Debuff Fouls

Right as the game started, one of Ravenclaw’s seasoned players, Lavinia Cloven, shot towards Elsian Cox, arms outstretched in perfect form for… a blatch!? No. Her arms bent, and in a flurry of elbows, Elsian would come out of the skirmish disoriented and none the wiser to whomever his assailant might be! No one else would know, either.

The Quaffle

The Quaffle would almost sit neglected as nearly all the Chasers and Keepers ignored it, either off to perform a different task or otherwise not paying attention. Cecily Quinn, however, saw the glaring opportunity and took it. She cradled the Quaffle in her hands and deftly approached Gryffindor’s goals, which were not being defended. She was able to score fifty points, easily keeping the Quaffle aloft and dropping it through the holes.

‘Fifty points to Ravenclaw!’

The Snitch

The sun shone brightly in the cloudless blue sky. It was so bright that it might have simply engulfed the Snitch in its enormous brightness for all the luck the Seekers were having. The golden orb was simply nowhere to be found. Aly and Elsian would search as best they could, but wherever the Snitch was, it was certainly nowhere in the vicinity. Perhaps it was rudely fluttering its wings in the stands, or maybe it had escaped. Wherever it was, it was definitely not here.

The Bludgers

Jorah Moussa quickly took to his duty as a Beater and sent a bludger hurtling at Pax Zhang with a mighty whack. It hit Pax squarely in the chest and sent them toppling from their broom. The bludger used its momentum to shoot towards Ashleigh Hazelwood, and she fared no better: after being hit in the shoulder, she fell off her broom, too.

While falling, Pax attempted to avenge her potential demise. They sent a bludger towards Aly Salinger, but Ebony Vetra dutifully swooped in just in time, sending the bludger back the way it had come. While falling, Pax managed to dodge the bludger, and Ethan Smith caught it. He sent the bludger at Winnie Harper, who was unable to evade all the way, being grazed by the iron ball. It continued towards Jorah, who evaded it with such finesse that his movements were a blur.

Ethan was not done. After the pinball-esque movement the bludgers had taken, it seemed it was time for a bit of ping pong. Ethan shot a bludger at Aly, and once again, Ebony was able to come between the bludger and its target; however, this time, it was to Ebony’s detriment. The bludger hit her strongly, but she was able to hold onto her broom. The bludger continued its journey towards Jorah, who once again performed a lightning-fast dodge ─ how wonderful! At least for him, that is.

KOB Fouls

Despite the craziness of the bludgers, there was still more potential aggression to be had. Finnegan Connor, a young ─ but certainly competent! ─ Gryffindor Chaser, barrelled towards Cecily Quinn, his arms outstretched, a paragon of blatching excellence. It just so happened that Cecily, quite a number of years his senior, was a paragon of dodging excellence. Cecily narrowly avoided the blatch ─ Finnegan must have almost grazed her ─ but she managed to fly away unscathed.

‘Connor! Penalty lap!’

That wasn’t all. Of course it wasn’t. Perhaps Winnie Harper had wanted revenge for Ethan’s earlier bludger attack against her, or perhaps she had planned this from the beginning. Whatever the case, she, too, flew with arms outstretched. She didn’t quite go near enough to Ethan, though, and despite her wonderful technique, Ethan’s evasion was definitely on point today. He darted out of her way with such precision that they did not even come close to touching each other.

Winnie’s attempted foul, however, was still obvious.

Health and Post Tracker

𝓒ould there be any better omen than their captain managing to take fifty points completely uncontested? It was hard not to feel at least a little bit cheered after watching Cecily effortlessly chuck the quaffle through the hoops over and over and over again. The seventh year would be dearly missed next year in the Fall, and Bex felt the preemptive sting of her loss keenly. They had her for now though, and boy was she dominating.

The good news this round continued, as not only was Jorah's unlucky first round streak finally ended, managing to dodge both bludgers sent his way, but he was also able to take out both one of the Gryffindor's beaters, as well as their keeper. Ebony unfortunately took a bit more of a beating, but was still able to stay on her broom, meaning Bex was able to stay comfortably on the bench and away from any unwanted action. Speaking of the reason she was aiming to stay out of the game in the first place: she couldn't help but smirk as his blatant attempt at cheating failed miserably, and the second year boy was sent out on a penalty lap. As much as she'd root for Finnegan's success when he was playing against other teams, she'd very much like for Ravenclaw to deliver their captain a win for the very last game of her Hogwarts career. The he likely couldn't see it, she sent Finn a little wave as he was sent out of play to take his lap.

Selfishly, she hoped he'd rack up even more penalty laps. Separated from the rest of the players like that, sneaking up on him or otherwise attempting to attack him would be very difficult maneuver to pull off. Should someone try something, she and everyone else watching the match would have a much better shot of seeing it coming than if he was out in the relative chaos of the main event.

While there was no sign of the snitch yet, from either team's seekers if she was assessing it accurately from this distance, the game still seemed to be going quite well compared to the first two of this season. She crossed her fingers that Aly would manage to swipe the snitch before the other seeker could, an exciting feat for a seeker acting in that role for the first time. The anticipatory fervor she felt certainly had almost nothing to do with how biased she was against Gryffindor's seeker, and how happy she would be to see his dreams crushed into tiny, microscopic pieces. Absolutely nothing at all. She was just really excited for her friend, Aly.

Ophelia's face scrunched up slightly as she tried to concentrate on her teammates and the game itself. Today was sunny and warm, good weather for playing Quidditch, though not the best for observing the game. She lifted a hand to shield her face from the harsh glare of the sun as she watched everything going on.

As inexperienced as she was, Ophelia was a little glad that she wasn't on the field and playing yet, not that she wouldn't play with full energy if her team required it. No, she would play as well as was able if it came to that, but for now, she was happy to sit and watch.

<broom effects> in the role of Seeker you when you have found the snitch, if someone attempts to use Alley Oop to help you find the snitch, you get three rolls instead of 2, with the second-lowest roll being used instead of the lowest. However, with this broom you do not gain the +1 chance to grab the snitch for rounds that the Alley Oop is used. To clarify, each round someone attempts to grab a snitch they get a +1 to the attempt and this stacks. There is no bonus (or stack from this round's attempt to grab) to grabbing the snitch.

The game had begun. Charlie readied herself, waiting for chasers to come her way and blungers to be batted around. Out of the corner of her eye, Charlie spotted Lavina cobbing Elsian, which did not get called for a foul. Charlie smiled softly, and watched Cecily approach the opposing team's hoops. She watched Cecily score 50 points for Ravenclaw. "Go Ravenclaw!" She called out, glad that her team had been the first ones to get points on the board. While all of this was happening, one of her teammates blungered TWO Gryffindors. Pax and another girl, who she knew as Ashleigh Hazelwood.

But, in all of the chaos, Charlie watched two of her own teammates getting hit by the blungers but luckily staying on their brooms. Winnie and Ebony were both hit but managed to shake it off and continue.

Charlie also heard Winnie and Finnegan getting Penalty laps, but she was busy doing her job of watching for the quaffle.

Quinn smiled and cheered as the game got off to a start. She had never seen a game where this happened but there seemed to be no restraint as @Cecily Quinn grabbed the quaffle and scored. Turning to her fellow benched ravens a jolt of surprise hit her. It had somehow slipped her mind that Ophelia @Ophelia Northwell was also a benched player.
"Is this your first game?" Quinn asked her. She might as well chat with her friend while she watched the game. The other people on the bench @Rebecca Lark + Renelle Dalton Quinn did not know. She gave a friendly little wave and a smile.

The bright sunlight streaming down from above was reflecting off of every which surface that could possibly glimmer golden down below, causing the newly-minted Seeker's green gaze to dart from here to there to here to there in the span of just a few seconds, her bushy ponytail of curls whipping into her ears and neck. Worst. Weather. Ever. Aly normally loved a sunny day, bright and clear, but she was beginning to realise that her stint as a Seeker would change that.

Then her gaze alighted upon a different kind of ball, hurtling towards her, this one made of pure iron and fury; Aly flinched back with a surprised yelp, definitely not a stranger to getting smacked off her broom with a Bludger, but a dark blur swooped in between her and the Bludger to defend her. Aly watched in amazement as Ebony, one of her team's Beaters, skillfully deflected the iron ball away with her Beater's bat, marvelling at her strength (something Aly herself had never had). Releasing a relieved sigh, Aly called out, "Thank you, Ebony!" She had once had the younger girl on the back of her broomstick during a match, and that sort of thing can't help but keep a soft spot in one's heart for the other person. But then, out of nowhere - another Bludger rocketed from seemingly thin air and nearly knocked Ebony from her broom, and Aly cried out again, thinking that her younger teammate was about to pay the highest price for defending her. Still, Ebony managed to hang onto her broom, and again, Aly sighed with relief. "Hang in there, girl," she yelled Ebony's way before turning her broom to see what else had happened on the pitch.

And what had happened, indeed! Fifty points to Ravenclaw! A grin broke out over the Seeker's freckled face as she watched her captain score five unanswered goals, proving once again why she was one of Ravenclaw's star Chasers. Aly really didn't want to think about what Quidditch would be like next year, when Cec had graduated. She pumped her fist in the air victoriously in her captain's general direction, not wanting to distract Cecily by shouting encouragement her way.

Could this day get any worse? His sole attempt at being sociable was left unanswered @Winnie Harper and the task he'd been given was to barrel into @Cecily Quinn. It was a dirty tactic on a good day which had more to do with luck than skill. Still, he had begrudingly agreed that there simply was no other way to defeat the Ravenclaw chasers, least of all Cecily. It was her last game, wasn't it? She deserved better than to have to dodge featherweights playing at bird-of-prey. He didn't want to do it, didn't really want to be near anyone, but he had no choice, so pretending to be an interceptor missile it was. Hovering up high, he watched the blur of blue robes below, picking up the Quaffle with ease. What on earth were his teammates doing? With the hoops unguarded and no one from Gryffindor going after the Quaffle, Cecily had free reign. It was all too easy to admire her from a distance, skillfully plucking the Quaffle out of the air and lobbing it through the hoops like she'd done so often. Grimacing, he turned and aligned his broom to where he anticipated her to be next. He figured his near vertical descent ought to give him the extra speed he needed to catch her off guard and it almost worked. Unfortunately, almost just wasn't good enough. He was off by a hair, just a hair. Not that he would've done much damage, but something would've been better than letting her score completely uncontested. Maybe she'd seen him coming from her peripheral view and pulled away at the last minute, maybe he'd simply aimed wrong, either way, he zipped past in an embarassing display of outstretched limbs, his intent clear for all too see. "Connor! Penalty lap!" It was a good thing the referee was some distance away because the stream of grumbled swear words that came pouring out of his mouth could've easily earned him a second penalty lap. With a sharp pull he veered off to the side and began his round of penance, ashamed not for what he'd tried to do, but that he'd failed at it. At least he got one wave back from the Ravenclaw side @Rebecca Lark, though he zoomed by too fast to return the favor. Just a month ago he'd been so keen to play against her, to test her mettle, to earn the right to give her grief over any and all mistakes she might have made. But she was on the bench and he was in the air, making a fool out of himself by not even having touched the Quaffle once. He spotted another familiar face in the crowd. Seated next to her cat was nurse assistant @Xailah Alptraum, a face he'd become all too used to seeing when he was carted off to the hospital wing again. Quidditch injuries, a snake bite, a stabbing, at this point she could be forgiven for thinking he just really liked laying in bed, looking pale and miserable. Could this day get any worse? Sure it could. If by the end of the game he'd wake up to Alptraum's stoic face again, he would know officially that this was the worst day ever.

It wasn't Haley's day, her thoughts were everywhere and nowhere. But most of all, they weren't at Quidditch, with her hovering pointlessly over the field on her broom at that moment. She hated it and tried to clear her head. She had never had such a stress to concentrate on the game and Quidditch. But the first few minutes had passed and she hadn't contributed anything meaningful and Ravenclaw managed to take a 50 point lead. "C'mon Haley. Get your head out of your ass." She cursed quietly to herself.

Shaking off the thoughts, her eyes flew over the pitch to analyze everything and she leaned forward on her broom. Back in the game. She would not let her team down any longer and tried everything to make up for her mistake.

Fearless: Fear effects such as a dhmpir's aura, the ability terrible presence, a lycanothrope's intimidation or certain charms, potions and jinxes that would normally cause a fear effect do not work on you as you are immune to them.

Jorah sliced through the air with purpose. He was a bird of prey, an intercontinental ballistic missile, a tactical hot air balloon. Hopefully he wouldn't end up like the Hindenburg.

Gryffindor's beaters were headed after Aly. Oh no you don't. With all his might Jorah struck a bludger towards their nearest Beater, Pax. The cannonball sent Pax of their broom and ricocheted into Ashleigh, sending her into oblivion as well. It's a two for one special!!!

In horror, Jorah watched as the other bludger went from Ebony to Ethan to Winnie then himself.

He dodged both bludgers like nothing! Woah! The clover worked! "It's the luck of the Irish, baby!!!"
