To the 'You' that I Hide PV Ophelia Northwell Fin

As she usually does, Scout hesitates. Fingers coming to a slow stop before she finally looks at Ophelia, a genuine look. She sighs, shaking her head. It would be better to erase her original comment. She trusted Ophelia, but not that much. She was a good friend, of course she was but...

Scout didn't even trust herself with her own secret, so she decides to offer a different sentence. "Thank you, really." What else can she say that would even have a sliver of conveying her true thoughts? A thanks wasn't enough, Ophelia was genuinely kind, and that sort of thing wasn't something Scout could find words to use that would be appreciative enough. At least in her opinion.

It was like trying to thank Emily for being Emily. Like, theoretically Scout could do it, but it'd be really hard. How could you thank your friend for just that- being your friend? Like of course a "thanks for being there for me!" would suffice, but Scout wanted to do more than suffice. She wanted Emily to take a look into her heart and see how much her Hufflebuddy meant to her! If only it were that easy, then she would have no trouble thanking Ophelia, either.

"You're a really good friend, y'know that?. I'll let you know soon when we can all make it to Hogsmeade, m'kay?"

When Scout leaves, she waves to Ophelia with both her hands, freeing one from the clothes she had brought down in order to do so. It wasn't too much of a trek back to the Gryffindor tower, and the clothes really weren't heavy at all, which was nice. But she did take careful notice to dodge and weave in between paintings and halls that she knew were safe. Not that she was too worried, but there was always a chance there'd be a stray student to bump into, and Scout was not interested in trying to clean that mess up!

Ophelia found herself worrying over Scout's odd pauses again. It wasn't that she didn't trust the Gryffindor or anything like that, of course not. It was just that the pauses had just kept getting more and more loaded, as if Scout was trying to say so many things by just not saying them, and Ophelia wasn't able to decode the meanings.

Whatever Scout was probably going to say before, she seemed to hesitate, then she just went with a small but extremely genuine thank you. Ophelia could really feel the emotion behind it all, and she accepted the thanks with a nod of her head, hoping that Scout could see that she understood in her eyes. The Ravenclaw had always been better at writing her words down than saying them out loud.

"Alright! I'll see you around, Scout." Ophelia gave the Gryffindor a wave and watched as the girl picked up the garments that had previously been strewn all across the bathroom. She thought of offering to help, but then realised that she didn't even have access to Scout's common room so it wouldn't work anyways. Then, she returned the other girl's wave with a smile.

When Scout was gone, Ophelia restarted the task she'd originally come into the bathroom for-- brushing her hair. Somehow, she found herself really excited for whenever Scout would contact her, ready to go to Hogsmeade.
