Highway to Hell
By the sounds of it, someone was struggling with the door. Silas didn’t budge, not caring to help, his eyes only opening and shifting in the direction of the door once it opened properly. He was glaring without even meaning to — before he even saw the mass of curly hair poking around the giant pile of snacks. And then the pile was dropped, revealing the face of the very girl he had just been arguing with. There’s no fucking way. “Are ya fuckin’ serious? Are there no other compar’men’s?” He hadn’t known about her belongings being here, but in looking up at her, he finally noticed something stored in the racks. Oh. “Issat… yers?” he asked, pointing at the luggage and sighing.
His gaze drifted over the items on the table in front of him, and in a flash, he had grabbed a nearby packet of jelly slugs, tucking it into his pocket in one fluid, quick motion. He rested his hands on the table, glancing over at her again. “Well… I spose ya’d be’er si’ down then. Or sod off, if ya’d prefer. Bu’ I’m no’ movin’, sooo…” So, they were stuck with each other, unless she really wanted to leave. He shifted so that his back was against the wall with the window, reclining and putting his legs up across the seats on his side. One arm was flopped over the bag that was still on his lap while the other hung down at his side, his fingertips brushing against the top of the bag on the floor.

“Are ya fuckin’ serious? Are there no other compar’men’s?” Came the immediate comment from the boy, causing her to narrow her eyes at him. "Ah should be sayin' that tae ye." She huffed out. This had been her compartment. She was the one who had hauled her bags into this compartment and her bags had been stored away quite obviously, with an edge still peeking out from where she had pushed it in half-heartedly. She had then just wanted to shortly abandon her compartment to grab some snacks, which she now had done and did not expect to be greeted with that face so soon again.
"Ah wis 'ere afore ye, so ye bein' awfy rude. Ye should be sayin' thank ye for lettin' ye bide here, ken?" She argued, even though she was very aware that her words had no merit and she did not actually care that they were now apparently sharing the compartment. “Well… I spose ya’d be’er si’ down then. Or sod off, if ya’d prefer. Bu’ I’m no’ movin’, sooo…” Oonagh shrugged and then threw herself down across the bench across from him, pulling her boots on top of the bench with her and sitting in a butterfly-kind of position with the soles of her boots touching each other. She then began picking through the treats she had placed across the table. The little thievery taking place going absolutely unnoticed by the whirlwind as she picked out one of the sandwiches and took off its plastic wrapping.
"So... who are ye then, huh?" she asked, before taking a bite off her sandwich. While having her mouth full, added. "Ah am also happy tae keep callin ye eejit, if ye prefer that." She was being smug now, raising her eyebrow as she savored the bite she had taken and sighing. Finally some food, she was sure she had been starving at that point. It took barely seconds before she had swallowed a second and third bite. Half of the sandwich disappearing within a blink of an eye.

He narrowed his eyes right back at her as she retorted that she should be the one saying the comment about the compartments to him. It was then that it had clicked that she had actually been here first, and he was indeed the intruder. His expression softened. Oops. Well, he still wasn’t moving now that he was here, and since she didn’t seem to have that much of a real issue with that fact, he made himself comfortable. He definitely wouldn’t be thanking her for “letting” him stay as she had suggested, though, shaking his head in response.
His eyes followed her as she looked through her snacks. Apparently, she hadn’t even noticed that she was missing something, and he certainly wasn’t going to point it out. A smirk appeared on his face — it was always nice to get away with taking something. He was in half a mind to continue taking things until she noticed, but he didn’t feel it was really necessary. He could settle for the pack of jelly slugs — for now, at least. It was already much better than stealing a random envelope, or, more accurately, epically failing to steal a random envelope. He was actually guaranteed sweets this way as well as proving to himself that he could, in fact, still steal successfully.
The girl seemed a lot calmer now that she had her food, and she had proven that she could easily hold her own, so maybe they could get along now. She definitely seemed like she wouldn’t be a boring companion for the long, otherwise boring train ride to wherever the hell in Scotland Hogwarts was. “So… who are ye then, huh?” “Ya mean me name? Silas. Yers?” She offered to keep calling him an idiot instead and he snorted. “Nah, Silas works perfec’ly fine.” With mild amusement, he watched her devour the sandwich. “D’ya even stop ter chew?” he questioned teasingly, as if he wouldn’t be eating it equally as quickly.

After their momentary moment of staring each other down with narrowed eyes, the mood within the compartment seemed to shift, almost to a relaxed level. As the two grumpy teenagers settled down into their corners of the compartment, it felt actually kind of chill to Oogie. She was still feeling kind of grumpy about the whole ride back to the castle and the extra way and having to leave behind all of her electronic devices. She would have absolutely loved to just put on a pair of headphones right now and blast some music while she went through her snacks. But well maybe her company wasn't the worst, right? Well actually, she would have to give it time to make that judgement, he had been awfully annoying after all.
“Ya mean me name? Silas. Yers?” Silas. She frowned slightly as she regarded the boy now that she had a name to put to his face. She felt the name was suitable enough, perhaps, but was absolutely sure it was replaceable with various insults she would throw at him in its stead, if he continued bothering her or if there were more encounters between them than this one. "The name is Oonagh," she responded, before taking another giant bite out of her sandwich. It felt good to be eating it, she had been feeling quite hungry.
“Nah, Silas works perfec’ly fine.” Oonagh snorted. "We will see aboot that winna we," she responded, mischief resonating within her words as she grinned into her sandwich. “D’ya even stop ter chew?” he asked and Oonagh quickly reached for a wrapped sticky caramel bonbon and chucked it at the boy. "Na, just tae pick fights,". She focused back onto her food and another bite devoured within seconds, the sandwich almost done at this point. Meanwhile Oonagh was staring at her other snacks, considering which of them she would try once the sandwich had done its job. She figured opening a pack of crackers or some bag of candy wouldn't hurt.

She frowned after he gave his name and he raised an eyebrow. “Ya go’ a problem wif tha’ or summat?” In between bites, she responded that her name was Oonagh. Huh. He had never heard that name before. For whatever reason, he felt like it suited her to have an uncommon name. “Well, I’d say it’s nice ter mee’ ya, Oonagh, but tha’ migh’ be goin’ a bi’ far,” he commented lightheartedly, smirking at her. What he thought of her had yet to solidify, but he was cautiously optimistic now that they seemed to be settling into more casual banter.
He had a feeling that if they met again, there was a decent chance that she wouldn’t be using his name, especially given what she had just said about having to see. His eyes narrowed at her mischievous grin, suspicious of what alternatives she might have in mind — although he was sure he had plenty he could use for her, too. When he very innocently and totally genuinely asked if she was chewing her food, she threw something at him. Reacting quickly, he caught it smoothly, grinning as he looked it over in his hand. “Na, just tae pick fights.” He laughed. “You? Pickin’ figh’s?” He fake gasped. “Wouldn’ have guessed.”
