The spell misses
With the race coming down to the wire, racers seem to either focus in on remounting their brooms or simply darting down the track as quickly as they can. The only exception is found in Ari shooting off another spell towards June. The Slytherin captain does well to see the attack coming, just dodging out of the path of the Flipendo as she continues on.

With little mind for safety this late in the race, both teams send racers shooting down the track. The Cockatrice continues to prove itself a veritable force upon unsuspecting racers, gaze and flames once again catching those unlucky few. The following forest continues to take its toll on the racers, a natural pinball machine of pain as the students bounce off of trunks time and time again. Stoppable forces meet immovable objects, painfully.

With the end in sight for the 7th year Ravenclaw, Bloom darts forward towards the last obstacle standing in her way of one last victory. Despite hardships of the match still weighing her down, she is able to bob and weave through the tangle of vines and emerges victorious. "And that's all, folks! Bloom has passed the finish line and Ravenclaw emerges the victor!"

Colin got back on his broom and had no sooner kicked off the ground --- again --- that he heard the cheering from up ahead. For a brief moment only he held out a last hope. But the cheers were from the Ravenclaw fans.

Another race, another ignominious defeat.

He was bleeding. Again. His head was throbbing and his arms and legs ached and he knew he'd broken some ribs or something inside. As quickly as he could, Colin made straight for the nearest healer. For once he didn't want to commiserate with his team mates or even see anyone after the race.

Colin loped away from the place of defeat as fast as his legs could carry him.
