It was no secret that Aodhan was a peculiar child. He always tried to come across far more competent and charming than he actually was, in hopes of dampening the odd behaviors that stuck to him like glue. He wore false confidence as if it were a pretty crown upon his head, brandishing its golden hue in the sunlight for all to see. However, no matter how many lies and delusions he decorated himself with, he'd never be able to change who he was as a person.

And who he was ultimately colored the lens he used to view life, with all its flaws and exaggerations and fallacies. This is why, when he looked at the two students before him, it was easy to make his allegiance—After all, Oliver was covered in a gaseous, sickening green, with his flippant eye rolls and overall rude demeanor. Meanwhile, his wonderful roommate was clearly suffering under the weight of such a horrible presence. The Slytherin's rancid aura was tarnishing Kim's perfectly soothing one, cool and blue like that of rushing waters, decorated with a soft glow and all that was beautiful and nice.

Indeed, there was no doubt in Aodhan's mind who was the villain in this story. He didn't even bother responding to Liv's statements. He didn't need to.

"I-I'll be fine... as long as the cat doesn't come over to me."

What?

"He didn't do anything, it's just my stupid fear..."

Oh... Well, now he felt a bit dumb. But that was okay! He was nothing if not adaptable, and this was very much something he could roll with. Especially with Kim's following inquiry, and what a peculiar inquiry it was. Of course Aodhan wasn't a hugging person; the boy didn't care much for physical contact, only engaging when it worked in his favor. And getting to hug someone he liked? Certainly in his favor.

"Yes," he said, lying through his teeth, "I love hugs. Yup. Actually, mine are so good, they could win me a hugging competition. Want one for proof?"

He opened his arms then, a crystal clear invitation if his words weren't quite enough. At that moment, however, yet another person made their appearance, and thankfully it was someone he'd grown to be fond of.

"Vanilla Ice! Hey!" he called out in glee... just for his bright expression to falter upon hearing her cheer for Liv. Right, they were friends or something. She would obviously cheer for her friend to win in a "fight," even if that meant harming Kim, who was the least acquainted with them all. But even with that understanding, the thought... irritated Aodhan. He would make sure to doubly annoy Liv later in retaliation.

Anyhow, it was apt to say that Novalie's entrance incited a chain effect. A fourth individual had walked into the cabin, carrying a face vaguely familiar to him. He knew they met at the New Year's party but couldn't summon up this one's name, a testimony to his piss poor recollection of his peers. So, in response to her greeting, he threw an enthusiastic "sup!" to make up for it, being sure to pop his 'p' and all.

Aodhan raised a brow, though, once she tossed an item in Kim's direction. He took a step towards the older Gryffindor and peered curiously at the object, eyes lighting up in recognition after scanning the print.

"Oooh, allergy medicine! Is that why you're so afraid of kitties? 'Cause you're allergic?" he questioned with a grin, yet continued as he didn't truly expect an answer, "Take one of those and you should be alright. Thanks, Miss Hero—wait. That sounds kind of lame. Maybe... Lady Luck? Hm..."

What on earth could her nickname be? Since her actual one was off the table. The young wizard squinted at the blonde girl, mentally running through all the synonyms for "hero" that he possibly could. Still, nothing was clicking. She was evidently reliable, yes, but something was lackluster about his current ideas...

... His ideas that were forced to a halt as another blonde with another cat appeared.

"Dude, are you cursed?" the youth mumbled with a raised brow, voice just loud enough for Kim to hear. Even with his disbelief, it took only a moment before a snort escaped the boy, something that transformed into a guffaw once their latest cabin member began panicking over Kibo. The sight caused a rather impulsive thought to develop in his mind, because if this girl was so creeped out just being in the same room as a snake, what would happen if Aodhan shoved it in her face? Would she faint?

He stored the idea for later and instead focused his attention on Novalie, who was preoccupied with trying to get bitten. Why she was doing all that, he couldn't understand.

"Are you trying to get superpowers? Like Spider-Man? Because this thing isn't radioactive enough for that," he informed her with a slight pout, because it certainly would have been cool to witness Novalie turn into Spider-Woman. Snake-Woman? Though, he realized a vital detail due to her proximity with Kim's bed—more specifically, the one closest to his was empty.

"I call dibs on that one!" he announced before heading off into a jog, first grabbing his abandoned luggage and then rushing over. By the time he was roughly a foot away, Aodhan released his hold on the suitcase and practically threw himself onto the mattress, face first in the position of a starfish.

So far, this trip was looking like a win in his books.
