Interacting with @Bailey Glade and @Evelynn Decipio Hex: #000BBFAshley's relief due to the sword being fake was short-lived. It still wasn't entirely clear if she and Bailey (who looked a little nervous herself) were in trouble. Miss Decipio was smiling, sure, but it was a reserved smile and it didn't look as if she were going to let them off the hook, especially since she asked to see the sword. It was really sweet of Bailey to try to take all the blame, but Ashley had been a part of it too, and she didn't want Bailey to be the only one punished. Ashley sighed quietly. The cool air began to feel stifling. Ashley inched away from Bailey and Miss Decipio, still trying to remain calm. From what she could tell, they wouldn't be expelled. That was good. But there could still be consequences, which was . . . . not good. Very bad, in fact.Ashley glanced at Bailey out of the corner of her eye. She seemed more collected than she had a few moments earlier. Ashley tried to loosen up, too. She wished, not for the first time in the last several minutes, that she was curled up on a chair in front of the Common Room fire, reading. Instead of standing in the awkwardly silent ballroom while a prefect examined a sword that could get them into a whole lot of trouble. But there was nothing to do but wait. Ashley crossed her fingers and wished for the best.

INTERACTING WITH @Bailey Glade and @Ashley Coulson
Again, Evelynn just couldn't help acknowledge the sense of superiority that swelled within her. Before her, the two first years just appeared so taken aback. It was as though she had smacked them over their noses with a rolled up newspaper, their tails tucked tightly between their legs. It was all she could do not to crack a smirk at the visual. There was something powerful about holding the fate of another in the palm of her hand. In the absence of professors, other prefects, or senior students who might challenge her, she could probably declare whatever she wanted. When Glade presented her with the sword, handle-first, Evelynn took her time to reach for it.
With a deliberate motion, her hand moved forward. It was almost as though she moved through a film of molasses in the way it inched forward with how she took her time doing so. A clearly unimpressed expression that mirrored exactly how she would feel about sticking her hand through an actual sheet of the sticky substance accompanied the action. Fingers curled around the hilt, withdrawing the tool towards her person with a thoughtful, "Hrm."
She could tell even before she'd taken hold of the "weapon" that what Glade had said held true. The relatively light weight of the sword only served to solidify the notion that more damage could be done with a beater's bat than with this plastic stick. Not that it wasn't durable. There was an obviously quality to its craftsmanship that would allow it to withstand the sudden strikes and jabs that practicing the various positions and movements would demand, but her worry was misplaced. That said, she wasn't about to let them off the hook without at least a little bit of worry. After all, having seen some of the things that students thought acceptable to be bringing on to school grounds, she was of the firm opinion that careful consideration should be given on what is and is not appropriate for school. If her careful and scrutinizing inspection made their hearts skip a few beats and made them take a little extra time to think through the packing of future items or to question the belongings of others, then Evelynn would consider this time well spent.
After what no doubt felt like an eternity, Evelynn inclined her chin and held the sword back out to Glade handle first (similarly to how she had received it, but not with the same level of submission). "Very well," she conceded with an air of disinterest. "I don't see any reason why I should confiscate this from you. Provided," she added with an air of authority, "that it is not used for any contact sparring without approval and supervision of a prefect or professor."
When the sword was retrieved, she would take a step back. "I'll leave you to it." A dismissive wave of a hand suggested the two could carry on with their previous activities. "A pleasure to make your acquaintances. Glade. Coulson." She nodded her chin to each of them in turn, the repetition of their names paired with another sweep of owl-like grey eyes across their faces. Although she had yet to meet many of the first years, these two would now be ingrained within her memory. Two more to add to the profiles. "Do be sure you're back in your dorms before curfew."

ReducioSorry for taking so long to reply to your thread! Congratulations, you have sufficiently demonstrated yourselves not to be infringing upon any school rules (part of the delay was confirming whether there was a rule break or not), so you are now free to continue RPing without any further interference from Evelynn. Unless you actually do break a rule later in the thread.
