Night One
Avis' words were so tragically meaningful and they slipped under his skin like tiny motes of light holding him tighter as she embraced him in the moment. Accepting the gesture he hold her for he knew that grief was not a competition, it was a unification. Both children had lost and learned lessons they were far too young to know. Yet as the young raven spoke her final words Matthew couldn't help but tense under her touch, the muscles in his body locking in place under the constricted binds. Avis was just another in a long list of people he could never tell the truth too, never reveal that he was the one responsible, for if he did she would never have seen him the same.
It would forever be his darkest secret, his greatest shame, stained forever in her blood.
Usefully it wasn't seconds after his tension arrived that the girl released her hold and staggered back scratching at her arms and legs, a fire like rash spread across parts of her revealed skin. A knot of immense guilt began to knot in his stomach, Matthew had always been so brash and he had let his excitement at new friendship and pressure to please get in the way of his true morality. The boy was far too easily coerced to mischief on a regular basis but under Gideon's thumb he was mere clay to be moulded.
Pushing the swelling sensation of regret back down his throat he listened with great intrigue as the young girl explained her relationship with Aamon. Something about the story seemed amiss like there was a fragment she was hiding but given everything he had kept from the world and from the people in his life he trusted most he was hardly one to judge. A sadness struck his heart however, at the fact that the boy who had given him immediate problems for his blood took to Avis in spite of it. Given how the youngest Athanatos seemed obsessed with hormones though, likely that had something to do with it.
A small audible gasp broke from his lips as he heard about her injury, wondering who would do such a thing yet in Hogwarts it could be any number of people. Muggleborns weren't exactly beloved and if Aamon was telling the truth and his family were on constant alert for poison it likely meant they had their own fair share of enemies. Suddenly the whole cabin seemed layered in a thicker coating of danger than it already appeared. Accompanied by a sympathetic smile he spoke, "I'm so sorry to hear that Avis, I'm glad Winnie was able to heal you." It took real restraint not to scoff at her final remark for Aamon seemingly had many blessings, in wealth and status, but in truth Matthew did not know him well enough to contrast such things. It painted their previous interaction in regret. Perhaps even in another life he would've come to Glasgow.
Throat heavy with a lump he swallowed deep and clearing the remainder with a cough looked down at the girls itching frame, "I think perhaps you might wish to seek Winnie out once more, I believe you're having a reaction-" Pausing, wracked with guilt he realised that he had to come clean for the girls sake, "-Well actually I know you are, it's poison Ivy. Please go get help before you hurt yourself." As he told her his eyes began to glisten with water knowing that she would likely be feeling betrayed mere seconds after they had trusted each other. Another cabin friendship he had sullied, more isolation to add to the pile. Reprimanding himself he stood up and with a quick stilted "I'm sorry" Matthew ran off into the night letting the darkness blanket around him as he followed the stars hoping they might lead him to his father. Lead him away from all the terrible decisions he had made of late.

Night One

"I think perhaps you might wish to seek Winnie out once more, I believe you're having a reaction...Well actually I know you are, it's poison Ivy. Please go get help before you hurt yourself."
It was poison ivy? Avis frowned at him, wracking her brain. She flipped through her day, searching for any glimpses she might of caught of the plant, on her way to the dining hall for instance, but couldn't come up with any. She would have had to have been walking through it, anyway. Not, not walking. She would have to have been bathing in it. Drowning in the stuff. Had Matthew caught some she missed? She turned to him, opening her mouth to ask him, but he was already up and gone. "I'm sorry." He was sorry. Sorry for what? Admitting his guilt to her? Or...the poison Ivy.
Oh...the poison ivy.
He knew where she had gotten it from, didn't he? He knew and he was just running away.
On any other occasion, Avis would have started chasing after him, but her harsh scratching had begun to scrape against her skin to the point were it was starting to bleed, her nails making red lines crossing over the rash; now was not the time for that. That would come tomorrow. But for now, she was going to take his advice and ask Winnie for some help. It might be rude to wake the girl up, but at this point Avis did. not. care. So she forced herself up, tried to unsuccessfully, stop itching, and bolting into the cabin to a unexpected and yet completely understandable.
“Aamon?” Her voice was groggy, confused. Then, as she blinked, really seeing him—“Aamon!”The boy in question seemed to be slathering something on himself. Lotion? No—thicker. Greasier. She took a step closer and caught the scent: Mayo.
He was covering himself in mayonnaise.
What. On. Earth.
And yet, as she crossed to him and tried to gently pry the container from his grasp, she understood. The cold container felt absolutely wonderful on her hands, and the temptation to scoop some out for herself was overwhelming. She was also, for some reason, deeply tempted to just... lie down on the floor, which was pleasantly cool against her feet.
"Winnie!" She loudly whimpered whispered. Oh please let the older girl have some miracle cure. Meanwhile, she turned her attention back to a half asleep Aamon, "Aamon! We've got poison Ivy, Matthew told me. I don't really know what to do about that though."
Her hands strayed toward her arms, which seemed to be much worse for wear than Aamons, red, blotchy, and covered in nail lines from her own desperate attempts to relieve the itch. "Winnie!"

By the time Nabi had managed to make it towards her bedroom, Winnie was already sighing in relief as she rubbed the pink lotion onto her skin. She would let it sit for a bit before climbing back into bed, it was still the middle of winter and the great thing about sharing a bed with Mathias was that he was like her own personal heater.
If it had not been for the silence of the night, she wouldn't have heard a voice softly whispering, 'Excuse me... Professor?...my hand is itchy...'
She blinked in surprise, wondering if she was still dreaming, but it sounded different than the voices in her dreams. Itchy. Shit, obviously one of their younger cabinmates had gotten into the poison ivy too. She grabbed the backpack that was full of muggle first aid items and beauty supplies (she had her own magical sets too but there was some things the wizarding world didn't get right) and swung it over her shoulder before tiptoeing towards the door and creaking it open.
She saw the delicate features of one of the dark haired girls from earlier, and quickly slipped out of the door and shut it behind her. She was going to save the poor girl's eyes from whatever state Mathias was in. "Shhh... Mathias is sleeping." Winnie hushed the younger girl, taking her arm and guiding her towards the common room, where she could hear the faint sound of music playing. Bubba must have been awake too.
“Aamon?” She heard a younger voice calling as they walked down the hall.
"Come on, I have the same thing, it seems we've ran into some poison ivy—" She stopped short when she witnessed a boy (Aamon) slathering his upper body with mayonnaise, "... What the feck¹ are you doing?"
“Winnie!” The other younger girl called out, catching the redhead's attention. Her eyes drift down to where she was scratching herself and she felt her stomach sink. Shit. Not good.
"Don't scratch it; you'll make it worse." Her maternal instinct was already taking over as she stepped forward to take the girl's hands. "If you break open the blisters they might get infected."
"Aamon," the Ravenclaw shifted her focus to the young Slytherin. She hadn't remembered his name but the other girl (Avis) had spoken it earlier, "See if you can find oatmeal or baking soda in the kitchen cabinets."
She let go of Avis' hands to walk over to the couch, trying to find some sort of lamp to light the dark common room, "I don't have any magical remedies but they might have some Antidote of Common Poisons in the Hospital Wing here."
She sighed, giving up on finding a light and deciding she'd use Lumos to dig through her bag, "we'll have to go tomorrow morning, but I can help you soothe your rashes using—Eek!" She shrieked as she started to sit down only to realize she had sat on top of someone's legs.
"S-Sorry! I'm sorry!" She stammered, trying to scramble off of someone she really hoped was Bubba and not Matthew or Gideon. Why the hell was he sleeping out here? Because of course this night could get weirder.

There was a slight shuffle as she looked at the door, Nabi did not know who she had woken from their sleep so she stayed quiet. As the door opened she faced the girl with red hair who had been adorned from head to toe in pink when she first arrived at the cabin. Is everything in her trunk pink?
"Shhh... Mathias is sleeping."
Nabi nodded softly, indicating she understood what Winnie told her, I do not care who this Mathias is... my hand is itchy. She felt Winnie grab her arm and begin to guide her toward the common area, she could hear Avis' voice come from the common room as Winnie guided her. "Come on, I have the same thing, it seems we've run into some poison ivy—", her eyebrows furred, confused as to how she got exposed to such a thing.
The faint tune of a song immediately engulfed her ears as Nabi stepped into the common room, So this is where the melody came from...hm...what song this is...
Noticing Winnie stop abruptly, Nabi looked at what had caught her attention. Her eyes widened as she saw a sleepy Aamon covered in Mayonnaise, This must be a weird dream I am having... right?
A fever dream she would not remember by dawn like all her other dreams.
Too bad it was not a dream, the burning on her wrist was an indicator she was very much awake. Nabi stood still, watching Winnie walk toward Avis, stopping herself from scratching her wrist as Winnie began to direct the other girl not to. Hoping to soothe some of the sting, she gently blew on her wrist, and the affected area radiated some heat I need something cold... cold water...
Winnie's sudden shriek caused Nabi to jump, the itch was getting harder to ignore as she stood there. Clenching her other hand into a tight fist by her side, she shook the affected wrist. Her voice came out in an uncharacteristically meek tone, she had never touched poison ivy, "The burn is getting worse...", Ignore it... you will be alright soon.
Where is the adult in charge? Nabi did not realize she had begun to scratch her wrist until it was too late, her wrist was turning a bright red and a different card began to appear.
Fear.

Night One
Bubba had not been ready to sleep when everyone else had retired. He had always had trouble falling asleep and staying asleep, so he was used to going to bed later and getting up earlier than the rest of his dorm mates. So, when everyone started to filter into his bed, he popped into his room and took his phonograph and a couple of records out of the bag. Two were the normal random grab but he also grabbed a third from its own special pocket - his sleep mix - a custom pressing his dad had done for him of songs that helped him fall asleep.
After bidding Aamon good night, he stepped back into the common area. Walking over to the couch, he'd sat down and set the phonograph up and put on his lullaby mix. He kicked his shoes of and laid down on the couch before pulling on a blanket that had come with the cabin and laying his head against a nice-sized pillow. The last thing he remembered was hearing the soft tone's of Billy Joel's Lullaby.
A couple of hours had passed before the cabin went off the rails (again, because apparently these people refuse to be normal no matter the time or place) and the record had long since finished with Bubba in his usual light sleep. While he missed the low-flying jet that was Aamon running to the icebox, there was no missing a shrew sitting on his feet. "The fuck?" he said as his eyes jerked open and he pulled out his wand, "Lumos!" He saw it was Winnie who'd sat on his feet, "Can I help--" he started to ask very grumpily when he saw a site that put him at a loss for words (which never happened): Aamon was standing at the icebox slathering himself in mayonnaise.
After a moment he spoke again, absolutely dumbfounded, "I must still be dreaming because this can't be fucking real."

Night One

Avis wasn’t surprised when Winnie showed up—but then Nabi arrived too. It seemed that none of the cabin members felt like sleeping that night. Winnie was also very...pink. She seemed to have covered herself in pink goop - pink lotion - calamine lotion. Calamine lotion! Avis had never been so happy that the girl was obsessed with pink, because really, who carried around calamine lotion unless they really loved the stuff? She was tempted to tackle the older girl and steal it for herself.
She didn't need to, though, as Winnie came over to her and grabbed her hands. "Don't scratch it; you'll make it worse." Avis knew that already. Any child who had touched grass at any point in their life knew that. Don't scratch. But it was so itchy! Was it really better to be covering herself in mayo like Aamon?
Rarely did Avis act like the eleven-year-old she was. But she was itchy and tired and wanted to go to bed and go home and forget about Valentines Day and all of Aamon's stupid family drama and Hogwarts all this stupid magic. And now she had poison ivy, because the universe clearly hated her, and she was being told not to itch when her entire body was on fire and the only thing she wanted to do was itch it. Her eyes stung as she glared at Winnie. Wasn't magic supposed to make all the hard things go away?
Still, she curled her hands into tight fists and pinned her arms to her sides, fingernails digging painfully into the palm of her hand. It was a trick Avis had learned, when something itches, cause a pain somewhere else, a pain that can be controlled, a distraction. And it usually worked, but not tonight. There was too much rash, too many spots, she was just too freaking itchy.
Avis ignored the conversation, focusing on keeping her fists tightly closed and arms at her sides until "Eek!" Winnie had apparently sat on someone. Great. Wonderful. Avis did not care who it was in the slightest. Why couldn't Winnie just give her some calamine lotion already?

Night One

It was night one and Aamon was already in hell.
Or at least, it was a mayonnaise-coated purgatory.
Aamon Athanatos had woken up feeling like he had been hexed with a thousand invisible needles. The itch was unbearable, and in his half-asleep, semi-delirious state, Aamon had stumbled toward the kitchen in search of relief. Ice? No, too slow. Water? Ha! Weak. But then—then—Aamon had opened the icebox and there it was: a pristine, glorious jar of chilled mayonnaise. Cold. Smooth. Immediate.
With haste, Aamon unscrewed the lid and thrust his bare hand into the jar and extracted a generous heap of the sandwich dressing. And so, naturally, Aamon had started slathering the mayonnaise all over himself like some sort of unhinged sandwich goblin. The cool, thick, white cream soothed his screaming flesh. At least temporarily.
Now, standing in the dimly lit common room, covered in mayo from his chest to his forearms, Aamon blinked slowly at the trio of girls who had wandered in. An inglorious moment for certain, but his sleepy, nearly delusional state made his masculinity a secondary priority. No, it was a prime concern but he saw his eggy armor as an act of genius. They would appreciate his ingenuity and brilliance.
This was not the first time Nabi or Avis had seen Aamon look like a complete idiot. Nabi saw the low stakes moments of stupidity, such as his colonic mishap in the common room and his cringeworthy moments in S.N.O.G. that she so unfairly held against him. He had no idea what made her so mad at him, well 'had'. It became a lot more apparent after he realized that Matthew and Nabi were an item. The jealousy and the awkwardness of the bottle landing on the 'wrong' person likely placed a rift between the two of them that was obviously mending. Meanwhile, Avis saw him nearly die twice and watched him get beat-up and robbed by some part goblin nerd, Finnegan Connor, with ease.
He was not worried about looking 'good', they had seen worse!
First came Avis Marlong, looking horrified yet oddly tempted by the jar in his hands. Indeed, the sweet victory cream would save them both.
Then came Winnie Harper, Mathias Pride's sometimes cognizant fiance. Aamon called her the 'pink lady' in his head and when out of ear-shot, and by now, it was likely apparent to the rest of the members of this cabin exactly why. The Ravenclaw's sharp "What the feck are you doing?" suggested she was not yet appreciating the genius of Aamon's solution. Did she have a better plan? Probably not!
"Winnie!" Avis seemed more excited by the upper classman. Admittedly he was hopeful that Winnie had some spell-solution.
Maybe the magic pink lady can fix..." Aamon more self narrated than replied.
Then Avis' attention was back on him. "Aamon! We've got poison Ivy, Matthew told me. I don't really know what to do about that though."
Avis told him something about Matt telling her that they had poison ivy. What a ridiculous notion. "What poison ivy?" Aamon repeated, somewhat dumbfounded. He had not touched grass in a good month minimum! Poor Avis actually thought that they got poison ivy in a fish tank.
And then finally, Nabi—Nabi Park, who looked like she had walked into an actual nightmare and was actively debating whether she could simply will herself out of existence.
Aamon ignored their looks of judgment. The girls didn’t understand. They weren’t enlightened yet. But they would be.
With an eerie, too-wide grin, Aamon extended the partially used mayonnaise jar toward Avis first, she was the nearest ally. Aamon's voice dipping into a smooth, almost seductive whisper, “Would you like some mayonnaise?”
Aamon would relinquish the jar of mayonnaise and allow Avis to take the sweet salvation from his waiting hands. The bottle itself clumpy with hunks of mayo. A bit slippery but he was confident Avis would not drop the precious jar.
Yep, Aamon was a hero.
No need to thank him ladies.
Aamon turned to Nabi next, his expression unchanging as he gestured towards the jar in Avis' posession. “How about you? It’s quite refreshing.” His voice was still soft, persuasive, like he was offering a rare delicacy instead of a questionable life choice. A glob of mayo would fall off him onto the floor. He scraped a handful from his forearm and held out his offering. “Just a little. A dab.” He claimed, as if words alone would entice the fellow pureblood with its questionable, egg-based allure. Aamon would approach and attempt to relieve the excess mayo on Nabi's infected forearm.
Winnie was not sold on the eggy respite.
"Aamon, see if you can find oatmeal or baking soda in the kitchen cabinets."
Had Winnie told him to go find oatmeal or baking soda? Aamon's mouth curled in betrayal. “Oatmeal?” the Slytherin repeated in utter disgust, as though the Ravenclaw had suggested he bathe in swamp water. If Avis had relinquished the mayonnaise, Aamon would recover the vessel and hold up the mayonnaise jar as if to prove his counter-point to the upper classman. “This is a gift, Winnie.” He tapped his mayo-coated fingers to his chest solemnly. “And it is working.”
Or so he had believed. At that exact moment of defiance, Aamon's skin burned anew, as if punishing his arrogance. The itching flared hotter, and Aamon let out an actual whimper, his confidence crumbling like an overcooked British pastry. "Okay, maybe it's working less than I thought—"
Then Winnie shrieked.
Aamon jumped, nearly dropping the mayo if it was back in his possession, spinning around just in time to witness his future sister-in-law practically launching herself off someone who had been sleeping on the couch. It was his roomie Bubba McGarry. He had been kind enough as to leave Aamon with his own room, not that he needed one. He wanted someone to talk to. Maybe he could teach him muggle words. A muffled groan confirmed that Bubba were not happy about being used as impromptu furniture.
Bubba did not seem to be effected like the rest of them, unless he was able to sleep through it. While that may be true, being sat on had a way of rousing a lad.
Women had this strange problem of not looking where they are going. They had this weird issue with bathrooms also. How many times had he been scolded because someone fell in. Fell in? Did they enter the bathroom butt first and then waddle to the toilet bowl before unceremoniously plopping down. The cold water somehow not a message of their own folly but rather this failure as a man for leaving the seat up.
Aamon, however, barely registered Winnie's scream. His own suffering was still the main event in his mind.
"Alright, fine," Aamon huffed dramatically, shoving the mayonnaise back into the icebox like it had personally failed him if it was still in his hands. "New plan. If I go into that bedroom and find out Mathias is somehow not affected, I'm setting his bed on fire."
He pointed at Winnie. "I know it was him."
With the confidence of an idiot that slathered himself with mayo, Aamon then pointed at Nabi. "And if I die from this, tell people I went out with dignity."
And with that, Aamon, still covered in mayo, stalked off in search of vengeance—or at least, an absurdly large amount of baking soda.

Night One

The tea party was... a tea party. It was not his thing. He really wanted to read some of the books he had brought with him and maybe make-out with winnie. He was a simple man and he had few needs. His attendance was for her benefit, but with his social battery depleted, he was quick to fall asleep.
And so, Mathias Pride was dead to the world, sprawled out in a way that could only be described as 'obnoxiously comfortable'—completely nude, starfished across the bed like a Roman emperor in his final form. He had not stirred to Winnie’s quiet panic, nor to Nabi’s increasingly urgent pleas. No, Mathias remained perfectly at peace, wrapped in the smug embrace of sleep, utterly oblivious to the actual chaos unfolding around him.
Until—
Winnie, his long-term, often gaslit girlfriend turned fiance screamed.
The sound of Winnie's shriek ripped through the air, sharp, raw, hers, and whatever deep, undisturbed slumber Mathias had been enjoying was obliterated in an instant. He probably would have slept through just about anything else. But Mathias was on edge. Matt knew that boarding with Gideon was a mistake. That Gideon would do something, not that he expected the goblin of an heir to work so quick. Mathias' hand slapped the mattress next to him, she was not there.
His mind went immediately to Gideon. That Gideon had done something. That he was doing something. That the monster had crept into bed and tricked Winnie (again) to go to something that left her vulnerable. Once there, potentially cornered, something terrible would happen.
Mathias' eyes shot open. His body reacted before his mind even caught up, pure instinct launching him into action—except he forgot one very important detail.
He was still naked.
Mathias bolted upright, his ginger hair a chaotic mess, a wild fire burning in his sleep-dazed hazel eyes. Matt's hand reached for his wand—but instead, it found nothing, because oh right, Pride was completely bare-assed in the middle of a goddamn emergency.
No time. No dignity. Only vengeance.
Mathias half lunged, half rolled off the bed, snatching the first object within reach—a decorative, petal pink-colored throw pillow that Winnie had packed with a majority of her dorm—and slapped the handmade pillow against his bits with all the grace of a man who had never considered the possibility of being woken up this way. Thankfully the ruffles expanded the territory it covered.
"WINNIE!" He yelled blindly. The girls would be able to hear his call, as muffled as it was from the room adjacent.
“I’LL KILL HIM!” the snake roared, his warcry clearer as he stormed through the door, the Seer's voice ragged from sleep and righteous fury.
It wasn’t until Mathias was halfway out the damn room that the absurdity of the Slytherin's situation truly hit. He was already in full view of the common room at this point.
Yes, there Mathias Pride was—nearly naked, barely concealed behind a pillow embroidered likely by Winnie's crafty hand. He was charging into battle like some deranged, sleep-deprived warlord.
Mathias' ruddy face, twisted in a snarl would drop when the teen caught sight of Winnie Harper and Nabi Park’s wide-eyed stares, their expressions vacillating somewhere between horror and secondhand embarrassment. As for Avis Marlong, the first year was going to need some time in confession or therapy after this. As for Mathias' younger brother Aamon, he was covered in... whipped cream? What the hell were these first years doing in the common area and why was Winnie here? What were they going to her? And most conspicuously, where the hell was Giddy?
Mathias blinked.
Paused.
Then he looked down at the very inadequate pillow shielding what really didn’t need to be on display.
"...Right," Mathias muttered, his voice slightly hoarse. "give me—give me a second to rectify this."
With zero shame and now zero urgency, he pivoted back into the room, casually grabbing the nearest blanket and dramatically wrapping it around his waist like some half-dressed aristocrat about to host afternoon tea.
Then, with the same level of fury, he turned back to Winnie, eyes blazing. She seemed intact, at least more intact than the last time Giddy had gotten ahold of her. Gideon nearly killed her that time. Mathias did not want his brother to finish the job.
"Okay. Now I’ll kill him." Mathias declared.
Now, where the hell was Giddy? And why did his butt itch? Matt scratched his ass impatiently.

Aamon had questioned her oatmeal request with a look of disgust. All of this from the kid that was wiggling his fingers at the other girls trying to give them a mayo baptism. "Seriously?" She asked in disbelief, "You're slathered in egg paste and you think oatmeal is weird? Oat meal baths help sooth ivy rashes. Mayo is for lice."
His shiny, vinegar scented skin was just proof of his poor decision, but he was quickly starting to whine again like the other two girls. "Oatmeal." She reminded him, "Before I have to put mittens on your hands to keep you from scratching."
Winnie barely registered Bubba's grumpy grunt before his Lumos spell flash banged her eyes and she was left shielding them with her hands. She had never been more happy to hear an American accent, confirming the unfortunate person she had sat on was at least not going to murder her... In the literal sense, that was. "I-I'm so sorry, Bubba. I couldn't see..." Realizing she was still sitting on him, she scrambled to her feet. Her face was burning red, but thankfully already covered in calamine lotion.
She quickly turned to toss her bag on the counter and start digging through it. She withdrew the Calamine lotion and popped the cap open. Walking over to Avis, she poured a generous amount on her arms. "Rub it in, no scratching," she reminded her before going over to Nabi to give her the same treatment.
Aamon then announced his plan to go see if Mathias was covered in poison ivy, and her extended her arm to show off her own rash, "If he is behind it why would he put it on me too?"
As if summoned by the mention of him, her fiancé soon rushed in, his scream causing her to almost jump on top of the counter, "MATHIAS! You scared the shit out of me!" Her face twisted in confusion as he started shouting about wanting to kill someone, "What? Who?" Did he just mean Gideon in general or someone else.
Winnie's eyes locked onto Mathias' face. Then his abs. Then his abs again because... Wow—focus, Winnie, focus! Then, she finally noticed it; he was not... Ahem, properly dressed. Her face was burning red. "Oh my GOD, Mattie! Where are your clothes?!" She squeaked, her hands shooting up to cover both Avis and Nabi's eyes to shield them from glorious abs and her now defiled pillow, "... T-THAT'S THE PILLOW MY NANA MADE ME!" He was getting his boy bits on her Nana's embroidery! What was up with the boys in this cabin?!
She watched in complete shock as Mathias turned on his heel, full mooned as he waddled back to the bedroom. She was mortified, but more importantly, she had seen a flash of angry red on his skin. He had been exposed—erm, to the plant—too.
She turned to Aamon and gestured towards the older Slytherin as if to say, 'see? I told you so'. She dropped the hands covering the girl's faces and raised one to massage her temple. This was turning into the weirdest night of her life. Well, the weirdest she could remember... Which wasn't saying much.
Soon Mathias returned wearing one of her pink blankets, like a rogue ancient Roman who had fallen into beet juice. "Mattie, are you sleepwalking and... sleep talking all at once?" She knew he wanted to kill Gideon, but didn't figure he'd do it in the middle of the night at their cabin.
Finally, it hit her; she had woken him up with her scream, "Mattie, take a breath. I'm fine, we're okay. I screamed because I accidentally sat on Bubba, I didn't realize he was sleeping on the couch... I'm sorry for waking you."
The Ravenclaw took a step towards him, Calamine lotion in hand. Reaching out, she'd grab his hand to start inspecting his arm. Sure enough there were angry red blooms. She sighed, and started to pour out the pink lotion onto his skin, "You've got a poison ivy rash. I do too... So does everyone—wait," she cut her self off, her eyes flickering over to Bubba, "... Do you have a rash too?"

She was about to scratch her wrist again when Aamon began to approach her. The room felt small, and the air was different as the scent of mayonnaise overwhelmed her sense of smell. If it were not for the persistent burn on her affected forearm, she would have sworn her face was turning a soft pink.
His tone was different from his usual stutter, velvety and almost convincing. "How about you? It’s quite refreshing." Nabi's skin was burning, agonizing as she avoided scratching her wrist. A clump of mayonnaise fell off him in a soft plop— it appeared as though the mayonnaise did help Aamon; who scrapped off some mayonnaise from his forearm. Gesturing to her as if the egg condiment would save her from the unbearable itch she was attempting to endure, "Just a little. A dab."
Fear can cause even the bravest of people to cower, and Nabi's composure had already been slipping while her skin turned bright red. His words lingered in the air as she thought of his offer before her voice came out in a whisper, her gaze locking on his face as she decided, "Just a dab..." Perhaps she could trust him, he was already covered in mayonnaise, after all.
Trust.
She had been warned to steer clear of it, but as she stood there with the pain; she realized trust was the only option. A small hum escaped her as the Aamon placed the cold condiment on the infected area, attempting to help her. Nabi had not realized how tense her shoulders were until she felt herself relax slightly while the cold mayonnaise momentarily soothed her searing skin.
The boy who had argued with Matthew hours before, woke up— his reaction to Winnie was grumpy. It would have been quite the scene to behold if it were not for the sharp pain the mayonnaise caused, Why did I listen to him... She winced, the itch worsened and her skin looked as though it were being pulled slightly. Blowing on it would only increase her discomfort.
A muffled yell was heard calling for who she assumed was the girl in pink. A look of moronic determination etched on Aamon's face as she watched him armor himself with more mayonnaise before pointing at her and saying what she could only describe as something she had read in books where a warrior is about to head into battle. How does one die with dignity whilst being derangedly covered in Mayonnaise?
A small laugh escaped her, sure she was in pain, but it was momentarily forgotten as she watched him begin to make his way toward the room Winnie had come out of.
Winnie had made her way to Nabi as she felt something get placed on her hand, sighing softly, she looked back at her infected forearm— soothingly rubbing in the Calamine lotion. "Thank you, Miss-", relief was evident in her voice when she suddenly heard someone storm out from their room.
Looking up to see the boy who had been holding hands with the girl in pink, Nabi's eyes widened in shock. He appeared like a barbarian of sorts looking around in rage. The poison ivy must have gotten to my head... She had not fully registered what she was seeing when in a frantic decision to shield Avis and Nabi's eyes, Winnie accidentally smacked Nabi's eyes shut— causing her to yelp slightly. I did not see what I think I saw...right?
Has he no shame? Most likely, no.
She heard a voice speak and steps fade before Winnie removed her hand from her face, her eyes squinted as she looked down to her forearm that was covered with the pink Calamine lotion. I am not the only one who saw that... someone tell me I have not lost my mind She looked around to see if anyone would confirm what she had seen. The same boy came back wrapped in a pink blanket, talking like a madman about killing someone and she watched Winnie walk over to the boy reassuring him she was well. Nabi then looked at the grumpy boy who appeared to be trying to process what he had witnessed, as well.
Nabi was about to speak up when she heard the pink girl talk, "... Do you have a rash too?" In silence she observed the grumpy American boy, He does not seem to be showing signs of discomfort... wait- Her gaze moved around the common room, counting the people present.
"We are missing two people, Miss...", Anyone could have been the culprit... Any trace of fear was gone as she looked at everyone.
Silent paranoia began to settle in.
