Lycanthropy
Werewolf? A game Frost had never heard of. Thank heaven Professor Lear had explained it.
Frost sat down, criss-crossed, in the circle the other students were in. Tucking a piece of her orangey hair behind her ear, she listened to all of the characters and backstories said into the circle.
When it came to be her turn to speak, she hesitated.
Why hadn't she been thinking of a muggle job while she waited to hear the others?
Without thinking, she blurted out the first thing that came to her mind.
"A BAKER!"
Oof. Not what she expected. But she couldn't back down now.
She cleared her throat and tucked more hair behind her ear.
"Yes. I am a baker. I bake everything I can think of!"
Raising her eyebrows innocently, she thought of a backstory.
"I grew up in this village and my parents are from France. Though my dad died long ago. I pick up baking from my Mother! She owned a bakery in France!"
There. A completely different life than she had. This would be fun.
Clasping her pale hands together, she grinned at the group.
"I don't think we should vote either. It's too early."
Hopefully, Frost was doing this right. After all, she had never played werewolf before.

Alaska had seen so many people play a similar game back in London. Of course, she had never played it for several obvious reasons. It wasn't that she disliked the game, it was simply because she was considered the 'freakish' girl. Ever since she had unwillingly revealed her first signs of magic in front of muggles, they had reminded her daily that she should have been burned at the Salem Witch Trials. Of course, no one has /really/ seen her do magic, however, that's the danger of rumors combined with public school.
Now, she was actually in a game of Mafia, well, as Professor Lear called it, Werewolf. An elated lot of 11 young campers sat around in a somewhat circular fashion. Alaska waited patiently while the Professor went around whispering their roles into the camper's ears. Glancing around, she knew no one, although she did recognize many from her walks to and fro her classes. "(insert role here)", Lear whispered in her right ear. From her many 'bystander' experiences with this game, she knew she had to keep a poker face. Luckily, she was used to putting on straight faces. If not, she would have chuckled a little.
There were many regular, anticipated responses from everyone explaining their role in the village. There was a monster hunter, a thief, a traveler, a bounty hunter, a baker, and lastly, an 'electricity wizard'. As hard as she tried to keep her impending explosion of laughter from happening, she could not help but burst. An electricity wizard? She doesn't blame the boy for he probably lived isolated from the muggle world but his answer really feathered her funny bone.
As her giggles finally died down, she began to explain her role in the village. It would be best to go with something specific, but still seem normal. "During the daytime, I work at the hair salon tending customer's hair. During the evening, I am a singer for the local pub. I am married to a lovely news reporter, with two lovely twin boys who sometimes like to follow me around the day when they don't have school." She paused for a moment and decided to add to her story in order to make it more realistic. "I've been frightened all day and night about the rumors of werewolves lurking around our town. Oh, I hope I can keep my two sons safe."
As her story ended, she started to ponder on who she should vote. The 'electricity magician' boy seemed like a viable choice. It looked like as if he was trying a little too hard to come up with a convincing role. Then again, there was the other boy who said he was a thief and leader of a gang. That alone seemed very obvious that he would not hesitate to kill, making him another target on Alaska's list of possible werewolves. However, the Gryffindor girl's reason not to vote also seemed like a good idea. Perhaps it was best not to vote on someone, or else it might create a target on her back. Not that she was worried since she was not a werewolf nor a minion (Or is she???). "I am also not voting. The monster hunter girl's reason seems like the best option for all of us."

THIS was pretty familiar to Reid, except nothing like this storyline. He's pretended he was a courageous knight or a celebrated king for quite some time in his youth, but his muggle friend Theo would usually shoot him down pretty quick. His adventures were centered around who would be the king of the playground, the champion was the one who could bruise the others the most of course. It was all child's play and so was this as far as he was concerned. Lear's instructions and explanation was clear to him since his interest was paid so attentively.
HE was largely unaware of the existence of actual werewolves in the wizarding world, all of this was supernatural fables to him. Reid sat beside the closest person he came upon, many of the students whose name he didn't know. Faces only grew on him after passing them on the halls, he could only recall a few of them. Nevertheless, it didn't matter as it seemed that he wasn't going to be Reid Kovacs - but a different character entirely. Who was he? Could he be anyone? There was so much freedom that he couldn't even think of a single person he wanted to be.
WHAT if his choice was wrong? Anxiously, the boy waited his turn before piping up with an answer that came to mind. "I'm the local blacksmith, I have kids, I guess. But I work so that I can help feed them." For a moment, Reid looked visibly conflicted that he even bothered to add kids into the mix. Cooties were gross and as far as he was concerned, so was marriage. His backstory didn't seem like it was going to be as extensive as the others. "Uh ... I sell weapons to everyone who wants it and that has been a lot of people recently. I sell butterknives too and maybe some other utensils. I can make things that aren't sharp, but I like making sharp things so that's what I enjoy more. Business is good because of the talk of the werewolf so it's been hard to complain, really. I used to be a part of the town's guard, but I have a bad knee because I fell down some stairs. I fell down a long set of stairs."
REID also remembered what some of the others were saying, it didn't seem like a bad idea. The girl was smart and her logic made sense as far as he was concerned, neither was it actually in his nature to disagree with something possibly beneficial. It seemed too soon to jump to conclusions and the boy wanted to live long enough to see one round at least. "I don't think we should vote either, not yet at least. It's too soon for things."
"Trouble usually finds me."

"Daytime is almost over" (24 more hours) Solomon shouted at the bickering students. "Another 60 seconds!" He starts counting down a bit faster than he should with a grin on his face. "Vote out that were!"
OC:
- If you have not voted already, please do so. This is as a villager (if you are a were/minion remember that you are also believed to be a villager so you get a vote!) vote and said out loud in character.
- You have another 24 OC hours, then night falls!

Oliver shook his head, flicking the empty chocolate frog box around in his hand. "Annabelle is right, I'm not voting," Oliver announced. He looked around the table, he definitely had some suspicions already but he'd keep them to himself. He didn't want any enemies or wolf attention. Anything he knew from playing this game before was that the loud kids always get eaten. So Oliver kept his mouth closed and continued to sit back in his chair, idle and observing everyone. He had no real plan, just hoped that he wouldn't be taken out tonight and put on the sideline before anything else happens. With a fold of his arms, he waited until anxiously for night time.

Phaedra knew this game well, often playing it with her many cousins back home. An imaginative girl, she was grateful for the chance by Professor Lear to make up her own roles and decided to go with an occupation a bit more fitting and useful for a small town.
"I am a merchant who also specialises in tailoring," she said, a content grin on her face. "People from all over the village look to me for their dressing needs." Her eyes shifting over many of the other faces in the large circle, she continued, leaning backwards on her hands a bit.
"Those who buy from me enjoy mouthing off while I'm completing their measurements - Many tell me they are preparing to hunt the beast ravaging this village, in hopes that I supply them all with clothing and shoes to layer on underneath their armour." She found no need to include anything about children or a spouse like the rest of them. Phaedra hoped this short backstory would suffice - really, she just wanted to get to the fun part already, and although she wasn't a very good liar herself, she had an eye for determining the same in others.
It appeared that most of the people in the group wanted to wait out the night before potentially risking any harm to an innocent. It was a logical move - she hadn't seen anyone so far who looked suspicious and the lack of evidence didn't help. Once the day was over, then the group would be able to start cracking down.
"Fine. We can hold off on voting for now and wait until nightfall."

Nobody would vote, so nobody would die. They were abstaining like the rest, allowing night to come so they can take their blood tithe then. Solomon watched the children with mild interest, not a single one of them took this chance to take control of this vote. Everyone was staying under the radar.
Solomon let out a low laugh, kids these days.
No innocents would die.
No weres would die.
Solomon would wait for the full sixty'ish seconds and then draw his wand. "Night falls and the were lives still!" Solomon proclaimed. His wand still drawn as he cast another charm and the setting became as dark as tar. "And darkness is upon you." Solomon would await the were's target, the Seer's vision and the potion master's patient. A death cry would likely break the peace of this 'night' soon enough.

It is dark.
You killed nobody as there was no majority, you need the will to make those hard choices!
Feel free to RP being left in the dark.
Weres, send me your vote if you have not already. Remember to do this in my owl box or DM box.
Seer, tell me your target if you have not already. Remember to do this in my owl box or DM box.
Potion Master, tell me who you are going to save. Remember to do this in my owl box or DM box.
You have 2 days to vote. Otherwise your chance to vote will be lost!

Need the will to make hard choices? Annabelle scoffed. It didn't take "will" to randomly kill somebody off. Sure, there were likely to be some hard choices involved in this game. They were playing a game of life or death after all... but this decision was certainly not one of them. Anna wondered exactly why the Professor took such a negative stance on their decision to refrain from killing. It made zero sense at this stage, certainly he could see that? Who could defend themselves? And against what? The rumors? He seemed insistent that the very logical move they had made came from some sort of cowardice. Perhaps he was rooting for the wolves. Perhaps he was simply a fan of chaos.
Annabelle closed her eyes to simulate the nighttime phase. Her heart pumped as she imagined herself in a monster hunter's lair. It was a Muggle house in her mind, but was decorated with unusal furs and dangerous weapons. She imagined herself sitting by the window in a rocking chair, a crossbow poised in her arms. Perhaps she and her partner would take turns sleeping. She was sharp and wide-eyed, ready to skewer any wolf that made its way through her doors.
Of course in reality she was none of these things. She was every bit as vulnerable as the next citizen, waiting patiently to see if she would be the one to die. There was certainly additional risk for the talkative Prefect. She had been the most outspoken during the previous round, and her plan had robbed the wolves of what would most likely bee a free kill for their side. But maybe they would let her live for the night... as the most talkative, it may be easy to turn the town against her. Or perhaps she would be saved by the Potions Master. For now, all she could do was wait.

OC: Sorry, staff distractions.
IC:
On this night, nobody was going to have to die. Perhaps there was no werewolf after all. Perhaps the wolf had decided to not hunt tonight. Perhaps... the were had turned a victim, adding to their numbers. It was hard to say. But night dragged on, no laughter would break the peace and the security and then it would be daytime once again.
The darkness would fade away and the sun would shine brightly on them. Everyone was still alive, this party was either exceptionally fortunate, hesitant to kill, up to no good, or Solomon was messing with them even more than expected. Solomon would never do the last so it must be one of the former.
"Day time- Day time!" Solomon proclaimed in a sing-song voice. he eyed the students. "Looks like nobody died last night. In fact not a single person has died," he commented. This was a game of psychological manipulation, luck, and apparently in their case Hufflehugs?
"The werewolf still lives... maybe" he was messing with them a bit. Letting them doubt. "Vote... or let another night pass, see if I would make a game as boring as one without a wolf," a completely feasible possibility right? The odds are not in their favor, there was a distinct possibility that they would send an innocent man or woman to the slaughter but it was almost certain that if the werewolves are allowed to persist or proliferate, innocents will die or at least suffer greatly from a tickle spell. "Will you vote for one potential were to go to the gallows, what say you good people of Hogwarts?"

Annabelle's eyes flew open. Nobody dead? Well that was interesting...Perhaps the weres had turned someone? Or maybe the Potion Master had saved the potential victim? Annabelle didn't want to hang anyone on zero evidence, but there was nothing to go off of here, unless... it was risky. She'd have to ask someone to reveal themselves, and there was no guarantee that a liar wouldn't stake the claim. Anna wondered briefly if there could be secret communication in this game. Surely there could be, right? But in the daytime, between villagers? She wished there was another way. Still, she looked up at the group and summoned all of the confidence she could muster. "Potions Master," Annabelle addressed the group, not knowing who, if anyone, held the role. "If you healed anyone last night, we need to know, it might be our only clue." Anna of course realized that the Potions Master would be putting themselves at risk by revealing her identity, but he/she was the only one on the town's side who could possibly have any leads. "If you can find a way to tell me in secret so the wolves don't ID you, that would be ideal. You can trust me- why would I have suggested that we don't randomly kill people if I wanted people to die? I'm on your side, and that goes for the rest of the town too."
