Beauxbatons NPC  iNPC Registry
Name: Angélique Colette de Clairmont. Angel for short.
School: Beauxbatons
Status: Half-blood
Year: Second year
Appearance:

Angélique de Clairmont stands at 4 feet and 7 inches or 144cm making her slightly short for her age. She has long, but thin, honey-brown hair, green hazel eyes, healthily sun-kissed skin, with an athletic build.

Personality: Angélique is a very prim and proper girl leading to some people describing her as uptight. She has a mean competitive streak and could be considered a sore loser especially if it has anything to do with her cousin. Though her closest friends would describe her as adventurous, funny, and starting to become boy crazy.

History:
Angélique, the daughter of Philippe de Clairmont and Chantal Dubois, was raised in a high classed and proper lifestyle. Her father, an Archivist, Restoration specialist, and translator at a local University and her Mother was a Homemaker. She has never wanted for anything, she has never had to work for anything, and she is technically the oldest grandchild to Césarine and Mathurin de Clairmont. However, in a long line of pureblood pride, Philippe married a muggle making Angélique a halfblood and therefore not worthy of being the heir to her grandmother de Clairmont's fortune. She grew up always hearing her father speak about her aunt Isabelle, the one she only ever saw during holidays, and their bitter rivalry. Her father always complained that Isabelle was good at everything and how hard he had to work to achieve. It had also appeared over the years that her cousin Santario had inherited the same insufferable traits as Isabelle. To top that sundae with a cherry, Angélique was looked over as the de Clairmont heir for Santario because her cousin’s blood was still pure. Regardless of her strained relationships with her extended family her home life was wonderful. She loved listening to her father talk about his work and the languages he knew. Her mother was an amazing woman and while being muggle born she didn’t need magic or a caterer to put together one of the best parties you have ever been to. Angélique watched her in awe as the women must have been a goddess to accomplish all that she did for their home.

Angélique being a recklessly adventurous child it was no surprise that her first instance of magic was as she was trying to open a gate that stopped her from getting somewhere she wasn’t supposed to be. She jiggled the bars with her tiny hands and huffed exasperatedly before she heard a click. Hesitantly she pushed the gate and it slowly swung open for her. No hesitation she giggled loudly and ran through it taking off to go find adventure!

Angélique found that while at Beauxbatons, she struggled just like her father. Her studies were average as she preferred to focus on cute boys, books, and broom racing instead. While athletic in nature, when she tried out for the quidditch team, she was told she lacked the natural skill they were looking for. She decided that not being on the quidditch team was for the best as her face was too pretty to be hit by a bludger. Then she tried out for the duelling team, but her peers were far better than she was, and they once again were chosen over her. Maybe if Beauxbatons ever developed a cheer squad, she could excel there. However, that was when it seemed like her saving grace was presented to her. Finally, broom racing had become eligible, and wouldn’t you know it something she could finally excel at. Something she could finally be better at than her cousin.

Besides obsessing over wanting to prove that she should be the proper heir over her cousin, Angélique, enjoys dancing as a hobby. Not only does it seem to bring a peace to her, but it also helps keep her agile and limber for broom racing. She loves spending time with her friends, reading and learning about cultures, and the freedom of flying the faster the better.

The sky is the limit, and you can’t fully take advantage of that if you are too afraid to seize your moment. Angélique knew from the first moment that a broom flew up into her hand that she wanted to take off and fly as high as the stars. She had always been a child of adventure, and even the fencing around her home couldn’t keep her in. No matter what, her parents told her. It didn’t matter that dangerous wild animals were lurking in nature; she wanted to see the world outside of her gilded cage. Always clambering over the fence to explore the countryside, approaching wild fauna, and watch the fish, turtles, and frogs in the local river.

The thrill of a new animal, kicking off the grass on a broom, and going into unexplored areas was what she lived for. Adrenaline always coursed through her veins, and instead of being afraid of it, she embraced it with open arms. The way her heart raced, pounding hard in her chest, was like the beat of her own drum that she marched to. She could even remember the first day that it happened and excited her. She had snuck away from her au pair to hop the gate and pick some wildflowers. While she minded her own business across the clearing, a fully grown male red deer emerged from the trees. It was easily three to four times her size, and when she saw it, her heart jumped so hard into her throat, but instead of feeling fear, she was excited.

The deer did not approach her or put her in any danger other than its rather large existence. All it did was stand there and observe her just as she stood there and watched it. She could recognize that she was being given a gift to see such a beautiful creature.

In flying class, she noticed it again when she mounted her broom and kicked off. Even when some of her other classmates presented themselves too afraid to even call the broom to their hands, she was already flying high into the sky. Pushing the school broom to its limits flying around the designated area as fast as the broom let her. Something that landed her a harsh scolding from the professor and the promise of detention if she should ever pull a stunt like that again in her class.

One of Angélique’s hobbies was dance, and while she didn’t take it as seriously as others, she did find that it kept her exceedingly limber. Dancing gave you a distinct understanding and control over your own body, allowing you to trust it in the movements you wanted to make. Dancing wasn’t something you always thought about after you truly learned a dance. From there, it was all muscle memory, and you need to trust that your body knew exactly what it needed to do it and how it needed to move to make it happen. When you didn’t was when you started to overthink, and that is when you would find yourself screwing up a move or your timing. In dance, timing is everything coordinating your body around others, ensuring that you are aware of your own movements and those around you. If another dancer on the floor goes to the wrong spot or, god forbid, falls, you need to be able to avoid that so that you, yourself, do not get harmed. This is one of the things that Angélique learned that she excelled at. Her body didn’t need instruction from her; it just moved and avoided those who made mistakes around her. Even when she herself made a mistake, she always seemed to manage to do it in such a way that she never hit anyone else in the process.

The same came to her when she was on a broom practicing for broom racing. Flying through the trees, quidditch goal posts, and other obstacles that they would have created for training. She found herself avoiding other players more than most of the others, seeming to fly gracefully around obstacles and dodging the ones that she wasn’t expecting. While she still got waylaid by something here or there, it was still very notable that her body seemed to react sometimes before she had processed a danger around her and avoided it.

As a child in favor of adventuring, she thought it had to deal with the fact that she knew her land, or thought she did, and could always just avoid holes in the ground that threatened to roll the ankles of people unlucky enough to step in them. Or even evade that spot that was just slippery enough to make you slip into the river. She was just a lucky young lady with a body that seemed to know how to react and sometimes before she even or ever knew she needed to.

Additional IC Information for your NPC:
Gossip amongst the Beauxbatons student body wasn't uncommon. During one of your meals you overheard two older boys talking about a certain group of squib sympathizers. You silently were able to gather the points they made regarding this group's movement and the rights they seemed to fight for. One of the boys made note on how it was unfair the way these squibs were treated by wizarding society. The second replied in acknowledgement but pointed out the supposed riots that have been breaking out across Europe. The question rose up on whether justice or revenge was at play here.

André, unbeknownst to him, is almost a spitting
image of his [Biological]father. With the same
brown hair, green eyes, and nose, there's no way
not to tell he's the man's son. Of course even with
that he looks a lot like his [Biological]mother as well,
with the same lips, and with how naturally slim
and tall he is. You could almost say he's a
perfect mix of the two.
Personality

André has layers, and if he's being honest, not even he knows his true personality. He's spent way too much time trying to fit into the mold of how people want him to be and how they want him to act that he's lost himself, he doesn't know who he is, and if he wants to start being honest with himself, that's kinda scary.

The best way to describe him without all the layers he has and the fake personalities he's put up is, a quiet person, André likes to think things through he can't do things on a whim and every action he makes is carefully thought out only leaving out one simple thing to the big equation every time, he forgets that other people have feelings too; he shoves his emotions away till there's a proper time to deal with them[Or more likely avoids them till they all come bursting out at some point] so at points he forgets he even has them as well. André likes plans that are detail oriented and thought out, he likes routine and strives best both academically when he has it.

History

André is Born

André, the name really stood out to Colette Alarie. And so it was chosen for her first and only son. After nine long months of pregnancy, her son was born[DOB: August 6th 2008]. She adored him, the way he smiled, it lit up a room, the way his little fingers curled around hers, the peaceful face he had when he was sleeping. It was wondrous, the joy of new little life in yours, it gaze Colette a purpose she wanted to be not only better for herself, but for her son. She knew the little guy needed her.

Mon loulou [My little one] She'd call him, mon trésor [My treasure] she'd say. He was the person that filled her heart with everlasting love every day.

The father to this little boy who gave his mother's life something more was none other than Abelino Bonheur. Not much was known about the strange man, and all those who knew him thought of him as odd. Nobody had much idea really what his relation to Colette was, just that he wasn't the fatherly type considering he left only three days after the child's birth, and his last name was nowhere to be found on the certificate of birth. Leaving the mother in disarray with only a picture of him holding the small child the day he was born.

Only two years later came the loss of Colette Alarie. The night before the second birthday of André. He was much two young to understand the impacts of this loss, and would only years later take in the full impact of it.

The Descamps

By the age of three, it seemed that luck had found him. After spending a whole year in need of a family one came his way the Descamps, lovely folks they were, it's saddening they weren't able to have children of their own, till André came along, he was perfect to them, the exact child they were looking for and he was in need of a home. André was shy back then, shy, sweet, and innocent. Well, apparently it sells. The second Mrs. Descamps saw André, she knew the boy was meant to be part of their family, and so he was.

And just as fate had it, this was when the Descamps were about to give up hope for ever having a child. It was also awfully convenient he looked a lot like the two, so they didn't have people questioning them about it all the time. Upon adopting André, the couple had to make the choice of what to leave for the boy's legal name. They wanted him to feel apart of the family, but didn't want to tear him from his past, so they made the choice to leave his legal last name as Alarie, leaving him as André Alarie, as the couple adjusted to having the child in daily life they realized his name was actually quite fitting for him..

A Case Of Oddity [ Accidental Magic ]

The boy was brave, by six the boy had managed to both amaze and scare his parents, getting multiple calls by the school about him climbing up the tallest tree at recess and them not being able to get him down, or rather just didn't want to take the time too. He'd walk along the thick branches of it, distracted by nature's beauty, so much so that once the small child fell from the tree. Nobody seemed to know what to do, no sudden movements were made, and it seemed as if it were the end for this child, but as if it was magic the child bounced on the ground creating a safe landing as it took all the impact, as if he had springs on his feet.

Nobody knew what happened that day, but they all decided they better not question it, and so it became a case of just 'pure luck' that they hadn't lost the child to him falling off a tree.

Teary-eyed

At the age of eight, it seems the boy's luck had all but run out.
There was an 'unfortunate accident' phrased the blonde lady who'd come to pick him up from school that night. The boy was curious but kept quiet as he was led to the car. From there he was told his parents had 'gone to a better place' but just the same he was all just as much confused. It only hit the child when he was brought to his home to grab a few things, and his parents weren't there.

Within the next week he was placed in a foster home till they tried to work out what to do with him. The first few weeks there the boy cried enough tears to fill a bathtub, it was different from when he was two and had little to no memory of his mother, [Truth be told be still didn't understand the reality that he'd been adopted in the first place] but now all he knew was that he'd lost his mom and dad, the people he'd grown up with, the ones who comforted him, made him feel safe, made him feel like the luckiest kid in the world for even having them as parents. Even when he got made at his mom and dad from time to time he still loved them, and it was heartbreaking for him.

Pain is gain

The day André turned ten was the day he went to his sixth foster home. They were fed up with the child! He rarely talked, and when he did, it was only sarcasm that came out of the boy's mouth. He kept getting himself into fights and always seemed to be mad. And there was nothing anyone could do about it. For some reason the boy was obviously doing this on purpose as well, it seemed he enjoyed to upset his foster parents, another oddity to add to the list... The only place he really put effort into what he was doing was his schoolwork, the only thing he deemed as important. His plan was that when he turned eighteen, he'd leave this town, figure out things for himself, get a good job, and just get away. Everything was fueled by the pain he was feeling, it all had hit him now and he wanted to make something worthwhile of himself. He wanted to make himself someone he could be proud of, someone any parent would be proud of, someone his [biological]father could be proud of. Maybe then he'd come back. Maybe then he'd want André.

A word to the wise, don't be like André

When André was eleven and a half he had one thing on his mind. Maybe magic could've somehow stopped the death of his parents, maybe it could've made his biological dad want to stay, maybe it could've gotten rid of all the bad luck in his life. And now he was mad, mad at the wizarding community, mad at his foster eighth foster family[Which were wizards too] he was conveniently put into upon his eleventh birthday, and most of all he was mad at the world, how dare it be against him, how dare it turn on him in such a way that left him so alone! How dare it do this to him! Why was it always against him?

And so now here he was controlling the only things he could in his life because he couldn't control much else. He controlled his studies, he'd study as much as he could and when it came time for tests every once in a while in between his perfect grades he'd mess up on purpose, to just make sure he still had control. Same thing with his 'friends', all people who either scared others away from André so he wouldn't have to deal with actual bullies or people who were just gullible and desperate for friends so desperate they'd do anything, but of course there were the real treasures besides these two types of people, his real friends, people he shared interests with, but always seemed to leave him. Why, you ask? André had no such a clue, he thought he was a great friend. This obsession of being controlling didn't stop at that, of course it didn't, André would take the time to count certain things as he walked the hall or be a little late to classes on purpose, and it only would get worse from there. Above all the friendships and studies and being controlling in general André had a main goal, and it stayed the same. He was going to make his biological father proud of him somehow and he was going to come back to André, and when he finally did André felt he'd actually feel at home, after all his father was the only one he could trust in this crazy world.

All this was in his mind, planned in a way so deliberately that no one would notice. After all, he had to keep up that 'rich kid' suave guy look. Because of course he didn't need another reason to be an outcast here.

André was a perfectionist, he refused to settle for less. He wanted things to be perfect; he wanted things to be in order and neatly and nicely. Like when he made his plans, all detail filled and clearly done by someone logical, but then you'd ask for his backup plans. And he'd lay it out simply, . He had none. His plans were perfected for quite some time each so he had faith they'd work, they had to go perfectly, if they didn't it was an insult to everything he'd ever done so far, everything that went flawless, that was perfectly perfected that there was no way things couldn't go his way, it was an insult to his skills. Every spell he were to ever learn, every potion he were to ever brew, everything he ever did was perfected down to a tea, a simple equation of how it worked and why it did, because if he were to ever need to make use of these things in the future he wanted them to be perfect, his skills for it perfected, and everything.

He took pride in his good grades, and bad.[ If it was on purpose and his own doing] He took pride in his perfect handwriting which he'd told everybody that it 'just came naturally', when in reality he'd spent days perfecting it because he couldn't stand how it looked. If he was ever going to anything it was going to be perfect and he was going to get it right, this didn't mean it had to be right away, it just meant that in dear time in had to be perfect. Like his strategy for chess. It took months to perfect, but in the end it was all worth it, especially because of every bet that were made if he won, it benefited him and was worth all his hard work. Him being the perfectionist he was, was useful, but from time to time he wished he didn't need things to be as perfect, that maybe sometime he could let loose, adding to this the boy also set quite high standards for himself, and got upset every time these standards weren't met, he could make everything perfect and flawless but apparently not himself.

He going to have to learn someday that he was just human, and made mistakes like everyone else, but for now he was going to pretend he was perfect, flawless, and unable to ever make a mistake, like everything else he did.

Second Year ~ CharmerWC: 485

André was good looking, there was no way to deny that. From his hair, to his eyes, and his lips, he was a sight for sore eyes. André honestly didn't see it. He didn't think he was that good looking, but he had to admit he had a way with people, a certain charm, almost like a magnet that attracted them to him.

His manners towards the people he wanted to charm were enough to leave those who'd experienced his wrath left to gawk. I mean, who did he think he was? Getting into fights, ignoring certain authorities, and upsetting foster families so much they had no choice but to send him away. But yet finding a way to charm the socks off[Metaphorically speaking] every girl and guy he met. Surprisingly, there were even moments André found a way to charm himself out of trouble with his teachers at muggle school. He had to admit it, his unique talent... was useful. And very beneficial to the boy. Even his case worker after hearing everything he's ever done had to admit the boy was polite and sweet, even if he was a handful.

When André realized he had this effect on people, his efforts started small. Like the one day seven-year-old André wanted a treat before bed. Now usually his parents weren't one to give treats and sweets to the boy, especially before bed, but that night seemed to be the exception as he turned his charm up to the max. He then used it to his advantage to get friends, and even at times get them to do what he wanted. His 'friends' like many other people in this world, were just stepping stones on his way to get to his actual goal. From friends it then went to the teachers, they all loved him, he was definitely a favorite student among the kids at his muggle school. And then to 'love interests' when the boy turned ten he noticed every so often girls would point his way, they'd whisper to their friends and when he'd confront the girl or sometimes even boy, about it, they'd blush. It left André with a sort of tool or power over them.. one he had to decide how to use..

By the end of his first year at Beauxbatons he made his choice. He would use it to his advantage, since he had no feelings towards any of the people he was doing this too. It only made the most sense. Sometimes he'd flirt with people for that factor, not caring at all how they feel, and sometimes he made sure to know how they'd feel, he'd flirt with the person for a bit, wait till he's being asked out, then reject them in the most harshest way possible, to keep control of the things around him.

It was true, he was a terrible person, but a charmer nonetheless.

André might have tried to make things perfect for himself, but the world outside was far from it. Not long after his second year had begun, he and most of the people in his vicinity had turned their attention to a weeping girl in the hallway. When curiosity got the better of him, he heard her and her friend talking about how her mother had got caught in one of those SCAR riots over in northern France. It seemed these people knew no mercy and were not close to stopping. Perhaps the students of Hogwarts would recognise this news. Or perhaps SCAR had barely made their presence known in the UK?

Name: Roberta Abeille Martin

Status: Pureblood

School: Beauxbatons

Year: 2nd Year

Appearance:
Reducio
Often serious, the slender and graceful Roberta rarely lets her hair down from its tight bun. Her posture is exceptional as she is both a lively dancer and amateur fencer trained by her father and mother. Her bright and enthusiastic smile is usually seen right after victory, a more determined look creases her brow and forehead while she concentrates. Often focused and clearly high-spirited, no amount of distraction seems to pull Roberta's confident glower away from her opponents when in the ring.

Personality:
Reducio
Born to win and taught not to accept defeat too early, Roberta is a shining example of someone who is hard on others, and even harder on herself. While she enjoys her athletic hobbies and the vibrancy magic brings to her life, Roberta spends most of her time furthering her still incomplete knowledge of the many charms and jinxes used in such wizard duels. Otherwise, she tries to get her work done as fast as possible so that she can follow her passions.

Outside of the arena, Roberta tends to make a friend out of every new face she meets, as even her most vehement opponents have earned her respect after coming to terms. Those that meet her in person rapidly learn that the overly protective and fearsome athlete desires above all to win honorably. Roberta's closest friends and family know she would go to even greater lengths to earn their respect and admiration, even so far as to push herself a little too hard.

Looking to please not only her family and friends but herself, Roberta is a perfectionist who has yet to master anything. This lack of mastery combined with her silent impatience grates at her on a personal level even though she does not frequently share those opinions. Rarely the type to lash out in anger or revenge, but often the type to stand her ground to the death, Roberta Martin stands head and shoulders above most of her peers, but only because she does her absolute best.

History:
Reducio
Born on the unusually warm afternoon of February 8th 2008 to her father Amaury Martin and her mother Ghislaine Vogel, Roberta was thrust into the lap of luxury. Roberta's parents, both pureblooded wizards boasting heritage of duelists, athletes, and more, have consistently pushed their young champion to achieve her greatest ambitions. Since she was very small she has held a sword, and as a warrior she has rarely accepted defeat. As a child, she's known it plenty.

The night of her 6th birthday, Amaury and Ghislaine gifted Roberta with her first rapier. Both wary that their daughters innate magical abilities might manifest, they pressured her to maintain a regiment of practice far too stressful for a child her age. In a fit of anger after losing a bought to her older brother, Roberta snapped her foil in twain. Doubtful it would work, but amazed nonetheless when it did, the prodigy duelist pressed the two halves of her sword together and after releasing her grip, the parts remained whole. The Martin family threw a tremendous celebration the following week.

On her eleventh year, Roberta was sent to study at Beauxbatons. Quickly finding that she not only enjoyed learning about magic, but loved it, Roberta discovered that the naturally artistic expression of wizard dueling called to her in a way that inspired her ambitions. The young witch quickly fell into the ranks of students who would sign up for the dueling within the academy. Good sportsmanship and elegant displays of magic became her forte. After practicing hard, Roberta stood out from the other students after confronting her then nemesis and deflating his ego with a well timed flippendo sent him crashing into the fountains of the school's lavish gardens.

Her first year at Beauxbatons whizzed by as she kept her head down after making her big splash. The number of those who called themselves her rival dwindled, and popularity of those who called themselves her friend soared. She then spent the summer practicing fencing, ballet and horseback riding on her family estate in southern France. Before the start of the school year, Amaury and Ghislaine took Roberta on a tour around their home countries, showing their daughter the various monuments and statues. Of those she saw, one impressed her most, the Arc De Triomphe.

After witnessing the many names on the monument to victory, Roberta swore to herself that one day a monument would be raised in honor of her own victories. First she would have to find something worth fighting for.

Relentless in his assault, Amaury Martin's flurry of blows kept his fencing partner and ten year old daughter Roberta at bay. Size being her most limiting factor, Roberta was perpetually at a disadvantage when fighting her father. As he had told her a dozen times before it took root in her mind, the victory-minded duelist would have to create an opening rather than wait for one to appear. If she made an opening she could close in and strike true, the only problem was that her father's form was quite flawless. It was his mastery of martial arts she envied now as they fought, later it would be his ability to pick ice cream flavors.

"You're not fighting fair." She said with a grumpy pout on her face. "Your arms are much longer, and you're at least a meter taller than me." Focused and determined, her words did not distract her from the battle, but rather accented her anger as she struck back at him, missing thrice.

"Ma petite championne." My little champion Amaury said with a ticklishly warm and playful undertone. "You cannot assume that all of your fights and bouts will be fair! No, you must steal victory out from beneath your opponents." Each word was punctuated with a swipe or a thrust. There was no resting for the Martin family duelists, they did not relent until they had been proven triumphant, or forced to accept defeat.

Nimbly evading, yet another weak swipe to the side in preparation for a thrust, Roberta attempted to find her balance while making a mental note to parry on the inside of the slash the next time he made that mistake. If her father wasn't going to make a mistake and provide her with an opening, the spirited warrior witch was going to make him offer her one.

"Petit Abeille," Little Bee her father japed as he stabbed at her again, "why do you dodge instead of striking?" His face was alight with bemusement as his stabs missed his nimble daughters backpedaling. If she could read his thoughts however she would hear the overflowing but bottled up pride that swelled with each of her evasive maneuvers.

A flash of inspiration swept across Roberta's face as her father attempted the same mistake she'd been looking for. Hilt off alignment lead by a low aggression swipe to the same side in preparation for a thrust. He'd done this three times in a row. She brought her foil up and in full to glide along her opponent's epee effortlessly. It was as though two streams converged into one. A nimble step to her right through the slash off center making the thrust miss her by less than a couple centimetres. Those centimetres were calculated. With her every fraction of her might, Roberta pushed the rapier true and struck her shell-shocked father in the chest.

Mouth agape, Amaury removed his helmet to stare at the marvel of his daughter, the french pureblood was awe-stricken. His little champion before him, prideful in her triumph.

"I learned it from you." She said with the same bemusement her father had earlier. "if there's not an opening, I'll make one."

Sure, he might have been a werewolf, but that didn't mean he automatically had the right to pick on everyone just for having cursed blood. The nerve of some people astounded her sensibilities.

Predictably, the massively towering third year dropped the poor eleven year recipient of his torture and trudged through a flower bed. Lavender was crushed beneath his plodding footsteps as the earth itself parted beneath his grungy boots. "Say it to my face and not my back you coward." That was a mistake on his part for sure, she might have let it go if he stopped, but she was not going to back down from a challenge so forthright.

Not be fearless, but not a coward, the brute's insult resulted in a reaction that was opposite to effect he had desired. "I said, you're a no good, big, fat, stupid, idiot." She poked his chubby belly for good measure. He was only thirteen or fourteen after all, barely old enough to start looking more adult like so he had some chubbiness. Like her instructors had taught her, and exactly as she had been prepared to do, she slowly crept her wand out of it's holster while digging her finger into his belly button. The provocation didn't last long, as the tickling sensation apparently really pissed him off.

"ARAAGH," the teenage werewolf screamed furiously while nearly foaming at the mouth. Bernard brought both arms upwards in a huge arc. Rage consumed his features and made him as predictable as broad daylight, showing exactly how boys all to often elected to solve their problems. Bernard's stupid idiot arms then came crashing down with such force that he would surely have pulverized the duelist into a paste or dust of some kind. Of course, Roberta was prepared for this exact move and only had to step back to dodge out of inaccurate brute's way. Her combat reflexes were already improving.

Pivoting to the back of Bernard's enraged and spitting form, Roberta pointed her wand at his back. She then flipped the now soaking wet cretin of a dog into the ornate fountains amidst Beauxbaton's lavish gardens using a well timed knock back charm. Plain to see for all enjoying their lunch in the courtyards, Roberta was clearly victorious over the dampened bully. Respectfully and politely, the triumphant bee leaned forward extending the same hand that poked Bernard's belly button as a peace offering. "Here, let's dry you off so I can tell you what you did wrong and maybe next time you'll win." She smirked, "though you probably shouldn't count on it."

Roberta, like many of her age, made some friends and some enemies. One of these so-called rivals would have been the third year Bernard. Before one of their encounters, Roberta would be able to remember one thing the young werewolf had been boasting about. How his family would soon have more say than any of theirs when SCAR was done with them. How the time had come for the outcasts to have a say in the wizarding society. That day she waved the boy's comments away like a pestering fly. But with news from the mainland arriving soon, she may have realised there was more to his words than she initially thought. Perhaps she wondered if the same rumours were spread into the British Isles. Something for her to find out.

Name: Madeleine Nakamura
Status: Wizard born
School: Beauxbatons
Year: Second
Appearance: Madeleine is a twelve-year-old mixed-race girl, with east asian facial features and the lightly tanned skin coming from her black heritage. She has gorgeous brown eyes from her mother, and dark brown hair. She wore her mother down and was allowed to get highlights, so her hair does have some depth in color. She is relatively tall for her age, standing around five feet, and she has a dancer's body: lithe and slim. Her posture is exquisite and she gives off the impression of being a bit posh because of the way she carries herself, but she is nothing of the sort.
Personality: Madeleine (also known as Maddie or Mads) is a girl with an eye for beautiful things. She is a dancer and she has learned to appreciate pretty sights and old architecture, particularly because of where she grew up. She is easily impressed by things that she cannot do herself, but she does pride herself on being able to do a lot! Maddie is also fiercely independent - this came from her mother's dedication to her work which often left Madeleine to her own devices. She rose to the top of her dance class on her own and learned to speak up for herself early on. Despite her independence, she treasures her friendships dearly. Her closest friends would describe her as nice but maybe a little stuck up in regards to dance and being a bit of a show off - but other than that, she's a generally sweet girl!
History:
Reducio
Madeleine Nakamura was born and raised in Colmar, France. Her mother Melanie Nakamura had moved there a few years after graduating from Mahoutokoro to pursue her passion for wandmaking. Maddie was told that her father moved there with them, but that he succumbed to a deadly magical disease during his dangerous line of work. He died before she was even born.

So Madeleine was raised by her mother in the attic of a little cottage. Melanie worked long days and hours for not a lot of money, which is why they could only rent a cottage attic at the time. Maddie was often taken to the wandmaking studio and left to play in a crib or later in a playpen as her mother learned from a renowned wandmaking mentor. Her mother was very focused on becoming great in her craft and Madeleine's early childhood suffered slightly from this, because she was always confined to the studio. However, it made Madeleine a lot more independent as a result.

Once her mother started making a bit of money, a nanny/tutor was hired to keep Madeleine occupied during the day. This was a nicer arrangement for Maddie because she was taken to parks and started interacting with other children around now. It was at one of these parks that her nanny noticed how graceful Maddie was on her feet, even as a child, and saw that she would make a great dancer (as the nanny herself used to be a dancer). After her mother was alerted to this fact, Madeleine was enrolled in dance classes as another way to keep her occupied during the day.

Dance became a huge passion for Madeleine, and she was easily the star pupil in her little class. She put in a lot of work, taking after her mother's dedication to her craft. Her mother even made it to some of her recitals and it was very exciting for the young girl. So exciting, in fact, that when she was seven and saw her mother after a particularly good dance recital, she was so excited that she forgot to take off her flats properly, ran to her mother in the parking lot after and promptly tripped over her pointe ribbons. Instead of falling to the ground, she fell into an unnaturally graceful tumble that clearly defied gravity and prevented her from getting injured. This was her first sign of magic, and her mother was so proud of her that day, she cried and got all of Maddie's favorite foods for dinner that night. With her growing up, they began to have a better mother-daughter relationship and while Madeleine shared her dance, her mother began to show her more of the intricacies of wand-making.

When she was around nine-and-a-half, she was taken to Japan and introduced to her grandparents for the first time. It seemed like her mother had not been home in a long time because there were a lot of tears and surprise and a lot of fussing over her. In truth, Madeleine had always thought her grandparents were dead or something because her mother had never talked about them, but finding out she had a whole family in Japan was really shocking for her. It had always just been her and her mom (and for a little while, her mom's boyfriend). It opened her eyes to the fact that her mother had a whole life that she had kept secret.

They spent a few months there in Japan, during which Madeleine worked on perfecting her grasp of the language that she had only known the basics of before. She was showered in gifts by her grandparents and taken all around the country to experience the culture. When it came time to move back to France, her grandparents actually decided to come with them for a vacation of their own. Madeleine got to show them her favorite aspects of her hometown of Colmar, and they went to Paris and other touristy areas. Those four months spent with her grandparents in Japan and France were some of the happiest times of Madeleine's life so far.

Eventually, though, things got back to normal. Her grandparents returned to Japan while Madeleine and her mother got a new place in Colmar. Madeleine resumed dance and her mother resumed her wandmaking. Her mother's mentor had moved on to another country by now, leaving Melanie as an up-and-coming wandmaker in her own right. Finally, Maddie's eleventh birthday came around and she received an invitation to Beauxbatons Academy of Magic.

During her first year there, she found herself enthralled by magic. She had never viewed it before as an art form because her mother used it for practicality and testing new wands. However, with Beauxbatons' emphasis on showmanship as well as the practical side, Madeleine found herself loving spells and potions even more than before. She found that a lot of students that attend the school appreciate the arts, and she continued to dance while she was there, making plenty of friends through this and her classes. During her summer back home after her first year, she was quite irate with her mother over silly things usually, but it all stemmed from being kept from her grandparents for so long. It made her question her mother more and demand answers about things that she had never thought to ask. Their relationship was strained that summer, and Madeleine hung out with some of her dance friends more often that not. Before she left for her second year at Beauxbatons, though, Maddie decided to try and forgive her mother after witnessing her breaking down in tears one night when she thought she was alone.

From the age of four, Madeleine has been learning to dance. It is an art form where she excels and takes great pride. As she went from being a young girl learning to dance the chicken to properly learning ballet, she found that she could move in ways that some of her peers could not. She received almost all of the solos and the leads because people simply loved to watch her. She was on pointe (haha, i'm very punny) with her facial expressions, her execution of the dance moves and her overall stage presence. She was simply charming to watch, and she had a natural grace that allowed her to excel in her classes and recitals. Although she put in tons of practice and hard work, her grace always seemed to come so effortlessly.

Even outside of dance, Madeleine possessed an outlook on life that was charming. She loves most art forms and finds ways to compliment people and their efforts on things even in situations where others would scold them (except for dance - she has high standards for dance). Her hometown of Colmar is known as one of the most beautiful cities in France, and she has explored every inch of the place. She has gone through the museums, researched the architecture and boated on the rivers. Everything about the place is beautiful and probably growing up in such a charming village has rubbed off on her.

The young girl was dubbed as charming from a young age, but it was only amplified after her first year at Beauxbatons. Learning magic was something Madeleine had always looked forward to, but it came as a shock to her that the school placed so much emphasis on showmanship as well. Her mother went to a different wizarding school so she'd had no idea what to expect, but this was even better than she could have hoped! In her classes, she learned how to cast spells accurately, but even more important: gracefully. Her natural grace came in handy when they were being graded on showmanship, because she captured the attention of the whole class at times. Incorporating her proper wand movements and her enunciation of spells, sometimes coupled with a twirl here or an extra brandishing of her wand (after the spell was properly cast) there. She was a natural-born performer, and she loved to have all eyes on her when she was doing well.

Additional information available to Madeleine that might prove to be unique:
Madeleine overheard a few professors mention how they petrified an intruder. A gaunt young male, believed to be a squib. One of the professors went on about how the man must have been let in, as there was no other way of finding the Academy. Another professor questioned the man's motives. Was he trying to kidnap one of the students?

Name:
Louis Antoine- Émile Mochizuki
Status:
Wizard born
School:
Beauxbatons
Year:
First Year
Appearance:
Reducio
Having an average height for his age, Louis stands at 160 cm tall. Thanks to the healthy lifestyle his mother had promoted to him, the boy is very fit and exercises quite a lot for his age. His posture can be considered too rigid- he tries to sit straight at all times, but his shoulders slouch naturally whenever he lets his guard down.

Louis’ hair, which naturally sports a nice shade of brown, gets lighter in the summer, resembling a sandy colour. A bit longer than average, the boy wears his locks tousled, apparently not putting much care into his hair- though, his messy hairstyle suits his physique quite well. The boy’s eyes, framed by long, but rare lashes, are a clear shade of blue, which can come close to grey at times. His stuffy eyebrows tend to naturally furrow, which, together with his emotionless expression, can make Louis seem cold at first glance. The boy puts care into his appearance, and he takes pride in that. Thus, thanks to his good genes and his mother’s advice, his skin is almost flawless, a reason to be envied by others.

Louis’ style is very elegant but can be considered at times too gloomy, especially for the boy’s young age. He loves to wear suits, and, even when he has to dress casually, polo shirts and blazers are his first choices. This comes off as a surprise, since his mother, Kaida, has a very unique style. The boy’s wardrobe mainly consists of darker-coloured clothes.
Personality:
Reducio
Louis is a rather calm child, who usually keeps things to himself. While he can easily notice unhealthy patterns in people’s interactions from outside, the boy can be considered quite blind in his own personal relationships. Louis’ sense of loyalty makes the boy see the people he cares for through rose-coloured glasses, ignoring the red flags that anyone else would notice immediately. Thus, even if people around him become toxic, he finds excuses for their behaviours, engaging in unhealthy dynamics with them. He only fully trusts Kaida though, the woman who had rescued him when his biological parents abandoned him and the only maternal figure he’s ever known. Thanks to her, the boy has learned to be accepting of everyone and to always seek out different ways of seeing things. This trait has been explored especially during his trips with Kaida and his cousin Coraline around the world, which has also made the boy develop a passion for traveling.

During the span of his life, up until he came to Beauxbatons, Louis had lived in five different countries, all around the globe. Thus, not only he has a vast knowledge of many cultures, but he also has an affinity for linguistics- though the only languages he is fluent in are French and English. His lifestyle has other consequences too- because his mother had homeschooled him until it was time for the boy to leave for Beauxbatons, the boy is quite shy and reserved, and, besides his cousin, Louis never really had any friends. Though, he has a big heart and has poured his love and care into different volunteering activities.

While he is interested and well-versed in many subjects, Louis’ biggest passion is having a healthy lifestyle- this includes his dishes (the boy loves cooking his vegetarian meals) and physical activity. Louis’ favourite sport is, by far, swimming.
History:
Reducio
Louis’ mother, Kaida Mochizuki, has adopted the boy when he was still an infant, and for the first couple of years, they had lived in a nice penthouse in Cairo, leading a peaceful life in the muggle world. Though, his mother had to frequently move because of her job. Thus, in the span of eleven years of his life, he has also lived in Japan, Scotland, and Greece before residing, just before his tenth birthday, in France.

There, Louis has received his Beauxbatons Acceptance letter, which didn’t come as a surprise at all. Raised by a squib, the boy knew from an early age that he is a wizard, and, while he mostly lived side-by-side with muggle people, his mother always found ways to keep him connected to his magic side.

In Scotland, Louis met Coraline- Kaida’s niece, whose father had been involved in some shady business, and thus endangered the youngster’s life. In order to fulfill her late sister’s last wish, which was to take care of her daughter at all costs, his mother took Coraline under her wing, and she came to live with Louis and Kaida. While he was a bit envious that Kaida’s attention wasn’t fully on him anymore, he eventually came to love Cora as a sister.

Louis’ first magical incident happened years ago, just a few days shy of his third birthday. Back then, his mother had just changed her look- a thing she does it quite frequently. Little Louis, who had been used to seeing Kaida with pitch-black long hair, didn’t recognize the blonde-haired woman who suddenly entered his room, and approached him. In his young mind, the boy thought that Kaida, who’d dyed and cut her hair, was someone else entirely, a monster who had hurt his real mother. As he started crying, the two-year-old boy searched for ways to escape from the crib he was trapped in, but he was defenseless. Then, something special happened: his fear triggered some sort of self-defense mechanism, and the boy started floating! While Kaida eventually pulled her son down, that was the event that gave away the boy’s magical abilities.

The truth was that, when Louis has mistaken Kaida for someone who was impersonating his mother, he wasn’t that far from the truth. In fact, the boy is the youngest son of Klaus and Arabella Marolf, two powerful pureblood wizards from Switzerland. So, how did he end up being kidnapped then?

The story goes back to his father’s childhood. From the moment Klaus was born, his parents had tried to find him a suitable wife- nothing else mattered more to them than the continuity of the pureblood lineage. While this thing hadn’t bothered him during his childhood, when he began his studies, Klaus found himself falling in love with his classmate, a muggle-born witch: Kaida Tokoyami. The young woman found herself easily falling for Klaus’ charms and manners, and before she knew, grew an obsession for the pureblooded man. They had a lovely romance, hidden from the eyes of other students and their families. But, eventually, the Marolfs found out the truth.

Becoming more and more desperate to marry their son off, so he wouldn’t elope with a mudblood, Klaus’ parents hit the jackpot when they met the Cléricos, another family of purebloods who was also searching for a suitable husband for their heiress, Arabella. After meeting his future wife for the first time, Klaus decided to break up with Kaida. While the two purebloods weren’t truly in love with each other at that time, neither of them tried to stop their imminent wedding, mainly because of their similar values and their loyalty to keeping the bloodline clean.

Thus, everyone was getting their happy ending, with an exception.

Kaida, who had been heartbroken, went mad with rage when she found out the real reason why her sweetheart left her. In an attempt to free herself from the man, she ran away from school during her last year, but, no matter how hard she tried, she couldn’t forget about Klaus. Thus, after stalking him for a few months, she found the identity of his future wife, and, one night, she tried to attack Arabella. While she had survived, the heiress was traumatized- she refused to leave her room, too afraid that someone would try to kill her again. Enraged, her family demanded that the Marlofs would get rid of Kaida, or else the wedding would be called off.

Klaus’ parents made some of their underlings find out where Kaida had been living and decided to kill her. But, in a twisted way of fate, they didn’t murder the witch, but her twin sister Madoka- after a fight with her own boyfriend, the muggle woman took her infant daughter and came to spend the night with Kaida. Though, when the said woman left the house to buy some supplies, the wizards employed by the Marlofs came. By the time Kaida returned, her sister was barely hanging on and, with her last breath, she made Kaida promise to take care of Coraline.

After learning of his girlfriend’s death, Cora’s father took his daughter and tried his best to raise her, while he blamed his sister-in-law for Madoka’s death. Kaida couldn’t defend herself, knowing very well she couldn’t spill the secret about the wizarding world- and even if she did, no one would believe her. Thus, she planned her revenge- and when word came that The Marlofs had given birth to a healthy heir, Kaida knew how to avenge her sister’s death- by taking from the people who had murdered Madoka what they loved the most.

At first, Kaida's plan was to kill Louis; even if she got caught, she had nothing more to live for. But, when she laid her gaze upon the blue-eyed boy for the first time, she knew she couldn't take his life- so she took him as her child instead. Changing both their surnames, moving to another country altogether, and, after casting some spells as to make it seem like Louis had an unfortunate accident, Kaida decided to hide her abilities, choosing to live as a muggle with her new son- which wasn't that hard, since everyone thought she was dead. She became a travel journalist, which not only kept her out of the Marlof’s sight, but also helped her explore the world. Louis followed her everywhere, and since he was too young to be burdened with learning so many different languages, he relied on his mother for almost everything.

Even though Kaida erased her existence from the wizarding world, she always made sure that Louis was in touch with his abilities and taught him many things about wizards and other magical creatures. That’s how, one day, when she found her son snooping through her old textbooks, Kaida noticed his interest in merpeople and their language. Knowing that mermish would help him much more than any other non-human language, mainly because of his swimming passion, the woman got into a contact with a community of merpeople that lived in Greece, and asked them if they could give Louis some lessons. Thankfully, they approved, and during a hot summer day, Kaida took Louis to the sea, where he was, for the first time, truly exposed to any kind of magical creatures.

Ever since he was just a baby, Louis had a knack for foreign languages. Maybe the fact that he moved between countries quite frequently helped him too, since the boy never had any trouble with memorizing enough phrases to express himself correctly. But, he’d came to find one day, human languages weren’t the only ones he could learn.

During one day, when he was only seven years old, Louis had stumbled upon a treasure in his mother’s room- a trunk full of magical books. Needless to say, the boy felt both flattered and curious: flattered because, even though she was a squib, Kaida had still bought books for him to learn from, and curious as to why she hadn’t given them to him yet. Maybe… they weren’t meant for him? Hard to believe, but that could be an explanation. Either way, the boy knew that if his mother hadn’t given the books to him yet, she must have had a good reason. Just before he decided to close the trunk and completely forget about it, Louis noticed a special encyclopedia- which was probably heavier than the boy itself. Contemplating if he should take it or not, eventually, his curiosity got the best of him, and, grabbing the volume, he sat on the bed and started reading it.

Meanwhile, worried that her son was being so silent, Kaida stopped cooking the dinner for a moment and came to check on Louis. To her surprise, though, he wasn’t even in his room at all: the woman was shocked to find the little boy sitting on her bed, reading from one of the books she’d kept hidden in her trunk. Actually, she didn’t even have time to express her surprise at all, since when he noticed his mother in the doorway, Louis had practically jumped on her, begging her to tell him everything about all the non-human languages: Veela, Parselmouth, Mermish, and many, many others. Seeing his excitement, Kaida couldn’t even get angry at her son for snooping through her things, though from that moment she made sure to lock her door.

For Louis, it was like a whole new world had opened: while human languages held many similarities between them, the magical ones were like nothing else he’d ever heard. And, for a wizard-like him, they could become useful in the future too! After many hours spent asking his mother to teach him a non-human language, the boy’s wish was finally granted when, one day during their year spent in Greece, Kaida took Louis to the sea- where he met a group of Merpeople. It didn’t cross his mind how his mother even came to know the creatures in the first place, since he soon found out that they were going to teach him Mermish. That alone was the best thing Louis could ever ask for- because of his passion for swimming, this language could also provide to be much more useful than the others in the future!

Thus, for a whole year, the boy had been exercising almost daily the foreign language and, by the time Kaida announced him that they had to move, Louis was easily conversing with the Merpeople whenever he was both underwater and at the surface

EDIT: After reading Louis' history once more, I noticed that some details seemed to be forced on, so I altered them a bit, as to make everything seem more realistic.
Everything reads alright to me. One small note: I have removed the mention of knowing the written form of Mermish as it is not clear if there even is a written form. For an underwater species, it would surprise me if they had one for example. Either way, it would need dicussion with the lore team. Maybe one day we will release a lore article regarding this race. For any questions, feel free to DM Caradoc Browne.

Additonal IC information for Louis:
The news regarding squib riots reached Louis' ear as well. One afternoon in the beginning of his year, he overheard one older girl boast about how her father was in helping the ministry's efforts in reminding these people of "their place in wizarding society". She wasn't to shy to follow up her statement with "good riddance". There seemed to be a handful of her friends agreeing with her.

Name: Sylvie Joelene Everett
Status: Pureblood
School: Beauxbatons
Year: Second Year
Appearance:
Reducio
(FC: Emma Engle)
Sylvie has long brown hair and slightly tanned skin. Unless for some reason she has a reason to be annoyed, her features are normally curved into a smile, and even when she's supposed to be listening or sitting, Sylvie tends to keep shifting her gaze and watching everything nearby. If confined, Sylvie is prone to pacing, unless she can find a suitable pursuit to keep her occupied, although it's rare that that ever lasts long.
Personality:
Reducio
She had frequently been described as an "untameable ball of pure energy", mostly on account of her extremely energetic behavior and boundless enthusiasm. However, Sylvie can also be incredibly stubborn in her goals and decisions - although most people she meets later describe her as "strong-minded". Unlike many in her family, she prefers to head outside and play over remaining inside to learn, a fact many of her teachers, and then later, even some of her personal tutors were quick to point out.
History:
Reducio
Sylvie Joelene Everett was born on a cold September night to Marie and Louis Everett. However, the dark place of her birth did nothing to affect the rest of her life. In fact, Sylvie quickly grew up to be more energetic than both of her studious parents combined, and was always quick to point out the positives in any situation. By the time she was four, it wasn't a rare sight to see the young Everett child waddling around the neighborhood, looking for something or someone to amuse herself with. And while many were tolerant towards her free-roaming behavior, there were still those who found the child irritating and troublesome. However, that did nothing to faze the girl, and instead made her all the more determined to befriend these grumpy people. Her efforts were of course met with little to no success, but many admired her staunch determination in the endeavor.

In fact, that same stubborn determination has in time become one of her most predominant personality traits, along with her excitement and loyalty. Unfortunately, after the initial admiration wore off, many people began to find her "pigheadedness" tiring at best, annoying or irritating at worst. This led to her parents receiving several complaints from the neighbors, which inevitably resulted in Sylvie getting confined to the house and yard until further notice. Being the fearless little girl she was, Sylvie attempted many, many times to break out, but excluding short trips down the road before getting caught again, she never succeeded. However, the message soon seemed to get through to her parents, and they allowed her to walk to the park once a day, as long as she was accompanied by either her mother or father. And so it went for several years.

When she reached age nine, the household prison sentence, which had already grown loose and half-hearted over the years, was finally revoked. Sylvie reveled in her newfound freedom, but was careful to respect other people's space the way her four-year-old self hadn't, lest she lose the privilege of spending pretty much all her time outdoors. In fact, this was the cause of her first instance of magic. Her parents had been growing worried over the fact that their daughter, who was only two years away from her eleventh birthday, had yet to show any signs of magic. But one afternoon, when she accidentally wandered into the next door neighbor's backyard after mistaking their house for her own (many of the houses on her street looked quite similar), she found herself almost getting caught by the man who owned the place. Luckily, she somehow managed to cause a commotion by sending a stack of tools and other assorted yard equipment crashing to the ground in a great mess in order to distract the man before he discovered her hiding place in the bushes. While at first she was hesitant to believe the cause of the accident was actual magic, Sylvie soon realized that there was no other explanation for the seemingly sturdy pile to fall apart. Then, after she made her escape, came the dilemma of telling her parents. In the end, she fibbed that she'd sent a collection of things flying at her head away, and they accepted that fully, much to her joy.

Nothing much else in the remaining two years of her life before she arrived at Beauxbatons was very much remarkable. However, once she did begin school, Sylvie was quick to assemble a group of close friends, and although they've had their share of arguments, her easy-going and positive nature makes it hard to stay mad at her long.

It's odd, yes, but although Sylvie has never been the most intelligent of the bunch, she has always fostered a love of spells, especially those used for dueling and defending herself and friends. Or, really, anyone that deserves defending. She's not picky.

This led to numerous study sessions, which was an oddity for the girl, who was more likely to be seen outside with friends than in the library with a book. But there she was, doing her best to learn spells not necessarily at her level. Throughout her first year, she met with little to no success in her studies. In the end, Sylvie would have just about given up, if it weren't for a trip to visit some distant relatives in London, where she met up with two of her cousins she'd never met before. While one of the two was generally more of a nuisance, the other was an invaluable source of spell knowledge, especially about spells for Defense Against The Dark Arts that were one year ahead of Sylvie. After an initially rocky start, both girls (for the second cousin was also female) seemed to get along well, and enjoyed the majority of their time together, even though this led to both getting targeted by a large amount of pranks and general annoyances from the cousin's younger brother. Sylvie took advantage of the allotted time to learn all she could about advanced Defense Against The Dark Arts spells from her new friend, learning quite a bit in a surprisingly short time. When the trip was finished, Sylvie's parents were surprised by their daughter's sudden thirst for knowledge on the subject, where before there had been only general indifference, or at the very most a lesser interest. However, they did nothing to hinder her, and in truth were also instrumental to Sylvie's learning process.

After an entire summer of studying various books and asking her parents for help, Sylvie managed to get herself up-to-date on the current spells in class, since after a year of not paying all that much attention, she didn't remember much. But that didn't solve her next mission - to go above and beyond the norm for that class. So during the start of her second year, she threw herself into her spell studies, even spending many of her free periods working and reading, much to her friend's surprise. But in the end it payed off, with Sylvie finally learning spells most of her peers had yet to figure out. Now she is happy to resume her typical schedule - but with a bit more studying than before.

Edit Note By Me: I was recently warned that students aren't able,to have advanced abilities because then they'll know spells the main PC doesn't, however, since Miranda already has the specified ability, I was wondering whether it would still be OK. If not, then consider her second ability as undecided.

Additonal IC information for Sylvie:
Sylvie's instinctive wandering would have got her in trouble as Beauxbatons travelled to Hogwarts. Noticing the Academy's staff being nervous at times, they often snapped at her and forced her to stay close to the group. The tension during the entire trip was palpable. What was it that had the professors on edge? As she stuck closer to one of the staff members she heard someone mention how the streets weren't safe any more with the riots going on. A line that would certainly make any child wonder what was going on.

First Year | Evasive Maneuvers (721 Words)
Reducio
"Ow!" Sébastien rubbed his head while eyeing up the tennis ball that was rolling away from his body. It stopped after a while and lodged itself into the snow as the boy turned around to see his grandfather laughing at him. It was a wonder why they had decided to play tennis on a early February snow day. Normally, they would be sat inside with a book or two drinking hot chocolate and warming their bodies against the fire they had but they just had to go outside on the coldest day yet.

The young child crossed his arms while huffing and shaking his head. Then he pulled his gloves off and signed "Why did you do that?" His grandfather shook his shoulders and grinned before picking up another tennis ball and reaching his arm backwards to throw it towards his grandson. Sébastien closed his eyes waiting for the impact but it never came. He stood there for a while just shivering while trying to figure out if he just didn't feel it or his grand-father had a terrible shot.

Slowly, he opened one eye and looked down to see he had moved. Berry did not recall moving and was very confused. He looked up and signed again, "Did I move?" while his grand-father nodded his head wildly and walked over towards the pile of tennis balls they had made. There was around twenty there and another ten scattered around the tennis. Sébastien's grandmother had also been out with them for a while but had gone back inside due to her back problems leaving the boys to play by themselves.

As soon as he saw another ball heading for his head, Sébastien jumped out of the way and ran to the other side of the court. "Are you trying to take my head off or something?" He signed and shook his head before letting out a chuckle. His grandfather did always have a reason behind his methods so Sébastien did not push on any further and continued to look out for any yellow/green balls of fluff flying his way.

His grandfather quickly took off his gloves and replied moving his hands at a rapid pace, "I'm preparing you." He then proceeded to pick up two balls and chucked one in the air before catching it again. "What for?" Sébastien inquired before ducking as one zoomed past him. His grandfather laughed again and picked up his racket.

"What's he doing now? Is he really trying to kill me?" Sébastien whispered under his breath while shaking his head. It was getting colder by the minute and he was determined to not get hit by his grand-father. If someone was walking past and say him get a tennis ball to the face they for sure would laugh and go tell everyone on the street. What a humiliation that would be!

John (his grandfather) smiled and threw a ball into the air while swinging the racket with all his might and hit the ball in the direction of Berry. Even with the air resistance slowing the ball down ever so slightly, if it hit Sébastien he knew a bruise would form. He closed his eyes and took a deep breath taking in his surroundings and ran out of the way before the ball clipped his ear.

"Good lad." His grandfather signed as he nodded his head and then grabbed the rest of the tennis balls from the floor while beckoning his grandson over. "That's not the last time we will be doing that, Son." John let out a small laugh and continued, "I want to see you grow up to be someone who can evade attacks. Not be the attacker."

"But why would I need to do that Grandpa?" Sébastien questioned looking towards the floor. He knew the exact answer to that and did not need to hear the answer as his mind suddenly flew to the instance a few weeks beforehand where a few boys had thought it would be funny to throw rotten food at him. It had really been Sébastien's fault though. He was the one that had insulted a little girl and was the one who went around bragging about stuff. It was just good to be prepared. "Never mind, I think we should do it the same time next week."

OOC NOTE: Everything said to his grandfather was signed and everything his grandfather said was signed as well. The only time Sebastien speaks is when it is specifically said.

Name: Enzo Delcroix

Status: Pureblood

School: Beauxbatons

Year: First year

Appearance:
Enzo is a fairly average sized boy for his age at a height of 144.5cm (4’7). He has a honey blonde heap of hair on his head that tends to be situated in a slightly unkempt fashion. He has a pair of darkish blue eyes that he inherited from his mother and has a warm ivory coloured skin tone.
(The banner that I will use is posted up top)

Personality:
Enzo grows annoyed quicker than the speed of light and isn’t afraid to show it. He particularly gets frustrated when people talk to him about frivolous things or try to start small talk with him unnecessarily. When he neither likes nor dislikes others it is quite typical for him to have a pretty dull and have a sarcastic attitude towards them. If he wants to, he can be a cordial and sincere kid, but he doesn't show that side of himself often unless he really actually likes the person. He enjoys reading old literature in his spare time and constantly finds himself lost in the world of books. He doesn't seem like the type of kid that fancies studying but he surprisingly does and is a pretty clever kid.

History:
Enzo Delcroix is an 11 year old pureblood who was born in Bordeaux, France but both his parents Madeline Delcroix and Adrien Delcroix, are Belgian. The boy grew up in a quiet but a ruleridden setting.
As an infant he had gotten quite sick and it had taken him a long time to recover, hence the fact that when he was a small boy he was still very weak and frail. His parents decided to shelter him from everything because they didn’t want him to catch something from the outside world since they assumed his immune system was too fragile to go through another illness. Luckily after the age of approximately 8 he started to finally gain some strength, but with that said, unfortunately it did not change his parent’s view of him. Even though he was not so little and puny anymore his mother would hire tutors to teach him in the “comfort” of their own home so he would not have to go to school, and he absolutely hated it. He felt a bit jealous and thought that it was unfair that he was being babied at home while all the other children got to live a ‘normal life’ for children his age. He wasn’t such a little boy anymore so why was he still treating him like one?
His father was hardly ever home (which Enzo assumed was due to work), leaving him with his extremely strict mother who made it clear that she would choose where he could go and what he could do and had constantly kept him on a tight leash barely giving him any freedom. He had a couple of “friends”, but they were the children of families who his parents had approved of and said that they would be good influences on him, whatever that means. But to be honest he did not care about the friend aspect of his life whatsoever. He was perfectly fine with entertaining himself by reading or something of that sort, because anyways he found most children his age quite annoying since they would talk about such shallow things like what was the newest show playing on the television or the freshest gossip about celebrities.
Surprisingly he actually did once find a friend on his own, a neighbour who he would talk to over the fence of his house, but then one day out of nowhere she stopped showing up. He was very concerned regarding her whereabouts so he had asked his parents and they gave him a very dry answer and just gave a poor excuse by saying she moved. The more time that passed the more he started to slowly forget her appearance, but the one thing he remembered was that the little girl had bright green eyes that were always filled with a look of curiosity. Funnily enough they had never actually introduced themselves to one another because they always called each other by a nickname. She would call him “solitaire” meaning “loner” because she consistently saw him outside on the lawn of his house doing something or other by himself, and he would call her “oiseau” meaning “bird” for the way she was always humming a soft tune. She was the first kid who didn’t bore him with childish topics or gossip. She had so many interesting opinions on every single topic they talked about; from books to studies to muggles, she somehow had an endless amount of thoughts, but she had vanished without a trace… although he knew though that one day, eventually, he would try to find her.
His very first encounter with magic happened when he was 9 years old. One dreary day his tutor had gotten frustrated with him since his penmanship was an utter mess and was apparently unreadable, so he was given the task to rewrite a single sentence multiple times until each letter was perfected. He quickly grew angry at this and was staring at the page with his jaw clenched when all of a sudden every single page in the vicinity burst into smithereens causing bits of paper to rain down all over the room. When the boy realized what went on he was ecstatic, for he knew what it meant. He assumed he would be but this finally confirmed it... He was a wizard.
Enzo was informed about Beauxbatons only a few months prior to his departure. He had heard about the school beforehand but was shocked to find out he would be going to attend and live there and was confused why his parents were letting him go since they hadn’t even let him go for a walk down their own street by himself. Eventually he came to the conclusion that they wanted him to become a successful wizard and knew they couldn’t teach him properly at home.

Enzo’s bored looking facial expressions and short tempered attitude is something that is quite noticeable once he enters a room. His mother always scolded him for acting the way he did, but he couldn’t help it; it was impossible for him to put a fake smile or act like he was happy and excited when being talked to by others. “Be more friendly, be more social” these words that his mother told him were played in his head like a record, over and over and over again. But the only reason she asked this of him was so her idiotic friends would compliment her on what a nice son she has. So did he care? Not in the slightest. All it did was anger him to no end. Why does he have to change who he is? If she didn’t like who he was she should have raised him better. At least that is what he thought. How did she expect him to be a peppy enthusiastic boy who prances around eagerly all the time? She was the one who sheltered him from the whole world because he ‘a weak little boy wouldn’t be able to survive in such a cruel society’. Although he never spoke back or talked out of turn to his elders, he always had a whirlwind of unpleasant comments rushing through his brain. When he did get the chance to meet other kids, most of the time they did not talk to him voluntarily, since they seemed kind of weary of him, like he’d bite their head off or something. In all honesty he wasn’t a cruel or a particularly mean kid, I guess you could say he just had something that was off about him. One thing that was clear to everyone who met the family was that Enzo had an uncanny resemblance to his father. Although his father wasn't around much, when he was Enzo found himself looking up to him. He wasn't the best role model in the slightest but he was Enzo's father after all.
So not only from looks he resembled his father, but also because he had started to gain a lot of similar qualities to him. His father had an odd effect on people as well, but in his case it was much stronger and more evident. It was obvious that the people he would talk to get easily intimidated by his presence and become rather uneasy. Enzo wanted to be able to do the same thing since he knew he could use it to his advantage. He knew if he had that edge to him he could effortlessly get people to leave him alone, and was pretty much oblivious to that fact that he already somewhat was.

Additonal IC information for Enzo:
Even as a newly arrived first year, Enzo would be able to tell that the academy was running a bit stricter than most had anticipated for the coming year. Something had startled the members of staff and news from the outside wizarding world seemed to always feature the same topics of birthright and blood relations. Maybe it was time to make some friends and connections for the young Enzo.

Name: Florian Yves LeRoy

School: Beauxbatons

Year: First-year

Age: 11

Birthday: December 3, 2008

Nationality: French

Blood Status: Wizard-Born
Appearance: Florian is a soft-faced, blue-eyed, and brown-haired boy. It is quite clear that he is of French descent, with his pale skin. He has an above-average build and is rather strong being the youngest of five boys, all of which loved to roughhouse and pick on their youngest sibling. He is quite fashionable, and takes pride in styling his hair, usually with gel.
Face Claim: Maxime Godart
Personality: Florian grew up as the youngest of five boys, and while his older brothers tended to pick on him, his parents spoiled him rotten. He was their precious little ‘petit garçon’ (little boy), and he got everything he wanted, and now he is always used to getting his way. When this doesn’t happen, he tends to do whatever he can to make it happen, be it good or bad. Despite this, he can be quite a charming and eloquent guy when he needs to be, able to talk himself out of certain precarious situations. He is also extremely competitive, as he aims to be the best of his siblings.
History:
Reducio
Florian was born December third, 2008 to Èdouard and Èlodie LeRoy right outside the city of Strasbourg, France. They were told this would probably be their last child, as his parents struggled to conceive him. Because of this, they were sure to spoil him and gave him whatever he wanted. He grew up a very rambunctious child, as being the smallest of five boys proved to be challenging. His older brothers were all jealous of the treatment he received and they tended to pull pranks on him until they were old enough to attend Beauxbatons themselves, leaving him alone to be swooned over by his parents. He was 4 years younger than his closest sibling, the others all being only a year or two apart.

His first sign of magic came at age 7 when all of his siblings were home for the summer holiday. As they tended to do, his older brothers were roughhousing out in the back garden. With no rhyme or reason, they pulled Florian into the scuffle. Things started to get more and more intense and little Florian couldn't handle it anymore. He let out a large yell of anger for them to get off, and realized he had accidentally sent his brothers flying back a few feet off the ground. He was shocked. Well, perhaps that would teach them a lesson! His parents heard his yelp and ran out back to see what the commotion was. His brothers were immediately ready to tell his parents what happened, hoping to get Florian in trouble. However, nothing could ever get their precious 'petit garçon' in trouble, and, of course, they were extremely excited that all five of their boys had magic. Shortly after, Florian told his father about his interest in riding brooms. His father, unable to say no and being an avid rider himself, then took the time to personally teach Florian everything he needed to know about flying brooms.

While he loved his parents dearly, as he got older he began to feel like they were too overbearing and overprotective, so he began acting out. Breaking the rules became a new hobby of his, and he loved sneaking off with his father’s broom out into the night. He couldn’t wait to get away from them, and was elated to get his letter to Beauxbatons.

Florian was excited to attend Beauxbatons, he simply couldn’t wait to learn magic. After arriving, he was sorted hastily into Ombre Lune, the same house as his eldest sibling. He doubted that his siblings would be there to help him at school… his best bet was to turn on his charming demeanor to make him some friends. He did this well, as he managed to secure a spot on the Beauxbaton Broom Racing Team.

Growing up with four older brothers who were all jealous of how their parents treated you was never going to be easy. As a young child, Florian stuck to the rules, no matter what they were doing, and his brothers would make fun of him or would easily take advantage of him. His parents, however, gushed over how such a lovely ‘petit garçon’ could also be quite the charming and sweet young boy, always the one to follow his parents every whim. As he reached age 9, he was beginning to get tired of always being the center of attention in his family, as well as the overbearing attitude of his parents. Something had to be done, he simply couldn’t stand being the goody-two-shoes ‘petit garçon’ anymore.

It was then he decided he would get back at his brothers and his parents. He would break the rules. That would show his brothers he had the ability to ‘stick it’ to his parents. Maybe he could finally be friends with them. When at home being tutored by his parents before attending Beauxbatons, he decided to put his new plan in action. The fastest way to be done with his homework was to cheat… then he could do whatever he wanted. When his parents weren’t watching, he would sneakily grab the page with the homework answers out of his parent's book to copy the answers on his homework sheet, and, more often than not, he was successful at it. While his parents would be upset with him when they did catch him, they tended to blame it on other things, such as his older siblings' influence on him. This just made Florian even more upset.

He decided that his next attempt at cheating would be something big. He knew he would be playing again with his brothers soon when they came back for the summer holiday, so he began to study all sorts of ways to become better at them at broom racing… and even the best ways to get around the rules. He was almost the best of them at flying, with all of the independent instruction his father had given him, and he was ready to put it all to the test. He casually suggested that they do a race out in the forests of their large estate one day and of course, his brothers were eager to prove they were better than him. Little did they know, the track that they typically raced on had been rigged for certain things to happen, as well as smaller areas were made to fit through than his older brothers could. This took Florian an entire day to set up, but it was well worth it. Of course, Florian ended up winning and he also managed to bump a few of his brothers around some while racing. One almost hit a tree! He was extremely proud of himself and his brothers were actually proud of him for tricking them so cleverly. Oh, they would still make fun of him for sure, but Florian earned a little bit of respect that day. From that day on, Florian knew it was not quite so much about skill, but about how you bent the rules in order to win. You can always get what you want if you break the rules….

Additonal IC information for Florian:
The news of wizards and witches being targeted by those that have been denied their rightful place within wizarding society kept on growing by the day. Appearance
Emile has short dark brown hair and large brown eyes. His eyes almost come off as yellow in some lights and he takes pride in this. He is a moderate height and weight, not too small and not too tall. Many moles and freckles dust his face and body. He usually wears very well put together outfits and his hair is always laid in the right way. He uses a minimum amount of gel, not wanting his hair to get dehydrated or crusty.
Personality
Emile is very kind. He loves taking care of others and being as helpful as possible. He wants to make as many friends as possible while at school. He is shy and doesn’t usually put himself out there. He is also naive and easily pushed around. If someone more assertive than him comes along they can easily manipulate him into doing what they want. He loves animals and hopes to take care of them one day.
History
Reducio
Emile was born into the LeDoux family. He is Liz’s second cousin. He was born to Noelle and Albert LeDoux in Deauville on the coast of France. He grew up as an only child and was spoiled rotten. This however is not what he wanted. He never asked for anything and any fancy things he had his parents bought for him because they wanted to spoil. Although his parents are from a strict Pure-Blood family they are not as aggressive about it. They still would prefer he got married to a Pure Blood girl they would be fine with any. He himself does not care about any of that.

From a young age, he was very interested in Magical Creatures, the family owning many. He showed interest in normal muggle creatures too. He found all species to be interesting and wants to learn all he can about them. He read Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them well before attending any sort of school. When he got older he started pushing his parents to let him attend a muggle school until he was old enough to go to Beauxbatons. They finally relented and he started to attend when he was 7 years old.

His first instance of magic was when he was 3. He was toddling around the living room, playing with his toys when his mother came in to try and put him to bed. He tried to get away from her, not wanting to go to bed, but that didn't work out. When she tried to pick him up she found that he was much much heavier than he should be. He had made himself heavy enough that she couldn't lift him to take him to bed. She was so pleased that she had shown a sign of magic that she let him stay up a bit longer.

He first went to the beach when he was around 8 and immediately fell in love. He had never seen anything quite so beautiful. He loved the smell of the ocean, the sand between his toes, the breeze, and the animals. He loves ocean animals. They mystify him more than any other type of animal. If he wasn’t at school or at home he was observing and drawing ocean animals. He has a journal that he draws and writes notes in. He is ecstatic to learn about magical creatures at Beauxbatons and can’t wait to meet friends.

Abilities Comprehend Languages
Reducio
Emile always looked for new books to read about different animals. Whenever he ran across what looked like a good book about Veela’s it was always in a different language. This made really bothered him and inconvenienced him. After running across the 5th book in a row in a different language he decided to switch his search. Going to the language section of his family library he found many books about many different languages. Finding all the ones he could about Veela, he took them to his room. He spent hours upon hours reading them. Within a week he had finished each one and was ready to re-read and try and learn the language.

Starting with simple greetings and basic chatter, he quickly moved on to more advanced things. He had always been an academic and spoke French, English, and German. Why would Veela be any different? English and German were both muggle languages and had been fairly easy for him to get down, Veela, however, was a magical language, and the first one he had attempted to learn. Basic things were easy for him to get down. It was the more complicated parts of the language that got him. He would spend hours each night trying to get only a few phrases down. He would walk around the house muttering in Veela to himself.

After a month and a half of practice, he felt pretty confident in his abilities to keep a basic conversation going, although it was hard to know since he didn’t personally know a Veela he could practice with. However, his parents had noticed how much effort he was putting into learning the language and his mother asked her Veela friend to try and help him. When she told him he was so excited. As soon as the Veela walked in the door he immediately greeted her in Veela. He called her Ms. Paquet.

Ms. Paquet came every weekday for 2 hours to work with him on the language. This was a godsend as he had been pronouncing many things wrong. He had an understanding of the basic mechanics of the language but not how to pronounce anything. Within the following 3 months, he picked up more and more. Ms. Paquet was shocked at how quickly he learned and was impressed with how much he picked up in the few short months. As he grew his parents started planning a trip with Ms. Paquet where he would go and stay with her family for a week, just to test out his Veela with others.

He was ecstatic and really enjoyed his week with the Veela family. He got many comments on his language skills and lavished in being able to understand what they were saying. When he got home he felt confident enough to get those books in Veela and read them. He has been honing his skill ever since and tries his best to practice twice every weak so he doesn’t lose it.
