Setting: The Library
Time: Late morning on the 8th of April.
Outfit: Black flare pants, light blue sweater, brown hair in a messy bun.

Glaring into her book, frustration pounded through Amelia’s head. Giving a great show of ignoring Graci, she picked up a quill, she twirled it in her hand, an absentminded expression perched on her face. Her determination at not giving any acknowledgement to the girl was immediately abandoned when the girl returned the argument with a few sharp words. Being accused of something, no matter how true it was, wasn’t something Amelia took pleasure in. Putting down her quill with a frustrated smack, she looked up at Graci. Unlike Graci, she did not refrain from giving a small eye roll.

“Oh yeah, and your just so perfect, little miss morals,” Amelia snapped in exasperation, thumping her book shut somewhat dramatically.

The look of pure dislike on the other girl’s face caused a trickle of regret to hit Amelia. She shouldn’t have said any of this. She shouldn’t have come up with a quick retort at everything the girl said. She should have apologized long ago.

The guilt should have been enough to dissuade Amelia in returning any comment at Graci’s next words, but her temper had risen so high that thinking straight had been long abandoned. Refraining from a more brutal retort, Amelia instead turned to her beloved friend; sarcasm. “Thanks heaps.” She muttered, offering a fake smile that was completely unbelievable.

Seeing Graci make her leave from the heated situation was surprisingly unsatisfactory. After their dramatic argument, and Amelia’s victory, as she saw it, the silence was… empty. Instead a guilt began to eat at the girl, reminding her tauntingly of all the unkindly things she had said. Opening the book that only moments ago she had closed in frustration, Amelia carefully flipped to the page she had been looking at and began reading.

For a minute it looked as if the young girl had returned to her prior relaxed, studious position, then a tear trickled from her ocean blue eyes. A second. Two more. Regret and embarrassment filled the girl in an unexpected manner. Well thanks heaps, now I can’t even focus. With a heavy sniff and a hasty wipe of her eyes, Amelia collected her books and stationary together in an untidy and rather oversized collection. There was no point staying anymore. With her load of books, Amelia waddled out of the library, still overcome by tears which it seemed she had very little control over.

It was undoubtably that tonight’s sleep would be filled with lengthy considerations of an apology and way to make her actions right. If only she could have uttered a simply word earlier, perhaps even muttered a sorry, this awful discomfort and knowledge of her wrongdoing wouldn’t be piercing her so deeply.

Amelia is exiting the thread. Any reaction if it occurs will simply be haughtily ignored by her character.
