”Yes, diet.” Eun-ji confirmed only now realising that Sam couldn’t have known what purpose it was supposed to serve. “I'm not trying to lose weight or anything.” God knows she didn’t need that. “I just need to stay in shape since I do ballet as a hobby.” She would not mention that it was her dream to dance professionally. She had to give up on that the moment she entered Hogwarts. It was enough that she was feeling sorry for herself, she didn’t need anybody else to pity her. “If you ever get candy you don't want, you can always give them to me!” The witch nodded. “Sure.” She usually just outright refused them but if she somehow ended up getting some, there was no reason not to give them to Sam. She had no use for them anyway.

“Mm-hmm.” Eun-ji hummed as she listened to the younger girl. It was clear that her home was either very peaceful or she was an incredibly sheltered child. Either way, the Ravenclaw thought it was good. Let her stay blissfully oblivious and enjoy her childhood for as long as possible. Sam was no doubt very naïve, which could cause trouble for her in the future but Eun-ji didn’t feel like bursting her happy little bubble now. It was not her place to do so anyway. Besides, her captain was really doing well. If something happened later on, she’d be able to deal with it. Especially since she actually had friends…unlike Eun-ji herself. Although to be fair, she only had herself to blame for that one. Samantha would know how good she was at pushing people away. She had experienced it first-hand.

“But I am concerned.” The raven-haired witch did her best not to react. Such open display of worry made uncomfortable and so she did as always, when she felt cornered. Diverting attention to entirely different topic. Eun-ji was truly great at that. Most people didn't even realise what she was doing.

Sure enough, after mentioning Samantha’s boyfriend, the other girl visibly brightened and took the bait. Eun-ji was relieved to see her plan succeed so easily. She herself was not lucky when it came to love. The witch only just made peace with the fact that there was a certain boy pulling on her heartstrings, when he decided to disappear on her. For once, her thoughts were rather selfish. Even though Flash leaving probably meant to help him, she still wished he would stick around. There was nothing she could do for him and yet…she was so reluctant to let him go. Would she feel better if he said goodbye in person? Probably not but at least she could justify her anger with it.

“He sounds like a great guy.” Eun-ji commented eventually. If he was as kind and understanding as Sam perceived him to be, then he was a real treasure. “You should hold onto him then.” You never know when he might turn his back on you. It would be nice if only the bad people did so but that was not the case. She’d better treasure the relationship so she won’t end up having regrets later on.

A diet still sounded horrible to the young girl. Food was amazing and she couldn't imagine having to watch what you were eating. She tilted her head slightly at the comment about staying in shape for ballet. Was staying in shape super important for sports? She hoped not! She loved dueling but she loved her food more, no way she would go on a diet for it. Sorry not sorry dueling. "I guess to each their own," the brunette commented, not even trying to hide the judgment in her voice. At least the older girl agreed to give her the candy she didn't want. Maybe other people being on a diet wasn't too bad after all. If it meant she would get free candy she was all in for it!

"He is a great guy indeed," she said confidently. In her mind, she saw Bubba's beautiful brown eyes and amazing smile and couldn't help but grin herself. "I will!" she replied. "He is stuck with me." The young girl didn't see any reason why their relationship would ever end. They would stay together forever, get married after Hogwarts and be just as happy as her parents. There was no other option. She didn't know if she wanted kids yet, she was way too young to think about that, but she was sure she didn't want any pets.

If Bubba did want pets that was too bad for him because they weren't getting any. Maybe she should tell him that so he knew? The brunette shook the thought, pets weren't important know, she was with Eun-ji now. "What about you?" she turned to Eun-ji, suddenly very interested in the older student. "Do you like somebody?" There were a thousand questions she wanted to ask. Maybe Eun-ji was already dating somebody! Wouldn't that be amazing?

With the whole diet talk done and over with, it appeared Eun-ji managed to steer the conversation even further away from their initial topic. She allowed herself to relax a little and listen to Sam’s ramblings. The younger girl sounded really smitten. It was…cute. Hopefully the excitement she felt would last for a long time. She seemed to be convinced that the two of them would stick together forever but Eun-ji was skeptical. She used to be quite romantic but that aspect of her personality changed in the last two years. As many things did.

“That’s good then.” The witch nodded, seemingly satisfied with what she heard. It may have sounded a bit naïve but her classmate was obviously happy, which was indeed good. “What about you? Do you like somebody?” Eun-ji blinked, not expecting the attention to turn back to her quite so fast. A certain Slytherin’s face involuntary ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)flashed through her mind. She was still wearing the wildflower perfume he left her as a parting gift. Why she decided to torture herself like that remained a mystery even to her but it did smell really nice. As with many other affairs in her life, this one too ended up breaking her heart. It appeared she had nothing nice to share with the other girl. How pitiful…

By the time her train of thought finished, Eun-ji realised the pause has been far too long to pretend the topic of love didn’t interest her at all. However, what was she supposed to say? That her romance ended before it even had a chance to start? She wasn’t even sure if Flash liked her like that. “Not at the moment.” The witch finally settled on a simple answer. Of course, it was not like she stopped liking the boy just because he left but it was easier to pretend that she did. Perhaps if she pretended for long enough, it would eventually become true. Besides, she didn’t have the luxury to fall in love with just anybody…unless she was willing to let them suffer, which she was definitely not thank you very much.
