"Oh. Thank you." Calliope smiled slightly, and accepting the offered candy. In particular she went straight for the wrapped up pumpkin pasty. Taking a note on which story she stopped (the Tale of Three Brothers), she leaned back in her seat and placed the open book upon her lap before gently peeling the wrapper. She took this time to study the two. They can't be any more different. The boy was neat, proper, and doesn't say more than required. As for the other girl, she was... weird. Her clothes were a mishmash of styles and materials but Calliope was silently thankful that her behavior didn't really reflect her clothing style.

"My name's Calliope. Calliope Tan. Its nice to meet you two, Chess, Andrew." Calliope introduced herself before nibbling on the pumpkin pasty and going back to her book. As she listened to the two talk, it became clear that her earlier assessment of the two was accurate. Andrew kept his sentences short while Chess was nervous but friendly.

As Calliope was just starting to notice Andrew staring at her book, another person approached their compartment. Another boy. Well dressed. Friendly. And confident based on how easily he asked if he could join them. But to Calliope's surprise, it was Chess who invited him in. With candy to boot. Her earlier assessment of Chess took an interesting turn. She's a hidden social butterfly.

"Well well, Chess. You're oddly sociable all of a sudden." Calliope commented with a small smile before turning to look at Garreus.

"I'm Calliope Tan. Nice to meet you, Garreus." Calliope raised a hand in greeting. "As for my letter, it came via owl like most of my Aunt's mail. She's a Witch but my Uncle's a muggle. He's used to them but he does get slightly annoyed when any of the mail owls refuse a snack offering from him."

Tomes are my favourite kind of book. They have so much information in them and they're heavy enough to bludgeon people with.

Andrew nods towards Garreus with a slight incline as he was welcomed into the compartment by Chess, now seeing the girl's hidden enthusiasm making it more suitable to her colorful fashion; not that he had anything against it, if anything it shows how she expresses herself through her appearance. Looking at Garreus, Andrew could only think of one adjective that would suite him; 'Disciplined'. How he acts, speaks and presents himself shows that he probably came from a strict household, at least Andrew can assume that but you can never be too sure, seems that this compartment is full of interesting and diverse individuals.

After Garreus introduced himself Andrew then straightened his back a bit against his seat before continuing, facing towards them "Andrew Jones. Yeah I guess Hogwarts is admitting a large crowd of students this year, I'm also a First year just like you all." He paused a bit to take a bite of his biscuit, swallowing his food as he then proceeds to shift onto his seat a bit to face the three in the compartment, his back somewhat facing the corner of his seat. "The owl was given to my foster guardian who passed it onto me, all I remember him mentioning is that the owl gave him a fright, makes me all the more curious what was that loud thud about." He shrugs somewhat apathetically. "It's good to meet all of you."

The girl clasped her hands together, before rubbing the back of her head with a sheepish grin. "Ah well! I just needed to ease my tension, going away from home kinda scary...you dont know how you'll be able to handle yourself" The girl admitted, as she then nodded and then looked at Garreus.

"I'm a first year too! But I'm still quite skittish with other people, I'm more used to my family that is" The girl explained softly, but there was a faint glimmer in her eyes, practically proud before returning back to her more timid demeanor, resting her bottom face within the soft layer of the scarf fabric and be more mellow. "It's also why I didn't really want to stay with my brother in the more front compartments, it was too loud"
The girl suddenly stopped, puzzled as that small lingering ich suddenly disappeared while an epiphany soon flowed over.
"oh, which reminded me when I should have told him that" she made a small 'oh' sound, her facial turning into a small look of realization, accidentally ghosting her own brother there.

'Im sorry brother, I promise we'll see eachother at some point'

Chess had internally apologized for the unforeseen commotion she had caused by having a lack of pressence in the cart. The girl was practically looking around before taking a small peek out to the compartment to see any hint of her brother. "I suppose we can meet up in the boats anyways" She whispered quietly to herself before looking back to the trio again.

"I suppose you all are excited in being in the school? What do you guys want to do when we reach there?"

Youssuf opened another compartment door, then another and another. He just couldn't find Chess! He looked in the last door window of the second-last carriage, and found the girl sitting with a group of friends. He recognized one of them immediately - or rather, he recognised what family he was from. He had the Jones look - unruly hair flying everywhere and a constant smirk. He knew him slightly - he was a distant cousin. All purebloods were related.
He didn't recognise the other two - a small delicate-looking girl with The Tales of Beedle The Bard in her hand and a boy wrapped in a steely muffler with glasses. Youssuf slid the door open, and looked around - the compartment was unusually warm. He seemed to have interrupted a conversation.
He grinned with relief and said, "Jesus Christ, Chess, what are you doing at the bloody end of the train? It took me 15 full minutes to find you. Here, this is Great Wizarding Events of The Twentieth Century. Your bro wanted me to give it to you, and he's not one to be refused, oh no." Directing his gaze towards the Jones boy, he said, "Nice to see you again, Andrew. You won't know me, but I know your cousin, Arbor Jones.."
He flopped down on an empty seat, tired out of his customary wit. He said- "How very rude of me. I haven't introduced myself. Youssuf Baid, pureblood, although I couldn't care less. If you're a pureblood, I'm no doubt your second cousin by marriage or something, I dunno. Nice to meet you all. What are your names? Got any idea what house you want to be sorted into? I'm gonna be a Gryffindor; my whole family has been."

After hearing Chess mention her brother who was seated towards the front of the train, Garreus turns his head towards her with an eyebrow raised. "Oh? You have a brother up in front?" he says. "I just came from there, not sure if I saw him but I can definitely confirm how rowdy it was there, couldn't hear myself think."

Letting out a sigh of relief, Garreus feels better that he's finally able to communicate with people. He figured that if there's any time to make friends on the first day of school, it's best during the train ride. After getting their names, Garreus straightens his back and turns to face Andrew and Calliope.

"Nice to meet you both." he says, slowly lowering his head into a nod. "Seems we're all in the same year, I guess it's also likely we'll be classmates if ever."

Garreus then leans back, pushes up his glasses and looks out the window, contemplating on what its like to be away from his family. Though he was more or less groomed to be prepared for his first year, he does wonder if he'll be able to mix and fit well with the other students.

"Yeah, a little bit nervous though" he says, turning to Chess. "Not really sure what's there to do, probably explore the grounds. What about you fellas?"

"Oh well, there is the classes and all! You can even join in quidditch so-" Chess has explained and motioned to Garreus, talking to him until that moment of solace dissipate when the girl returned to her timid and sheepish persona, tense when the sliding compartment door practically took out her Extrovert nature when she saw the dark-haired boy walk in, nervously smiling before speaking up again, this was just something she would do whenever a new stranger appeared but this was someone who she knew, a family friend. "Hello Youssuf"

Her small hands reached out to get the book, her fingers lightly tracing the spine of it to feel the small intricate bumps and lines before dragging it across the title. She might have forgotten it in her seat of the compartment when she left, but a sigh of relief huffed out of her cheeks, glad that her brother could handle himself.

But she looked onto Garreus and nodded. "Mhm, my brother is already had his first and second years here, he's a third-year now in Slytherin, and is notably someone who could be very friendly though! This is why he's probably popular with some of the Gryffindors in that compartment" Chess then tucked the back of her hair and look out towards Youssuf. "Which is why I left and went here instead, it's kinda nerve-wracking to be somewhere so loud, sorry if it did take you that long to give me this"

Chess was quietly listening to youssuf, wondering what house she would been in, seeming how she read of it in her letters when Elaine and Isolde's experience on it, she sheepishly admitted, whether they liked it or not, the truth for herself.

"If I'm being honest, as long as I have a reason to stay, because I am Vatellis's daughter first, we're fine if we're anywhere as long as we get to continue and do something for the better, we value in Progress, and in progress are the values of each houses, hard work, innovation, ambition and courage...so it doesn't matter as long as we can help then it's good for me!" The girl smiled, hope and a soft hint of resolve radiating from her eyes, a small smile that made her heart swell, the words of her family were her inspiration of everything. Even now, were out of genuine hope.

Therese was stomping her feet as she made her way through King’s Cross alongside her older brothers...as she was rather frustrated with them, which was made clear with the words she was spewing toward them. “I can’t believe you two got up so late! What exactly were you even doing last night?”

The younger of her two brothers was quick to retort, “Relax, kid. The train won’t leave until 11am. You still have nearly half an hour.” He paused for a second before continuing to speak, “And besides that, we’re already here.”

At those words, Therese did her best to calm herself down before taking a closer look at her surroundings. He was right. They were already by the supporting stone column between platforms 9 and 10...one step closer to Hogwarts. She blushed at the realization and nervously said to them, “Well, I’ll be off, then,” before running straight through – and soon arriving at Platform 9 ¾.

Boarding the train, however, led her to yet another dilemma. She didn’t necessarily have a lot of friends – at least not all that many who were her own age...which meant that she had nobody to sit with. Still, Therese did her best to remain calm as she looked into each compartment. That was when she stumbled upon a compartment with about five people who looked around her age.

Though she was nervous that she might be turned away, she decided to take a chance anyway and open the door to simply ask, “Do you mind if I join you? All the other compartments that still have space seem to be taken up by older students, and I’d rather be with people my own age.”

I know I was invited in by Andrew a while back but just now had time to actually finish this post.

Andrew was attentive towards the conversation although he'd seem to let himself obscure in the background. Just as he analyzed the girl was feeling uncomfortable about the tension, although Andrew personally didn't exactly feel a tension from it, although being away from the people who took care of you is quite an experience. A sibling eh? well at the very least she wouldn't have to feel alone in her departure to Hogwarts, at least not entirely.

Seeing a ruffled boisterous boy barge into the cart rather rudely Andrew raises an eyebrow as he scrutinizes him; apparently he knew Chess and her brother handing her what seems to be a book titled 'The Great Wizarding Events of The Twentieth Century'. Sounds like a tourism pamphlet of the wizarding world if I ever heard of one. As the boy somehow looked towards Andrew and somehow guessed his name and family lineage, yeah, the very same lineage who dumped with a family of muggles, not that he had anything against the Harringtons, in fact he'd find them preferable than the cloud of mysteries and question that his father fogged him up with. Andrew's expression visibly shifted into a cold glare towards the boy as he took a seat uninvited and introduced himself.

"Youssuf huh... Whatever business you have with the Jones, leave me out of it, and don't bother pestering me about it any further as far as I'm concerned I've never seen you in my entire life, best you keep this occasion as our first meeting, I don't know what past you had with my family, frankly, I don't care and I'd rather you leave me out of it."

Andrew spoke in a cold and direct tone, he clearly was displeased by the sudden uninvited greeting and creepily accurate assumption making him all the more wary towards this person. Whoever he is, he doesn't want any of his actions to obstruct any of his plans yet andrew has this eerie feeling that the way he acts is already a red flag that this guy will just continue to pester him endlessly through his life. 'I'll just have to plan and react accordingly' he thought to himself.

"That's a pretty good quote there Chess. Personally this whole house things just seems like a system for the school to encourage camaraderie through competition, nothing wrong about it, It's basically a system to increase motivation for the students to study or work hard in a sense, people get more motivated when there's more at stake."

His tone seems to have soften as he continues the conversation and react accordingly to Chess' answer as if he never raised the tension to begin with. He then noticed a girl with clear blue eyes walk into the compartment asking for a seat, at least this one asks cordially before entering unlike that guy, so he turns towards the girl and nods at her and attempts to welcome her in.

"You're free to join in and have a seat, My name's Andrew; That's Calliope, Garreus, and lastly this one over here is Chess"

He stated purposefully ignoring Youssuf's presence, leaving him out of the introduction showing a clear animosity towards him coming from Andrew, that rude initiation from Youssuf sure left a bad impression on Andrew that he's probably not going to let go today.

Garreus ponders at the thought of Quidditch, tapping his chin with his finger. "Quidditch eh?" he says. "I've always taken an interest to flyin-" It was when he was interrupted by the compartment door sliding open, revealing a boy who looked rather exhausted. "And here we go.." he mumbled to himself.

He adjusts his glasses and turns his attention to the boy who just sat himself down with an eyebrow raised. "Well don't bother knocking." he says, clearing his throat, turning back to Chess. "I suppose that explains why the front was rather rowdy, can't say I blame them. May or may not be us in a couple of years from now."

Garreus' attention was once again diverted when a girl slides open the compartment door asking if she could join them. After Andrew lets her in, Garreus picks up his jacket that was left on the seat next to him, freeing it. He did notice that Youssuf's introduction was left out by Andrew, perhaps done so on purpose based on his tone towards Youssuf.

"Guess I'm not the only one who wasn't annoyed by that." he thought.

Turning to the girl who just entered, he gestures her to take a seat. "By all means, as Andrew said, I'm Garreus Steele. Yourself?"

Youssuf chuckled wearily and raised his hands, "He bhagvan Meaning-my god! in Hindi! I do apologise for barging in uninvited! I never knew other firsties were so touchy! Mister, I didn't know, and I'm sorry, I won't refer to your family again. Let's start over, shall we?"
He held out his hand to the boy and said - "Youssuf Baid, Gryffindor. What's your name? In fact, can I know everyone's names?"
He nodded to the girl with blue eyes who had just entered the compartment too.
"I can for sure say that we were, in fact, getting extremely rowdy up front. Did you know, someone set off a Dungbomb in the second carriage and accidentally struck a Chocolate Frog? It sort of mated and formed a grey-green froggish blob which really stank. You'll be proud to know that we even got your bro to get that stupid jacket of his off his back."
Youssuf grinned and said to the compartment at large - "You know, y'all are very nervous, even for a group of firsties. Look at me! C'mon! This is the time of your life! Seven years later you'll be stuck in a job, now is the time to have fun!"
"Also, don't worry, Chess, I can bet you anything that you'll be awesome no matter what house you're in."
He went out of the compartment and found the trolley woman in the last carriage. Youssuf paid her a few Sickles and went back to the compartment. He put the five or six bottles of Exploda Soda he'd purchased on the table and said happily, "Help yourself, guys. I see you have sweets, so I brought drinks. In my experience, the two go well together."
"I gotta go, Chess, my friends will be waiting on me. I'll find you all at school, all right? Bye, everyone! Loosen up, Garreus and Jones!"

My part in this RP is finished, although I will follow it with great interest! I hope to meet you all again! Byee! ;) :)
