Zephyr understood how she felt about her writing, as it was the same with his art. An escape, somewhere safe they could go if things weren't going to plan in the real world. And although Adora wasn't dealing with anything personal at the moment, she thought. She missed her parents a little, but who didn't? However, Zephyr had a point. "No,"she began, carefully crafting her next sentence in her head. "I'm not going through anything at the moment. I just need to decompress a little, get away from the stress of homework and noisy common rooms." She chuckled slightly at the last point. Thank you for asking. And how are you doing?" Adora only found it polite to ask what he did. After all, she was just as curious about him as the boy was to her. She turned back to her writing pad, suddenly wondering why it was he was so curious about her, and why she just gave him answers to things she wouldn't trust normal strangers with. Not to mention the fact that Adora felt a though she could trust Zephyr with a secret, knowing full well he wouldn't tell it. She wrote something; a single word on her notepad- "Trust"

Adora answered him truthfully, that she was not going through anything serious, right now, she was just trying to decompress. He knew that feeling so well, the school work can be a lot. “I feel the same way many times ever since I arrived here. The subjects are a lot to handle not just the theoretical but also the practical side of it. Don’t get me started with homework too.” He chuckled.

Adora thanked him for asking and Zephyr shook his head, “Don’t mention it.” They may not be close, or friends, since they just met a few minutes ago, but he grew up believing that caring doesn’t need any type of relationship to show it. It was supposed to come naturally to you if you truly are concerned for the person. “I’m surprisingly doing well despite the stress. The challenging part is the adjustment phase. I grew up in the muggle world my whole life. I didn’t even know magic was real until I came here. So this is all new to me and every day, magic never ceases to amaze me.”

Having an outlet is important, it doesn’t matter what it is, be it writing, drawing, listening or playing music, it could be anything. If you keep everything in your head, it’s going to mess with you in the long run until it becomes heavy. They might do it differently, but the reason was same. And sometimes it’s easier to put feelings into something than to explain them out loud. “Was it the same for you? Growing up in the muggle world and dealing with magic?” Looking outside, he was surprise to find out it’s no longer raining. It has become quiet and he didn’t even notice it when it happened! “Oh look, the rain finally stopped.”

Adora looked out past the balcony rails. Zephyr was right, the downpour had stopped. Adora didn't grow up with out magic, but she did live in a muggle neighborhood, and played with muggle friends. She remembered the grass on her bare feet, while she ran through the sprinklers in other people's yards. Of course, they would come out the front door, angrily yelling at her to get off the lawn. But she had the time of her life no less.
"I'm pure-blood, but I've lived around muggles my whole life. Played with kickballs in the street, ran through the grass, got Popsicle all over my hands. If my friends from home could see me today... yeesh, who knows what they would say about me." If only she could tell them... Several had moved away over the course of her childhood. A few didn't even bother telling her. Just packed up and left.
"Living without magic sounds interesting, though, leaves a little more room for creativity. Maybe one day I'll try to live without magic for a day. What is it like?" She picked up her writing pad and jotted down a note:
No magic for a day
She neatly doodle stars and spirals around the writing, imagining not waking up her curtains being flung open by themselves. Tried to imagine life without a major part of her daily routine. It was difficult, but Adora had always been a capable person.

[quote]Zephyr noticed the girl was more comfortable in his presence now, enough to share a bit about herself. She talked about growing up around muggles and the things she described like running outside, getting dirty and playing simple games were also things he experience as a child and who grew up in the muggle world. “That’s me growing up there too.” But then something didn’t quite add up in his opinion, his frown marred his face as he thought about what he heard. “Wait, you said you’re pureblood, right? But you grew up around muggles your whole life?”

His head leaned to the side as he regarded her with a mix of confusion and curiosity, trying to piece it together. “Sorry, I’m still new to these things but I don’t really get how that works. Most of the purebloods I’ve met here don’t really know much about muggles at all. Some of them don’t even understand basic things.” He scratched his chin while still thinking. “So how did you end up growing up like that? Was it your parents’ choice or…?” he took a pause, not wanting to sound like he was prying, just genuinely intrigued.

“That’s also why I’m a bit confused, you said you want to try living without magic for a day, but from what you said, it looks like you already did, in a way, right? Or at least you were around it a lot. Isn’t that already the same thing?” He was not judging her nor was he invalidating what she said. He was only trying to understand as it’s different from what he had seen here so far. It didn’t quite match what he thought he knew about pureblood families. “It different from what I expected to be honest.” Unless he’s missing something.

Adora was slowly growing to trust Zephyr. She liked how he spoke truthfully, with well- thought out answers. But he had slightly mistaken how Adora had grown up. Yes, she had muggle friends, and yes, she grew up playing muggle games, but her home life was very different story.
"Not quite," she began. "My mother works for the ministry, studying muggle items. Naturally, it was easiest for us to live near muggles for her job. We use magic for nearly everything at home. Our meals, our chores, even our daily routines, such as waking and sleeping involve magic." The night was quiet after the storm ended, and Adora looked up to the sky, noticing how the clouds were slowly clearing out of the sky. It revealed thousands upon thousands of stars, each one appearing to shine brighter than the next. The largest of them was not a star at all, but rather the moon. Adora tilted her head curiously, staring at the pale white ruler of the sky.
"I wonder what it's like, out there in the stars. she thought aloud, uttering the phrase at a whisper. She looked down to her writing pad. Now she knew what she wanted to write. She'd write about a journey through the stars, each a peaceful helper guiding her character to her final destination. Perhaps her character would be Adora herself. Either way, it would be a beautiful moment where the character could just... be. Before they had to go back to Earth, that was. Somewhere in the distance, a clock chimed. It was getting late.
"We should go," Adora said, gathering her things. She placed the ink pot next to Zephyr for him to grab. "We wouldn't want to get in trouble for being out after hours. You're in Hufflepuff, right? We could walk back together." Adora stood up, putting a still-ink-stained hand out for Zephyr.
