What a great way to end the summer camp. Zophyr had been looking forward to the match ever since she'd first heard about it. Her very first quidditch match had not gone so great, but she was sure today would be much better.
Especially once she saw the other team. She'd always had something of a prejudice against Amercians, but seeing them on the pitch, for real... god, they were so loud and optimistic. Optimism was fine and all, but this much, it was almost sickening. She even heard Izîl, a chaser on her team, make a note about it to Kissa, her fellow beater.
Zophyr gripped her broom and looked up at the sky. Sure, it was raining a little, but that didn't stop the grin on her face. Here went another game. And she was ready.

Theo was excited. Despite his rather low luck with Quidditch so far, he couldn't wait to get back into it. He didn't exactly mean that he wanted to get into playing against a bunch of younger children who would likely be crushed by them, but he would take what he got.
At least Phyllis was playing as well! The presence of one of his best friends since first year was quite a plus. When he was in the air, waiting for the game to begin, he would glance her way, playfully pointing his beater's bat at her. "Heck yes! We got this!"

In the role of Beater, if you critically hit with a bludger, instead of doing double-damage you do 2.5x damage. If you critically fail with your bludger attempt to hit, rather than having your bludger randomly target another user (including yourself or an ally) the bludger cannot target you on a critical fail (but it can still target your allies). On a re-target, there is a random roll for target and then a fresh accuracy roll.

It was time for something a bit more official. Tig had come from a scrimmage of sorts with some random players around the summer camps, but now it was the real deal. He closed his eyes as things began to kick off, and he floated in front of his post as a keeper. This is where making a name could theoretically matter a bit more. The Americans seemed to be coming in force and two schools needed to team up against them. Cohesion could be an issue, but he knew these other guys had skills as well.

"On the same team now," Tigist noted to his new teammates, ex-enemies, as he opened his eyes. A smirk came to his face as he prepared to block and show off his skills.

	----- Mkhaku held his silver arrow aloft as he walked onto the pitch, flashing his bright and full smile across to anyone that’d seek it out, not dulled by the light drizzle that was falling into the tight curls of his ebon hair. “Americas, how are you liking England? - It’s the Brooklyn of the Mid-West they say!” He grinned wider, having given that in the Brooklyn accent he’d been taught to do on his travels. Seemingly, he was a very jovial chap, even though they all seemed to be hyper focused on the game rather than the experience of meeting all these strange people who were usually a world away. He waved it off, rolling his shoulders and took to the air. “Hebu tuwaonyeshe nani ana kiburi?! Simba wa Afrika.” Let's show them who's got pride?! Africas' lions. He called in Swahili, throwing his fist into the air.

Akihiko had played against this team at the start of the month, and now he had to play with them? This was sure to be an interesting game, given that he had beat them. He arrived in all the chatter but wasn't paying attention, and was instead holding onto his new broom tightly. A tinderblast, it was shaped so that it almost had the appearance of a tree. And in this game he would actually get to use it, for he was playing first string chaser this game. "Let's go, um, team..?" He called nervously.

Effects: In the role of Seeker, if an opponent attempts to Bludger or Blatch you, there is a 20% chance that you veer out of the way the last second and another enemy player at RANDOM is targeted instead.

Chasers

The fight for the quaffle is a vicious one. Izil is left to fend against all three of the American chasers but stands strong in the face of such opposition. It quickly becomes apparent that Elowen is Ilvermorny's target for the quaffle when Amber passes the ball to set him up in front of goal. Tigist stands strong however and dutifully maneuvers into the way of the attempt to block the goal. Izil manages on her own to sneak the quaffle out of the clutches of the the opposing chasers only to have Phylicia prove to be a wall in front of the goal posts as another goal is denied.

The crowd erupts into cheers and shouts as the next attempt for points is denied by Tigist, only for him to zero in on Theodore and launch the quaffle as an improvised bludger at the unfortunate beater. Quaffles seem to prove just as dangerous as their counterparts when used correctly as it smacks into his shoulder with a heavy thud. The battle for the quaffle continues to go the way of Uagadou-Mahoutokoro as Izil makes another blocked attempt on goal before stealing the ball mid pass between Ilvermorny's chasers to make another attempt. For all the action in the first moments of the game, only one ball manages to make it through the goals thanks to the efforts of the keepers.

Beaters

Both teams come out swinging. Or, nearly so. Kissa and Sota both remain motionless as they look around the field at the action. This nearly proves Kissa's downfall as Theodore lines up one of the bludgers darting around the field and bats it toward the unsuspecting beater. Luck must have had a hand, or the bludger a mind of its own, as the rocketing missile veers just off course and barely misses Kissa.

The violence continues as Mkhaku and Zophyr move in tandem to try and dish out an unfortunate time for some of the American students. Mkhaku darts towards Miles as the boy dutifully defends their seeker on her search. He slams into the beater bodily, putting enough force behind the hit to topple Miles right over the side of the broom even as the voice of the announcer rises up. "That's a foul! Penalty, Mkhaku! What happened to a civil game?!" While the crowd focuses on the fallen beater, Zophyr aims the second bludger towards Louca as he battles for the quaffle. While the bludger flies wide, hope could be held that it at least distracted from the midfield fight for the quaffle.

Seekers

Both seekers are immediately on the hunt for the snitch amidst the chaos. A moment passes before Kaya is able to catch sight of a golden glimmer darting in the distance, locking on to the snitch as it flits about the field. Akihiko is left searching the field as the snitch remains ever elusive.

And just like that they were off. Louca knew his roles in the whole thing and quickly shot off into the sky. He headed towards the quaffle, but out of the corner of his eye caught sight of a body swinging the beater's bat around. Unsure if it was headed his way or not but wanting to play things safe, he quickly dodged out of what he thought the path of the bludger that was directed his way would be. Thankfully he had chosen right. Unfortunately that meant in his distraction, he had missed his chance at the quaffle. He thought he had heard some commotion, but hadn't realized what it was, focused as he had been on the quaffle and then dodging the bludger. It took him only moments to realize that Miles, their fearless Hexiwizard champion had been fouled. He slipped into the Quebecois French slang which he found much more familiar. "Franchement? Tu me gosses!" He didn't really care if anyone understood him but he was still frustrated that not only was his team off to a rough start but that there had been such a dirty hit already. "Really? What's wrong with you?" He debated adding a gesture but figured that wouldn't be of any help to his team. Taking a moment to breathe, he prepared for the next part of the game to get underway.

... And then they didn't seem to have it at all. With a powerful swing Theo would send a bludger towards one of the opponent beaters- but where his aim was usually amazing, he really rarely missed, out of all occasions, he had to miss now. His bludger flew past the kid he had aimed for and off into the distance.

Momentarily distracted, he was promptly chosen as target by the keeper to... yeet the quaffle at. The fifth year only had time to shield his head with his arms, when the quaffle hit his shoulder painfully. And not only he was hit, when he looked up again, he saw one of the chasers tackle Miles right off of his broom! "No!" He didn't try to catch Miles, despite his broom being a speedy one, there was no way he could have made it. Helplessly he watched his teammate fall, praying that he wouldn't get hurt too much.

"What the hell is wrong with you?!", he would yell at the chaser, a seldomly shown expression of anger on his face. Seriously, the kid was what, 12? And so willing to risk people getting seriously hurt? Alright then... Game on.

I took off from the ground and immediately grabbed the quaffle passing it to Elowen. But the other teams Keeper saves it. Afterwards Elowen grabs the quaffle but again their keeper saves it. I was getting a bit frustrated.
Then the other team gets the quaffle and scores. I sigh. Out of the corner of my eye I saw Miles fall to the ground. No one is close enough to save him. I winced. I hope he's okay and not hurt but still.
I had to focus on the game. The other team was ahead and we were down one player. They were playing dirty and I didn't like it.
