Observing Period
The time jumped to the September 30th and it was the start of Autumn Season. Dittany's Leaves had their next activity: observing the plants. Zach was sending letters to the club members to do observations on the plants together some days before. It was really a hard job for Zephyr, his owl.
The boy was standing in front of the greenhouse until all the club members that plant aloe vera with him were there. "Uh... Hello!" The lad was too awkward to speak. "So, our next activity is observing our plants. I hope you checked the plants daily or at least once a weak." Zach gave a weak smile. He looked at the members then started to talk again. "What we have to do is make reports. Just make it simple like is it healthy or not or is infested by the slugs, something like that. You can report anything regarding your aloe vera's condition."
Zach went to his aloe vera and brought it to the members who attended that meeting. "Like this. I would call it that it is in good condition. Healthy leaves, no sign of sickness, like that." The boy cleared his throat. The atmosphere was really awkward. "Uh and if your aloe vera is infested by the slugs, you can cast Incendio at them. Or... If you're okay with being slimy or don't have the confidence to cast it, you can manually collect them in that bucket."
The last word before he started the activity, "I am here if you need help. We can also help each other. Have fun with the observation." Zach put back his aloe vera and started to write a report regarding his plant's growth.

Kim returned to the greenhouse the following day, because it was a habit for him, he always paid visits there. It was time spent where he actually almost felt some relief from the crushing darkness within him. Taking care of the plants was something that gave him some kind of light inside. After watering and caring for the plants inside the greenhouse, he tended to Aloe too. As time passed, with Kim visiting the greenhouse once a day, the time finally came for the club's next meeting, the observational period. Upon entering, he saw Zach there and inclined his head to him. Thankfully, no one else was around at the moment, which was awesome. He wouldn't have to give out greetings since there was just him and Zach at the moment. Making his way over to Aloe, Kim's expression darkened a little upon seeing slugs infesting his plant. Not even thinking much about it, he took out his wand and using the correct wand movement incanted, "Incendio!" There would be NO slugs hurting Aloe, Kim would make sure of that. How dare slugs try and swarm Aloe?! The punishment was burning alive. They should have known better than to attack her. No one could hurt Aloe.... Kim remained standing before Aloe, looking down at the spots where he'd last seen the slugs. There had better not be any of them left on the plant. Or there would be hell to pay, he'd make sure of that. |

𝓑ex observed Grandma Vera the Plant thoughtfully, the tip of her tongue sticking out as she considered what to write in her notes. Having made sure to come and check on her plant every couple of days for the last month, she was very satisfied to see that it was doing well, but she wouldn't want to get too complacent. Her little plant was relying on her, and she'd hate to have it's death on her hands.
No brown or black spots on it's leaves, she wrote. After checking that all of the plants lower leaves were healthy, and not brown or mushy, she added no signs of root rot to her notes. Leaves are wide and plump, appears to be getting enough sunlight. Finally, and perhaps most importantly, she wrote, no slugs, and underlined it three times.
"Anything you need?" She asked the plant, crouching down to it's eye level. "Physical needs are important, but don't be afraid to share your emotional needs, too."
Grandma Vera the Plant said nothing, and Bex nodded in understanding. She gently stuck her fingers into the soil, ensuring that it was adequately watered, before returning the plant back to it's favorite spot of sunlight. Brushing the dirt off of her hands and onto her jeans, she made her way around the room to see if anyone needed any assistance with their slugs.

"TERRY!!! I have so much to tell you my little aloey friend!"
Estelle grinned, bringing Terry to a corner of the greenhouse. Her jumpsuit was a little dirty from a little bit the soil falling out as she spun, but she had no regrets. She loved gardening, loved naming her plants and loved Terry.
Estelle began to tell Terry about everything that had happened since she last saw him.
"Ok so, I met a new friend a few nights ago. She's called Astra. She was sleepwalking and I woke her up which probably wasn't good, but it ended up ok. I showed her the way back to her common room and we agreed to be friends!
I also made a very good friend called Delilah! We snuck into Hogsmeade together!
Finally, I made an enemy. His name is Alejendro and he's sooo annoying. He interrupted my homework to talk about how much he hates Astronomy then swore at me in Spanish for literally no reason! I haven't seen him since then and hope I won't again.
Anyway, enough about me! Time for your checkup."
Estelle grabbed her notebook and looked at Terry. He seemed to be healthy, without a slug in sight.
"You're doing well, Terry!"
