Walking down the corridors Mylo hoped there wouldn't be too many people in the great hall, they'd finished their classes and homework for the day and wanted to do a bit of art to just wind down. The library was quite busy for some reason and he didn't want to walk all the way up to the Ravenclaw common room. Their first thought had been to go outside, but unfortunately it was raining pretty hard and it was also quite cold, and water and paper don't make such a good mix. So the great hall it was.

Walking through the small hall he enjoyed the peace it seemed to emit, wondering if it might actually be better to sit down here in a corner and do their art. But they had realised over the break that the descriptions they gave their family of the school weren't as good as seeing the actual thing, and as such had made it their mission to start drawing the school so that he could give their family more to go on, and the great hall was the best thing to start with they thought. Starting them off with where he would have started off.

Through the huge doors he walked into the brightly lit room holding his art supplies in their hands, although they spend every meal time in here it still amazed them every time at how gorgeous the room was. Luckily many students still had class and as such the room was pretty much empty apart from a few singular students here and there, mostly minding their own business.

Choosing a spot nearest to the doors, and the wall he sat down, wanting to get the best view of the room so that he wouldn't have to move around too much to get all the details. He took out their art supplies and decided to start on the staff table, one of the most impressive things in the room in terms of size. It was something that Mylo had always wondered how it had been made. 'Probably magic, like everything else here.' He thought, as he also tried to figure out how to draw the floating candles that illuminated the room. It would be an interesting challenge.

He was thankful for the lack of students as it meant that they could focus on the art and not the feelings of other people around them, hoping that they'd be done before many more students would join the room.

The boy jolted up from his nap. His eyes were barely open as he yawned and stretched his arms. Earlier, when he first arrived at the Great Hall, Justin found the place empty, a rare occurrence during that time of the day. He had lied down on one of the long benches, to enjoy the silent ambience of the magical... was the Great Hall considered a cafeteria?

The black-haired boy scratched the back of his head as he took a glance around the room. There were other students now, but still pretty empty for the most part. He then quickly realized he had been sleeping at the Hufflepuff table. He shrugged.

The carefree boy then stood up and reached for the skies as he gave one final epic stretch. He then began singing a jolly tune.

(Mr. Blue Sky by Electric Light Orchestra)

"Sun is shining in the sky. There ain't a cloud in sight. It stopped raining..." He looked outside the window to see rain falling. "And... never mind. It's raining," Justin noted, unbothered.

From the corner of his eyes, Justin thought he saw a familiar face. A blonde boy with blue eyes.

It's Mylo! Justin thought to himself. Justin liked hanging with Mylo. He was a cool dude. In typical Mylo fashion, he was working on some art near the hall doors at the Ravenclaw table.

Time to bond over a beer. Justin thought to himself. He took out two bottles from his robes. Well... butterbeer. He was underage after all.

He walked over to the pale boy with freckles. "Well if it isn't the craftiest crafter in Hogwarts," Justin approached Mylo with a laugh so loud it echoed the halls. "Got room for a friend to annoy ya?" He clinked the two bottles of butterbeer together. "Don't ask how I got em," Justin laughed, a little less loud this time.

The drawing was coming along nicely, Mylo had sketched out pretty much the entire room from their perspective and it looked amazing if they said so themselves. Figuring out the candles had been the hardest part so far, but he knew adding in the details of all the paintings would probably blow that out of the water.

Deciding to start on the details of the tables first, shading everything and getting the angles just right, they got completely stuck in their own world. Their dad had always said they would not notice a natural disaster when they got in the zone, and that statement would be somewhat proven as a fellow student approached.

Not having noticed the kid approaching he startled ever so slightly at the loud statement that left his mouth, to be followed by a laugh that seemed to bounce of the walls. Mylo wasn't even aware that was possible. But the statement that he made made Mylo fill with a small sense of pride and warmth, they had always loved arts and crafts, and that someone recognised that felt good.

As he looked up he saw a familiar face, the kid he had done some crafts with during Halloween. 'Justin I believe, he had the sweets and music.' Mylo reminded themselves. He'd quite liked Justin, he seemed to be really outgoing and didn't seem to care about what other people thought of him, quite the opposite of Mylo. But hearing him call them a friend shocked them a bit, they'd not realised that Justin considered them to be friends, but he didn't mind in the slightest. In fact they were very happy that he seemed to like him too.

"Uhm, yeah of course. I didn't see you when I came in." Mylo smiled, as Justin presented the bottles he got a bit confused. He didn't recognise the drink and wondered why Justin wouldn't want them to ask where he got them from. 'It's probably just something that you wouldn't be able to get here at all or so, he's trying to keep you from going looking for them and not finding them. He probably thinks it's not worth the effort.' Mylo rationalised, taking one of the bottles.

"Thanks, how are you?"

Justin took a swig of the butterbeer and sat down across from Mylo. "Same old same old, replied the first-year. "Hit sixty-four push-ups today though, that's a record. Maybe I can hit seventy by February or March."

He took another swig of the butterbeer. His eyes then gravitated to Mylo's drawing. The Hogwarts Hall was perfectly drawn to the last detail. Even the candles were drawn with extreme detail. No two candle were melting the same way! "This... this is amazing, Mylo. Mylo... you're a fucking prodigy! To even think that you're not even done yet..." Justin exclaimed, barely holding in his excitement.

From inside his robe, Justin took out a child's drawing. It was a picture of a circle with stick arms and stick legs scribbled on a piece of paper. "My little sister drew this for me. It's supposed to be me. She gave it to me on my 11th birthday," Justin said, beaming ear to ear. She's an artist like you too!" He folded the drawing and put it back in his pockets.

Justin paid attention to every detail in Mylo's painting. "How did you make these lines so straight? All four tables. They're so symmetrical. But even more impressive is the Headmaster's seat!" Justin exclaimed.

"Ooo, are you going to enchant it perhaps like those paintings in the halls? Make it move and stuff?" Justin asked.

He then proudly looked at Mylo and gave a grin, perhaps wider than the Cheshire Cat's. "You're going to be a star. No..."

Justin formed a rectangle with both his index fingers and thumbs, and looked at Mylo through the rectangle with one eye from afar, as if he was taking a picture. "You'll shine brighter than any star."

As Justin sat down opposite Mylo he decided to take a sip from the drink he'd been offered, it was quite a sweet drink with a caramel flavour to it. It wasn't too bad, definitely better than the pumpkin juice they'd tried one morning during breakfast and then never touched again. Mylo's eyes kind of shot up as he heard Justin state that they were able to do 64 push-ups, the most they'd ever been able to do was about 25 so hearing that he felt a sense of amazement.

"That's amazing, I wish I could do that many. I can get up to about 25 or so, not many more. Maybe with practice." He noted, wondering how much practice he'd actually have to do to achieve such power.

Before he could get much further in their thoughts on push-up strategies they were being showered by compliments, Justin had noted their drawing and was very exited by the 'quality' of the drawing, it actually left Mylo a little bit speechless. They'd had people compliment their drawings before, but never really with such enthusiasm and excitement, they didn't quite know what to think of it, but it gave them a sense of pride, a shy smile appearing on their face. Maybe he could draw Justin something, he might enjoy that.

Taking out something from his robe Justin revealing a drawing of a stick figure.

"Thank you, it's just practice really. And that drawing's really cool, she'll probably get really good if she keeps it up. I have some spare art supplies up in my room if she would like them? I don't use them that often and it's always nice for them to be used by someone."

More praise followed, Justin seemed enamoured by the drawing not seeing any fault in it, or so it seemed. 'Enchanting it, that might be fun. I'd need to see if I could bring that home or if I'd need to make a copy.' Mylo thought at the suggestion to enchant the drawing, it was a decent idea and would look very cool.

"Uhm, I use perspective lines." They answered the exited first year, pointing at the vague lines running through the paper trying to distract themselves from the shyness that came from the overload of compliments. "It's so that everything looks the same and nothing looks... wonky? It's quite useful for things like this. And the headmasters chair is honestly mostly in the details, and it's big, which makes it easier to draw."

As he thought about the logistics of the idea Justin decided to go in for the kill. Mylo had never really been all to good with compliments, and the fellow Ravenclaw was showering him in them. And him stating that they'd be a star seemed to be the last straw. A small blush started to accompany the shy smile that had been present on their face and Mylo was left wondering if their art really was that good.

'I really need to make him something. Maybe a portrait or so.'

"Thanks, uhm, do you do anything art wise? You seemed to make some nice things during Halloween."

Mylo had offered to give some of his spare art supplied for Kayla. Justin jumped up from his seat in overwhelming joy. "Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! She's going to love it! Oh, my goodness, she'll be so happy. I can already see baby's smile," Justin exclaimed with the biggest grin on his face.

* * *

Mylo had just asked if Justin does anything art wise. Justin then laughed out loud. "Me? Art? I could never. I don't have the patience to just sit there and work. I need to do active things, which is why I study while working out. Art definitely requires more work than studying. I can't do sit ups while painting a giraffe, ya know?"

The boy then rubbed his chin as he briefly pondered into thought. "I would say I am a fan of art though. One of my hobbies is collecting posters for my room back home. I like to think I have good taste. Be honored! If I find your art good that means its probably objectively good," Justin grinned. "I love paintings of nature sceneries, city art, I love a lot of the 90s aesthetic, I'm really into hip-hop culture, Jazz art is always relaxing to look at also, fictional character concepts are some of my favorites as well."

His lips then pursed to the right, "Never really got into the weird arts though. The ones where they like throw paint and call it an emotion, ya know?"

Justin took another swig of the butterbeer. "What's your specialty? It feels like still life is one of them."

Offering art supplies was apparently the right thing to say, with Justin literally jumping into the air with joy. Mylo had never really seen someone so exited, besides their little sister of course and seeing Justin so exited and energetic kind of reminded them of her, and made him miss her ever so slightly.

"Uhm, it's nothing! I'll give them to you tonight, I need to fish them out of my trunk. They're probably somewhere underneath, not that they're in bad condition due to that or anything, I just don't really use them at the moment. They're perfectly useable and everything." He rambled on, still shy from all the compliments.

Taking another sip from the mystery drink Mylo listened to Justin talk about their lack of artistry, he could see that the Ravenclaw was someone who probably needed a lot of stimulation, not someone who sat down for long periods of time out of their free will. One of the comments he made made Mylo think though.

"It wouldn't surprise me if someone did that and called it a speciality though, or like a challenge." He pondered, not realising they said that out loud.

And Justin was a poster guy! Mylo loved collecting posters as well, they had many from shows he liked and just art pieces or anything else that took his fancy. He thought it looked good, Andrea said it looked like a mess, but she's like a baby what does she know!? 'He seems to think very highly of himself. Not that that's a bad thing or anything, he just seems confident.' Mylo thought at his comment on objectively good art.

"It doesn't surprise me that you have good taste." He says cringing but wanting to return at least one compliment. "I quite like show posters and art. I like seeing how people imagine things differently. And it's good for references for my art." They add on, hoping to distract.

"That's fair, I'm not sure if there's one I dislike. I think there's something for everyone but that I just can't see it. And I specifically like drawing like the stuff I can see in front of me, it's like showing people how you see the world. I might see stuff others don't and they might see things I don't. I also quite like doing portraits and such. Anything else is also worth practising though." He states, trying to answer Justin's question the best they can.

Justin smirked and folded his arms. He glanced at Mylo up and down. "I like you Mylo. You're a cool dude. You ever need anything, I got your back. I'm somewhat of an animal expert and I don't mind getting my hands dirty. If you ever need somebody beat up, I don't even need the reason. I got you," Justin grinned, with his teeth shining bright in the sun.

Justin took a big gulp of his butterbeer. "You have a dream Mylo?"

The Korean boy grinned as he took out a book from his bag. It was an encyclopedia of both animals and magical beasts, that Justin had made throughout the years studying animals on his expeditions with his mother and his experience at Hogwarts. "A life where I can observe, befriend, and learn new things about animals and magical beasts. Making the perfect encyclopedia of all creatures is my dream."

He then turned to a page in his self-made book, that titled 'The Korean Dragon.' It was the only page with no pictures and the page itself had very little content.

"I swear, I came across the beast in my time in Korea. No one believes me though... But I truly believe the Korean Dragon exists! That's my other dream. To discover the Korean Dragon. That'd make me more famous than Newt Scamander as a magic-zoologist, right?"

Mylo was curious as to what this drink that Justin had given them actually was, it wasn't like anything they'd had before and he hadn't seen anybody else with it. Halfway through their thought process though Justin began talking about how he had their back, apart from the fact that he offered to beat people up for them which made their brain short-circuit for a second the part where he talked about being an animal expert stuck out to Mylo.

He'd always liked nature and animals and loved learning random facts about any animals domestic or wild. He was so looking forward to being able to take the class on magical animals, if they weren't mistaken they wouldn't be able to take that class until like third year which was a shame. As they started to think about the question the boy had posed Mylo watched him take a book from their bag and start talking about something called 'The Korean Dragon".

Mylo had never heard of this before, but it sounded fascinating. As much as they loved learning about animals they knew about, animals they didn't even know existed had a special place in his heart.

"I think my dream is to just help people, or animals. I'm really looking forward to taking the magical animals class, I think we can't take that one until third year though so that's a shame. I also just want to learn as much as possible." He states, answering the Ravenclaws first question. "Also, I've never heard of the Korean Dragon, is this something that's seen more as a myth or so? If so, if you do discover it, it would make you quite famous I think." He said, wondering what would happen if someone did find something that was seen as a myth. People would probably freak out though.

Justin heard Mylo's dream and grinned. "I had a feeling you were a really good dude. I was right."

The black haired boy smiled. "The weak and pathetic can't stand up for themselves. Strong people know how to stand up for themselves. But the truly strong ones, stand up for others. At least that's what Dad taught me anyway."

Justin then took out some loose paper, and began sketching the worst picture one could even imagine. He tried attempting to draw a dragon, but instead drew something that resembled an obese snake.

"Korean dragons are often depicted as divine creature," Justin explained. "Ruler of the seas, master of the weather, terrifying tyrant... There are many depictions of it. Typically though, they are seen as benevolent or perhaps maybe morally neutral creatures."

Justin then added TV antennas on the obese snake. "One of the unique qualities of Eastern dragons are those stag antlers. I don't think any other dragon both in the wizarding world or other mythology have that trait."

Justin then adding scales to the dragon of his drawing... that just looked like a bunch of W's.

"At the very least, if it exists, it's probably highly intelligent," Justin pointed out. "To avoid the detection for this long, means the beast is at least a master of avoiding human contact."

Justin slammed his bottle on the table lightly, and finished drinking the rest of his butterbeer. "You want another one, Mylo?"
