The minimum betrothal age for young wizards and witches (with parental consent) is defined by the Wizengamot as fourteen, as of the year 2020. The betrothal and marriage age without parental consent is seventeen.
*This is not only an IC law, but also an OOC rule. Your character cannot get engaged until at least 14 nor married until 17.

I'm curious as to how we'll deal with the characters that are under 14 who are betrothed. Ex. Aurelia Notresvace, Astrea Soleil-Neptune was engaged at some point. We wouldn't be able to grandfather them in because that would imply that the law did not apply to them. I understand it's as of 2020, but "You were 12 when you were betrothed last year but it's ok" feels a bit off.

PURE-BLOOD (PB) SACRED 28

Carrow -- I agree that Carrow should be in the exinction list. Even if we were to add the twins into the mix, extinction dies when there's no remaining heir. The girls would become a part of a different family with a different last name, ending the line.

Ollivander -- should be taken out of the sacred 28, correct? While they were PB family, they are not anymore since the birth of Garrick. Unless you want to create a separate symbol to say "former PB family".

Longbottom -- Neville could definitely have kids by now that could just be a part of our Lore. I would doubt that the Longbottom line would be extinct or even thought about being extinct tbh.

PBs WITH MUGGLE SOCIETY

This was mentioned on Discord under Validations. We are looking for more information and further discussion on what it means to be a Pure-Blood in the modern age. Things have obviously changed over the years.

Are there still PBs that are still traditonalists? Are there still PB's that have branched out? For those who branched out, are those the ones who begin to have magical TVs and cars? In addition, our Main Story has been hinting at equality between blood status. How would this affect them?

This discussion was started because in Validation, we have been seeing a plethora of different styles of PB and want to have a definitive consensus.

Late but, Maya, thanks for reminding me. I imagine being a traditionalist or not will depend on the family. Some may have moved away from it and others may still cling. The topic would fit well under "Attitudes" or "Modern Day." As for technology, I will ask Index about their opinions on it. Word of God Rowling mentioned some purebloods having a flying Rolls Royce but Index (...and myself in rp) may have been enforcing the opposite. We'll need to decide.

A user has DMed me on the topic of pureblood customs. They provided some headcanons/fanon on what we could incorporate into the official lore. A lot of these ideas come from fanfiction but that's basically what HiO is anyway. I have not fallen into the hole of Ao3 Harry Potter fanfiction, so I'm going by canon only, but that only takes me so far. Rowling didn't expand much into the topic of pureblood culture other than it being more isolated, more vaguely traditionalist. For a lore page...that is underwhelming.

I am simply leaving this here so maybe it'll spark the imagination as Eve and I draft. From a quick read though I have already decided some that canon can justify and some it cannot:
