"Whose visuals is carrying the team? Evethisawe's?" Ara replied, mainly to annoy the prehistoric being in front of her. Mainly a jab at the pile of bones' ego.

As the first batch of spells flew, surprisingly, she was one of the only 2 people weren't hit by any spells. Her target, one of the sixth years was actually pointing a spell right at her but it missed while her own spell connected, the older boy's wand flying out of their hands. Looking at her teammates, she sighed — both were blindfolded. "How's the view?" she said sarcastically.

Thankfully, all their spells connected with their intended targets. Ara found it ironic that they were doing better in this match compared to their previous one, perhaps the dueling gods picked favourites from time to time.

In her mind, she was quite proud of Evethisawe. Since the two started dueling, they haven't really had the spotlight in a while and now they've hit a fifth and a sixth year with one spell which is a feat for a third year. Her slight downturned smile was barely visible even to the ones who weren't blindfolded.

She couldn't help but notice the unfamiliar spell that spat out of the coffin-hunter's wand. It looked cool. Fog wasn't that cool on its own but the spell looked more effective than Fumos thats for sure. But of course she couldn't say it out loud for the blindfolded old fart to hear and boost their ego.

Hades' expression was a complete surprise, when his spell did not reach Ara. But that emotion changed quickly when he was hit by the spell of one of the duellists, who used Neb... How was it? Hades did not hear well, for which he could not know well what spell had been used against him. In his expression one could see the frustration.

The situation worsened noticeably when Ara, whom he had tried to cast a spell on, managed to get his wand out of the way, an unexpected move. He stared for a few seconds at Julian and Jake, focusing especially on Julian because they had both been attacked by Mahlioz, only the difference that the boy had received more damage.

Fog crept onto the dueling platform, which was going to make it quite hard to duel for Jake's team-mates. Once again, nobody had aimed for him (directly at least, he'd still had to side-step the spell that erupted off of Hades), leaving his aim perfectly fine - two of the opposing team was successfully blindfolded. It was a good strategy to slow the duel down from the very beginning. But now with the fog, almost NOBODY would be firing at their best. Jake got ready. Slower duels were his favorite - he had never been one for chaos, in a duel or out of one.

He braced himself for the fight he was about to have, and hoped his opponents were ready for the challenge.

Mahlioz removes their blindfold

12:30 - 13:30 on Sunday, 3rd of May, 2025...

Raizel thought this was gonna be a messy round with the number of people blindfolded and with one duellist searching for their wand. It was but not in a way that Raizel expected. Staring off with the things that had gone wrong. There was Julian’s spell, a Knockback Jinx. Despite the distraction the cracker jinx from earlier had caused, he still managed to cast it. The unfortunate part is that it missed and with Mahlioz blindfolded, one would think that they had no escape but they still did. Talk about good luck. Up next was Hanako’s Confringo.

With the amount of times she had seen it casted as well as being at the end of it, she was prepared to see the damage it would cause. The moment she saw the wand movement, she knew what was coming. To her disappointment, and probably Hanako’s as well, the spell never fired, the sixth year failing which was a surprise. All the people she knew who had casted that spell managed to do so effortlessly. Maybe it’s a bit unfair to compare him to Dee and Lea though. Still, disappointing, enough to make her sigh inwardly. But good thing it failed though because Hades was defenseless because of him still searching for his wand which didn’t take a while. Ara tried doing the same thing as Hanako, targeting the most vulnerable player in the Hufflepuff team with a Flipendo of her own. Sadly for her, it missed.

Going to the good thing now. While Mahlioz was busy taking off that blindfold, a gust of strong wind coming from Jake’s wand hit them with great force but not enough to knock them off of their feet luckily. That attack left them disoriented. Hufflepuff is slowly gaining their momentum, not letting the snakes win that easily.

Well, they weren't doing as bad as they could be.

The corpse was still blindfolded while embarrassing themselves while trying to look cool by casting Confringo. Ara sighed. Who'd be stupid enough to try to cast a spell blindfolded? "Maybe stop trying to look cool with stupid actions?"

She saw Mah— Evethisawe take off their blindfold to just have a gust of wind smack them in the face, pity. Not like Ara herself had something to say for herself either, her spell missed--but at least something spat out of her wand.

Though with the usual setbacks, they were still doing uncharacteristically better than their last duel. Now that the teams seemed quite equal, perhaps the dueling gods had a hard time picking favorites? Now that's a sight.

She was still one of the two people who hadn't even gotten hit yet.

Her target last round — Mr. Basic — just got their wand back. Awh, she kind of wanted them to be disarmed for a bit more, but oh well. The fog the senior citizen cast actually helped quite a lot, finally, the older year would use one of the spells in their ancient arsenal.

Her gaze cut through the fog still lingering from whatever spell the “ancient one” had thrown, eyeing the possible targets engulfed in it. Ara flashed an expression of pity at Evethisawe, It looks like they'd have some trouble dodging for a bit. It was the opposite team's first chip of damage to them, of course, it's gonna hurt a bit.

Ara exhaled through her nose, the kind of breath that was one sharp syllable away from a snort. Honestly, this duel was bordering on a circus, and she wasn’t sure whether she was annoyed or entertained.

She adjusted her grip on her wand, fingers twitching with residual magic from the Flipendo that went wide past its target. It wasn’t a total embarrassment, at least—unlike certain sixth years attempting to turn Confringo into a statement piece. She let her eyes flick to the decomposing corpse again.

Then again, Ara wasn’t here to keep a scoreboard of failures — tempting as it was.

Julian’s Knockback had missed too-barely, which made Ara’s lips quirk into something halfway smug. She had expected this round to devolve into chaos with half the participants blindfolded and one crawling around for their wand like it was a cursed contact lens. But even with all that, the tides were shifting.

She rolled her wand between her fingers, habitually tracing the runes etched into the handle.

Let’s see if the dueling gods still had their favorites.

Mahlioz had thought that taking off her blindfold was her only option. But of course, she had to get hit with a good old gust of wind - stupid Ventus. At least the other Hufflepuff's spell didn't hit her, which was insanely impressive considering she quite literally could not see where she was going, but she'd still gotten hit with a Ventus.

Her blindfold was off now, though - wait, why was Hanako still blindfolded? A tease from Ara was enough to confirm that he had in fact decided not to take off his blindfold and cast a spell without his eyesight. Mahlioz wasn't sure whether that was ridiculously stupid or kind of brave. In any case, it didn't work. Perhaps they had made the right choice in taking theirs off even if it had won them a Ventus.

A couple of errors had been pointed out starting Mahlioz Eva which should've been 5 not 4 after getting hit by Ventus (corrected)
A -4 Acc for Ara after attacking someone hit by Nebulus due to the spell's effect. This doesn't change the outcome as she would've still missed but would like to reflect this on the mod post.

“ I think it would actually affect me more if I heard that from someone that knows more than just 1st and 2nd year spells~” he said with a shrug and a casual tone at Ara’s retort. His free hand checking his nails (even if he really couldn’t see them) just to potentially further annoy Villa. He didn’t care what everyone else said about confringos, they are the worse. Hanako wasn’t the best with the more difficult spells. But oh well, at least he wasn’t all that hurt. He couldn’t say the same for his teammates. Considering Ara’s still able to yap no problem, it was likely Mahlioz got hit yeah? Sounds like a lot of wind over there.

As Strategised : Action

Hades attempted to reach for the wand, but before he could, he looked around him. He was concerned about the vulnerable position, having failed to perform a spell, and had to pick the wand that had been thrown away. Once he was able take the wand, he stood up quickly, his blue eyes staring at his rivals, showing a determined look.

By the time he composed, Hades could see two people who had tried to get him out of the way, using different spells. However, it seemed that luck wanted to make fun of them. Only one person managed to perform the spell and reach the opponent successfully, being Jake. Hades performed the thumbs-up gesture to encourage him.
