Kaitlyn gave Minnie a sympathetic smile. “I want whatever will make you happy. As long as we get to enjoy the ball, I honestly won’t mind,” she continued. She would prefer to be with just Minnie but didn’t want to put extra pressure on the cute Hufflepuff girl. Besides, if she attempted to demand anything, she’d run the risk of losing Minnie. “I totally get being nervous … I apologize for making you nervous in the first place,” she replied, sincerity in her voice.

Then, Minnie whispered to her … Kaitlyn’s eyes grew wide, and her face flushed at the question Minnie asked her. ‘Go out … as in … date?’ But then, the Hufflepuff ran off to a different corridor. She glanced at Augustus, then down at her feet. ‘I could catch up to her easily … Let me see if I can find her.’

Without another word, Kaitlyn ran off after Minnie, being careful with how she moved in her sandals. It did not take her too long, weaving through the corridors. She slowed down as she noticed the familiar Hufflepuff. She walked slowly over to the bench Minnie was at, tossing her feelings around in her head. Giving the girl enough space, she sat down on the bench with Minnie before finally speaking again.

“I understand how you’re feeling … And, um, if your offer still stands … I’d love to go out with you,” Kaitlyn replied, her voice barely above a whisper, her hand nervously playing with a few stray strands of hair. Her blue eyes looked down at her feet again. ‘I hope I haven’t turned her off with my weirdness.’

Minnie took a deep breath and stared into Kaitlyn's bright eyes, determined not to wimp out. "Of course, I asked after all. I-I really like you...thank you for being so nice and just really amazing. I don't know what I would do without you." She meant it and hoped Kaitlyn could tell. Wow. I can't believe this is happening. I'm actually going out with Kaitlyn! My dream from the dance. And now we can go to the ball together as more than friends, as girlfriends. Minnie smiled wider than she had in months, just so happy. She went a little closer, feeling like her heart might explode with love. "I...I hope you didn't mind me asking and then running. I really am a weird person. You should know what you're getting yourself into." She giggled a little and slowly let out a breath, her nerves relaxing with the awkwardness disappearing. Minnie decided to go make a new candy especially for Kaitlyn...a Love Lemon Drops perhaps. "I guess I should get going, I have stuff to do. And...thank you again." She lingered for a few seconds before skipping away to make her Kaitlyn themed candy. Everything was perfect. Minnie has left the thread

Kaitlyn smiled, looking into Minnie’s eyes, as the Hufflepuff girl told her true feelings. “Perfect. I really like you, too. I have no idea what I’d do without you, either,” she giggled quietly. “Thank you for putting up with me,” she smiled.

The smile on Kaitlyn’s face grew even brighter. ‘I cannot believe she asked me out. I’m so happy. I feel like I’m dreaming … I sincerely hope I’m not dreaming. I’ve wanted this for a while, even if I didn’t have the courage to admit it, even to myself.’

Hearing Minnie’s words, Kaitlyn gave a sincere and understanding smile. “Minnie, you don’t have to apologize to me. I understand … I’ve been afraid for a while, too,” she replied. She couldn’t help but giggle when Minnie referred to herself as being weird. “Excuse me, have you met me before? I’m very much weird, too. I think that’s why I like being with you, we can be weird together,” she beamed in response.

“Ok. I won’t keep you. Thank you for everything. Eeeh, I’m so excited,” Kaitlyn exclaimed as she hopped off the bench. She beamed again at Minnie before skipping off in the opposite direction, heading off to maybe write some more. Or giggle to Demeter. Or, really, both.
