Through the Wind
@Cassandra IronwoodsHer chocolate brown eyes sparkled in the cold storming wind. Cash was a genius, and she knew it in the beginning of their friendship. They were cool and amazing, like their name — Lindsey was always a fan of this name. Cash was probably the coolest among her friends, creative and really fun to be around.
“That’s awesome, Cash!” she yelled in the strong wind, hoping the snake would hear. Wind was storming towards her. Managing to balance on her broom, she gripped it tighter, not wanting to fall off again. If you ignore the fact that you might fall down your broom when flying, flying was probably one of the best things to enjoy in life. Well, only if you were not afraid of height. She still remembers the days when her mother helped her braid her hair in a ponytail, and Edmund would storm out of the main house of the Linfield Manor along with her and Perseus. Grandfather Matthew would be ready by then, and handed the three kids children-friendly brooms for them to handle and deal with. When she got younger she was allowed to try better brooms — the faster and higher ones. But still, this was only available when she visited the Linfield Manor — don’t you dare riding a broom in Kensington where was full of muggles that were ignorant of their identities. Linfield Manor was always a dull place, and flying might be the only good thing there.
She stopped some paces further from where the Slytherin was, and turned her broom back to meet them. She grinned, and waved at them. “Wooo Cash, I’m sure you’d do great next game — that’s fantastic!” They would be ones of the brightest stars next game, Lindsey knew it. Cash was a great beater, and maybe they’d even become a famous professional player in the future — who knows?
Letting the wind storming against her face, she smiled, looking at Cash forwarding to meet her. Such a rush, indeed. She didn’t know what’s like on the real Quidditch game pitch, but surely it would be even rusher than now. For now the two friends clearly was just training a bit, not wanting each other get hurt, but on the real pitch nobody would care. If she could get caught by a teammate when she fell…she knew that she’d be very grateful for it. She knew that the ones with lifeguard duty were often chasers, and she wondered who would it be. But seriously, would there even be one? The badger didn’t know. Hopefully she could just send all the bludgers away with her bat and evaded all the blatches.
She blinked when Cash asked what they should do next. Granted, Lindsey wasn’t really a creative person with lots of interesting ideas to carry out in her head. Basically she spent her life so far executing what others commanded, and analyzing the situation to decide what she’d gonna do next. She lived, she loved, she hated, but everything she did was after a good think. She was a determined person, and her mind couldn’t be changed, well, possibly, for there were times that she compromised due to deep love for the person she’s talking with. Being not very creative was a weakness, and she had longed to overcome it — but sadly she hadn’t succeeded yet.
“Well…um, I dunno really…you know, I couldn’t be regarded as a creative person with lots of new ideas…” she smiled apologetically to Cash. “But maybe we could, like, practice defending or some play, like Alley Oop or something like that? Since we couldn’t get access to bludgers today…” Lindsey let her voice faded in the storming wind, and, shivering a bit, she smiled and looked back at Cash, willing to hear their opinions.
