Hufflepuff vs Slytherin: Match 5
Elisabeth could not care more. She was tired, she always lost a duelling match, and she was perpetually put in a position against a more senior student. Whatever. The only reason she had not given up was because her teammate Maria, as well as the whole Hufflepuff house that she loved, would be terribly disappointed. That was the last thing she wanted to happen.

Hufflepuff vs Slytherin: Match 5
Spurred into quick action by the match’s start, Astrea dallied none and called upon her magic into two bursts of strong wind, spell spreading the singular action to affect both members of the Hufflepuff team. As was agreed upon prior, a dearly familiar streak of red shot out from Piper’s wand toward the younger badger of the opposing team, striking true though Piper seemed unsure of her own accuracy, the other scarcely able to grasp satisfaction before dodging a streak of brilliant green fire.
Yes, their first touch of battle this dueling year was having great luck, but Astrea was not so naive to delude herself into premature confidence. She could only hope their plans held up in the face of unpredictability.
Action: Doing as strategised.

Although the billowing Ventus subsided, the Slytherin barrage hadn't let up. Piper was quick to cast Rictusempra at Elisabeth, who would find herself suffering from a violent onset of tickles. Maria readily retaliated, striking Piper back with a Tongue-Tying Spell, inducing the uncomfortable experience of one's tongue twisting like a pretzel. However, Astrea was at the ready, and managed to narrowly strike Maria with a particularly potent Expelliarmus. Her wand soared from her grasp and clattered across the piste. Chaos reined over both ends of the stage, with a duellist from each team incapacitated. Elisabeth elected to create cover, perhaps within which they could regroup, sending a thick cloud of Fumos smoke spreading over the duel. The moderator leaned in on the sidelines, straining to hear which incantations were uttered next, and by who.

Hufflepuff vs Slytherin: Match 5
Things were going terrible. At the end, Elisabeth casted Fumos on the last round in hopes it would confuse the Slytherins, making them difficult to attack Maria and her. The second year's mistake was that she had forgot to consider that the spell, if cast successfully, would also be at the Hufflepuffs' expense. And it did.

Hufflepuff vs Slytherin: Match 5
Adamant on backing their Hufflepuff opponents into a corner, Astrea made the move to disarm their most pressing threat. The spell shot off with the same lucky accuracy as a tickling charm sent by her partner, the two working together to cull the looming idea of lost time.
With one duelist on each team unable to cast, her own by virtue of an unfortunate tongue knot and the other with a lost wand, things were going surprisingly swiftly compared to her other matches. And yet, before Astrea was able to dwell on this passing matter more, a plume of smoke billowed from the younger badger's wand, spreading thick and dark about the entirety of the piste.
Either Erner had forgotten the area of effect or the casted cover was a clever trick in strategy, imitating the unwieldy conditions of many large events. Were they truly so desperate as to hinder their own vision in an attempt to disadvantage the Slytherin team?

Hufflepuff vs Slytherin: Match 5
Interacting: n/aUtter chaos erupted across the platform. Although Piper felt her spell hit true once again on Erner, causing her to giggle unnaturally, Dee struck too quickly for Piper to leap away. Astrea of course masterfully disarmed Dee, giving Piper a sort of feeling of recompense. The very uncomfortable sensation of Piper's tongue tying itself in a knot overtook her, and she struggled to say anything. All she could do was give a very dirty glare at the third year and remain ready on her feet. Without warning, Erner foolishly cast smoke all around the board. Besides stinging Piper's eyes and obscuring the entire platform, she had effectively made it hard for anyone to cast, including her own teammate. Not that she could. It didn't matter anyway; Erner couldn't hide behind distorted air for long.Doing as strategized

The smokescreen churned on the piste. Though it showed signs of fading, it was still difficult to see through, and the moderator did what he could to keep track of feet moving beneath the cloud. Alarmingly, the Hufflepuff competitors appeared to have stalled, standing still beneath their cover until Astrea cast a Flipendo their way. Maria managed to avoid a direct hit, but only narrowly, and was still struck partially by the blow. While Piper was prepared to dodge, light on her feet, no spells were sent towards the Slytherin side. Mimblewimble's effects faded, freeing her tongue from its nasty knot. Cupping his mouth, Pericles called an attempt at encouragement from the sidelines: "Steady on, duellists!"

Hufflepuff vs Slytherin: Match 5
Mentioning/Interacting: n/aPiper stood ready on her feet, but the Hufflepuffs did not attack. Erner was too wary to strike, she supposed, and Dee was still disarmed. This left not much room for the Slytherins to be attacked. Astrea sent an admirable spell at the older badger and successfully grazed her. Finally, Piper's tongue unraveled itself and she moved it around her teeth in relief. Once again, the second-year braced herself. Her side was more than holding its own and with more skill and a little luck it would stay that way.Doing as strategized

Hufflepuff vs Slytherin: Match 5
About them, the thick fog covering their view seemed to be slowly letting up, growing whisper around their general direction though Astrea doubted much could be seen if she looked elsewhere. An encouragement sounded from the hidden moderator area, reminding that things were not close to over, though the other team seemed to act like it.
Much to Astrea's surprise, nary a spell nor incantation arose from their opponents this round, though she was sure her own cast had just barely hit Dee. Though Clark lay in wait for a possible targeting, none came. Then again, there was not much one could do with one disarmed player and the other affected by spellwork already. Regardless, this lull in retaliation was making Astrea more suspicious with every passing second.
