She stood up again, pacing back and forth. She needed a way to decide, or for her feelings to disappear. Neither was going to happen, but she still wished it hard. Minnie stopped pacing and leaned against the wall, still trying to wish the situation away. Now sure that that was not helping, she closed her eyes and started thinking hard about her feelings, still trying to figure everything out. She sat back down on the bench, utterly annoyed at herself. This is never going to work. I just need to hope that I have both of them with me at the same time. She let out a snort, sure that was impossible. This is going to take a miracle to be sorted out, and that's something I don't have. This is going to end badly.║

Thoughts: italicsKaitlyn glided through the corridor, nimble on her feet. Her blue eyes watched the students around her as she moved. A little twirl there. A spin there. A quick dodge to the right … to the left. She was becoming better at navigating the busy corridors by being as graceful as ever. It made her happy to do so, and put a smile on the shy Slytherin’s face. On top of it, she took the time this morning to style her hair differently. Green bows and all.
As she moved, though, Kaitlyn’s mind recalled seeing a new advertisement. A Spring Ball. Just the announcement itself made her happy. ‘I love spring! I wonder if I’ll be able to go with anyone. I’d love to go with Minnie again. I asked her to the last dance, and we had fun dancing the foxtrot. Then again, a cute girl like Minnie likely charmed people other than me. What if they’re better than me? Or more cute? Or what if they literally sweep Minnie off her feet? God, I don’t know what to think if that happens … Then again, I am Minnie’s friend. I should be happy no matter who she chooses.’
Kaitlyn took a graceful spin around a corner and saw a familiar silhouette sitting on a bench. A bright smile shone on her lips, as she recognized Minnie. ‘Speak of the devil. I wonder why she’s here …. Oh. She looks upset and deep in thought,’ she observed as she glided toward the Hufflepuff. “Hi Minnie!” She greeted her with a bright smile. “If you don’t mind me saying, you seem deep in thought. A Dilemma Of Crushes
Augustus was cheerfully taking a walk on the grounds, taking deep breaths. He loved the smell of spring ! As far as the seasons went, he definitely preferred summer and the close second was autumn. But the SMELL of spring was just something else. The thick scent of wet earth, as the snow melts, the first few leaves on the branches of resuscitating trees, the delicate kiss of warmth of the sun on your face. It had everything to make the young lad in a particularly good mood. However, with the coming of spring, also came a feeble feeling of anxiety. As life was starting again, the castle was getting more and more agitated, pullulating with students, all excited to finally come out of a long winter. Augustus knew this slight sensation of discomfort, and also knew it wouldn’t last long. It was simply the transition that made him anxious. During winter, everything slows down, people stay mostly inside and life seems to take a break. But as soon as the first days of spring arrive, announcing a more forgiving temperature, everyone loses their mind and the rhythm accelerates quickly.
After a few minutes of a very satisfying stroll, Augustus decided it was time to head back inside. As he had the afternoon cleared on his schedule, he was wondering what he would do. Obviously he could go for a studying session, as there was never enough of those, but he really didn’t feel like it today. The spring frenzy had gotten to him and he decided that he would definitely rather spend the rest of his day with some friends. So, he eagerly made his way to the Gryffindor common room. However, while walking through the busy corridors, his eyes fell on his good friend Minnie ! She was sitting on a bench, apparently talking to another girl. Minnie seemed pretty upset from the look on her face. Quickly, he decided to check on her. After all, she was his first ever friend in Hogwarts ! His first interaction even, as they met on the train.
- Hey Minnie !, he let out as he approached. At the same time, he turned his attention to the Slytherin hanging out with Minnie. Hi ! I’m Augustus, nice to meet you, he continued with a smile. He then refocused his attention on Minnie. Is everything alright ?

Minnie stood up and took another deep breath. "I-okay. So Augustus, since that train ride we had...I've had a major crush on you. I'm sorry, I don't want it to be awkward, I just needed to tell you so that it's not weird if we go to the...dance together. And...Kaitlyn...I-ever since the dance that you asked me to, I've had a major crush on you as well. I really-I'm sorry. I just have crushes on both of you and I...I think I just really had to tell you."
She sat down and looked away, her face flaming so much, she was surprised she wasn't on fire. This is so weird and awkward right now. I really hope they take this well. I would hate for this to hurt are friendship.║

Thoughts: italicsKaitlyn turned to notice a boy walk over to her and Minnie. He greeted both of them. As polite as ever, she smiled back to him, giving a polite nod. “My n-name is Kaitlyn. It’s nice to m-meet you, too, Augustus,” she replied. ‘I wonder if he likes Minnie too? I wouldn’t be surprised, she is very cute. And even though I’m attracted to girls, I can tell that he’s handsome. I always assumed I wasn’t the only one looking at Minnie with a dreamy look on my face,’ she thought. Minnie’s presence effectively soothing her stutter, despite having never met this boy.
Hearing Minnie speak, Kaitlyn looked to her friend crush. Her face was already red, as she started talking about crushes. First on Augustus, which she wasn’t particularly surprised about. But, also on her. Her cheeks flushed at the confirmation. ‘Part of me was starting to consider that possibility,’ she thought, a small smile crossing her lips
Kaitlyn waited a few moments in silence to collect her thoughts. Her blue eyes glanced down at her feet, before looking back up at Minnie. “I’ve had a crush on you ever since we danced in that ballroom … I only just admitted it when I decorated that cupcake for you,” she admitted. She glanced over at Augustus, then back to Minnie. “And, well, um. I’m your friend and well, I want whatever will make you happy,” she replied. ‘As much as I’d love to have a relationship with Minnie, I want her to be happy. With me … or with someone else,’ she thought, a kind smile on her face, despite the flush. Her eyes darted briefly at Augustus again, before looking back at her feet. ‘I wonder what he’s like to have attracted Minnie’s attention.’Reducio

"I...I mean...I never guessed that I mean...would you...would you want to...no never mind. I...sorry I just really am so surprised that you liked me back I mean I dreamed and hoped but I never thought..." Embarrassed, she started to blush. Combined with her already blushing, she felt like her face was on fire. "Also...I know this sounds sappy and all but...you make me happy." Minnie immediately looked away and grabbed the book she had failed to read, wishing she could just make it so that she'd never told them.
I feel like I'm putting pressure on Kaitlyn, and I don't want to do that. What if she stops hanging out with me? I'll feel so terrible. But...she likes me back...imagine what...but Theo...and Augustus too. Her thoughts unwillingly strayed to Theo and his messy hair, his easy and cute smile. The way he made her heart break into two. Minnie shook her head again, shaking the thoughts away.
No. Stay in the present with your two other crushes. Seriously why did I have to fall for three people! This is insane! I really need to just choose one person. But the only problem is...my mind knows that, but my heart won't listen. I really hate my heart sometimes.
Minnie sighed and put her book away, facing her crushes. "I don't want you to feel like I'm pressuring you, so you don't need to decide anything...okay?"║

Thoughts: italicsKaitlyn felt her face flush, her eyes still looking at her feet, not knowing where to look. She felt so awkward standing there. But, she also felt rooted to the spot. While there were a lot of adjectives to describe how she was, good and bad, she was not the type to run away from her problems, despite how shy and awkward she really was.
Kailtyn’s blue eyes rose, meeting Minnie’s as the Hufflepuff talked to her. Her manicured hands played with a few stray strands of her brunette hair, slowly braiding them together. It was becoming a nervous habit of hers. Not necessarily an unwelcome one, however. She kept silent, however, letting Minnie talk her way through what she wanted to say. ‘I’m not going to pressure her. I could stand here and tell her what I really think … what I want. But, that would likely push her away from me.’ Her eyes darted to Augustus nearby. ‘And it isn’t like I’m the only one she’s crushing on, which does not surprise me in the slightest. It isn’t fair to make her choose, even if it gives me a reason for closure. Good or bad.’
Once she was positive that Minnie was finished talking, waiting for a whole five beats afterward to let Minnie’s words sink in, the Slytherin finally spoke up. “You make me happy, too, Minnie. I am also shocked to hear that you like me, too … I’ve hoped for it, dreamed about it, wrote about it, drew about it, but never thought it was a reality,” she admitted. It was true, too. She wrote love poems and had a drawing of her and Minnie together.
Kaitlyn really wanted to shout to the rooftops how much she liked Minnie and wanted to date her. But, she kept her mouth shut. Not out of politeness and etiquette. But, out of respect for Minnie. ‘I don’t want to pressure her. She likely has enough on her plate without me making her choose. Besides, I’m her friend. As much as I like her as a crush, I also need to support her as a friend. A friend wouldn’t force her to choose.’
“Minnie, take all the time you need. I’m not going to pressure you into making a choice, and I don’t feel pressured either,” she replied. Her eyes darted to Augustus before looking back to Minnie. “This will not stop me from being your friend,” she confirmed.Reducio

I hope she says yes. I'll be so embarrassed if she doesn't. I'll most likely cry, and I don't want to cry in front of them. Or anyone really. She looked down and decided to propose another option. "If you don't want to, I understand, I really do. But...I have another option...we could all go to the ball as friends. You, me, and Augustus. Would that be okay if you don't want to go as..." She trailed off, not brave enough to finish the sentence. I cannot believe I just said that. She must think I'm a cowardly idiot. Thoughts: italicsKaitlyn flushed lightly at Minnie’s question, thoughts racing through her mind. ‘Did Minnie just ask …. No, it couldn’t be, could it? She just said she liked me though, and that she had a crush on me. But, me? She’s asking me to the ball?’ A smile bloomed on her lips. Just as the Slytherin was about to accept in the affirmative. But, then, Minnie proposed another option. ‘Wait, now I’m confused. She wants the three of us to go as friends? Wait, does that mean that she doesn’t want to go with me? Or rather, just me?’
While she was even more confused, the young Slytherin let Minnie finish speaking. Her blue eyes darted to Augustus, before returning back to Minnie. She waited her normal two beats, before responding to the cute Hufflepuff in front of her. “I’d love to go to the ball with you … if you want.” It pained her to say the next part, but the friend portion of her mind kept reminding her that it was probably a good idea to accept Minnie’s alternative proposal, too. ‘She appears to find it difficult to make a decision … I should really make it easier for her.’ A smile graced Kaitlyn’s cheeks. “But, if it’s easier, we could go as friends,” she continued, her blue eyes looking between Augustus and Minnie.Reducio

I cannot believe I did that. This is really, really, really terrible. She must be so confused and embarrassed. And also, running had to confuse her as well. Why am I so stupid? This is all my very terrible fault.
Stopping and sitting down on a bench, she gasped for breath, her cheeks feeling like they were on fire. Minnie sighed as she looked down the corridor, wishing she could just have Kaitlyn know how she feels without the whole embarrassment thing. "I'm sorry Kaitlyn, I hope you understand." She whispered, knowing Kaitlyn couldn't hear her. But she still said, still wishing upon wishing that this whole mess could be resolved.║
