Hiro was faintly surprised by Akira's reaction.

He'd half-expected the boy to reject his teasing remark about him. Something along the lines of, 'No, not like me.'

But he hadn't. Akira had accepted his words and although he hadn't responded to them, he hadn't rejected them either. Which was interesting to note. SNACBASH was something he'd come up with a long time ago. A way to bring everyone closer with Hiro as the glue that tied them all together. Chikao and Akira had history together, the two had once had a great friendship which had broken apart. A friendship Hiro was determined to coax back to life at some point in time. And then there was Aryaan, who was a friend of both him and Chikao but didn't get along with Akira.

And vice versa. But they were a close knit group who had been together for what seemed like forever. It was what had made Hiro want to ensure they always shared a special connection with eachother. And thus, SNACBASH had been born. Hiro smiled at Akira when the latter agreed to become friends with him. SUCCESS! The boy leaned over to hug Akira, wrapping his arms around him and hoped Akira wouldn't try to shove him away from him. He released him when Akira began to talk about his family and the family business but remained close to his side from now on.

Akira wouldn't mind, right?

After all, they were now closer than before. Therefore, Hiro should be able to be physically closer to him too.

"Will your father let you do what you want to do if it's not inheriting the family business? Or will you run into some trouble there if you find a passion you want to pursue?" Hiro asked.

It was a logical concern to have, especially when it came to pureblood families. And Hiro was somewhat concerned for him. But whatever it was that Akira decided upon, he'd support him as much as he could, if it was something he could do for him. "Whatever you eventually decide on, I'll be here for you. You can always use me if you need someone. Don't keep your thoughts all bottled up inside if something's bothering you. You can always rely on me and know you'll never be judged by me. And you know I'm pretty persistent."

"Persistent in getting what I want. So make it easier for me by just letting me in, so I don't have to do it myself!" Hiro half-teased him and let his eyes flicker over the boy for a moment. A thought had been brewing inside his mind for the past few minutes. But he wasn't sure whether he should come out and say it to Akira. What if he took it the wrong way and things became awkward between them? But then again, what if he agreed? Hiro didn't usually feel this way, he tended to say things and then regret them later. This time he was actually thinking a little.

Of the possible consequences of saying what he wanted to say to Akira.

Whatever. He'd go ahead and do it. Even if Akira rejected him, he'd pretend as if it wasn't anything serious.

Hiro swallowed and then looked straight ahead of him, being acutely aware of Akira sitting very close to his side. "...so, the Blossom Ball is coming up soon. Do you want to go with me?" He asked, his heart pounding inside his chest as if there was a bomb inside. It was strange that he'd feel this way, he'd never felt like this before. Why was he so nervous when asking Akira to be his date to the ball? Like the boy had said before, they barely knew eachother. Well, they'd known eachother for quite some time now. What had it been, a few years now by this point?

But they'd only just decided to become friends as of a few minutes ago.

Maybe the reason for his nervousness was that it was the first time Hiro truly wanted something to go his way.

Akira considered Bakugo-san's question for a while. What would happen if he found a passion he wished to pursue -- one that wasn't taking over the family business? It didn't take much thought. The answer was quite clear. "My father would be very disappointed. He would probably take it as an offense that his oldest son, who he had bred to be his successor, would place more priority on something other than our legacy. It would simply be seen as selfish." It was as plain as that: To reject something that was given to him by his forefathers would be disrespecting everything that his family had worked so hard to build. How would the world see it? Such an act would undoubtedly be a loss of face for their family, and a loss of faith for their business partners. Surely, their partners wouldn't trust them to take the family business seriously if even their eldest son didn't want it. It was a complicated matter.

"Whatever you eventually decide on, I'll be here for you. You can always use me if you need someone." Akira's eyes flitted to land on Bakugo-san for a moment. His words were so heartfelt, kind, and genuine that Akira was faintly surprised to hear them come from his lips. He was not used to anyone speaking to him in this way -- in providing so much reassurance. At home, he had always been the older brother taking care of his younger siblings; in class, he had always been the cold and serious student who his classmates hesitated to approach, not to mention console or expect him to confide in. "Thank you, Bakugo-san," he said slowly, a bit at a loss for words.

He grinned slightly as the pink-haired boy teased him. "Do I really seem so difficult to crack?" he asked in amusement. Perhaps he did. It wouldn't surprise him at all if Bakugo-san and every other classmate felt that way about him: the navy-robed model student who might pass you expressionlessly in the hallway. Perhaps he might give you a polite nod if you wore purple or navy robes.

He was still thinking about Bakugo's comment when the boy tossed a question at him. "To the Blossom Ball? Sure, I don't see the harm in that," he responded, figuring that the Mahoutokoro crowd might as well go together, completely unaware that Bakugo-san had meant to ask him to go as his date. It simply didn't even cross his mind that his new friend would hope to go to ball together as a couple of some sort.

Somehow, it was relaxing and cozy sitting up here on this hill with Bakugo-san, but it was about time to go back to the castle. "Let's discuss logistics for the ball at breakfast? Why don't we head to the Great Hall?" he suggested, and stood to dust off his navy uniform.
