River Dolphin vs. Arapaima
Unbelievable, of all the things Evangeline had done in her life, she never imagined she would travel all the way to the amazon, or northern brazil, to play a game... capure the flag. She was excited tho, to be here with friends from Hogwarts, but also a few from the school they were now visiting, Castelobruxo. She herself hadn't met any of them yet, but she was excited to! Altho she believed most of her team was not even from this school, but believing from their accents on, a Russian school? What was is called again, drum... Dumstrang? No, that wasnt it, ... Durmstrang it was! She had heard there was more then just one wizarding school over the world, which made total sense, but she hadnt really encoutered any of those students yet!
As she was standing in their starting zone, together with her team, her thoughts dozed off.
"I wonder if they would let me bring some of their plants back home, i would love to have some of these in my collection!" She said to herself looking amazed at her surroundings. As she realised she was very aquartly talking to herself about plants again, she looked around at her team mates, wondered if they heard that. "Sorry, bad habit" rather shyly.
She brought herself back to focus, moving towards her team, wondering what would be next, where would they go, where hide the flag, and where find the flag, as soon as possible of their opponent. She clabbed it her hands softly but fast, showing off her excitement for the game to begin.

River Dolphin vs. Arapaima
The school year is drawing to a close, and the trip to Castelobruxo marks Valeriy’s final foreign school visitation of the year. When they entered their first proper year in September, they didn’t expect to embark on such voyages, let alone multiple, but here they are. The first day of the trip came and went, and today is for the game that was a motivating factor behind the international visit even happening. As it comes time for their match, Valeriy feels a mixture of emotions — mostly nerves and excitement — and their eye colour shifts to pale yellow.
The further they’re led from the school, the more at peace they start to feel. While the South American rainforest is rather different to the forests around their home in western Russia, the spirit of the wilderness is kindred to whatever exists inside Valeriy, and it settles them. They drift towards Liliya, naturally drawn in by the comfortable companionship the two typically share, and they hover near her as Castelobruxo’s headmaster gives what they can only assume is some kind of introduction to the forest or the game, though they’re not sure due to not knowing the language spoken well enough.
Frowning slightly, they make sure they’re close enough to Liliya’s line of vision and sign, {I don’t understand.} Their teeth softly work the inside of their lower lip, the movement meant to soothe themself. They hope that the headmaster wasn’t sharing anything of vital importance, though with the number of Durmstrang students (and thus Russian speakers) on their team, surely someone would be able to translate the speech.
Before the game has a chance to begin, some choose to exchange greetings. One of the students that Valeriy recognises as being from Durmstrang waves, and Valeriy waves back with a smile. There’s something about the boy that’s a bit unsettling (Terrible Presence), but they do their best to ignore it. He hasn’t given them an actual reason to feel uneasy, so they should treat him with the same kindness they offer to everyone. Another boy Valeriy’s quite sure is from Durmstrang speaks, but in English, which leaves them confused.
The Russian sentence from a girl immediately after is also a little confusing, but for entirely different reasons. Why shouldn’t they trust “the foreigners” with important things here? It’s just a game, and they’re all on one team — surely the non-Durmstrang kids aren’t that different? Valeriy shifts uncomfortably and looks at the students of other schools who are assigned to their team. In doing so, they notice a girl flipping her long hair out of her face. Pulling a hair tie off their wrist and hoping that they haven’t misunderstood, Valeriy approaches her and holds the hair tie out, an encouraging little smile on their face as they offer it to the girl, their eye colour changing to a warm green.

River Dolphin vs. Arapaima
This event is part of the Castelobruxo International Capture the Flag event
26TH OF JUNE, 2026 IN THE JUNGLE ARENA
MODERATION — ROUND ONE.
The teams were sent off their bases, and the Headmaster claimed his observation spot in a nearby tower. Since it would take a while for the teams to hide their flags, he calmly strolled through the familiar jungle until he reached the ladder. However, even to him, the nature could be unpredictable. From there, he got a birds-eye view of the different zones and the environmental obstacles that rolled in over the parts of the jungle seemingly at random. He was largely left unaffected himself regardless of what would happen in the arena.
Casually, he leaned over the edge of the observation spot, observing team Arapaima who ventured out into the jungle after discussing their strategy. The tough exterior the Durmstrang students tried to uphold, Santiago decided, was only a foil. Behind all the bravado, it was perhaps the weakest group of people he'd ever encountered in his life. When a hoard of capuchin monkeys invaded both zone three and four, only @Arno Dorian and @Ivan Baskakova in each respective zone, managed to withstand the cheeky animals playful tugs, tickles and climbing all over their body parts and still remain in possession of their wands. It was almost impressive how creatures that were hardly considered threatening had managed to disarm nearly the entire Arapaima team.
The monkey who stole @Liliya Starkova' and @Talvikki Tähti's wands lept up a tree and disappeared out of view, forcing the Russian and Finnish girl to run after it, through vines and difficult terrain until they eventually caught up with the cheeky animal. When they finally found it, the monkey seemed to be taunting them, waving the wands around recklessly, putting them into their mouth like a chew-toy, all in sight but just out of their grasp. It appeared that someone would have to climb if they wanted to retrieve their wands. The alternatives were to wait until the monkey got bored, or try to make the monkey drop them by force. Either way, the girls would get nothing else done for the rest of the round.
Meanwhile @Aurelia Valentine, @Claire Ducasse, @Aurora Coleman and @Valeriy Viktorovna Reznikov had to abandon their plans to spend the round running amok over the precatious bridges hung over the trench, in the hunt for their wands. In Aurora’s case, Santiago suspected there had been very little planning involved to begin with. Perhaps the monkeys were a good thing, to give her some cause. Unfazed by the monkeys, @Ivan Baskakova demonstrated how things ought to be done. Blocking out the distractions around him, he executed a flawless trap in zone four, momentarily restoring some dignity to the team’s collapsing image. At least someone knew what they were doing, Santiago thought in quiet approval.
The other team escaped unscathed, at least those who left for zone two and the waterfall, where the jungle had spared them for the time being. Left behind in zone one was @Tatiana Contraire, who, for all Santiago knew, had decided herself above participating under such conditions. Unfortunately for her, leaving when she was instructed to would likely have been the easier option.
A heavy, impenetrable mist swallowed zone one until Santiago could barely distinguish movement within it. From his position above, the rest became little more than speculation. @Robin Marie and Tatiana stumbled around, disoriented, meanwhile @Pamela Graham managed with slightly more success. Despite the limited visibility and Robin’s evident confusion, both Pamela and Robin emerged from the mist with one useful conclusion: they had confirmed the flag was not hidden there. Santiago would have argued that only a fool would hide a flag in the opposing team’s base, but he supposed discovering where it was not still counted as progress.
Either way, bravo.

HOW TO PLAY
The game ends when either team successfully retrieved the other teams flag to their base. Team River Dolphin will be starting the game in Zone 1 and Team Arapaima will be in Zone 4 at the opposite end of the arena. There will be at most 10 rounds, each requiring a post of 200+ words. Please make sure you include your character's stats in your post.
During the first round only, each team must state which zone their flag is hidden in to the thread moderator. You may chose to hide the flag in any of the 4 zones. The flag remains in that zone unless successfully discovered or moved through gameplay mechanics. Do not reveal in game where the flag is located.
Each round, everyone in the team must make at least one action from the Capture the Flag actions list, unless they are unable to act due to a status effect or restriction. These actions are zone dependent. The team scores points by making successful flag actions or interceptive actions towards a flag carrier. Please note that players may only move between adjacent zones and cannot skip zones while travelling.
At the conclusion of each round, the zone state map will be updated to reflect all player locations. Players may only target characters who are in the same zone as them at the end of the previous round. If a target moves out of the zone during the following movement phase, the action automatically fails, with the exception of Flag Intercept and non-magical support actions that include a chase mechanic. When performing these actions, the player automatically follows the target into the destination zone as part of the interaction.
If the action fails while chasing, the pursuing player is left behind in the original zone while the target successfully gains distance.
Rules regarding roll resolution, action priority, and other game mechanics can be found HERE.
At least one member of the team must owl the entire teams' action list to @Santiago Peralta before the posting deadline.

"Ehrm… Addie?" Robin’s high pitched voice spoke, apparently, to absolutely nobody.
Robin flashed back to the moment her friend was beside her… arms locked and pleading with Robin not to be foolish of all things. Robin had leaned into the touch, automatically clutching the taller girl closer so that she could be heard over the songs of the jungle.
Relax, she had said in her lilting Welsh accent. I pulled the Sun card this morning. We'll be alright… just stay close.
Robin had been the one to drag Adeline into this. She just couldn't help herself. This year alone Robin had traveled out of the country more than she'd done in her entire life combined. After the life-threatening events that happened at Tenūsa and the horrible hockey loss in Russia… honestly, the fact that Addie was still her friend was beyond her comprehension. Regardless of their past … adventures…. It was through pure will alone that had kept herself together up until that point. This game, alongside the intense untamed wilderness, was enough for Robin to lose herself in. She wanted to run through the jungle and explore. Being a part of something so grand and magical was a wonder, and she felt the need to be free one more time before being trapped in the muggle world, unable to use her wand. So, after the group separated to discuss their plans and hide their flag, Robin's eye caught sight of a patch of mushrooms that demanded her immediate attention. One moment she was by Addie's side, and the next? She was alone with a patch of Scarlet Elf Cup mushrooms.
That's where Robin stood, clutching her wand and looking in all directions for her teammates who she had just sworn were right there… Beautiful and unique as the mushrooms were with their vivid crimson coloring and goblet-like shape, Robin hadn't planned to separate from Addie. Her heart raced with a touch of anxiety thinking about Adeline wandering through the jungle alone, probably assuming Robin was getting up to something dumb. Robin knew that if Addie had been still by her side, she'd be just as intrigued by the shrooms as Robin was.
"Shit…" she whispered to herself, angry that she allowed herself to get distracted. Gulping, she turned to try and orient herself when a heavy mist settled upon her vision. It felt like an optical illusion, the way she suddenly couldn't see much of anything. She stumbled around, confused and lost, looking for any signs of the other team's flag just in case it just so happened to be in their base territory. She wasn't sure if it would be incredibly dumb or incredibly smart to hide your team flag in the enemy's base. She supposed it was a matter of perspective and the need to have extremely large knackers.
Robin continued this way, feeling like she traveled the entire span of zone 1 before she could somewhat orient herself, tripping on an innumerable amount of tree roots and face planting into multiple hanging veils of moss. As amazing as it was to be in the middle of the damned Amazon, she wasn't sure how confident she felt about protecting herself if she couldn't see more than a few meters ahead. It felt like far too much time had passed before she saw the outline of another one of her teammates, finally. What was her name… Pamela? Robin recognized her as being a Hufflepuff in the same year.
"Enemy flag is definitely not in there," she sighed, half annoyed that she wasted her time tromping through the jungle, but also half grateful that she knew for sure that the rest of the team was on the right track. "Swore I lost my vision entirely in there," she hunched over, rubbing her knees absentmindedly, the scrapes from falling stinging slightly. Brazil was certainly something else.

They ended up separated the moment the game began.
"Stelle..." Pam whined pitifully after the girl. No no don't leave me alone with random strangers nooo...
Pam needn't have worried. Her other teammates seemed to have absolutely no desire to socialize, which, as far as Pam was concerned, suited her perfectly. Still, by the time Pam had gotten around to dealing with the loss of the only familiar face in the team, everyone else had magically disappeared into thin air. What the... are they running for the Olympics or what?
But the blonde-haired girl did not allow herself to linger on the thought. She had had a thought she needed to confirm, and she needed to do so quickly so she could get out of the first zone and move over to thee next ones.
The next ones were bound to be slightly more interesting.
As she walked deeper into the jungle, she wondered whether the opposite team would actually be foolish enough to hide their flag in the enemy team's base. They probably wouldn't. Still, Pam figured they'd do to be safe than sorry. Perhaps--
The mist arrived soon after.
Which, in Pam's opinion, was very rude.
The girl stopped, and blinked around, "Really? I already lack direction skills. Are you kidding me?"
Within moments, visibility dropped to the point where everyone became vaguely person-shaped blobs. Great. Exactly what every socially awkward person wanted—having to guess who they were talking to.
She already struggled with people she could see.
"Nope. I need to walk on and search the zone."
And walk on she did. Carefully, all her attempts to not trip over trees proving to be futile as she rambled on in the haze. Still, it wasn't too bad. Pam would've tripped over tree roots even if the fog wasn't there. Still, the fact that she couldn't properly make out the tree roots in question was stressful. Only mildly.
Don't be a snake. Don't be a snake. Be a root and not a snake please, I hate snakes.
Eventually, she concluded that the flag was, in fact, not hidden in their zone. Man, that's almost a pity. She yawned, trudging through the rainforest, before she spotted one of her teammates. Pam knew her... probably. Was it... Robin? Pam had no way of telling.

Evangeline was a little spooked by the surroundings, but also very amazed. She had never walked such land and was far too curious for her own good. She knew what she had to do, her team had carefully mapped out their next steps so she could make it safely to the next zone, to hunt for the flag of the other team. She was curious where they would have hidden it, and how. It was going to be very hard to find it, between these woods, all these plants.
As she continued her walk, towards her destination, the next zone, she looked around carefully, at all the plants and flowers which were now surrounding her. "Oeh! Are those Açai plants!" She said as she moved over to inspect them. She was most confident since they were known to grow there and I mean the looks spoke for themselves. But she didn't trust to eat them, since she wasn't sure and wasn't really interested in poisoning herself, at least not before she had captured that flag. A faint memory flashed back from her mother bringing her Açai to put in her yoghurt every morning, and a small smile appeared on her face. As she dragged herself back to reality, she continued her journey towards her destined zone, wondering what their next step would be.

#59916f evasive maneuvers | impartial action: as strategised |
| xx | The Castelobruxo boy failed to believe that everything was going so smoothly. Almost too smoothly. There were no screams, no scuffles, no chaotic spellcasting. No traps that had been triggered by an unfortunately naive misstep, nor any snake that had materialised to coil around them. It was strange, so strangely safe. An unprecedented sense of serenity lulled over him as he pressed forward further into the jungle — and subsequently the opposing team's base and near where their flag was likely hidden — with an entourage of four other Hogwarts girls, Stelle included. The grassy, root-filled terrain abruptly dropped away, falling into a waterfall that rushed down and down and down. The waterfall was so deafeningly silent; the constant monstrous roar of the water seemed to almost engulf all other sounds, constructing something of a silent cacophany. Again, strangely serene. The resonance of the rushing waterfall seemed to be almost numbing, washing away any sense of alertness, dosing one in a pool of calm and sweeping any tenseness downstream following the flow of the river. If it were under any other situation and if it were anybody else, the tranquility was likely welcomed. It could become almost meditative, in a sense. Luuk, however, found the rainforest's lack of bizarre motion unsettling, almost as though something — human or creature — was awaiting menacingly, grotesque jaws agape and willing the unknowing group to walk straight into its grasp. "Oeh! Are those Açai plants!" The faint voice emanated from behind; the brunet turned to see a blonde girl (Evangeline) leaning towards a plant and taking a closer look — a look too close for comfort. "Be careful," Luuk warned, "never know what is there. Poisonous. Snake, maybe even." His voice was gruff and he was unsure whether the girl had heard him over the reverberating noises of the waterfall, but he hoped that the edge of urgency was not lost. He did not want to lose a teammate to the flora and fauna so early into the game, and who knew what lay behind the facade of what the girl called an "Açai plant"? Though the boy did not recognise the plant species himself, he had spent enough time at this school to understand that things in the rainforest were not always what they appeared to be. As he took careful, measured steps against the lulling background noise, it had almost slipped his mind that they were supposed to be searching for the enemy flag. Perhaps his teammates had found it; perhaps they had already retrieved it and taken it back to their base. Such was only wishful thinking on his part, however; he had to admit that he did not want the game to drag out any longer (though it had just started), and that in the menacing greenery, it was best to avoid confrontation at all. Would it not be a blessing if they were able to find and retrieve the flag without so much as having to see their opponent's faces? It didn't seem as though anything of the sort had happened, however, as there were no excited screams that signified successful location from the two girls that they had left behind to search the area near their base. |

River Dolphin vs. Arapaima
I didn't know why I had signed up for another international event, after the one by the snowy lake. I still didn't know how to pronounce the name of that school.
We had travelled by portkey yesterday, and I was still feeling sick. So, I was quite dazed when I turned up to the capture the flag game. So, I just moved alongside the rest of my team into zone 2, feeling quite sorry for myself.
But, I gave myself a shake, and reached inside my pocket for the little chocolate bar I kept there, before eating it. It was slightly melted from the heat of the rainforest, but it gave me the little sugar boost I knew that I would need. One person on my team was in the same room thing as I was, so I gave her a brief smile at the beginning of the game, but she was now still in zone 1, so I was left alone with a load of people that I didn't know. Well, one of them was a ravenclaw in my year, but I'd never spoken to her.
I looked around at the pretty river, before focussing my mind back on the game - we needed to win, to make the naseous feeling from the portkey worth it.
