Right off the bat, the Gryffindors seemed to select Callista as their initial target. Each duellist stuck to their tactic, reiterating their previous moves, meaning she was once again buffeted by Ventus from Alan and Incendio Duo from Adeline. The onslaught was nearly enough to drag her under, with the wind whipping in her ears and the flames biting at her robes. But before the tenacious badger could be dragged unconscious, her teammate sent a revitalizing Reparifors her way. Willow had a knack for healing magics, meaning her cast packed an extra perk. Callista remained on her feet, even retaliating a solid Flipendo back against Adeline, though the Hufflepuff was looking worse for wear. Pericles stood still on the sidelines, inexpressive save the sharp attentiveness he afforded the action.

Adeline's eyes glinted with a dangerous arrogance as her second spell made contact. She felt no sympathy for her opponent despite the rough state she was in after taking four consecutive hits, and though a well-aimed Flipendo managed to knock Addie back a bit as well, she brushed it off.

Her thoughts turned to all the times Jasper and Louis had teased her for her weak magical abilities and called her a squib. The same anger that burned then still burned now, fueling her as she clenched her jaw and prepared for the next round.

Alan was feeling rather confident with how this duel was going. They for sure were in a good position, which made it a little puzzling on how to proceed, without destroying their current advantage. He glanced over at Adeline, who was doing just fine on her own. Willow just had healed her pair and Alan knew she was great at healing spells, so that was just a little bad. He wondered if that would have been the finishing blow, if it hadn't been for the sweet badger.

The next round was shockingly similar to the previous round─well, perhaps not that shockingly. "Flipendo!" For a brief second before casting, a shiver of fear shocked her. What if it doesn't work again? Callista would be lying if she said that her previous failure hadn't made her hesitant to cast again, but her shred of pride commanded her to try again. She couldn't try something new without having tried to get the jinx out again. That would be like giving up, and for all her shyness, Callista had never been one to just give up. Run away, yes, refuse to try, yes, even hold herself back, yes, but never had she given up.

A breath of relief escaped her as a jet of electric blue light shot out from her wand without resistance. Coupled with a hint of satisfaction from hitting her target, a ghost of a smile whisked across her face. Soon enough, though, two more forces crashed into her, one a fiery orange-red and the other a translucent burst of wind. The impact was dizzying, and Callista vaguely noted that her robes were now on fire. She could barely keep herself on her feet, let alone do something about the flickering tongues of flame that now surrounded her like a strangely captivating incandescent wreath. The red-hot fire reflected off her brown eyes, lighting them with an ethereal glow. For a second, she appeared almost otherworldly, her robes billowing like wings in the wind and smoking tendrils of dark fog.

Shoot.

Callista very nearly thought she passed out, and she could have sworn her vision blacked out for a second. Thankfully, Willow's Reparifors snuck in just in time, sending an invigorating burst of energy into the second year's lithe body. It cleared her mental haze, a fresh, springtime breeze clearing away the low-hanging clouds that put her into a daze. Callista sent her partner a grateful smile. She knew that there was a decent possibility Willow had simply done that for statistical advantages, but she felt a surge of affection anyway.

She was barely hanging on, she knew that, but still... at least she wasn't alone in her fight.

Once again Hufflepuff seemed on track to lose. They were not vicious opponents in the duelling ring, were know to have not won all year. But that didn't mean Willow was going to give up. There was something more important to Willow, and that was making sure Calli saw the end of this duel. Everyone always targeted her and she didn't want the girl to fall. "Reparifors!" Calli was surrounded with a healing light that just barely left her standing. "I'm not going to let you fall." She heard Flash call out encouragement but it largely fell on deaf ears, the buzzing of impending failure filling her mind instead.

Sensing her teammate's dire state, Willow elected to heal her companion further, while Callista tried to evade incoming attacks. Though the revitalizing Reparifors washed over her, it would not be enough to keep her in the duel. The last of Incendio's lingering flames gave her a final scorch before spluttering out. A Blindfold hex from Adeline- intended for Willow- went wide and hurtled towards Callista. The Badger wove out of its path. However, she couldn't outright evade Alan's final Flipendo, which struck her hard. When the witch collapsed to the stage, Pericles barked a hasty "Stop! Pause the duel." He paced quickly to the edge of the piste while hoisting Tiger, Alan's kitten, higher onto his shoulder. A quick once-over and the assistant medics were waved in. Once they carted Callista off towards the infirmary and Pericles stood a safe distance from the stage, he slowly looked among the remaining duellists, allowing a moment for them to brace for continuation. Willow was a considerably durable witch, yet she stood alone now against a fifth-year with a more-or-less unscathed ally. If she intended to take this back, they wouldn't make it easy for her. "Resume."

There was no remorse as Addie watched her opponent go down, Alan's attack and the remnants of flames seemingly too much for her to handle. As Pericles called for everyone to pause, Adeline spun her wand in her fingers, itching to continue the match. This power felt good, and felt different from the rush she got by pranking others.

For the first time, instead of just clever and agile, she felt bold and strong. As Calli was removed from the piste and presumably headed for the hospital wing, the duel started up again, only now, there was only one opponent to focus on.

Action: Owled

If it wouldn't fill Willow with a deep shame, she would forfeit and follow Calli to the hospital wing. Every time that she duelled beside Willow she would end up in the Hospital Wing, and Willow could never win for her. This was the last duel of the year, and the young badger could feel her confidence in her skills wavering once more. Nothing she did was ever good enough to keep her up, or secure a win for the badgers.

She tried to steady her gaze as Pericles called for the duel to restart, but her heart wasn't in this duel anymore.
