Siobhan kept her face cool as she felt that surge of her lion pride inside well up due to the second well placed hit on their targets. She made sure to remain humble with her facial expressions and her body language so as not to gain a cocky attitude and mess up the good karma she had at the moment.

She looked over to Sere who seemed to be frustrated that her spell at missed but she knew that her teammate was trying her best. After all this at the end of the day was just a fun game and nobody was partaking solely to conjure ill will between houses.

She observed the affected opponents and pondered what she would cast- She didn’t have many spells in her repertoire and she knew that it was time for her to be resourceful.

Jessamine pitied the first year lions. Going up against three upperclassmen was no easy feat and their lifeline in the third year had been diminished almost immediately. Their strategy for this round seemed to be tossing damage dealing spells at a single target. Maybe she was too inexperienced, but Jessamine honestly couldn’t see what they could do differently. Said target was still swinging around the stage, dancing to her heart’s content, but her face painted a different, much more pissed off picture. As Ara’s legs slowed down, the snake would sense fire and more jiving coming her way. That, or the snake was taking the necessary precautions. Whatever Ara’s reason for dodging was, it partially paid off. Sere was eager to make the snake dance again, but Ara was able to avoid her spell. As she dodged, though, the snake would find herself in the path of Siobhan’s Incendio. Flames would burst forth from the lion’s wand, hitting the snake but failing to catch fire.

The snakes had decided to use a much different tactic and Jessamine was angry that she didn’t have a pen ready to scribble this down in case she was ever in a duel herself. Mahlioz sent a Disarming Charm towards Sere. It caught the lion on her wrist and she would feel her wand slip away, tumbling a great distance from her and her fellow first year. It wouldn’t have been that bad. All the lion needed to do was run after it while avoiding the spells that would potentially come her way. Avery couldn’t have that. His Ventus was wonderfully executed and Jessamine thought that a spell like that deserved to be split. But Siobhan wouldn’t need to worry as the strong blast of wind only targeted Sere. The lion’s eyes and limbs would be buffeted by the strength of Avery’s spell, making it all the more harder to see if her enemies were casting at her. As unpracticed as Jessamine was in a duel, even she could see that Sere was in a rough spot.

A Tarantallegra came out from the tip of Sere's wand, which then brought back an annoyed snort from the Gryffindor girl. Once again her spell is missed, but this time her bad luck doesn't stop here. A Wind Jinx that she had heard several times came out from her previous teammate in the Winter Games duel now caused a strong wind blast towards her. Hitting right on the spot.

Sere tried to grip her wand tightly, but then it slipped from her hand and thrown somewhere away. She knows that this is not because of the wind effect from Ventus. "Ah... Expelliarmus." Sere exhaled tiredly, "What a hassle."

It was true that this was a rather unfair match, considering they were three second years against two itty firsties. A voice at the back of Mahlioz's head was telling them to feel bad, but another few voices drowned it out. After all, they had had a third year with them at first. And they'd chosen to become duellists as first years. Sure, if Mahlioz had had the chance, she probably would have wanted to do the same, but she was only able to join in second year. So. They were lucky, by anyone's standards.

Well, perhaps lucky wasn't the right word for it. Mahlioz's expelliarmus worked wonders, to which they grinned, and Leveret also managed a magnificent ventus that sent a great gust of wind into the same Gryffindor Mahlioz had aimed at. Poor girl. The second year allowed themselves a moment of sympathetic guilt before getting their head back in the game.

Though Ara put an effort in trying to dodge the spells coming her way, she only dodged one spell while another hit her. It was an incendio. Though she wasn't on fire, it still hurt a bit. 'Why are they still targeting me eh?' she thought, 'These first years are giving me a run for my money.'

The Slytherin girl was quite irritated that she wasn't able to dodge the spell her head was still in the game.

At least a person on the lion's team got hit by the spell of Ara's teammate. Which was basically the only good thing that happened that round.

With the risk of being targeted again, what does she do?

	----- Result. He had dominated the will of his wand with promises of success, come pain or come pleasure. That was always his way of thought when the bendy little twig decided to rebel, and this time he hoped that his victory would not be short lived, for his fuse was shortening and his temper; rising. - Pleasure was what he got, when a blast of wind ejected from his wand and he steered it forward, battering and lashing against Sere, the girl that had raised her wand at him, but whose spell had hit his teammate. His foul mind could sense the weakness opposite and he would strike back in instinct, they were already a man down and victory needed his slender fingers to reach out and clutch it- though of course he also had a team to be thankful for, he wouldn’t readily admit such. wc: 145

Siobhan watched as her teammates wand practically vanished due to the disarming charm and now she could see that hit was her own wand that would either bring them another hit or take her out for good. The pressure was on and she felt like her mother’s canning pots, with all of it welling up inside of her.

She turned her attention back to the Slytherin team and watched as they eyed her like she was their prey. It was ironic, typically lions are the dominant species in the wild but these three snakes were giving her mascot a run for its proverbial king of the jungle status. She took a deep breath and focused her attention on her target.

To alleviate the severity of her situation, Sere would head straight for her wand. It slid far across the stage and she had quite a distance to cover, so she did the only thing she could. In a duel, a wizard without a wand was a sitting duck, so unless Sere could produce magic with her hands alone, the lion followed the direction her wand went. She made progress towards it, but her opponents would turn all three of their wands on her.

Mahlioz and Ara sent twin Flipendos across the piste. Only one would hit Sere and it struck her right in the chest. Somewhat of a saving grace, the spell knocked the lion back a step which placed her narrowly out of the way of the second Flipendo. There was no avoiding Avery’s spell, though. Jessamine noted that his superior accuracy showed itself for two spells in a row. Perhaps his earlier botched cast was Merlin’s way of balancing the universe. Sere would find herself performing a swing dance, moving in complicated steps towards her wand.

Despite the lions being consistently on the bad side of things, Jessamine had to give Siobhan her flowers. Three casts, three hits. The Ravenclaw had a new role model to look up to. Siobhan would continue her trend of steadily chipping away at the snakes. After another perfectly cast spell from her, Ara would feel herself take a knock to the gut. The snake seemed to be the damage soaker of the team, but only time would tell if she stayed conscious until the duel’s end.
