2026 Hogwarts Pride:
The Boat Parade

June is Pride Month in both the Muggle and the magical worlds, celebrating anyone on the LGBTQIAP+ spectrum and reminding them that they are loved and respected. A popular way of celebrating in the Muggle world is through hosting large parades, in which members of the queer community and allies alike gather to march in or just watch a processional of large and brightly-coloured floats, dance to music, eat great food, and generally have a wonderful time in excellent company whilst celebrating!

Though there is hardly a road big enough on which to hold a parade at Hogwarts, we do have an excellent lake and plenty of small boats handy! Prefect of Slytherin @Charlotte Winfield and Ravenclaw Quidditch Captain @Aly Salinger have acquired professors' permission to use the canoes for a pride-themed boat parade, and have invited any student who wants to participate in the parade (or just to come hang out) down to the Boathouse for some float-decorating and fun. You are welcome to build a float with a group of up to 4 people total (the maximum that will fit in such a small canoe) or by yourself.

Snacks will be provided (and chosen thematically), and you are not required to build a float in order to participate in the errand. The next day, anyone at Hogwarts is welcome to come watch the parade from the shores of the Black Lake and celebrate the LGBT+ community!

(The parade itself will not be part of the errand; only the "float-building/hanging out at the float-building" part counts towards the word count, and the parade thread will be released at the conclusion of the errand.)
