Emma grinned, happy that Işık seemed to have confidence in her, even when Emma didn’t have much in herself. Well, admittedly it was better than it had been due to Işık’s tutelage, but she’d have to wait and see if she could pull it off without them guiding her. “I appreciate the vote of confidence! I do. After all I can’t really get worse.” Emma chuckled a bit, but admittedly felt the last line might have been better to keep to herself if only because there was the possibility it might be taken in the wrong tone. Emma meant it as a joke rather than an insult.
“I’m sure you’d be able to find resources. Maybe in the library? Or if not, I can definitely take a look at some muggle stores. They’ve got books on every language it seems. If only phones worked here, Duolingo probably could teach it easily, and you could also hear the pronunciation rather than just trying to understand the phonetics.” Emma frowned slightly, partially annoyed with the wizarding world that seemed to remove some of the convenience of the muggle world. Of course there were tradeoffs but sometimes it just seemed so annoying. This was just one of those times.
“I really like sunflowers! They grow so tall and just look so happy. I’ve heard that if there’s no sun, they’ll turn to each other, but that seems a bit off so I don’t think it’s true. Still it’s a bit of a happy thought right?” Emma giggled slightly. She felt as if she was more comfortable than normal, or maybe just in a rambly mood today as she was speaking much more than she normally would.
“Well, I can’t tell you too much as I just started the first book but it’s about this kid, who heard stories from his grandfather about being a Jew in World War Two and hiding in this home with strange children. After his grandfather died, he starts having nightmares and his parents are convinced to go visit the town. That’s pretty much as far as I’ve gotten. I’m curious to see what happens next. It’s quite interesting actually. If you’d like, once I’m finished I can loan it to you. While as long as I finish it before end of school. Otherwise it might have to wait until next year.” Emma honestly thought she would be able to finish it before then but there was studying still to do so it was better to temper expectations if Işık even wanted to read it.
Emma waved her hand. “Chocolate anything is good. I appreciate it. Thank you for sharing.” Emma took the offered cake, and realized that she didn’t have a fork, she did something she was sure her mother would admonish her for. She pulled a small piece from the cake and quickly put it in her mouth, letting the cake rest on her tongue for a moment before chewing. “yummm…that is good. Is there a recipe? I think learning some baking will have to be on my summer to do list.”
Emma paused for a moment, taking another bite of cake as she thought. “I really dislike liver, I don’t know if it’s the smell or the look or what, but it’s just…blech.” Emma stuck her tongue out, making an obviously disgusted face. “For desserts, It’s fruitcake. I don’t know. Something about the flavor maybe? What about you? Anything you truly despise food wise?”
Furrowing her brow, Emma looked at Işık. “You mean, like my blood type? Not a clue. We hadn’t gotten that far in sciences. I think if I would have taken biology in a few years, we would have done that. Why do you ask?”

@Emma Wynn
The Işık involuntarily blushed at this compliment(?). She cursed herself, thinking she looked so ugly.
"Duallingo? Sorry, I don't know about muggle stuff. Is it the item? Or a person?"
Işık couldn't hide her smile. She felt pretty ignorant right now.
Even the thought is good. So like lovers who will never be.Because when she turns to him, she looks at the other. But they all love the Sun. They only look at each other when the sun goes down.
I hope I didn't explain it wrong, thought Işık. Because it was not very understandable.
"Wow the book looks pretty good. I'd be very happy if you read it and give it away."
Hearing that she accepted her request, Işık hands Emma the cake.
"Unfortunately, I do not know the recipe, but I can write to my aunt and ask. Don't worry, I don't know either "
Işık is glad that Emma liked the cake. She showed her with a smile.
"Actually, I'm not very picky, but I don't know if you know lentil soup, but I detest it. But I've never eaten liver. I'm not that picky about dessert. Well, what's your favorite book genre?"
Işık realized what he had said wrong as a result of Emma's reply. She blushed a little and replied:
"Sorry, I said wrong. What's your wizard blood? Pure-blood? Half-blood? Muggle-born?

Emma blushed, forgetting that just as she didn’t know everything about the wizarding world, not everyone knew much about the wizarding world. Deciding she could just explain it as she had had other people explain wizarding world items to her, Emma determinedly spoke. “Oh, sorry about that! It’s an app for a cell phone. Basically a small phone that you can carry around. An app is just kind of a game or something that you can play on the phone. Duolingo is meant to help you learn many different languages. It can be fun, and fairly simple to practice a little every day. Even gives you a reminder if you forget to check in before a certain time on a day.” Emma shrugged, not knowing what else to say. “Oh, but obviously that doesn’t work here sadly.”
She was glad to see that Işık wasn’t mad that Emma had used a term she didn’t know. Not everyone was so understanding about things like that. Or willing to explain to her the new terms that came with the wizarding world. Emma grinned at the explanation, nodding along with it. “That sounds amazing! I couldn’t put anything in words like that.”
Emma was happy when Işık thought the book was interesting. “Of course! I love talking books with people and especially if we’ve both read the same book. It’s interesting how people can get different things from the same book.” Emma enjoyed the discussions about books, and sharing her love for them.
“That would be awesome thank you! I haven’t baked much but it’s something I’d like to try. It seems like a good skill to have.” Emma continued to eat the cake in small pieces broken from the main slice, enjoying the flavors that burst on her tongue. “I don’t think I’ve tried it yet, so I can’t commiserate. I tend to like fantasy or adventure books. But I’ll try most anything to see if it will grab my attention.”
Emma blushed, now realizing it was so obvious what Işık meant by her question. That made more sense than her literal blood type. “I’m a muggle-born. Had no clue about this whole other world until now. What about you?”
