Before this day Henry had told Cash that he will organize unofficial duels. The event itself did not surprise the young Ironwoods. Students at Hogwarts often time used their free time to hone their skills (for those who are Duelist) or for those who wanted to know whether they had the skill or not (like Cash themselves).
The green eyes then asked the other boy who will act as the overseeing referee for the event that Henry organized. He told them that the other will be Lucia Fox, Rose Moon, and himself. Then comes the surprise. Henry asked Cash to be one of the unofficial dueling referees. Cash asked the blue-eyed boy whether he was sure about his decision or not.
Cash was not a duelist and they felt a bit inadequate compared to the other three since the other three are Duelists for their respective houses but Cash will do their best. Henry then gave Cash the name of the duelist for the team that they will manage. The young socialite then stepped onto the piste. This is the first time that they will act as one of the oversee referee for a duel.
The green eyes then clapped their hands together. "Alright!,"They said. "Bienvenido a hoy duelo"They spoke in their mother tongue which is Spanish. Then Cash remember not all Hogwarts students spoke the language. "That means welcome to today's dueling"They translated for the others. "Now... let's get into the business, shall we?"Cash continued.
"Delilah Stewart, Liana Kerr, Lucia Fox, and Matthew Gray please take your places"Cash stated. The Beater then waited for the four participants to stand on each side of the piste. Once four of them stand at their respective sides, Cash then went over the dueling mechanics really quickly and thoroughly.
"If you have any questions, you can just ask me"They uttered. Cash's green eyes bounced from one person to another. Delilah is an experience fifth-year duelist so does Lucia Fox though the latter is in her third year. Their respective partners - Liana and Matthew - both are first years. Overall it is a balanced pairing
"If no one had any questions, let's get started then"Cash said. "On your Mark, Ready, Set.. Duel!"The third-year make a slicing motion with their hand signaling the duel to commence.

Lucia may not have been duelling herself yet today, but she still felt put of breath. She'd had to moderate a duel, after all, which she'd discovered was just as stressful as actually partaking in one. After getting herself some lunch, Lucia returned to the Duelling Club just in time for the afternoon slot to begin - which meant it was time for her to begin... Lucia didn't know what. Beating unaccomplished non-duellists? Teaching said unaccomplished non-duellists how to duel? Maybe both - after all, duelling was a team sport. Lucia's partner had never duelled before, as had one of their opponents, although the other was (Lucia winced even to think of it) a fifth year. Or was it fourth? Lucia was losing track. Most of her brain was still stuck on the events of the morning.
Lucia have a little wave to @Cassandra Ironwoods, who had either emerged victorious from their duel this morning or been healed just in time to get here, when taking her place on the stage. Lucia had been the one to moderate Cash's duel earlier, and now the Slytherin was returning the favour. Lucia was just pleased that the person in charge of her duel wasn't @Rose Moon, whom she was sure would take every opportunity to accuse her of cheating whenever she got a spell right, just like she had after they'd faced off against each other in an official duel in their second year. But, thankfully, that was not to be, because Rose was busy moderating someone else's duel, and had either not hung around that morning or just not spoken to Lucia (which was probably best for everyone involved).
Lucia was shaken back into reality by Cash, who clapped their hands together and said... something? "Um." But then Cash seemed to pick up on their temporary wards' confusion and translated for them, which relieved Lucia if nothing else.
The Hufflepuff had been planning to maybe give her partner - @Matthew Gray, that was his name - a quick run-down of some basic duelling tactics or something like that, but she just didn't have time. Almost as soon as both pairs had gotten to the correct end of the stage, Cash began the duel, making Lucia jump. "Um." She looked over at her partner. "Just... follow my lead!" She made to begin, but then paused and, with a frown, looked towards Matthew again. "Hey, you're not related to Earl, are you?"

@Liana Kerr | @Lucia Fox | @Matthew Gray[font=times new roman]Delilah wasn't worried about this duel, she had done this a fair few times before, and won a fair few of them. She felt a bit bad for applying to join this considering how she was an experienced duellist, and the oldest member of the duel other than Del was only a third year, she nodded over to Liana, having strategised with her as soon as she found out she would be her partner. "We can do this. Don't worry." In an attempt to reassure her, whether it actually worked was maybe questionable but del certainly tried.
Duelling was one of dels favourite things since she had started it roughly a year ago, just in an attempt to reassure her granny that she was able to do things by herself since her granny health had decreased significantly as of recently. Thankfully, her granny was still generally okay, but it wasn't necessarily getting better. She tried not to think about it, sorting out her feelings wasn't her strong suit, but duelling was an interesting hobby of hers, considering how much harder she has to try to learn spells, she has always struggled with that.
But, back on the duel, it was time to fight.

October was proving to be extremely eventful for Liana, duelling-wise - starting off with Ming's Wargames, then the Dodge Spell game by S.W.A.G. club, and now Battle of Wits, all in the first third of the month. She was probably getting enough practice to last her until Christmas. So far the main lessons the first year had taken from these activities were that she needed to work on her accuracy and agility. Well, she would do her best today, so as not to disappoint her partner. Delilah, as Liana found out after the game a couple of days ago, was something of a duelling legend at the school. The redhead felt extremely honoured to be paired up with her. And rather anxious, since if they somehow lost, it would not be the experienced Ravenclaw's fault.
''I'm not worried,'' she lied in response to her partner's encouraging words, giving her a faint smile. ''We're sure to win.'' And they were, right? Judging from Matt's performance in Wargames, his spellcasting was an absolute wildcard. He could succeed splendidly, barely graze the target, or have the spell backfire badly, all within the same minute. He was still good, for the most part, and she actually suspected he was failing on purpose. Could she take him in an one-on-one battle? Likely. She certainly knew more spells, at least, and seemed to inflict more damage on a successful hit.
''Good luck, Matt,'' the girl called out to her housemate, quietly hoping that his luck wasn't too good. Her eyes wandered over to Lucia then; she was curious to see how the older girl would perform. While Liana knew the spellcasting capabilities of Delilah, Matthew and even Cassandra, the Hufflepuff girl was a mystery. Was she also a duellist? Was she good? Surely not better than the fifth-year Delilah Stewart. Well, it would be revealed soon enough.
The first-year readied herself for the arcane combat that was abut to ensue.

As the green eyes give the go signal, spells flew left and right. It proves that Deliah did not come to play. Like one of Cash's favorite movies, it seems Delilah embodies 'strike hard, strike first, no mercy' at Lucia. The fifth-year Duelist cast the Knockback Jinxed, a spell that is often used as an opening spell. Lucia did not have the time to dodge it as the force of the spell knocked right on her chest quite hard.
But Delilah's stride did not stop at Lucia alone. The red spark that emitted from her wand split into two and also targeted another first-year. Matthew Gray. Call it sheer luck or maybe Matthewalready anticipated that he could be the target of Delilah too. When he saw the red spark come his way; he dodged it, and thus Delilah missed her target.
It seems the sentient sorting hat is always right when it places the young first-year, Liana Kerr in Slytherin House. Liana definitely shows how one serpent ambition is in a form of her spellcasting. Following Delilah's footsteps, the young Defense Against the Dark Arts prodigy also used Knockback Jinx on her opponent.
One Flipendo after another, this time her spell hits Lucia on her stomach. The duo did not give Lucia time to breathe at all. The green eyes tried not to wince from how hard both of the attacks that Lucia received. It seems getting double Knockback Jinxes felt like how you receive a blow from incoming Bludger or so what Cash seems to see.
Though Lucia was bruised and battered (the Cuban descendant will make sure to check Lucia after the game if she needs to go to the hospital wing or not), it did not stop her to cast her spell. Unlike Delilah - Liana duo, the Oxford native chose a different approach. Hoping to disarm Delilah's wand from her hand, Lucia chose to cast Expelliarmus on her opponent.
At first, it looks like Lucia might get what she aimed for. But before her spell could hit Delilah's wand, the season Ravenclaw Duelist makes a sidestep to the side on the last minute before the spell hits her. Making Lucia spell miss her target only by the slightest. "That is so close, Luce!"The Beater said to the Badger. "And you,"Cash pointed to Delilah. "That was one hell of a suspense"The uttered.

"Ow." Lucia winced as she was hit not once, but twice, and by the same spell each time. Her disarming charm, which she now realised was quite tame compared to the aggressive tactics which the other pair was employing, whizzed happily past the Ravenclaw, who neatly stepped out of the way. Things were not going well, Lucia decided grimly as she took a breather for a moment. She was fairly sure she'd never had such a bad start to a duel. For the moment, the Hufflepuff was just glad that this was unofficial. She had nothing but her pride to lose. Except, her pride was the one thing which Ebony had always taught her not to lose. Yeah, this definitely wasn't going well.
Lucia glanced over at her partner, who was, apparently, just standing there. "You okay?" Maybe he'd had an attack of nerves like Earl had during the first match he and Lucia had played together, maybe he'd decided duelling wasn't for him after all, maybe he just hadn't turned up and Lucia was talking to herself. Whatever way, he hadn't done anything and Lucia just hoped he'd do something next round. They were going to have their work cut out.

Her spell hit the target! Liana felt the familiar surge of satisfied pride rising in her chest, and did her best to suppress it. So far her initial cast was successful in every competitive event she'd entered; she knew by now that it didn't mean all that much. She could very well have a backfiring spell next, especially if she let herself be distracted by her lucky shot. The girl maintained a serious expression, forbidding her lips from curling up into a smile. Time for gloating would come later, if she left this battle conscious.
Delilah had landed a much more powerful spell as well, and dodged a Disarming Charm that had been sent her way at the same time. Her superior skill and experience were evident. The redhead was determined to learn as much as she could from this duel, fighting side by side with one of the best Ravenclaw duellists.
Matthew, on the other hand, showed no determination to achieve something in the competition. He missed the first opportunity to cast his spell, which made Liana wonder if he'd entered this event only to perform as badly as he could, so anyone who'd seen him in action during Wargames would think it had truly been but a fluke. Which was rather unfair to his partner.
''Now is not the time to sleep, Matt,'' she called out. It may have been detrimental to her own victory, but then again, winning would not be satisfactory at all if one of the opponents simply gave up.

@Liana Kerr | @Lucia Fox | @Matthew Gray[font=times new roman]This was already going pretty well, Delilah dodged a spell towards her as she split hers towards her 2 opponents, unfortunately, 1 missed, but the other hit bang on her target as it should. She smiled as her teammate hit her target as well. It was satisfying duelling with somebody less experienced than herself, she felt like a teacher almost.
Teaching was always something that interested the ravenclaw, of course her dream was now to be a healer, but maybe once she got older she would come and be a teacher, or maybe a librarian somewhere. She used to want to be a librarian, before she found out about the world of magic, but now she felt like she wouldn't be able to live without it. It made her want to strive for a profession in the magical world.
It almost scared her, she was only a couple years away from graduation, something about that seemed so odd to her. She was doing her Ordinary Wizarding Levels this year, she certainly would be spending a lot of time in the library soon enough. As if she didn't spend enough time in there already. It was almost a surprise that the librarian wasn't sick of seeing her almost every day.

Before the next round rolled in, Cash observed both sides like the last round, Matthew Gray decided to just stand still beside Lucia. Cash sighed at that. The young socialite decides to walk towards Lucia's end of the piste. When Cash stood in front of Matthew, they put one of their hand on Matthew's shoulder.
"I am sorry, mate but you have been disqualified,"They told the young Slytherin. Cash waited until Matthew get off of the platform and turned towards the spectator. Their eyes scanned the room. "If anyone wants to prove themselves that they are more than just your average student, this is your time to shine"The announced.
With bated breath, Cash waited for anyone to raise their hand. If no one raised theirs, Cash had no other choice to end the duel that they oversee soon than anyone expected. The young Ironwoods were about to call it a day until a hand was raised among the spectator. Cash smiles at the bespectacled boy as a way to encourage him.
The Beater meets the boy before. Once Hui Ming up on the stage, Cash introduced him to Lucia. "Luce, this is Hui Ming, your new partner"Cash uttered to the Badger. "And Ming, this is Lucia Fox"They said to Ming. Cash did not know whether Lucia and Ming had met each other before or not.
After the formalities are already out of the way, it is time to continue the battle. Just as in the last round, Delilah and Liana decided to use the same approach. Are their strategies eliminated their opponent one by one? Only time can tell but just like the last time, Delilah's Knockback Jinx hit Lucia fair and square.
There will be bruised here and there on Lucia's when this whole battle was over. Thanks, Merlin for the Magical remedies. If not, the bruises on Lucia's will be there for quite some time. Hot on her trail and following Delilah's steps, Liana was not too far behind her. With a quick wand movement and accompanied with the pronunciation of the Knockback Jinx, Liana sling her spell at Lucia.
Hoping her aim is true but Lucia managed to evade the red spark making a contact anywhere on her body. Perhaps Lucia learn from her mistake from the previous round when she got double Knockback Jinxes from Delilah and Liana. Well, for a brief moment anyway. It is now Lucia's turn. Using the same spell as the last round at Delilah, Lucia casted the Disarming spell on her.
The second time is the charm, perhaps? Well, sadly to say it was not the case. Just like last time, Delilah showed her prowess in the field she knows the best as the fourth year easily dodge Lucia attempt on her. Better luck next time, Luce!
