This time he wasn’t that weirded out by the hand touch on his head as he was with the hand taking before, and in fact let Damien pat his head. Maybe it was because Damien behaved almost as an older brother and was so happy to potentially see the twins in Ravenclaw with him, but something made Jules trust him a little bit more, and also his talking was becoming warmer and less distant.
“Oh, I see. It looks fantastic, really.” He commented on the view of the common room, that Jules already knew from the telling of his relatives, but looked a lot more promising from Damien’s words. He wondered if everyone thought this high of their houses, or if Ravenclaw was really that interesting. He still had no clue about his future house, but surely a future in Ravenclaw sounded nice.
“Some of my cousins went into Ravenclaw… actually, lots of my relatives who live in Scotland are ex Ravenclaws.” He explained, trying to count them on his fingers to trace how many of them were still in school and could have helped the twins once sorted. The Pollux family was a pure-blood family, so naturally everyone went to a magical school; but the ones living in Scotland and England were a minority, and the ones that were born there and enrolled in Hogwarts were even less.
“My parents went to Beauxbatons.” He nodded, but he wasn’t too much sad about it: he was as excited to attend Hogwarts as any other magical school, no matter the country. Surely he was more confident with French, but he had indeed a good capacity of speaking English too. He was just a bit worried about the subjects he was going to be studying from next September, and hoped Damien could point the most difficult ones, but unfortunately – or fortunately – he didn’t seem to have any issue with them.
“Oh, wow. You must be one of the top students, then.” He guesses, letting a small smile show on his face.

Damien just chuckled quietly at that before smiling at that. “If you think it sounds fantastic well then I’d be happy to show you and your sister the astronomy tower sometime! I’m one of professor McCorie interns so I have access to the tower when I want peace and quiet to watch the stars”He said sighing softly as he was quite pleased with that as it helped him escape reality and just relax. Damien continued to listen to Jules speak as he found it interesting that most of his cousins were all in Ravenclaw, this fueled his hope that both him and his sister would join him in Ravenclaw. “Well look at that you you got yourself a whole family of ravens” He said laughing to himself as he was having pretty fun. He continued to listen to Jules tell him about his family like how his cousins are from Scotland and how his parents were both from Beauxbatons which Damien found quite interesting as he never seen a lot of students from Beauxbatons but he thought it was pretty cool. But that wasn’t even the most exciting part as he got more excited when Jules said he must be top of his class. “Ha yeah I mean I guess I did get second place for house points last year to help my house win our house cup so it was quite a fun experience!” He laughed as he found that he kinda enjoyed doing assignments and homework so he was truly a Ravenclaw. |

Jules’ eyes shined a little bit when Damien mentioned the tower and the possibility of looking at the stars in peace and quietness. He loved his family and especially his sister, but sometimes things were just too loud, and he had wished many times to just have a place to be in silence and enjoy the nature: Ravenclaw’s tower sounded exactly like that place, and he truly hoped Damien would show it to him someday.
“Oh, that would be amazing. I’ve always loved looking at the stars.” he replied, still soft in the tone but clearly happier and eager to know more about it. “But we can only access it if we are Ravenclaws, right?” he then asked, thinking about at the time he still wasn’t sure about his house. He really thought he was a good fit for Ravenclaw, but what if the sorting hat decided he fitted better in Hufflepuff? Or what if for some reason he ended up in Slytherin?
“Well, yes. I wouldn’t call it the whole family, but surely a lot of people.” he then confirmed, hearing how Damien was already so excited to have him onboard. He really seemed like a nice guy to have as a mentor, or something like that, and surely if Jules ended up in Ravenclaw they would have had the best of fun together.
Damien then confirmed to be one of the top students there, getting in second place for how many points he made Ravenclaw earn with his work. “Oh, wow, really? I would like to be one of the top students, one day.” Jules mentioned, quickly adding “I mean, not that I’m that good… but I’ll do my best.” a bit more embarrassed, almost as if he expected some sort of bad reaction from Damien.

Damien chuckled softly as he immediately noticed the way Jules eyes lite up at the mention of seeing the stars, as Damien felt a strong connection to Jules like he was looking at a younger version of himself almost. “It is very cool! And yes you’d have to be a Ravenclaw to see them from ravenclaw tower but if you and your sister would like I am a astronomy intern for professor McCorie that’s our astronomy professor at Hogwarts so I could take yall to the tower so you’d get a better look at the stars” He said smiling as he loved sharing his knowledges of the constellation and astronomy with others especially the new first years as he liked teaching them everything he knew. “Still pretty cool if you think about it most of your family has been in Ravenclaw kinda like most of mine has been in Gryffindor but me and my cousins are in Ravenclaw and Hufflepuff so you never know!” He said smiling as even though they only met last year at Hogwarts he was quite fond of his cousins Axyen. Damien smile grew even wider as he liked the idea of Jules becoming one of the top students in Hogwarts. “I mean there aren’t any perks other than getting some stuff from time to time but I believe in you man! I can see you becoming one of the top students in all of Hogwarts and even surpassing me!” |

Damien was right, Jules’ eyes were really sparkling while talking about astronomy: something about the stars and the infinite universe above them really fascinated him, and it wasn’t rare for him to sit outside his house or on the rooftop just to catch some stars and spend a few hours in their company.
When he heard he could have visited the tower even if he wasn’t a Ravenclaw just by becoming an intern. “Oh, that sounds like a wonderful idea. I will ask my sister what she thinks of it and maybe we could join.” he replied, nodding at Damien’s offer of bringing them with him one night. Of course, if they ended up in Ravenclaw that wouldn’t have been necessary, but that was going to be a topic for later.
“Ah, right. We’ll see in September I guess, but I’m sure me and my sister will be sorted in the same house, whatever it will be.” he replied about the possibility of being sorted in different houses than their family, but he was more than sure that the twins weren’t going to be separated. Not that he had any proof to support his theory, but he simply refused to think about the next seven years of his live apart from his sister.
His cheeks became again of a more reddish color when he heard about how Damien thought he could really surpass him. Jules was smart, of course, but he never thought of himself as a top student. “Ah, I wouldn’t be too sure about that… but I’ll try my best and make the house I’m in proud of my work.” He replied with his gaze on the floor, slightly embarrassed.
He curled his fingers around the book of poems that made the two meet in the first place, and realized he had no idea how much time he had spent inside the bookshop, trying to find his books. It was probably time to wrap the conversation up and speed up a little bit, that’s why he nodded and announced “I think I should be going now. Thank you for letting me get the book.” And with a final wave of goodbye he said “See you at school.” Before going and look out for his sister and finish his errands.

Damien just gave Jules a soft smile as he enjoyed seeing how much the younger boy enjoyed Astronomy it was truly amazing as it reminded him alot of himself and his love for astronomy so that gave him hope that Jules would do very good in school especially Astronomy class. “Yeah asking your sister sounds like a splendid idea as if she likes astronomy as much as you do I think you both could truly enjoy it!” He said while flashing him a smile. The more Damien talked to Jules the more he viewed him as a little brother, like he was someone who he needed to protect at all cost. He didn’t understand why he was feeling that way he just did. Damien just smiled as he loved how hopefully and optimistic Jules was as no matter what he truly believed that they would be sorted into the same house and Damien hoped that was the case as it would be good to have someone your familiar with in the same house especially if Jules is anything like how he was in his first year he was very socially awkward and didn’t know many people which made him feel lonely at times. “I’m sure you both will and hopefully I’ll see you both in Ravenclaw so that way I can help you both get settled in and feel more comfortable on your first day.” He said while ruffling his hair gently and smiling. The more Jules talked the more Damien felt like an older brother as he thought Jules was so sweet and adorable. “Oh! I’m sure about it you already seem pretty smart to me so just keep trying and I know you can do it Jules!” He chuckled as he knew Jules could do it he just needed to believe in himself to achieve his goals. He noticed how Jules curled his fingers around the books of poems before he seemed to realize something. He chuckled as Jules realized how he been in the book store for a while and should probably continue his shopping at other stores. “Bye Jules! I hope you enjoy the book do tell me how it is!” He smiled softly as he waved at him. “And see you at school!” Once Jules left he smiled to himself before going to check out his books. |
