As Linda listed a few things that they wouldn't have in the wizarding world Mylo felt a bit astonished, some of those things were so ingrained into daily life that it felt weird talking to someone who didn't know about these things.

"We have many things to play games on, PC's; a portable computer, game consoles; basically you have a like a box that you connect to a screen and then you can use a controller to play on the screen. Uhm, I don't think there's really any others. There's some old ones that are smaller and better for travel like a DS and such but I didn't have one. And yeah, our camera's and watches don't use magic. I don't know how they work but I know there's a lot of different sorts of both of them, some mechanical some with like chips and such, oh you might not know what those are, uhm I have no idea how to explain that." They state, realizing that although they know about the objects they don't really have any knowledge on how they actually work.

"Anyway, there's many things we use to cook, a stove which can be electric or gas which is mostly for pots and pans, an oven which is more for trays and a microwave which is more for quick reheating or melting stuff quickly. I'm not sure which one you meant. And yeah, we have smartphones, it's like a small box which has pretty much everything in it. You can message and call people, you can take pictures, play games, look stuff up and many more things." He states, hoping she doesn't ask about any details on any of the things they mentioned. She had also talked about probably not being able to show their family his magic until they were above 18, which made them feel a bit sad. They'd have to do with stories.

"Thanks for the info, I'll keep it in mind. And yeah let's start practicing." He says, picking up their broom and looking to Linda as to what to do next.

After explaining what they knew Mylo wondered if she might want a more in depth explanation of things. "If you want to know more about anything I might be able to see if I can get a book on some particular things? I don't know very much about the things you wanted to know about." Thinking that that might be a better option than having them try to explain everything.

As Mylo had gotten into position to start flying Linda had started explaining the basics, these things had been said during the lessons as well but a refresher could never hurt. Looking at the broom on the floor Mylo couldn't help but start to get a little nervous, what if something went wrong? Or what if nothing happened? Hesitating he closed their eyes and took a breath, remembering what they had been taught and just focusing on trying to get it right. Holding out his hand above their broom they firmly state "Up". Immediately it floats into his hand, they grab it tightly and exhale the breath they were holding, the wood having a comforting feeling in their hand.

Checking it over they notice nothing out of the ordinary and listen to the rest of what Linda had to say, mostly just safety things and not going to high, not that they were planning on doing that anyway, the mention of getting hurt did make Mylo a little nervous but he trusted Linda and that if something were to go wrong that she'd know what to do.

"Not a lot of movement, okay." They state, nodding at the extra tip she'd given them. Linda had already gotten ready on her broom to do what he assumed was a little demonstration, and as she took of he couldn't help but be impressed, she flew with a fluidity and confidence that he couldn't help but hope that they'd also have. Deciding to not delay any further they throw their leg over the broom and examine the surroundings, seeing nothing out of the ordinary they kick off the ground, hovering slightly above it.

Once they were comfortable with the hovering they decide to try going forward a bit, leaning forward ever so slightly while making sure not to point the broom itself down, and slowly but surely they started moving forward! Although it wasn't a huge accomplishment Mylo couldn't help but feel a sense of pride come over them.

"A book on animals? I could probably find a good one on a lot of different ones, it would most likely be a encyclopedia type of book though if you want it on different animals. I hope you don't mind, I'll see what I can do! The holidays are coming up so I'll have a look if I can get one during that."

After having flown around, very slowly mind you, for a little bit Mylo started to feel a little more comfortable on the broom. It seemed like it was just a case of trying to get used to it, and probably the fact that before Hogwarts Mylo had never even heard of a flying broom unless it was in a fantasy story. Linda had even complimented them on their flying! Mylo had immediately been thankful that he had accepted her offer for help.

They had ended up just slowly floating next to her after she had complimented them, and asked if they needed help with anything else. This was quite the question, as there was so much that Mylo could imagine he needed help with but he wasn't quite sure where to start. Making sure to hold on tight to the handle of their broom he turns his head ever so slightly towards her, making sure not to turn the broom itself.

"Uhm, I'm not sure actually. Are there anymore basics I need to know? Or is it just kind of faster and higher now?"

She seemed happy about suggestion of the encyclopedia, and Mylo was pretty sure they had seen one for cheap around one of the charity shops. Hoping it was still there they were already thinking about sending their parents an owl to see if they could get a hold of it.

"Makes sense, I'll probably first just start of trying to go higher." He states, letting her know what he was going to do.

Still hovering on their broom he started to feel more comfortable on it, it didn't feel as stressful as when he first got on but then again he wasn't really moving and had only gone slowly. Linda had answered his question and it seemed like there wasn't that much more to 'learn' about flying. As she was talking about not skateboarding your broom he couldn't help but imagine people doing that, it looked cool but all he could think of was the amount of balance that would require. Balance that they didn't have.

Mylo couldn't help but look on and be a bit impressed as Linda took of at a much higher speed and height than she had been doing previously, and wanted to try doing it himself as well. Grabbing onto the broom he slowly let himself fly upwards wanting to feel what it's like going higher.

He'd gotten to about twice the height as he was previously at and looked down. All of a sudden the ground seemed so far away and Mylo couldn't help but start to panic. 'What if I fall, I'm so high up, what if I lose balance like before that would hurt, oh god I'm going to fall.' He could feel the wood of the broom digging into his hands with how hard he was holding on, they were starting to feel sweaty though which wasn't helping the anxiety they were feeling but for some reason they couldn't move themselves to the ground.

They were seriously starting to panic as his body didn't want to cooperate with getting to the ground and they were on the verge of hyperventilating.

Apparently heights is not something Mylo was very good with.

Mylo was properly panicking, not being able to get to the ground and having very little flying experience was messing with their head. Apparently Linda had noticed the state they were in and had approached Mylo trying to get them to calm down.

In his state he didn't notice her at all at first, he was too busy panicking and couldn't focus on anything else. But as she started talking to them he slowly was able to shift their focus from the ground beneath them. Unfortunately being able to shift their focus wasn't stopping him from panicking, and the fear of falling or losing control was still not subsiding.

An attempt to try and take a full deep breath was met with a slight wobble on his broom which left him holding on even tighter to their broom, he wasn't aware that was even possible, doing their best to not fall.

He knew he had to calm down and relax so that he could get back down to the ground, but that was easier said than done and Mylo was left taking quick, shallow breaths as an attempt to calm down. Softly muttering to themselves he attempted another strategy to calm down, "You're not going to fall, you're not going to fall, it's going to be okay, you're not going to fall." Repeating it over and over, once again in an unfortunate state of panic.
