MONGOOSE OF LOVE
10 February 2026
Oh no! Makaio is trying to decorate a Valentine's day gift for his wife, Leilani! He has lost several rolls of Valentine's day specific parchment, favorite quills, and his mongoose themed Valentine's day heart stickers! He has been combing the entire castle for where he might have misplaced these various items. It’s up to you to help solve this mystery, find the item(s) and return them safely to the Professor’s office! Fortunately for all our Sherlocks out there, the location of these items are the library! Your task, should you choose to accept it, is to find the items in the below scenarios and use the corresponding Transfiguration spell to free them, then narrate your way back to the Professor’s office in whichever way you see fit!
You may choose 1 or all of these to do:
1. His mongoose heart stickers have been transfigured into an item of your choosing hidden within the bookshelves! Successfully cast reparifarge on the item to restore his stickers, and return them to his desk.
2. His favorite quills has been mistaken for a priceless artifact (perhaps it is! He has had many dangerous Indian Jones inspired adventures in his day)! Someone put it in a glass case! Successfully cast “Glass to Sand” to free the quill. Don’t forget to undo it! We must not leave a mess in the library! Return the quill to his ink well.
3. Apparently parchment makes great bedding! Retrieve this special parchment from high up on the rafters. Someone’s favorite pet must have snuck it up there for a cozy snooze! Successfully cast Avifors on the parchment roll and fly it down gently. Make sure parchment is wrinkle free on his desk!

After wandering for a while in the dungeons, she went up to the ground floor. She had read the marvellous stories about the Artefact Room, a small storage facility off to the right of the Entrance Hall. She had always been keen on old objects that held so much history within them, especially those of cultural and historical interest. From a young age, she had been fascinated by the variety of wizarding cultures around the world, and she found that they brought much useful knowledge into her life. She decided that the free hour she had would be the hour she discovered what Hogwarts had to offer in this very aspect.
The girl entered the artefact room. She had been sneaking through the corridors to reach it, as she was unsure whether she was even allowed to be seen in this part of the castle. Nevertheless, she slipped in through the heavy wooden door and closed it with a low thud behind her. The artefact room was not at all what she had expected. She had imagined something grand, where each object would be served with protection and be displayed for people to admire. Instead, it was simply a storage room. Everything appeared to have been thrown in with little care, stored not for admiration but merely to make space for anything else that needed to be hidden deep within the castle. It was clear that hardly anyone ever visited this room, or at least not in the past year, as everything was dusty and covered in a thick layer of cobwebs.
With slow steps, the first-year student began circling the cluttered walls, her bright eyes carefully analysing every object, checking if any held cultural significance. When she reached the centre of the room, she stopped. On a web-covered, dark wooden nightstand stood a glass case, and inside it were a few quills. To Dominica’s keen eye, they looked like ordinary quills, yet compared to the other artefacts in the room, they were displayed as if they were priceless treasures. She was confused. The girl leaned down closer to examine the display. She found herself wondering where she had seen these quills before. Her mind ran over the past six months at Hogwarts as she tried to remember what about them looked so familiar. Then it struck her: Professor Kāne’s quills. She had seen the Transfiguration teacher use these in every one of his lectures, and she wondered how and why they had appeared here in a closed-off storeroom, far from his classroom.
Something was not right about this. She could have simply left the quills where she had found them and possibly avoided getting into trouble. But she found it extremely disrespectful that the quills were displayed in such a fine case among these priceless artefacts, when they were just some professor’s writing tools – not in any way magical or historically significant. She could not let these quills overshadow the presence of the other significant objects in this room. She made up her mind. She pointed her wand at the glass case and murmured, “Quarzicum!” A faint blue ray of light shot from the wand at the glass case, and it looked almost as if the spell shattered the case, but instead of glass shards, the pieces turned into sand. The quills fell to rest neatly in the pile of sand that a moment ago had been glass. The girl picked them up with great care. She knew how people could get attached to inanimate objects; she completely understood that, and if anyone had touched her quills in a way that could ruin them — she would ruin their face. To avoid leaving a mess in the Artefact Room, she once again pointed her wand at the spot where the glass had stood.
“Reparifarge!” she cast, and the sand transformed back into a glass case, now empty, standing in the same place as before.
She made her way out of the Artefact Room, leaving it as if it were a chapel, never once turning her back on the historical objects cluttered within. She closed the door as quietly as possible and returned to the Entrance Hall, the Transfiguration professor’s quills in hand. She ascended the moving staircases to the fifth floor; even after five months of using them almost every day, she still had not grown accustomed to the ever-changing invention. She preferred things to remain as she knew them. Finally, after reaching the fifth floor, she made her way to the Transfiguration professor’s office and knocked on the door. No one answered. It was possible the professor was teaching a class to another year group while she had a free period. She quietly opened the door just a fraction, observing the office inside. It was empty, so she walked in. It felt uncomfortable and wrong to be in a professor’s office when they were not there.
As quickly as possible, she made her way to the desk at the end of the room and neatly laid the small collection of quills on it, making sure they were placed where he would notice them. She was about to turn to leave, but realised she could not simply leave the professor uninformed. Did he even know that his quills had appeared in the Artefact Room, somehow inside a glass case? She doubted it. So the first-year student walked back to the table and took out her own quill and a piece of parchment from the over-the-shoulder satchel she always carried. She placed the parchment on the desk and, after a moment’s thought, scribbled something along the lines of:
She leaned back and examined the note. She supposed it was good enough. She tucked it under the quills and, as quickly as possible, exited the uncomfortable atmosphere of the room. Her next class was starting in about ten minutes; she supposed Mr Kāne’s class would be ending at the same time.‘Dear Professor Kāne,
This is Ms Johnson writing to you. I happened to stumble upon these quills in the Artefact Room (which, if you are wondering, I had permission to be in), and I thought I had seen them before on your desk. If they are not yours, I apologise, but from my deep knowledge of artefacts, I know these do not belong in that room.
Have a good day,
Ms Johnson
P.S. I am leaving them here in your office since you are most likely teaching a lesson at the moment. Sorry for snooping.’

Emma was struggling with her studying. She was exhausted, not sleeping well and her mood had been down since it got dark so quickly now. Thankfully it was slowly turning around, but she would be relieved when the days felt a bit longer and sunshine was more plentiful. But that would also mean it was time for the OWL’s, and that was an intimidating thought. She in no way felt prepared for the exams that would mean she would start moving towards a specific career path. It seemed like even at 15 she had no clue what she wanted to do after school, and that panic along with the panic about knowing everything possible from the last 5 years in all of their subjects just did not result in a calm mind.
That was why she had had come to the Library, to hopefully get some studying in. But her focus was shot, and instead she had spent more time following random thoughts that had appeared or doodling then studying.
Tilting her head side to side, she felt her neck stretch, and some of the tension release. Dropping it forward, she then moved it all the way up to see the ceiling, hoping for some more tension release. Instead, she was surprised as she caught sight of a piece of white against the rafters. Getting up out of her seat, she craned her neck, stepping back to try to get a better view. It seemed like there was a roll of parchment stuck to part of the rafter. She looked around, wondering if anyone had seen anything. Curious about what it was, she figured someone’s pet or something had found some parchment and took it to the rafters either to start making a nest or to be mischievous. Heck, she wouldn’t put it out of mind that her own owl, Owlbert, would potentially do the same.
Biting her lip, she tried to determine what best to do and decided this would be the perfect time to practice her Transfiguration instead of her Charms work. Sure, Accio would be easier but Avifors would be more fun. Trying to think of which bird she’d like to transform the parchment into, she thought of all the birds she usually saw in her backyard. Laughing, she recalled the Blue Tits that frequently played and dodged around. Their plumage was beautiful and their antics hilarious. She could use some of that fun today. Settling on the image, she concentrated as she spoke the incantation and completed the wand movement, “Ah-vih-fors.” She joyously laughed as the parchment roll turned into a lovely bird, twittering, and dodging around. Looking around as she heard a hush sound, she blushed a terrible red, waiting for the birds to grow closer to her, before using reparifarge to undo the transfiguration. She kept her voice low to say, “reh-PAR-i-farj.” The birds sadly reverted to the parchment, and she caught them as they floated where birds had previously been.
Uncurling the parchment carefully, she noted it was a note of some sort. She skimmed, not wanting to read someone’s correspondence but hoping to get enough clues or even the person’s name so she could return it. Finally towards the end she noted Kāne. That made it clear who either the note was authored by or written for, at least in her mind, so she let the parchment roll back up, and packed her things, determining that no more studying would be done.
Making her way to the transfiguration professor’s office, she knocked three times, awaiting a response. Receiving none, Emma knocked again. Finally, after several minutes of standing awkwardly outside the door, she figured that Professor Kāne was not there. Deciding that there was nothing else she could do but try sliding it under the door, she pulled a piece of parchment out of her bag along with one of her quills and some ink. Not wanting to take too many liberties, she turned and wrote using the door as a tabletop, a quick note.
Putting the note with the roll of parchment, she squeezed both carefully under the door, hoping that he would see them when he entered. Moving away from his office, she headed towards her common room, determined to cozy up in one of the armchairs with one of her paperbacks.Professor Kāne,
I found this in the library, and noted your name was included. I didn’t see any other indicators, so I hope this was either something you wrote or was intended for you. Unfortunately I’ve seemed to miss you, so I hope you find this when you return.
Best,
Emma Wynn

Aly hadn't actually intended to help Professor Kāne with... well, whatever was going on here in the library. She'd spent the lovely early Tuesday morning in class, and then popped over to the Quidditch pitch for a bit of self-indulgent Seeking practice during a free period; the seventh-year Ravenclaw was just on her way back to her dormitory for a quick bit of freshening up and perhaps an outfit change (into something no less pink - it was Valentine's Day week, after all!) when she overheard giggles coming out of the library as she passed.
Any noise in the library was something to be checked out, for surely that meant something interesting going on (not to say that the books weren't already interesting - the seventeen-year-old did spend quite a lot of time in this, the Hogwarts compendium of tomes and scrolls ancient and new alike). Sure enough, in the library Aly found herself faced with several younger students casting spells all over the place without getting in trouble; she watched one cast the Untransfiguration Spell on something, green eyes drinking it in as the object transformed into some stickers. Mongoose stickers, to be precise.
Now, where had she heard about the noble mongoose recently? Aly's eyes fluttered shut, and she delved back into the recent memories from the last few weeks since returning to Hogwarts from the winter break. She couldn't exactly remember whereabout she had heard of it, but if these were someone's, then, they had clearly been misplaced and... somehow Transfigured into random objects? Well, it didn't seem completely wrong to assume that a Transfigured object might belong to the Transfiguration professor. Maybe these were Professor Kāne's, or, at the very least, he might know to whom they belonged. Best to find some, repair them, and drop them off at his office.
Her curiosity sufficiently piqued, the Ravenclaw crept into the library and started eyeing the bookshelves to see if anything else seemed out of place there. Hmm... at least in this section, it just seemed to be books, books, and more books; pretty standard for a library, if Aly did say so herself. She turned the corner and began to mosey down the next aisle, pulling her wand just in time to spot a small carved statue, of some beautifully chestnut-coloured wood, perhaps, tucked right underneath Great Wizards of the Twentieth Century. Aha! That doesn't seem to belong there. The teenager reached up and pulled it out from under the book, causing the hefty tome to fall over with quite a loud thump; after freezing for a moment to make sure that she wasn't about to come get scolded by the librarian, Aly pulled the tip of her wand in a wide U-shape and whispered, "Reparifarge." Sure enough, the little wooden statuette - of a mongoose, of course, for what else would it have been? - glowed in the white light that emanated from her aspen wandtip, then whirled their way back into a thick pile of stickers that seemed to be stuck together somehow. Well, that explained how they'd all been Transfigured into the same object, but Aly didn't feel like trying to undo a sticking charm at the moment.
Instead, she just tucked the stickers under her arm and ducked back out of the library. Others were coming in, and presumably they would figure out the secrets of the Transfigured objects by themselves. For now, she had to drop these off at Professor Kāne's office with haste if she wanted to be able to change before her next class - and not be late to it, of course.

𝕵ulia was bored. There was simply nothing to do, which was ironic since there was a lot going on at the moment. Some were taking a stroll in the cool breeze which signaled the arrival of spring, some were doing homework or practicing spells, while some were with their friends doing haven knows what. While Julia was just bored. Despite the abundance of activities she felt as though something fun was missing. She also got a feeling, that a lot of fun was about to happen, but right now, nothing happened. She excused herself from her friends and went back into the castle. Despite being at Hogwarts almost 8 months now, she stilled marveled at the sight of the castle. The intricate architecture, magical corridors, and stunning interior, were pulling her eyes in every direction, shouting, LOOK AT ME! Julia took deep breath, then decided to go to her one and only place of peace. The Library. The one place where she felt truly happy and at rest. A place where she could really be her. Somewhere where she allowed herself to be ripped from this world, and be carried away to another. With what happened with her cousins and grandpa, an escape seemed necessary. She continued walking, wondering what adventures lied ahead.
● ● ● ● ● Julia smiled as her body sank into the familiar feel of the library. Her feet immediately guided her to the History section as if they knew exactly what Julia needed. On days like this, she preferred realistic books, which reminded her how inconsistent life was. How cruel or rewarding it was. She walked up the shelf, searching for a book to read. Her hands brushed against the spines of books as she skimmed the titles, her brain immediately objecting or inviting the thought of reading it. She kept moving until she saw an empty spot with an object. Julia leaned in closer and saw, was that a... rubber duck? She stared at it confused, until she remembered them in the books she'd read about muggles. If she wasn't wrong, when you squeeze the rubber duck it made a Squeak! noise. Her interest was officially piqued, so she decided to try it out, but when she held the duck, it felt all wrong, it was hard and wood-like, and most definitely didn't make a sound. It looked liked to Julia, like a bad piece of transfiguration. She decided to test out her theory. She grabbed the object and went to a free table in the Library. Julia set the duck down and racked her brains for the un-tra sfiguration spell. Reflip? No…… Repi- it was Repi something. She thought harder and finally got it. Reparifarge! Thats it! It was Repifarge! Time to try it. She took a deep breath and focused on the object, then whispered "Reparifarge". Julia waited. Nothing happened. Feeling a bit crestfallen, she wondered if it wasn't transfigured and was just some random artwork. But no, she didn't thin kso. It looked too much like a badly transfigured object. She took a deep breath again, wearing a determined expression. She could do this. She put all her concentration onto the spell and object, and whispered once more, "Reparifarge". For a second there, Julia thought it failed again but slowly the duck started changing shape into what looked like… Mongoose Heart Stickers? That was new. But then again, what wasn't. What was she going to do with these? She checked her watch. Only 15 minutes till her next lesson. She had to choose fast. Julia decided that since it was related to transfiguration, it was best she leave it on Professor Kãne's desk. She hastily grabbed a small piece of parchment and wrote a quick note. Dear Professor Kãne, I am leaving these stickers here, as I found them in the library shelves transfigured as a rubber duck. I used repifarge to un-transfigure them, and decided to hand them over to you. Your student, Julia Evans She ran to the professor's office, and placed the note and stickers on his desk, then started making her way to charms, feeling satisfied with her day's fun. |

Harumi decided to go to the library and read a bit, usual her, but apparently she spent too much time in the library lately that she didn't notice it was almost valentine's day until this morning, did that change anything? No, not exactly, in Harumi's opinion valentine's day is not relevant to her, at least yet, after all she was only 11 and certainly not dating or anything, she's still too young, that's what she always thought, valentine's day is for older and more mature people, but sometimes she can't help but wonder, will a prince charming come save me like cinderella one day? But then she mentally slaps herself, "No! You don't need a prince charming! You'll be your own saviour, you can be!" she thinks as she looks around the library for an interesting book.

Note
----That's when she notices what seems to be an artifact protected inside a vitrine, the artifacts look like "quills?" she thinks as she takes a closer look, what are quills doing here? Those particular ones reminded her of professor Kāne's, they are always with him, "could the professor have lost them?" she wonders, maybe she ought to give them back, she wonders if this could be mistaken for stealing, she looks around and then takes out her wand, "why does it feel like I'm a thief?!" she thinks, as she casts the glass to Sand spell on the vitrine's glass "Quarzicum!" the glass instantly dissolves into sand, she takes out the quills then reverses the spell again, nobody wants so much sand laying around in the library.
----Harumi then starts looking through the books to find one to borrow, she planned to borrow a book then go to professor Kāne's office to return the quills, she found an interesting potions book and decided to borrow it, she was about to leave when she saw something curious, multiple feathers scattered on a desk, Harumi wondered if they're even actually feathers, she looks right, then looks left, then back at the feathers and takes out her wand "Reparifarge!" the feathers return to their original form as stickers, mongoose heart stickers specifically, Harumi wonders if they're also professor Kāne's, well, she'll deliver them with the quills, if they are not his, he probably knows whose they're.
----And that's how Harumi ended up going to Professor Kāne's office to deliver the quills and stickers, "the stickers must be for valentine's day, the professor must really love his wife" she thinks as she looks at a cute mongoose sticker, when she arrives at the office door, she knocks, no answer, she opens the door and enters, there's nobody inside, she leaves the things on the desk with a note saying "I found those in the library, I believe they're yours, professor." she was about to sign with her name but she decided against it, she doesn't really like it when teachers memorise her.
----Harumi leaves professor Kāne's office to go read somewhere quiet, however her mind definitely wasn't quiet, she knew there'll probably be some events on valentine's day and she wondered if it'll be fun, who knows, maybe she'll join.

Tatiana knew that Valentine's was inching closer and closer by the day; but of course, as the ever love-stubborn little girl she was, she did not care for such a time wasting event. But being as insufferable as she was, she wouldn't pass down the population to prove herself to be helpful to the professors. And when she had heard that Professor Kāne had needed help with something, she did not, of course, hesitate to march into the library with pride.
Not knowing what exactly Professor Kāne wanted her to recover, she had just found herself drifting off into the shelves, curiosity fueling her legs to work. Then, when in just a split-second that she probably wouldn't notice, she saw an odd little plant—a small clipping of the Alihotsy, to be exact—hidden amongst the books about dragon eggs. She cautiously extracted the plant from its hiding spot, for she knew the effects of the plant to be quite lasting, or otherwise uncontrollable.
Placing it in a nearby table, the plant's leaves had specks of red that seemed to imitate blood, Tatiana felt a small shiver down her spine as she raised her wand. “Reparifarge,” she said, her voice low but clear, her wand performing a counterclockwise movement. The Untransfiguration spell had done its part splendidly as in an instant, the plant had returned back into its original form: a small stack fo mongoose love stickers.
Tatiana's lips curled into a thin line.
Gulping down her pride, she carried the stack of stickers towards the Transfiguration teacher's office, which was not that far from the library, before her attention got stolen by a slightly ajar door that revealed itself to be the artifact room. But then again, who would want to enter the artifact room? It had nothing but a useless bunch of trinkets that only a fool would find interesting.
But of course, ever the fool she was, Tatiana made her way to the artifact room, stuffing the disgusting mongoose stickers in her pockets. When she entered, the room had looked the same as before, well, the same as she'd first entered the room, anyways, but that was like, ages ago. Even though she seemed that nothing has changed, the girl still didn't leave the room but instead wandered inside of it, then, something caught her attention. On what seemed like a new display installation sat a familiar set of quills. Tatiana racked her brains trying to remember why the quills looked so familiar, then she remembered, those were the same quills that had sat in Professor Kāne's desk in his office, of course!
Looking around to check if anyone was there, she tiptoed her way to the display case like some kind of robber, which she wasn't since she was just returning something that didn't exactly belong there either. But again she raised her wand, this time, casting a different spell. “Quarzicum!”, her wand pointed to the case, and the glass fell into sand instantly, in which Tatiana grabbed the quills and stuffed them into her pockets greedily before turning back the sand into glass with a quick “Reparifarge!”, her wand imitating the same counterclockwise movement she had done when turning the plant back into stickers earlier.
Feeling proud of herself, she left the artifact room, being careful to close the door fully as to possibly not attract others to the room. Tatiana made her way to he moving staircases and rode at least four flights of stairs before reaching the fifth floor, where the professor's study was. Opening the door quietly, in fear that the professor might be inside, which he was hopefully not, she made her way to the professor's desk and started to fish out all her found items from her pockets, then scribbled a note for the professor to read with a, hopefully, scrap piece of paper in the professor's desk and a quill she often carried for numerous reasons, before exiting.
Below is the note:ReducioDear Professor Kāne,
On your desk are the stickers and quills that you have lost in the library, hopefully these are in fact yours or else I have made nothing but a fool out of myself. But if these aren't yours, please don't hesitate to make your way down to the basement and deposit them to me, I am in dire need for quills right now.
Kind Regards,
Tatiana Contraire
P.S. do try to not include the stickers, I do not like the thought of celebrating Valentine'sWC: 744 w/ note, 657 w/o note

Quietly humming, Kaitlyn skipped into the library, her movements careful and precise. There was nothing specifically special about today … it was just a normal Tuesday in February. Yet, she had plenty of energy. But who was she to complain? She hated being tired and sluggish. So, this would definitely work for her! Perhaps it could even give her a pep in her step as she completed her regular prefect rounds?
For now, the young Slytherin wanted to look for a Herbology book. Ever since she first saw a chomping cabbage … and frankly, her mind had no idea how to square that idea against her prior knowledge … she had to admit … they were hard to keep from popping back up in her mind. Sure, those were baby cabbages. And yet … so, so cute! Dangerous, sure. But … still cute. Her sketchpad had a few doodles of the lovely cabbages. Chomping away and everything. They looked like they needed a hug … although she was frankly not brave enough yet to even attempt that. Maybe one day … when she learned how to interact with them safely.
The witch skipped to the Herbology section. As she searched through the books to see where she could find more information about hungry cabbages, Kaitlyn spotted something amiss out of the corner of her eye. No, no, not with another student. Rather … there was something … Oh! Something was up by the rafters … it looked like the color of parchment … wait. Why would there be a piece of parchment so high up?
With a small frown, Kaitlyn slid her wand out from behind her ear. She tapped it against her thigh a few times, thinking of a good spell to use. Accio could work … but, ah, where was the fun in that? Sure, she was a prefect … but that didn’t mean that she had to do everything by the book. She wasn’t against fun … rather, she wanted to promote safety first and foremost. Besides, maybe this parchment was important? Or someone was being bullied? She, frankly, hated bullying.
Waving her wand, Kaitlyn whispered, “Avifors.” She watched, gleefully, as the parchment transfigured into a bird. Her eyes tracked its movements, wanting to make sure she didn’t lose sight of a potentially important item. Once it was close enough by, she figured it would be safe to return it to its original form. “Reparifarge.” With another wave of her wand … and her initial thought turned out to be accurate. It was a piece of parchment!
Her eyes danced delicately through the words on the page … looking for a potential owner, yet respectful of any personal details. Kaitlyn came across Professor Kāne’s name and figured that he would be her best bet to return the parchment to. With a quick glance around, she giggled quietly. ‘Erm … wait … let me just … ah, I think returning this can wait a few extra minutes … I kind of wanted a book …’
Her search paid off after a few extra moments of searching, after Kaitlyn retrieved the parchment. Dangerous Magical Flora. A grin danced on her lips as she rushed to check out the book.
Kaitlyn calmly skipped to the Transfiguration classroom, her heels tapping against the ground as she moved. She knocked once … twice … thrice … to no answer. Strange … very strange indeed. She quickly shrugged and took out a sheet of parchment from her bag and a quill. She wrote a small note in script.
With a smile, she slid the parchment and her note under the door to the classroom. Kaitlyn extracted Dangerous Magical Flora from her bag, holding it tight to her chest. Now, she just needed to find a calm space to study this book …Hi Professor,
I found this in the library up by the rafters. As your name is on it, I figured it is best to return it to you.

XXXXX𝓗aving a free period didn't always mean that he had free time, at least not the way Mylo saw it. They could always use the time to practice their spells, finish off their homework or start preparing for future classes, a free period was just another way of saying self-study hour.
Although this time Mylo had decided that helping someone else could also fit within the perimeters of a self-study hour, as they had been made aware of the fact that professor Kāne had lost some important things and had asked for help to try and get them back. Which is why Mylo found himself in the same spot he'd usually find himself during these hours but for different reasons.
Mentally going over the list they had seen Mylo thought about the things they had to keep an eye out for, some stickers, a quill and a piece of parchment. Three things that wouldn't likely be too easy to find as all three were staples in the library, not that this was going to stop Mylo though as he did like a bit of a challenge. Looking at the time though he decided that only one of the three would have to do, as even though he would prefer to find all three Mylo also really did have schoolwork they had to get done.
Wandering past the bookshelves it took quite a bit of effort to stay on task and not get distracted by interesting titles he wanted to remove from their spot and add to his ever growing pile of books. That was at least until after a while one book caught his eye, as it didn't in the slightest look like it belonged among the rest.
It seemed like it was made of stickers, that had just been formed to resemble a book, albeit badly. Taking it off the shelf Mylo realised these looked like the stickers professor Kāne had described losing, this must be it!
Removing their wand from their robe Mylo set the 'book' down on the ground, pointed their wand at it and cast reparifarge, watching as it returned to it's previous form of mongoose heart stickers.
Happy that they had managed to get at least one of the items Mylo carefully tucked them into their bag, making sure that they wouldn't get damaged, ready for him to return them to the professor after his study session.
Once they had finished Mylo quickly made their way to the professors office, having put the stickers in a small envelope with a note on it.
Ready to be returned to their rightful owner and leaving Mylo happy to have been of help.Hi professor, I heard you had lost these stickers. I hope these are the right ones.

He had no intention of searching for them. Really, he didn’t. Upon hearing that one of the objects had been found in the library however, he figured it could not hurt to have a look around. His performance in transfiguration could at best be described as lacking, so it could not possibly hurt to earn some good graze.
Arriving at the library he found the space just as boring and stuffed as every other day. He let out an involuntary groan as he walked among the many shelves, looking both high and low. He had really given up his precious spare time for this. Time he was not even sure would come to good use. Still, his interest was piqued. At one point he stepped back to get a better angle for looking at the higher shelves. He could barely reach up there, so the point of looking seemed to be just silly. He rolled his eyes. It was true that he wanted to be useful, but what point was there when he was too short to possibly do anything? His attention moved to some of the bigger tomes on the lower shelves. Perhaps he could stack them and climb on top? The Librarian was unlikely to be happy with that, but he saw little choice.
Bending down, he started pulling out a few books and stacked them in a pile. As he was about to reach for yet another, something caught his attention. Reaching in he pulled the object out to study it. It seemed to be a small box of some kind, no bigger than fitting in the palm of his hand. It looked to be made out of wood, probably spruce. He let a finger trace over the intricate swirling pattern covering the lid. It did not feel like wood. Where he should have felt the familiar texture he felt only smooth, cold stone. He furrowed his brows as he thought about it. This was strange. Not only the look and texture, but why would it be hidden behind the books? If he had stumbled upon someones secret stash of something it was not a very good spot. The dorm was a much better place to hide things in his opinion. Much closer too, because who would voluntarily go to the library?
Ignoring the fact that he had done just that today, he lifted the lid to have a peek. Nothing. The box was as empty as it could possibly get. As he pondered what the best choice of action was, he looked around the room. This could very well be something that had been transformed in some way. Maybe even what he was on the hunt for! If it turned out not to be he could just put the box back where he found it. No harm done. He nodded as he placed the box down in the middle of the floor and stepped back. There was no knowing what size a possible original object could have been. If it was a large difference in size he was unlikely to succeed, but he shrugged the thought off. Psyching himself out before he even tried would be far from helpful.
He hesitated a moment before determination emerged on his face. He pulled his wand out and focused in on the object. «Reparifarge!» He spoke the word as clear as he could manage as he moved his wand in the manner he could remember. For a split second nothing happened. Just long enough for disappointment to arrive. Then the box seemed to vibrate as it deflated and transformed into a stack of something. Putting his wand away, Max curiously stepped closer. They were stickers. About five or so. All hearts and varying shades of red to pink. He picked them up and flipped through them with a bit of a smirk. With them all being mongoose themed they were unmistakable.
Placing the stickers in a pocket, he quickly cleared up the stack of books he had dragged out. There. No one could say he was not helpful! Shoving his hands into his pockets he moved to the exit and toward the Transfiguration classroom to return the lost items. Maybe it was a good thing after all, that he came looking.
