Mahlioz had a mini flashback to her first ever duel, back in November. She had been the first aimed at and the first to go unconscious. Rather ironic, was it not, that at this point both of their teammates had gotten hit and they were unscathed? Not that their teammates getting hit was any kind of good news, but they couldn't not feel a little bit cheerful about the fact.

It seemed she was back into the usual 'everyone evades my spells' again, though it didn't pierce her cheer about the great expelliarmus from last time. Thankfully, both Leveret and Villa's spells flew true, and brought the team closer to victory. Now to keep it going.

It wasn't that surprising when three spells were cast on her while Sere was looking for her wand. She would also do the same thing if she saw a duellist who looked exhausted, busy with herself instead of focusing on the duel. How could I become this useless? Sere looked at Siobhan who cast another spell well. "Seems like this is my only luck today : getting paired with her." Sere's mouth was murmuring, her eyes were darting here and there as if looking for something, her palm is holding her stomach which got hurt from the Flipendo's struck, and her legs were moving in a kind of dance that she didn't even know before.

Pathetic. So pathetic.

Yet again, she was targeted by the lions. Well at least by one of them, the other was looking for her wand which was previously knocked out of her hands by Evethisawe in the round before. The young Slytherin was getting more and more annoyed that she was getting all the spells of the opposing side. 'These little cats won't stop coming huh?' she scoffed. Ara thought a bit and came to a small realization. Though she was the one targeted, she knew she couldn't show any falter on her face. Ara smirked, 'Come and get me you two'.

Siobhan could feel the frustration radiating off her still conscious teammate as she was hit once- twice withrh two offensive spells as she searched for her wand. It scared herself into a reproach as she noticed the vipers narrowing in on her. This was the ine and only time she was thankful that her older brothers had chosen “tag” as their game of choice with her growing up. It allowed her to learn and predict movement better than most. But even still, she was a pacifist and these offensive spells were wearing her out.

Not to mention she was quite literally the only non-sitting duck. She crossed her heart internally as she began to gather her thoughts and make her next move

Jessamine was just beginning to think ‘that’s more like it’ until this bout of spells were released. Things were really getting exciting, but the duel had almost reached a stand-still as not much action occurred over the last few seconds. Mahlioz and Siobhan sent two more Flipendos across the piste, but neither of them were able to hit their targets. Sere would expertly twirl out of the way of Mahlioz’s cast just as her dance came to a grand finale. In turn, the lion made it through her last push along the stage and her wand was now safely in her palms again. Siobhan, who’d been having an excellent duel on an individual level, would find that her luck had somehow ran out. Though, nothing could truly be done as Ara had chosen to amp up her dodging which saved her from being hit this time around. Jessamine thought that the snake must have been feeling some kind of relief since she wouldn’t have to deal with the after-effects of any spells for a short while. And of course, Avery would continue his dominance, sending more wind towards Sere. Even though her spellcasting tool was back with her, the lion would now have to contend with the gales affecting her sight.

It is so clear that all the spells are aimed at her since several rounds ago. This is an impressive achievement for Sere to see how she survived more than half of the duel, even though at this point she could feel that her condition is quite worrying.

Despite being bombarded by various types of spells, Sere was still able to dodge at least one spell in every round, and this round too. One thing that pretty annoying is... Why is the male Vipers just showed his fang now? Sere's initial assumption seemed to be deceiving herself.

I have to focus! She raised her wand, trying her best to survive on the next round.

Siobhan swore loudly under her breath but thankfully in her native tongue to avoid a potential detention. Her luck had been omnipetent up until this point and she was frazzled that the last round had done nothing to their opponents.

Sere had been hit yet again- this time with a windy spell and seemed to also be internally struggling with her performance. However Siobhan could see why the sorting hat had placed her partner in their house, she was roaring with a look of determination to withstand whatever it was that the Vipers would send her way. Siobhan appreciated that- She would have been beside herself with contempt if she had been placed on a team with no desire to win.

Not that winning was everything, but wanting to was. If they came out of this duel as losers- so be it. It wasn't the end of the world. But if they could end the year with a majorly successful win against second years? Amazing- Exhilerating even.

Honestly by this point Mahlioz had gotten used to the fact that somehow people who were worse at dodging than she was at aiming managed to evade everything she sent at them. It was highly annoying. But Leveret's spell landed - that ventus seemed to be a favorite of his - and Villa, though not casting, did dodge an incoming spell. They were doing alright. This was going good. Just because the lion on the other side of the piste had her wand back, didn't mean they were doomed.
