'A good dude. That's quite nice.' He thought, at another sort of compliment being thrown their way. Although the next thing that would follow would have Mylo disagreeing with Justin for the first time in their conversation. Normally Mylo wouldn't go against something that someone said in fear of them lashing out at him, but so far Justin had been a really cool guy and Mylo thought he just might not have seen it from others perspective. Justin seemed like the type of guy to never have any anxiety about standing up to people.

So taking a deep breath and preparing themselves for the worst (Mylo wasn't expecting it but his brain was) they softly brought in their commentary on Justin's motto

"I don't necessarily think that people who can't stand up for themselves are weak or pathetic. They just might not know how to do that and might just need guidance or help. Some people have problems that mean that they can't stand up for themselves or have bad anxiety or something like that."

Speaking of anxiety, those sentences alone spiked Mylo's. He tried not to let it show and tried calming down by tapping their fingers rythmically on their thigh, but for some reason his mind wouldn't let go of the possibility that Justin would not want to be their friend after he disagreed with them. Deciding not to make anything worse by opening their mouth again they tried to distract themselves with the drawing and explanation of the Korean Dragon that Justin was giving.

It was certainly something, the explanation was gorgeous, Justin knew a lot about the -supposed- myth and was able to draw, what Mylo unfortunately could only decipher as Justin was talking about what he was drawing, the Korean Dragon. He would never in his life tell Justin that his first thought was that he was drawing an oversized worm. They would take that to the grave.

Justin offered Mylo another one of the drinks he'd brought which was kind of him.

"Uhm.. I don't need another one, I think I still have a decent amount left in mine thanks. What are these actually, I don't recognise them. If you don't mind me asking of course." He asked, taking another sip of the sweet drink, their nerves still a little on the high end.

Taking the drawing Justin offered them he carefully folded it into a small square and put it into one of the pockets in their uniform, remembering to take it out before washing it, or at least hoping to remember it was there. Listening to Justin's counter argument to Mylo's commentary on his original statement. He didn't seem to offended about Mylo disagreeing with him which calmed Mylo's nerves ever so slightly, although they knew that what people showed and said on the outside didn't always match the inside but so far Justin had seemed to be someone who said what they thought.

Taking another deep breath they decided to let him know their thoughts, this time ever so slightly more confident, although speaking slightly slower to try and use the right words as to not offend anybody.

"People are born weak yes, and that's why we take care of each other, but to me pathetic is something that's used as an insult. I do agree that others remind you that you are strong and that everyone can be strong. But I don't think that pathetic is the right word to use here. And I think that big sisters or siblings can also make the young strong. As long as you are kind to everyone, unless there is a reason to not be."

Hoping that Justin would take their commentary the right way Mylo watched him gulp down his second drink in one go. A little nervous at the fact that this was probably something they weren't supposed to be drinking yet.

"Oh, are we supposed to be drinking this then? As we're not allowed to go the Hogsmeade without until like third year. And I won't tell people." They state, wanting to stay on the good side of their friends.

As Mylo listened to Justin's point they did agree with him on the fact that the people who he had mentioned were not good people. But he did think that the original point that Justin had made where he had called people who couldn't stand up for themselves pathetic was a little extreme.

"I do think that those people could be called pathetic, they are often not good people to begin with. But I do think that the original point that you made where people who can't stand up for themselves are pathetic is a little harsh. Often those people want to stand up for themselves but can't due to their brain not letting them, like anxiety. I wouldn't call that pathetic, if they're trying to do so but can't due to problems outside of their control I think that's quite commendable, especially when they do managed to do it. Although with your definition I believe that they wouldn't fall under the pathetic category if they do manage to do it right?" He asks curiously, wanting to know where Justin stood. "Although I will say that if they don't try it's not necessarily a good thing, but that's something they can work towards. As long as they're trying I don't think they can be called pathetic."

For some reason Mylo didn't mind sharing their thoughts with Justin, they had found that although so far they had different views, not once had Justin made Mylo feel like his view was wrong. They were just having a 'debate' between friends and trying to get the other persons side of the story. Although this one hit a bit closer to home as Mylo had often struggled with standing up for themselves, they were getting better but their anxiety would hold them back and he had been called pathetic before as an insult, so the fact that Justin was using it as more of a descriptor and it didn't seem like he used it as an insult kind of threw Mylo.

Justin seemed like the kind of guy who didn't care at all what people thought, and his next words would conform that leaving Mylo curious about their attitude. They'd come across someone like him before, but somehow Justin had a completely different vibe with the same attitude, it confused Mylo a bit.

Justin stating that they were allowed to drink this at school brought them out of their thoughts, and lifted some of the nerves that had started to rise.

"Makes sense, maybe when we're third years we can go and try some. I'm curious what the difference would be." He states, taking another sip of the drink and listening to Justin's idea.

"That could be really quite cool actually. I might get started on that once I've finished the one I'm working on now. It was a nice day, I liked seeing the school. It was so much different than what I had first expected, but then I'm not sure what I actually was expecting. What was your favourite part?" He asked, curious about how Justin perceived the day.

Having Justin completely agree with Mylo after their counter argument made Mylo feel quite accomplished, and happy that he'd found a friend that wasn't completely stuck in their own opinions and was willing to listen to other peoples opinions and to adapt his own. And he liked the fact that they felt like their could speak their mind without judgement from the other Ravenclaw. He didn't meet many people like that.

"I like that quote, is that something you've come up with or did someone else say that?" He asked, the quote ringing a bell but not being able to place where he'd heard it before.

Taking another sip from their drink he noticed that Justin started to yawn. 'He's tired? It's not that late, or are you just that boring to talk to he might just have slept badly last night or something.' Mylo thought, pushing away the thought that popped up into their mind. He did look ever so slightly concerned at the fact that Justin pulled a third bottle out. Where on earth was the kid storing them?? Feeling a little shy at the comment on the hopes of a long friendship, but relieved at the conformation that Justin thought the same way.

"I'm happy to be friends. Also where do you keep the bottles? How have they not broken yet or smashed against one another?" They asked with a genuine curiosity and a bit of fear for Justin's clothes, the stuff felt like it would be sticky and Mylo shivered at the thought of having sticky clothes.

Mylo did have to do a double take as Justin was talking about their first day at Hogwarts and mentioned being a muggleborn. He knew Justin was muggleborn, but he seemed so comfortable with the magic and talking about moving paintings that it had completely slipped their mind. Not letting it bother them for too long he went on to answer the boy's question.

"I think I remember the paintings the best, I'd never seen them move and I've seen a lot of paintings. All muggles ones though, so no surprise that those don't move. They have so much detail and I was fascinated by how they worked, I hope to learn how to do that one day as well. I could add so much to my art that way. I also remember the hat, I still don't know how it works and I really want to know. Do you know?" He asks, curious if Justin might have a clue.

'A lot of space, the dude has brought in 4 bottles and more. That's insane. How does he seem so unimpressed by it?? Maybe he just gets used to these things really quickly.' Mylo thought as Justin answered their question seemingly not that impressed by the amount of storage space the robe seemed to have. Maybe it was magic, maybe pure skill. Who knows. Deciding not to dwell on it as it would only confuse them more he listened to Justin's thoughts on the sorting hat.

He raised a few valid points, but it didn't really sate their curiosity. Looking at Justin and adding in their own two cents. "I believe they're sentient, it wouldn't surprise me if magic could do that. It would explain the eyes as they would be a being on their own and eyes are quite often seen with sentience. And it would mean that they have their own voice and not something pre-recorded. And I also heard the voice, and it seemed to be quite personalised so again I don't think it's pre-recorded."

And Justin had a great idea. Studying the sorting hat, Mylo had tried to see if they could find a book on it one of the first days they were here, but hadn't quite know where to look, had stopped looking and had completely forgotten about it due to classes and other things going on. This conversation bringing back the curiosity.

"That's a great idea, I had a quick look in the library on one of the first days but couldn't easily find anything. But now that we've been here a while I think it should be easier to find. And there's a lot of stuff to find in the library, so we'll probably find accounts of things being enchanted like that!" He adds excitedly, not realising what Justin might be implying. "Also if we really can't find anything there I bet one of the teachers or the headmaster would be able to tell us. I doubt they would have any magic things that they don't know how they work. They would at least know how it should work in theory." Pondering on if they would know fully how the hat works, or if they had more of a feeling but not certainty.

"When do you want to go?" He asks, ready to go whenever Justin wanted to.
