thought, can't wait any longer to witnessing how adults do this play compared to us students.
____Even so, Millie didn't expect today could get hotter than days before. Not sure how the players seeing this too excitedly sun bright accompanying their game, but Millie just hopes she can still watches the game as comfortable as it should be despite this scorching sun or she was forced to back down a little so that she wasn't burnt all along during the match. So when Millie saw Professor Townsend on the very front row of stand in a seemingly picnic areas, the girl hardly believe where she is right now.
____Nevertheless, Millie approaches one of the vacant spot, with her eyes still doubtfully staring at blankets, pillows, also snacks, drinks, and even popsicle ice creams alongside her. Not that she wasn't happy with this very concerning services. Rather, she felt like she might end up falling asleep with those items provided. Blankets and pillows ... but what about the fan? So in this case, Millie grab the pillow and a bottle of fresh, cold drink whilst waiting for the game to start.

Zephyr had never watched an Alumni Quidditch match before, then again, until this summer, he didn’t know there’s such a thing. That knowledge was enough to convince him to come. When he reached the stands, he was already regretting his choice of shirt. It was hot and humid that day, the walk from camp left him sweaty and feeling uncomfortable. He pushed his hair away with the back of his hand as he climbed the steps while also looking for somewhere to sit.
Due to the weather, his attention easily shifted to the drinks being handed around. He took one popsicle with a cold drink. Then he found himself a place with a decent view of the pitch. Out of habit, he brought his sketch book with him even though he was not sure yet he would actually use it. Trying to draw someone flying on a broom would be harder to do. Who knows, he might still try.
He sat onto one of the gingham covered benches and looked out at the pitch as the players began making their way out. He didn’t recognize everyone, not that it mattered a lot, he’s there to watch the match. Seeing adults back at Hogwarts was odd on its own but seeing them about to play quidditch as if they never left was more odd in his opinion. Would he want to come back and do something like this one day? Maybe...
Once the moderator’s voice was heard and the cheering erupted around him, he focused on the players. Broom racing was still more his thing. It was the speed that he loved the moment when there was nothing between you and the open air except a broom and your own ability to stay on it. But it doesn’t mean that he couldn’t appreciate quidditch because he does. Very much so.
He ate his popsicle which helped tolerate the heat. Should have gotten two… he thought internally. His sketchbook remained on his side for now. He leaned forward with his elbows resting against his knees as his attention went to the pitch. If the match was anywhere near as chaotic as the crowd, then he would be enjoying this a lot.

xx | Ahh, a weekend of Quidditch. Kahira Valerian was in her element, and she wasn't even on a Quidditch team herself yet. The young girl of hair scarlet and temper ardent had grown up a fan of the Tutshill Tornados Quidditch team thanks to her father, Aldric Valerian, never a player himself but a tangential supporter. Kahira had begged for hair bows and makeup and baby-sized cauldrons growing up, of course, as any young fashionable future potioneer would have done (the latter, of course, not being granted due to her youth), but she had also added a bedazzled Beater's bat and a broomstick to her Christmas wish list. A bewildered set of parents Father Christmas had given her the bat, at least, with a promise that she'd get her own broom once she actually made it to Hogwarts. Now, years later, many of the bespoke crystals had fallen off, but Kahira still practiced weekly with the bat, hoping that one day she'd be able to call herself a Beater for the Slytherin Quidditch team. And that day was coming soon, seeing as how her Sorting was in two weeks. In the meantime, Kahira was happy to be in attendance for each of the three Quidditch matches that would be taking place at camp this weekend. Though the Slytherin team wouldn't be playing at any of them, at least this alumni match likely had some former Slytherin players in it. She made her way into the very first row of the bleachers, marvelling at the size of the stadium around her; already the young redhead's imagination had started to run wild with thoughts of what it must look like from high above, the wind in her hair and a fresh manicure wrapped around a newly bejeweled bat. Patience, she reminded herself as she sat down and crossed her legs. Good things come to those who wait... and me, of course. As the whistle blew and the Quaffle launched into the air, Kahira clapped her hands daintily together, wishing she'd brought some sort of sign - or, at the very least, worn green to showcase her allegiance. No matter, she would certainly rectify that mistake during the other two games this weekend. She wouldn't hoot and holler, no, she was a lady, but she certainly broke out into a wide smile as she gazed upon the beginnings of the first, but certainly not the last, Quidditch match she'd ever watch in this stadium. What a joy it was to be here! |

Few things annoyed Theodore, he liked to say. He liked to say that he wasn't easily distracted, and that one couldn't get a reaction out of him that fast even if their or his life depended on it. But the truth was, he got annoyed and mad pretty fast; he was just too stubborn to admit it and let it show. Something that was true, though, is that Theodore didn't get amused or impressed; at least not as easily as he got irritated.
But one thing that he admitted amused him was the excitement or frustration people felt when watching Quidditch matches. Growing up, he only knew his aunt, Svetlana, who was a Quidditch player, while the rest of the family just couldn't give a damn about it. In their opinion, there were hundreds of more important things than sports teams winning and losing to other sports teams. Theodore, not engaging in lots of talk with her aunt and uncles, unless they were visiting them, and if that was the case, they didn't talk about Quidditch or any other sport, had established the same mindset as her parents: he couldn't give a damn about Quidditch.
The reason he had decided to watch the Alumni Quidditch game was simple: he was bored out of his mind. Summer camp wasn't what he intended to be doing with his free time, but an incident a few weeks before had immediately changed his mind, and now he was stuck here. The raven knew he could have found better things to do at home, but in Hogwarts it was much more difficult to find activities he actually enjoyed; especially when he barely knew anyone, not that he'd like to get to know them in the first place.
Theodore occupied an empty seat in the first row of the bleachers, immediately regretting it as a girl with hair as red as fire, who was sitting next to him, started clapping and smiling like crazy the moment the whistle blew. The things people do to show that they're a fan of something or someone. He wouldn't be surprised if she started cheering and whistling. Theodore cleared his throat and scoffed lightly at the reaction he just witnessed in her -and a whole lot of other people he didn't recognize.

Word Count:ReducioNotes:ReducioStatus:Speech ThoughtReducioopen for interactionHer first Quidditch match of her Hogwarts journey and Sofia was looking forward to it. As a muggle she had no clue what Quidditch even entailed but was open to learning all she could about it. And the best way to learn about it would be to watch it. Which is why she took the opportunity when it arose.
Sofia made her way towards the stand following crowds of students, she wasn't getting lost and missing the match today. She overheard many conversations flowing among her fellow students about quidditch, it was like they were speaking another language, she had no clue what they were talking about. Still she was determined to learn. She leant forward watching carefully as though she could somehow absorb the rules through observation alone. Every time someone around her cheered, Sofia glanced over to see what had happened, hoping she hadn't missed something important.
She had done her best to read up on quidditch beforehand. Unfortunately, reading about something and actually watching it were apparently two very different things. "Okay," she murmured to herself, trying to remember everything she'd learned. "Three hoops. Different balls. Flying around on brooms. Easy enough."
Probably not.
The match hadn't even began yet and Sofia was already, overwhelmed, exhausted and confused beyond the limits of confusedness. She glanced around trying to see if she could find any other confused faces hidden in the crowd, but behold, not one bewildered face stared back at her. All she could she was excitement and smiles. Her face fell, gosh, why am I the only person here who seems so out of place, why did I even come.
She rests her face on her hand, disappointed but soon enough a smile returned to her face as she saw a sign for snacks. Food! Her stomach rumbled in agreement. I have enough time to grab a quick snack before the match starts...right? Sofia didn't need anymore convincing than that and at once leapt to her feet and strode towards the snacks, with purpose and a hunger for food.
As she approached the stand her eyes widened at the wide array of options. There were far more options than she'd expected, and she found herself staring at everything with the same curiosity she'd had when first arriving at Hogwarts.
Okay... what is that? And that? Oh, that looks good. Wait so does that. THERE'S TOO MUCH CHOICE. Okay...okay, calm down Sofia just pick something.
As she waited in line to order Sofia could already tell, that even though she didn't understand a thing that was going on in the match, she was going to have an amazing time. And hey, she can always figure what quidditch is about when she starts her first year.

xx | So invested in the start of the match was she that Kahira almost didn't notice when someone came to sit near her. Almost, that is, until he cleared his throat, or perhaps made a noise of disapproval that sounded all too familiar to the young redhead, since she herself was very much a fan of the artfully disgusted scoff. Kahira turned dark eyes on him that could have, and often had, struck fear into many a lesser being. Though she didn't necessarily have a terrible presence, the Valerian spare had learned to harness haughtiness at a young age, and looking down her snub nose at people was one of her favourite pastimes. "Should you need a handkerchief for that horrid head cold," she said flatly, not even bothering to sneer, "do kindly ask literally anyone else." It was almost funny - in any other situation, had he not received her with so cold a greeting as to nearly be one of her own, the boy sitting to the side of her might almost have been someone Kahira half-respected upon first glance. Though his all-black attire meant either that he was in mourning or that he considered himself to be edgier and perhaps more interesting than the rest of the spectators (a position Kahira sincerely doubted), he had good enough hygiene and a certain air about him that often led the redhead to believe that she was in a member of her own sort of company. Perhaps it was the posture, despite his clear boredom and disdain for the sport (or for her). Or maybe there was just something else, a certain je ne sais quoi ("I don't know what"), that purebloods had and others did not. Normally, she would have liked him, almost. Emphasis on the almost. But it was clear now: if he wanted to redeem himself in her fiery eyes, he'd need to do it post-haste. |

Watching a Quidditch game away from home had never been Isla’s plan for the summer; in fact, she would rather be reading or practicing her spells. But this summer? This summer, Isla wanted to try new things, to get out of her comfort zone for once.
To this day, Isla was still not talking to her brother. So yeah, watching a match without her brother close by telling her all about it? Not the kind of plan Isla could survive without feeling hollow on the inside. Isla had been wandering around as she waited, hoping to find someone she could talk to, even if it only was to get her head of things.
She wanted food, not because she was hungry, but because even with the quidditch game working as a distraction, she would still probably remember all the events that happened before she came to summer camp. All the snapping at the smallest things triggered by her mother’s perfectionism and the ‘little’ training sessions her father gave her. Everything.
Lost in thought, she started to wander, not sure anymore if she actually wanted to stay to watch it or not. It wasn’t a simple choice; lately nothing ever was. Isla stopped when the soft glimmer of the score rings reached her sight; she wondered what if felt like. To be in a broom, wind roaring in your eardrums as you soar in the sky.
She wanted to know that experience, from the land; it looked like a graceful thing until, of course, you fell and hurt yourself badly. That was one of the mayor's reasons she stayed away from actual practice.
Isla’s brother, Ethan, had taught her a lot of quidditch, often simulation games between the two of us, and as much as Isla wanted to actually use them, she felt way more comfortable with her feet on the ground, safe from the bludgers and the game aggression she’d seen from a lot of matches.
With a soft sigh, Isla quickly joined the multitude looking for seats; maybe that could help her get her mind off things. So as people chatted around her, some already sitting, some still complaining, she looked around, trying to find an empty seat with a good stop to watch everything.
Minutes passed as she followed the crowd, looking for an empty seat. When she finally found one, the crowd was already static in motion as the game started, making Isla snap out of her thoughts and focus on the stadium, on the players, and on the game.

✰ Diana had been so focused on watching the players that she hadn't noticed someone else arriving in the stands. She also didn't notice how busy the stands has become. There were a lot more people now than when she arrived. It was only when a familiar voice called out a familiar name that her attention was pulled away from the pitch. Her eyes moved toward the sound and she saw Aaron and then she also saw Penelope. Diana hadn't expected to see Aaron or Penelope here although anyone was welcome to come and watch the game. Her eyes followed Aaron's movements as Penelope joined him and Diana's gaze shifted between the two. A small smile appeared on her face. She hadn't seen Penelope in a while but she has recently seen Aaron as she shares a cabin with him.
Diana hesitated. She had been perfectly comfortable sitting by herself and watching the match and part of her wondered if she simply should let two two of them enjoy their conversation. After all they seemed to be having fun. But they were both her friends and she didn't think either of them would mind if she joined them. Besides she was curious what they both thought about the match. Diana picked up her drink and made her way over and stopped a short distance from them. "Hi, Aaron. Hi, Penelope." Her voice was quieter than the cheers coming from the rest of the stands but she was close enough that she didn't need to speak loudly. Before looking back at them Diana glanced toward the pitch. "I didn't know you were both coming."
She paused for a moment and her eyes briefly moved toward the game again as another player flew past. "I've been watching for a little while." There was a faint note of excitement coming from her voice now. She hadn't meant to talk about the match but she'd already spent so much time thinking about it that it was difficult not to. "It's really interesting seeing it in person." Diana then looked at the two first years. "Do you two play or are you two interested? I don't think we've talked about Quidditch." The questions were simple but there was genuine curiosity behind it. Diana was still trying to learn everything she could about the sport and finding out what experience others have were useful.
She glanced toward the pitch again and watched as one of the Chasers maneuvered around another player. "I'm trying to decide whether I want to join when we're back at Hogwarts." She paused and considered her words. "Well Quidditch, Broom Racing, or Dueling." A tiny smile crossed her face. "I want to watch all three before I decide." Her eyes then returned to the match and she slightly leaned against the railing in front of the stands. "So far, Quidditch is winning." She said it almost thoughtfully as if she were keeping track of an internal score. "Although I think I'd want to be a Seeker if I did join the team." For a moment Diana watched the Seekers. "They have to notice everything happening around them while still looking for the Snitch. I think I'd like that."
She fell silent again as she comfortably and silently watched the game for a few moments. Then she glanced back at Aaron and Penelope. "So... who are you supporting?" The question came out with a small and curious smile. She wasn't entirely sure whether either of them had chose a side yet but she was interested to find out. After all she had come here to learn about the sport. Having friends to discuss it with might make the experience even better. ✰

Overhearing various conversations, the alumni were preparing for a Quidditch game. Though she couldn’t care for which team will win. Either the Nebula Drift or Battling Abraxans let them be called, peculiar names she’d mused but better than perhaps any other team names out there for sports. These were people who knew Quidditch enough to know how it all worked, the system or knew it by heart due to experience and being in their respective house’s team. Angel never fancied Quidditch but she wanted to experience the hype as the alumni gather once more. It was not just Hogwarts graduates but graduates from different schools too. That was interesting, many people once more at the stadium or bleachers, it looked more like the gladiator really the one from Rome.
On a very horrid hot summer day, Angel felt like her clothes were digging into her skin while she scowled with her mary janes clanking on the gravel the flooring of the school was built on. Simple plaided long red skirt with a polo white top to help ease cooling. The slytherin grabbed her bangs and clipped it to one side as it swayed with her delicate fingers. She was not bursting in flames which she was eternally grateful for.
The swan lass was not gifted with lanky proportions she had average height but objectively she was short in stature when put in line with other students. So she had to ask many to move a bit so she could gain clearer view. Nevertheless she was fortunate to have acquired a vacant spot though Angel had gotten a closer look than she’d imagine to but it was better than being squished in tight spaces.
